Anaheim Ducks Rebranding

GFB

Recommended Posts

Its ok. I'm not a huge fan of the logo personally. I don't really get excited by the colours either. The white ends on the sleeves and jersey bottom dont sit well with me and green and orange next to each other looks too tacky IMO.

The alternate jersey is the best.

This concept is not bad, its just probably your weakest of the 5 u've done so far IMO.

I'm Danny fkn Heatley, I play for myself. That's what fkn all stars do.

Oh how I wish RBK understood hockey even a little. Overall .. this is a definite upgrade for the Ducks ... very nice work GFB. I feel like this crest isn't as detailed as it could be ... but its LIGHT YEARS better than what they have now. I really am not a fan of the angled swooshes on hockey jerseys .. i feel like asymmetry just doesn't play well in uniform design. It seems to weaken and amateurize the whole thing.

As for the alternate uni design though ... really very nice. I almost always hate teal being used ... but it kind of works here. I've never understood why Anaheim's botched rebrand couldn't use colors more closely resembling those of a duck ... theres a fantastic palette to work with right there ... I mean look at it ...

Hope you don't mind that I edited your work man ... but I just wanted to play with the colors a bit to see what could come out. Darkened the green as well as de-tealed it a bit, and added a new dull brown/gold .. let me know what you think.

I don't mind at all....

I really like where you went with this. I never tried that almost rustic gold color; I tried only the vegas gold. I didn't like it very much, so I took it out. But with the rustic gold (what color is that anyway? I would love to know!) and the hunter green, it looks really sharp....

Tempest, I see what you are saying with the consistency thing. I'll address it when I go back and clean everything up.

I may try to incorporate a little more detail into the crest and wing later. It's hard to incorporate much detail at all when the starting picture is hardly bigger than a thumbnail....

Dude, you melted my brain with this one. Absolutely sublime work, all the way around. I've loved everything in this series so far, but this is the cream of the crop. You nailed it. I do like John's addition of the "rustic gold" to the duck; with such thick black outlines all around the crest, the duck needed something else to stand out on the crest. The gold may have done that. And I prefer your font to what they used, which is a little chunky for a pro uniform.

As for the Devils, THOU MUST INCLUDE DARK GREEN. For all the non-New Jerseyans out there in Creamerland, the team was not named for the Prince of Darkness (which oughta shut the lunatic fringe on the far far right up next time they feel like grandstanding for the cameras by bellowing for a name change). The team was named for a creature out of local folklore, the Jersey Devil. And where is the Devil supposed to live? The Pine Barrens. Pine Barrens... pine trees... trees are green. It's a logical conclusion. Bring back the green. And no, I don't know how to improve on that logo unless you take it in an entirely different direction - an actual devil, for example.

"Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

This, like all your concepts is great. I love the primary logo, it is perfect for the Ducks. The secondary is pretty good too, a lot of people said they see an R, but I see it as AD right away. After looking at the green more, I didn't like it as much. The colors that js used would be perfect. I can't wait to see what you do with the Devils, I would suggest having a devil or devil head as the secondary logo.

This series is awesome, I love the jerseys especially the green third...when I think Ducks...I think of Mallards which makes me think of their green heads...the ducks for some reason came as close as teal, but finally GREEN that is what duck concepts need to have, great job on the whole series. keep em comin

GhettoFarmBoy, this design is near perfect, and it'd be great to see the Ducks in something like this. :D

The only adjustments that I think need to be made would be to have the teal/green and white swapped around on the home uniform. Perhaps also make the teal/green a bit darker.

As for the Devils, I think they should be red and black, but try experimenting with some green as well.

I like how you put a lot of time in this series. I was looking at the Thrashers one and noticed there was about three weeks between these two concepts. So its obvious that you put a lot of effort into these concepts. Many people on this board should learn from this, not just put out a new, mediocre concept every day (sometimes I myself fall into this category).

That being said, the Ducks concept didn't fail to dissapoint. Nice job. I'm not really sure if that logo can function as a primary though...but they should consider it for a shoulder logo, at least.
