I know this is not the purpose of this forum, but I want to encourage all my fellow canuck freinds to respect the first rule of engagement of the Canadian citizenship: VOTE.

Vote Blue, Red, Orange, Green or Multi-color, but vote, eh!

By the way, Don Cherry is going to do a special election Coach's Corner tonight on CBC, this is not to be missed.

Well folks, its over, and we have a Conservitive Minority Government.

The results for thsoe who haven't seen it yet: (as of 11:48 PM eastern)

122 Conserv
105 Liberal
50 Bloc
30 NDP
1 Indy

The NDP's growth is quite surprising, inceaced their share about 50% fromt eh last election.

My thoughts, could be worse. The Conservatives are going to have to work with the other parties to get things done, meaning that other interests will have to be addressed if we want to avoid another election anytime soon. I don't think we'll last a full term before another election though, it could take awhile for their to be another majority government, unless something really drastic happens to change public opinion

It'll be hard to convince the NDP Party to get another election -- they must be thrilled by this result.

But I'm happy that Liberal + NDP at least equals more than Conservative... of course it'll really be interesting to see if the Bloc and Liberals start teaming up

im torn... i am by no means a conservative fan... far from it... i infact voted NDP... however i am please by this result... there wont be an election anytime soon... unless harper totally starts hitting buttons (ie notwithstanding clause and zeros favourite topic gay marriage (lol))... so this means that with the narrowest of minority governments the goverment actually has to be responsible... there is no one the the conservaives can form a coalition with to push the other partys around... this could be quite interesting... and as much as i hate to say it it was about time the liberals were ousted as well... too long in power causes too many people to get too lazy and it was strating to show... this could be an interesting couple of years for canada... :flagcanada: who says democracy doesnt work... lol

ME! (nah, thats in 30 years...)

I dont know who will be voted in as head of the party...he is smart to do this, but he should have done this prior to this election, then the Liberals would have gotten more support.

Michael Ignatieff from Ontario Etobicoe-Lakeshore would be an amazing guy to be the next Liberal leader.

That would get me to vote Liberal again.

That's exactly what my thoughts are as well. I am scared.
The NDP had a strong showing here, thanks to Jack Layton, who has been the best NDP leader in a long time.

I voted for Billy Graham!

I'd have gone for Dryden, but he isnt in Toronto-Center.

I'd like to see Mr. Ignatiff take control of the Liberals, but yet again, I dont know who else is strong enough to take control. Kenny D would be wicked, and I'm sure would win all Quebec cuz he is, well you know, KEN DRYDEN! Hell, if Roy ran he'd take it.

I think you'll find out Harper isn't as scary as he's made out to be.

He certainly isn't as scary as Martin.

Thank God it's a minority!!!

What does it say when the I don't trust the PM-elect of Canada to take care of my cat for 5 minutes let alone a country?

What's to be scared of? It's a minority with no easy coalition, the Liberals are out, and the Bloc's power has been shaken.

Methinks Ontario's just shook up that a party that looks pays attention to what happens west of Seault Ste. Marie is in power.

But seriously, I think this is a really positive day for Canada, and judging by most of the political correspondents on TV, very few are "scared" and the tone is actually, for once, a bit hopeful.
