    MLB changes 2018?

The texture files are so much larger for HD these days and it probably bogs down the performance having to have up to 30 different jersey textures loaded into memory instead of just 2.

    NBA Changes 2017-18

I like sports uniforms. So I enjoy seeing more of them. Are some terrible? Yep. Are some off-brand? Yep. But how boring would these boards be if everyone was like the Yankees and Canadiens? What the hell would people with this interest talk about? Give me more alternates. Give me throwbacks and fauxbacks. Give me crazy designs and weird concepts and experiments. GIVE ME MORE UNIFORMS TO LOVE AND HATE AND ARGUE ABOUT BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT'S FUN ABOUT LIKING SPORTS UNIFORMS.

They wouldn't have two different number fonts, would they?

Love, love, love. Huge upgrade. But why are there different number fonts on the front and back?

    Minnesota Timberwolves

Those Wolves jerseys are pretty nice; just not for the Wolves. The original blue/green is so fantastic, it boggles my mind that they don't embrace it.

Several new jerseys in this video, including Pelicans and Jazz.
  9. Salt Lake City is 3% African-American. The NBA is 75% African-American. Makes complete sense that players don't want to go to a city where they would be overwhelmingly in the minority. That's why people took the Gordon Hayward signing so hard; "if we can't even keep the whitest white guy in the league in Salt Lake City, what chance do we have of keeping anyone?"

    MLB Changes 2017

Nothing "allows athletes to showcase their personalities" like carefully proscribed regulations enumerating the specific methods by which said personality can be showcased.

Nobody who frequents this board has any damn space to mock anyone for caring about a sports logo. People here hyperventilate over kerning, for Christ's sake.

    Forgotten Secondary Logos

In my old Panini NFL sticker books, there was at least 1 year where every team had a "crest" logo that I never saw anywhere else. Wasn't sure if they were designed for the sticker book specifically or if they were used in some other way. Only team without a unique one was the Raiders, who just used their normal logo.

I seem to recall he wore 12 briefly in between, maybe only for the preseason. Could be making this up out of thin air but it's pretty set in my mind. Also around the time I saw him at the dry cleaners across from my house when he and Nick Van Exel were roommates in Culver City.

    NFL 2017 changes?

"Hey, Bob?" "Yeah, Stan?" "You know those two really popular sets of logos and branding we have? "You mean the ones that both sell a ton of merchandise?" "Yeah, those. You know what we should do, Bob?" "What should we do, Stan?" "Let's just get rid of one of them." ... "Stan, have you been drinking again?"

    MLB Changes 2017

Man, it's jackasses like you that make these boards no fun to visit anymore. Why can't people just talk about logos and uniforms they like and/or don't like? I know many of the people on here are designers themselves so this is their livelihood, but we're all here because we enjoy talking about this stuff, right? Do we all need to take it so seriously? What does this kind of response accomplish other than making this thread a drag to try to follow? It happens in almost every thread these days. Who the hell wants to read a thread where 2/3 of the posts are people bitching back and forth at each other about something that is only tangentially related to the thread topic? I've been on here for 12 years and it just seems much worse than it has ever been recently. edit: and yes I know I'm doing the same thing I'm complaining about here but it's my first time so i get a pass

Best Possible Super Bowl LI Matchups

I agree the Super Bowl could be more interesting. But that's one game out of an entire season. And the fact that half of baseball fans never got the chance to see Ernie Banks play in their city isn't something to be emulated, it's a shame. You think, for example, 1960s Twins fans wouldn't have rather seen Ernie Banks on occasion instead of having even more Twins/Orioles or Twins/Indians matchups? The more diverse the range of matchups is, the more interesting the season AS A WHOLE is, so why limit that diversity?

Best Possible Super Bowl LI Matchups

Yep, what would make football better is if the more of the best players and teams went years and years without playing each other. I mean, what 49ers fan doesn't cherish only seeing Tom Brady in SF one time in his 17-year career? The only thing that could have made that better is never seeing him at all, then they could have had another game against the Rams or something, and who doesn't wish we had more of those matchups to look back on? There are a ton of benefits to separate conferences, mainly logistical, but keeping more teams and players from facing each other isn't one of them, not by a longshot. Football is best when the best players and the best teams play each other.

    Los Angeles Rams Brand Discussion

Gotta disagree; I love the white pants stripe. Without it, the blue/yellow would be too much; anymore and the whole feel of the uniform would change.
