    Michigan STate Pro Combat

Whats on the front of the stripe? It looks like actual Greek letters... I think Nike has gotten bored with these. The last two years they were on top of everything and everything looked great and this year they're crummy and wont even update the website.... Molon labe My link

    Final Four Jerseys

Interesting! I thought it would go by seeding and since they are both five seeds it would to higher rated 5 seed.

Catholic schools using navy & gold

Didn't need to be any more descriptive than that. Infact I think that is the actual description from Notre Dame.

Catholic schools using navy & gold

+1. From everything said here, 'gueman' gave the best reply. Roman Catholicism possesses many "Orders", he named two, but notable ones which may also be known include Franciscans and Benedictine, yet there are more. The Congregation of Holy Cross has Portland and Notre Dame as sister schools, but their colors are different. Actually I gave the best answer. I also think that that Notre Dame found out years later that the blue was actually lighter and not the navy they use.

For Notre Dame I believe yellow stands for the light and blue for the truth.

    Michigan State changing logo?

There is talk of Gold being added either as a color or as accents to the uniforms. No printed credible sources yet, but that is what some are hearing.

    Michigan State changing logo?

First off, since when do you have to attend a school to be a fan? Secondly, from your own (I'm assuming your a Sparty) paper: http://statenews.com/index.php/article/2009/11/police_mum_regarding_rather_hall_altercation I was just curious if it happens, you see a lot of the former going on in Metro Detroit, I was wondering if the same thing happened in the Lansing area. As far as the ski-masks, I seem to recall that was just a story and none were worn. But I could be wrong. And no, I am not a Sparty. And for the logo, the dynamic between Michigan and Michigan State has a lot to do with the Logo. Michigan is consistent with a standard set of logos and colors, where as Michigan State seems to always be evolving and it appears each team wears a different shade of green.

    Michigan State changing logo?

Hey, at least you can joke back and forth without being an ass. There are some funny pictures there. We know all fanbases have some fans like that. (WalMart Wolverines, Save-a-Lot Spartans, whatever you want to call them. ) I don't have to go further than out my front door to find some good Spartan ones. You can't have a Save a Lot Spartan as Michigan is the only school in Michigan that has die-hard fans whom have never set foot in a campus bookstore. Yeah? Huh.... I have lived in Lansing my whole life, and I know plenty of them. As I said earlier, I don't have to go but one step out my front door to find you one. Any school has fans like that. I have a neighbor whose house is painted green and white. He likes to blow airhorns or yell through a megaphone when the Spartans win, and hides in the house when they lose. Not only did he not go to MSU, but he has no college education at all. Don't give me that bull that State doesn't have diehard fans like that, because I live in Spartan Country. I see it. And GFB, good find. A bunch of players were disciplined for leaking the new gear a while ago. I can't believe I didn't figure it out. I was being sarcastic. But I will add, do those Spartans who never step foot on campus belittle other graduates like Wal-mart Wolverines do? GFB, I am not sure, but I don't believe that the football players wore ski-masks.

    2009 MLB Season Thread

Almost happened to the Tigers in 87 or 88. If I recall.

    Little Caesers Pizza Bowl

Much like I stated in the MSU-decal thread, why does anyone who's fallen victim to the "tough times" in Detroit care about the name of a bowl game? Will calling it the Motor City Bowl somehow make them forget that they're foreclosing on their house, or that they can't put braces on little Johnny's hideously deformed teeth? Yep becuase the majority of the auto apologists here are funny like that.

    Michigan Football Shirts

I made the LaMarr shirts. Nice to see they're still being remembered. This may be the wrong year for those shirts though... yeah. putting in that 3-3-5 is gonna be a learning experience. i was wondering if i should put names on the back or not. if i decide not to, i guess i could use it for years to come. i just gotta think about something to put on the back. do you live in michigan, or just a fan? im pretty sure that im going to go to the speed clinic that they put on every year. its cool to see them practice up close and personal, and its gonna be awesome to see how rich rod runs the team. I'm glad you're excited about him. I don't think I'll get excited until the wins come, but I'm cynical like that. Maybe this was actually a good hire and not a reaction to the App. State and Oregon games that will turn out to be the disaster for the next four to five years like I think it will be. Only time will tell, but in the meantime, that shirt is pretty cool. Nice work. hey man, the spread offense is the future of football. what michigan was doing was soooo predictable, and just wasnt working. i think that Rodriguez was just the man to hire. illinois doesnt have the best program, and they tore up the Big 10 last year. AND they beat Ohio State, something ive been waiting a while to do. i know its odd to think of michigan of having any other offensive style than pund the ball in an I formation, and whatnot, but i think this is going to be one of the best moves that UofM has done. heres to victories! Next year could get quite ugly, I am not a fan of this hire nor the other pilfering from WVU. Michigan fans are not ready for this offense and more than likely will not like. On top of that they seem to be asleep at wheel for recruiting. YOu still have to recruit your home area and they just seem like they want to focus on his old WVU stimping grounds, that is not to fly here with MSU and OSU picking up players that would have been UM locks in previous years. In fact some recruits have said UM has not even contacted them since he took over.

    NFL 2007 Throwback helmets

I don't believe so, the NFL wanted to take a break with a few certain throwbacks to keep them unique. The Lions are only one of a handful of teams that is allowed to have 4 jerseys (Home, Away, Throwback, Alternate). I actually would like to see the Lions add another Throwback to the 60s when they did not have white on their helmets as well.

MLS Comes To Detroit! Motor City FC!

The name that would have really fits would have been Arsenal, from the Arsenal Of Democracy which was actually coined from a Frenchman.

    Tigers/Indians in throwbacks tonight

I didn't pay close attention but I remember the Tigers wearing an Big puffy Orange D outlined in White during the Bird's rookie season. This link shows something similiar to that in 81. http://www.sportsgraphs.com/markfidrych.JPG
