How would it look with a pattern similar to this? blue-jays-fourth-of-july-cap-2016.jpg

Interesting idea! I'll try to make a set with that pattern

The D-Backs look outstanding. I could actually see them wearing something like this as a more “evolved” version of their current home uniforms. Great work!

    Thank you!

Let's continue the series with the Braves. The set is inspired by the team's 70's uniforms, featuring a front design based on the sleeve leafs from those jerseys:

Love the pattern. On the all-red, though, you sorta lose the "Blue" part of Blue Jays completely. If you can fit blue into that set, it's a winner (and some red on the all-blue, as well)

Great job on both Texas and Toronto. Looking forward to the NL!

Haven't caught up with this thread for a while, but I have to say that you've done some really good ones lately!

The Rangers with the quilt pattern look really cool. You could use the road hat for both home & away, IMO.

The Rays are absolutely stunning! My only suggestion is to use yellow or light green for the number outline and the cap brims.

For Toronto, I really think you ought to keep the Blue Jay logo. Also, the maple leaf pattern looks a bit odd in blue; maybe consider implementing the Toronto flag T in a similar way?

Thank you guys for your feedback! I'll work on the Blue Jays set following your suggestions, in order to improve it.

Let's start the National League with the Diamondbacks!
The set is inspired by the current Inter Milan home jersey, using a subtle snake-ish stripe pattern for both home and road uniforms:

Soon I'll start working, so I'm not sure if I'm gonna have much time for designing. For the moment, I only have the base for the Braves set, which will be inspired by the sleeve feather from the 70's, as well as the Rockies base idea. But I'll try to continue the series.

  3. Thank you for all your feedback! I really appreciate it!

We're about to reach the half of the series. Let's move on to Texas:
The set features a Lone Star quilt pattern as main element (shout-out to @coco1997 for the great idea).

BTW, sorry for posting these one day late, but I started my final exams today, so yesterday I didn't have much time.

I love how the blue stripes on the white uniform really make the gold lettering pop!

The sailor suit idea for the M's is absolutely genius. Really happy you went with their classic blue and gold!

    Thank you very much guys!

Now, from the Northwest to the Southeast with the Rays!
For this set I decided to use the fauxback logo/wordmark, usign the gradient from the team's very first look on the sleeves as striped, inspired by the Sunshine Skyway Bridge at night.

The elephant skin pattern works because it's subtle. Looks great!

God, I hate these so much and yet they're amazing!  The traditionalist of baseball uniforms in me is screaming, but they do look really good!  I love the subliminal patterns to many of them.  Keep up the great work!

That A’s set looks great, my favorite so far!

Thank you very much guys! I really appreciate your kind feedback.

Staying in the West Coast, time for the Mariners!
I decided to use the M's throwback colours since the set is inspired by the Sailor Suit. Both uniforms feature the Marinière style with multiple hoops on the front and sleeves. While the home features a contrasting design, the away does it subtly.

It’s crazy to think the Yankees once wore even the slightest amount of green!

Really love how this one turned out. The simple green/navy/red stripes are very effective, and I like how the cap mimics the same style.

I know, right? It's difficult to imagine them with any colour apart from white and navy blue. Thanks for the feedback!

    Let's continue with Oakland!

For the Athletics I decided to use a front subtle elephant skin pattern, inspired by their nickname and mascot "The White Elephant". The home uniform features the classic "A's", while the road one keeps the "Oakland" wordmark.

Ah, my bad. It looked navy for some reason.

    The Twins turned out great!

I love these because they break out of the classic, "we always need a half-assed white alternate jersey" outside of the classic ones built around lighter colors.
Thinking that not all of these need to be shirt and pants same color, IMO.
Royals looks great and i'm wondering if blue pants with the tan jersey would look even better.

I love this design. The harlequin, split striping is such a neat trick. It's bold but not overpowering.

Thank you very much guys! Here's the Royal's uni with the mixed jersey and pants:

Time for NY and the Yankees. Since the Bronx Bombers are co-owners of the NYCFC along with Manchester City FC, I decided to use City away kit as inspiration, mixing it with the Yanks 1915 jersey. And this is the result:

    Nice job with the Angels!

One small nitpick with the Royals. I believe @vtgco and @luketheduke03 were suggesting adding a royal blue, not navy, outline to the wordmarks and scripts.

Thanks! I actually use the current Royal's blue for the outlines, but I guess it looks darker on the designs.

This is kind of heresy, but I think it could be the next must in Baseball Uniforms. Maybe in the WBC? a WBC x Nike Aeroswift would be great. Can't wait to see Giants, A's and Marlins.

I need those White Sox change, Astros change, and Kansas City primary jerseys yesterday.

(And the reason I worded it like that is because I totally could see Nike ditching the tradition of white at home and gray/colors on the road.)

    Thank you guys!

Let's continue with the Twins. @MJD7 suggested me to use Wolfsburg away kit as inspiration, symbolizing the Twin Cities. I decided to use Navy Blue, Powder Blue and Red as colours.

  9. Thank you guys for the feedback! Here's an update version of the Royals set with dark bluw outlines for the wordmarks:

Time to movw to the West Coast with the Angels!
Despite being from Anaheim, since the club focus on "Los Angels" part, I decided to use a subtle front pattern inspired by the LA flag. The home uniform features a red on red wordmark which might not be quite visible, but it's more distinctive and it's currently used by the team.

I like the uniforms, not so much the hat logos. Either keep the current ones they have or maybe recolor the old open-ended star?

Thank you ? I'll post a version with the current cap logo as soon as I have enough time.

Continuing with the series, time for the Royals!

Both uniforms are inspired by the royal capes Kings used to wear, using Powder Blue and Gold as main colours. Thanks to @Carolingian Steamroller for the idea!

It can be really tough to make tiger stripes look good on a Tigers concept, but the fact that you oriented them vertically rather than horizontally makes it work. Great job!

    Looking forward to Houston next!

    Thank you very much.

Here they are! For the Astros I brought back the Tequila Sunrise in the same styla than the White Sox's chestband, using the current script straightened as wordmark.
While in the home design the front design pops up, in the home what stands out is the sleeve pattern.

Love the Cleveland unis, especially the blue one. It's a nice detail to include the Iroquois flag!

    Thank you!

    Time for Detroit.

The Tigers set feature a subtle tiger pattern. I decided to use the "Tigers" wordmark, apart from the traditional road script.

  13. On 10/1/2018 at 2:25 AM, coco1997 said:

    Looks great!

My only complaint is that the pattern is almost invisible on the road set because it's so dark.

Thanks! I actually made the road pattern darker, because I couldn't see it. This way I have no problem... Maybe it depends on each screen.

Due to the lack of time, from this week I'll be posting only one design per week (every Sunday).

  14. New week, new post! Time for the Chicago White Sox.

The Chi Sox designs try to to bring back their famous 80's uniforms with a twist: the front chest band uses the same style than the pattern from the sleeves and pants, inspired by this jersey. I decided to try a new colour combination, going for powder blue and deep navy blue. I also decided to use the batting man logo on the front for the second design.

I like the sublimation, I think that is the way forward in baseball.

Is there a rule of the uniforms being essentially color rush-style?  Can the red top go with either blue or white pants?

On the Orioles set, the orange shirt and black pants would be a fine combination!

Thanks! The designs don't have to be mandatorily one-colour, but I think that's what Nike'd do. The pants can be interchangeable, but I'm avoiding using white pants to make something different.

Here's the Orioles set with the pants changed:

Great job on Boston! I really dig the non-arched scripts on the jerseys.

    Thank you!

They’re well made but this reminds me of the Mariners future prediction unis, purposefully ugly. Hopefully baseball never takes this route tbh. But good work I guess, the subliminated designs are interesting.

Well, I think one man's meat is another man's poison. The designs are heavily inspired by Nike's soccer style, which I reall like.

That New England pine tree looks really good. Any reason for the diamonds?

The straight wordmarks are really cool too.

I'm still not feeling the monochrome, though. White pants would really help, as would pants + sleeve striping.

Also, I feel like you should at least keep the NOB and the team-specific fonts, because it's already pretty templaty.

Sorry to complain about the basis of your concepts... I guess just want the best of both worlds! (Cool sublimated patterns + striping/scripts/fonts current of baseball jerseys)

Thanks! The striping pattern comes from Nike latest designs. As I said, I'll avoid using white pants, except for certain teams. As for the striping, I wanted to focus the designs on the front patterns, that's why I've removed it from both sleeves and pants. I also tried to combine it with the Aeroswift sleeve pattern, and they didn't look very good together.

I completely forgot about Red Sox's custom numbers! Here's the corrected version:

  16. Coming next, the Boston Red Sox:

The BoSox will be one of the few teams (probably the only one) to feature two different front graphics: the road design features a pine tree on the front, inspired by the New England flag, while for the home one I've used an "X" graphic, based on the American uniforms from the American Revolutionary War.

At first I thought on using the home pattern for both unis, but @Carolingian Steamroller suggested to use a different one for the home design, since it would resemble the British uniforms.

The home design is based on the new Wolfsburg home kit and the graph uses green as secondary colour, inspired by the Green Monster.

I am one of those guys who doesn't give a hoot about tradition in baseball, these are amazing!  Can't wait to see what you do with the Rocks.

Thank you! You'll have to wait for the Rockies, but I hope the wait will be worth it ?

For real life, obviously these wouldnt be used in games just because of traditional looks, but I can already tell these would be SOLID BP or Spring Training uniforms.

Thank you ? Indeed, this series isn't supposed to be realistic, but a mix of styles

I'm not a fan of all-one-color uniforms in general, but you do it relatively well. The all-orange is kinda loud to me, but whatever.

I love the diagonal split line pattern! I'd love to see subtle sublimated texture to spice up baseball uniforms (especially the blank white ones). My only worry is that the Nike burst pattern is emphasized equally or more with the team-specific pattern, when it should really be focused on less.

Still, your template is clean and the idea is interesting! Good work.

Thanks for the feedback! I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but one-colour uniforms will be the key element of this series, except for a couple of teams.

The sleeve pattern I'll be using will always be in the same colour than the front graphic. Given Nike has make much more pronounced versions, I think this was it's OK.

  18. After the announcement of Nike taking over the MLB in 2020 I wanted to start a new series, but given the multiple series relating the topic (all of them with great designs), I wanted to do something different.

This series will only feature full-colour alt uniforms, whose designs will be inspired by the style Nike is currently using for their soccer kits (that’s where the series title comes from).

Every team will use a pullover template, which tries to combine classic baseball uniforms with Nike’s Aeroswift style:

The team list and order will be the following:

    Baltimore Orioles

    Boston Red Sox

    Chicago White Sox

    Cleveland Indians

    Detroit Tigers

    Houston Astros

    Kansas City Royals

    Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

    Minnesota Twins

    New York Yankees

    Oakland Athletics

    Seattle Mariners

    Tampa Bay Rays

    Texas Rangers

    Toronto Blue Jays

    Arizona Diamondbacks

    Atlanta Braves

    Chicago Cubs

    Cincinnati Reds

    Colorado Rockies

    Los Angeles Dodgers

    Miami Marlins

    Milwaukee Brewers

    New York Mets

    Philadelphia Phillies

    Pittsburgh Pirates

    San Diego Padres

    San Francisco Giants

    St. Louis Cardinals

    Washington Nationals

I'll be posting new designs on a weekly basis, every Wednesday and Sunday. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I did designing the uniforms!
