    MLB changes 2018?

Unpopular opinion: I liked that hat. Could have worked as a Sunday alternate like the Cards bird on the bat hat.

    2019 MLB Changes

If the Cubs dropped the blue alt, they’d be pretty close to perfect.

    Favorite jersey number?

40 was the first number I had in organized basketball. For some reason, it held on to me more than numbers I had playing baseball or soccer. For family related reasons, i also like the numbers 4 and 14.

    Forgotten classic uniforms

For the most part, I like what the White Sox wear now more (eapecially if they’d revert back to the near perfect road grays they had a few years ago), but I’ve always felt that this set is severely underrated.

    MLB Relocation? Naw...

St. Louis might be a special case because of the Edward Jones Dome and the way the Rams used a loophole escape to LA, but the people of STL refused to fund a $100M MLS stadium. The days of public ally funded stadiums are hopefully over. The amount of money teams and leagues make is widely available, and St. Louis and now Miami serve as cautionary tales. Don’t be taken hostage by a professional sports teams, they can afford their playgrounds.

HOF-caliber players whose "right" uniforms are awful

This is why we can’t have nice things... Please close this topic now.

One tweak you’d make to a uniform you already like

I made a few corrections, but only because your suggestions are so perfect.

    MLB changes 2018?

How can Yankee fans be mad that Jeter didn’t try to buy the Yanks? The Yankees weren’t for sale. If they’re upset about that, then they are both uninformed and emotionally immature. A MLB franchise is a huge asset. The only way I see Jeter going back to the Yankees is if A) His Marlins partners buy him out at a huge profit, and B ) he is offered a sizable stake in the Yankees at a discount and the Steinbrenners really have no reason to do that. We don’t even know if Jeter will be a good owner/ baseball franchise decision maker. Being a great player doesn’t automatically translate to being great in the front office. Michael Jordan with the Wizards is a great reminder of this. I feel bad for Marlins fans because the Marlins have been terribley mismanaged. With that said, it appears that Jeter and Co. had a huge mess to clean up. I understand a lot of the moves they’ve made, but I honestly hope it doesn’t kill MLB in South Florida.

    MLB changes 2018?

He wanted to move the team to Ft. Lauderdale, not Illinois, right?

    MLB changes 2018?

Since they have all of the ASG patches, how do we know that MLB did not pick which Diamondback uniform they’d wear?

Braun will never get close to the HOF.

    MLB changes 2018?

I think this is a cool idea. I don’t think we should be surprised that Wahoo is missing. I’d be surprised if that logo was featured.

    MLB changes 2018?

Not to be argumentative, but this article says it will: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/rays-unveil-plans-for-new-ballpark-with-a-roof-thatll-reportedly-cost-240-million/

    MLB changes 2018?

The plans call for a $240 million translucent retractable roof. Total project cost is about $900 million, but funding is somewhere between thin and non-existent. I don’t think this project ever happens and the Rays will be out of Florida before 2030.

    MLB changes 2018?

The Cardinals knew they’d be wearing navy caps as part of their S&S set, but still packed their red helmets for a road series in Arizona. They just came of a home stand, so they can’t claim they already had the red helmets packed. This team frustrates me so much for so many reasons.

Canada Day: Toronto Blue Jays Red Uniform for 2018

Looks way better than the Stars and Stripes treatment American teams get for the 4th.

    MLB changes 2018?

This is probably true, but NBA Live 2000 on PlayStation was able to pull off all-star games with players in their team uniform minus the team nickname on the jersey. I remember being impressed.

Cincinnati Reds: Time For A Change?

I guess my only rebuttal, and this is a minor one, red pinstripes really only mimic the Phillies. In the NL Central it would separate them from the Cards and wouldn’t look enough like the Cubs, but to each their own.

Cincinnati Reds: Time For A Change?

Perhaps it’s my late 90s nostalgia, but I was pretty happy then and still would be now if they went back to these as long as the home uniforms use the red sleeves and red cap. I understand that a team nicknamed REDS should not wear so much black, but I really liked this look at the time. Even though I’m a Cardinals fan, the first fitted hat I ever bought was a red crown black billed Reds hat. I already realize that this is an unpopular opinion. I won’t argue with you.

Cincinnati Reds: Time For A Change?

Why? Not trying to be arguementative, but just saying no is not very useful.

    MLB changes 2018?

I recently picked up a Phillies swirly P cap for my collection (still need to remove the NE flag), and I’m joining the “bring back the swirly P” bandwagon.

Cincinnati Reds: Time For A Change?

This doesn’t sound good at all. Having the wishbone C and old English C will result in a muddled “we don’t know who we want to be” look. The NL Central already has the Milwaukee Brewers around to hold that distinction. FWIW, I agree with @BringBackTheVet that the uniform number font looks gimicky. At the same time, I like the black drop shadow on the caps because by itself the wishbone C can look flat. A minimal amount of black outlining can help the reds maintain a classic look without looking bland. I would also bring back the pinstripe vests and white pinstripe hat for Sunday day games.

Colleges In Need For A Logo Rebrand

I was an undergrad when they released this logo, and back then I thought it looked like a beaver, not a cougar. SIUE has had some boring and generic logos, but at least they looked like a cougar. As an SIUE alum, and anyone who attended there can tell you, "fighting geese" would be a more appropriate nickname since students have to fight off mating Canadian geese every spring as they walk through campus. (Picture from SIUE campus)
