That is not the old logo. It's a silhouette of the current logo. You can tell by the nose.

See that make sense for them because their name represents gold.
Chrome does not equal gold.

I'm starting to wonder if the Lions have the black hat because they are hosting the draft? They are the only team with a third hat design.

I’d be shocked if they did, as it would have been added back into the primary logo and it hasn’t been.Black as a Color Rush alt? Fair chance. But the logo still doesn’t jive - I would bet they’ll retain last year’s Blue alt helmet for whatever they do with that uniform.
Prediction: Barry Sanders-era primary Home & Away sets, longstanding Thanksgiving Throwbacks, and an all-Blue, modern Color Rush uni that works with last year’s Blue helmet.
If your prediction came true I'd be beyond thrilled. The Barry era with the current logo is my dream. I know sadly they're going to force mono white and mono blue in some how. I do hope the thanksgiving throwbacks survive.

I hope you are right but I'm definitely fearing that they're going to bring black back.

Doesn't it have to so that it's a team color and they can then make the black alt?
That was my thought as well. I thought that was part of the reason Washington shoe horned black into the away uniforms.

I really hope they don't have black mixed into the green uniforms but I have a bad feeling they are.

Be careful what you wish for. I’ve heard rumors that next year the Lions will have black alternate uniforms. Not sure if it will be black jerseys with gray pants like it was in the past or mono black uniforms but I’m guessing it will be the latter.
Can I ask where you are hearing this rumor?

Michigan going old school and bringing back the shoulder patches for the Rose Bowl with the maize pants too! I love it.

Thankfully the Lions are wearing their throwbacks based off the reveal of the John Madden patch all teams will be wearing tomorrow.

They only wore the blue tops a total of two (2) times in their two seasons as the Tennessee Oilers. And both instances were on the road: at Miami and at Dallas. So they wouldn't have much of a connection with these throwbacks anyway.
I've always wondered was there ever an explanation for them wearing white at home those first two years in Tennessee? Besides "heat".

Lions in their normal home uniforms thankfully.

Which team that currently uses navy would not be better off changing to royal or black?
Michigan, Penn State, Red Sox, Illinois.

So, Nike just plans on making the NFL as NBA as possible. I feel like most teams that make a uniform change are going to start having home and road uniforms that are completely different from each other than an alternate that has nothing to do with them as well instead of everything just being a color swap. I'm absolutely terrified of what the Lions are going to look like when they get new uniforms, I'd rather them just stick to what they have now if they're not going to just go back to the Barry Sanders uniforms with the current logo.

Since a lot of people associate uniforms with players that wore them, would this be considered the “Kerrigan Era Set”?
I'd leave it up to Purdue fans, but I definitely associate them with Kerrigan or Kyle Orton. Even though the Orton uniforms had the logo on the sleeve and numbers on the shoulder.

New Purdue uniforms. They look like copies of the Drew Brees era unforms from 2001
Purdue definitely looks better than they've looked the last few years. However, this is the uniform they should of went back to.

I guarantee State wears those stupid BFBS uniforms for their night game against Michigan. And there will be idiots on Twitter clamoring for Michigan to wear all maize uniforms.

Lebron switching back to #23.
Assuming the Lakers retire his jersey, I wonder if they do #6 for him, or just kinda "forget" about those two years, and say it's retired for Bill Russell and that's it.
I really hope the Lakers don't retire 6 for him. That would be ridiculous. Kobe accomplished greatness in both 8 and 24.

Plus their deal is with a wholesale supplier, not with Nike directly. They wont be getting anything custom until this deal ends.
What deal do they have with a wholesale supplier? I wasn't aware they had something like this going on.Never mind just read up on their deal with BSN Sports.

How long do nike templates usually last? Because this is the first time I've really noticed one and I already want it to go away
Since Nike took over as NFL supplier:
Elite 51 2012-2016 (majority of teams)
Vapor Untouchable 2017-2022 (majority of teams)
Vapor Fusion 2023-???
My guess is 5 seasons sadly. This new template sucks.

No black and the current logo. Also looks like white is back in the helmet stripe
