  1. As requested by @BengalErnst, this is going to be a thread covering the USFL, the XFL, the AAF and the AFL so there will be no NFL teams of the like.... probably for the best too if I have to be honest. Figuring out how to do this was something I've been meaning to do since I'm technically coming full circle with the NCAA Arena Football league, that is professionally run, well at least run in my specifics per say. To begin with as I did with the UAXF thread that might come back one day as that HAS 2 teams left so for those that remember that thread, then you know what team comes first. ORLANDO APOLLOS Now then figuring out new colors is something I didn't expect to discover when it comes to the Apollos but Navy wasn't something I considered part of the identity although it does work as a canvas for the bright orange and the white.... however as @Bomba Tomba commented recently creating an indigo that mixes purple AND navy together works just as well and since we are in Arena Football terms, I have decided to give the Apollos an alternate set of orange pants that they can use because as much Indigo I would like to see on the field, orange works well. The Helmet now has the pant striping as well which is one of the changes I made alongside the new indigo. PLUS with this scheme they look like the Frankfurt Galaxy and everyone knows how much of a :censored: yeah look the Galaxy had.
  2. Hello, good folks at the SportsLogos.net forums! What I'm about to introduce is something I've been wanted to get off the ground for a while now, but here it is, I previously announced this several weeks in advance on my profile's status update, but this is the start of a multi-sport concept series called "Into the 816-Verse" this series will feature a mixture of breathing new life into Kansas City's forgotten sports teams and a little bit of alternate history. Over the course of this thread, I will be updating my profile banner with each finished concept until it eventually becomes a full collage of every logo in this concept thread plus all of my previous KC-related concepts. All of the primary marks in this series will be Fiverr commissions. FOOTBALL Kansas City Cowboys/Marshals (NFL) Marshals (ex-Dallas Texans) (NFL) Kansas City Blues (NFL) Kansas City Stars (NFL) Kansas City Renegades (CPIFL) Kansas City Mules (NFL) Super Bowl LXII (NFL) BASEBALL Kansas City Mules (MLB) Royals-style Athletics-style Kansas City T-Bones (AAPB) Kansas City Packers (FL) Kansas City Blues (AAA) Kansas City Blue Sox (A) Kansas City Giants (NLB) Kansas City Royal Giants (NLB) Kansas City Maroons (NLB) BASKETBALL Kansas City Knights (ABA) NBA-style Kansas City Grillers (ABA) Kansas City Tornadoes (TBL) Kansas City Mustangs (WBA/WNBA) HOCKEY Kansas City Blades (IHL) Kansas City Outlaws (UHL) SOCCER Kansas City Wizards (MLS) Classic colors Kansas City Comets (MASL) Kansas City Spurs (NASL) BONUS Kansas City Royals (NBA) Classic colors Kauffman colors Kansas City Steers (ABL) Kansas City Soul (ABA) Kansas City FC (MLS/NFL) Kansas City Chefs (NFL) Kansas City Reapers (NFL) Kansas Tech Jackals (NCAA) Kansas City Chiefs (Redesign) (NFL) Fort Worth Cattlemen (AAA) Omaha Outlanders (G-League) Omaha Gnomes (MLS Next) Kansas City Royals (NLB) Apollo Beach Royals (A) Kansas City Thunder (NBA) Kansas City Lakers (NBA)

Austin | Tarleton | Utah Tech | West Georgia (2024) When I did the 1972 Project, I hadn't intended to go back and do anything like it again. I hand drew 131 football uniforms for 130 FBS teams (and a stray FCS team) and I wasn't even completely done with the drawing phase when I started posting teams in March 2018. Flash forward almost 3 years later and I had wrapped on the project. 130+1 teams, four sports, and a website allowing you to see football uniform combos. It was great. It was a massive accomplishment. And just 219 days later, the cycle was starting over again. But that was good. I couldn't control realignment and teams moving up. I missed on 4 teams that are moving up so now they get their chance. Rules are the same, but for those that are new to the arena: Nike is control of college sports aesthetics, much to probably some dismay from some corners of the world. In addition, every team in this universe also has a varsity level football, hockey, baseball and basketball teams. At the FCS level, this really means forming or potentially reviving unique looks for everyone and especially putting some catalog looks to pasture. Also something that is a little more unique to the FCS level that we didn't really have to worry about with the FBS teams: football teams will be given their football conference patches, but other sports teams in non-football conferences will be given those conference patches, i.e. NDSU playing football in the Missouri Valley but other sports playing in The Summit League. Plus in the downtime there were some improvements made to the templates, ways to see more options for socks and cleats at once and those sort of things. Anyways, let's pick up where we left off shall we? The Vandals were the last team in the original list of teams and they were there only because they were an FBS team when the light bulb first went off. And if you remember, they were still wearing old gold at that point. Well 4 years is a long time in the life span of a uniform or branding set. Now the Vandals have gone back to their vibrant Pride Gold. They also have slowly rolled out new uniforms based on the recent updates and haven't quite gotten them all out yet but I had some changes I wanted to make. Football - So football returns to their iconic look, black with athletic gold. Their new away uniforms utilize the Steelers stripe which has some historical precedence for the Vandals but I wasn't intent on making them complete Steelers clones. For the black uniforms, the stripes simply flip the black and white. Also a big addition to all the uniforms is a number font that gets close to the wordmarks but isn't an exact match. For the helmet options, a couple different gold, Vandals arch and the I block logo. Black helmet also sees the I block. I had pointed out in the FBS thread that Idaho suffers from a "Colorado Complex", having their official school colors be silver and gold, which don't always mesh well. But with the new gold, I felt that it could work this time, and the silver alternates swap out the Steelers stripe for a triple stripe, based on the Ken Hobart era uniforms. The alternate uniform would be initially paired with the black helmet with the Joe Vandal mascot logo on the sides. (Also those black helmets represent two different helmets. There would also be an option for white pants, they're just not pictured.) Hockey - I have said enough negative things about this hockey club so I'll spare you all that diatribe again. The Vandals hockey team mixes black, silver and gold and they do it pretty well but I wanted to get away from that and save silver for the alternate. So with that, the Steelers stripes come over to the sleeves. I retired their college wordmark + number treatment and replaced it with the I-Block logo. I did briefly consider a gold helmet for hockey, but I wasn't a fan in the end, so just black helmets. The silver uniforms for the non-football sports work into a fauxback sort of vibe. The college wordmark treatment returns, just with Joe Vandal under it instead of a player number, and the triple stripe swaps in for the Steeler stripes. Baseball - Boise State and Idaho both dropped their baseball programs in 1980 and they became club programs. Unfortunately for their varsity team's return, the club team doesn't offer too much to the aesthetic. 3 options for head gear: all black + I-Block, gold/black with the I+Block, and black/gold with Joe Vandal. Smaller stripes on the sleeves on V-neck uniforms. With the return to the classic gold color, it felt right for these uniforms. Alternate goes silver like the rest, stripes flip to the triple stripe. Black and gold sock options for the white and black uniforms, just black for the alternate. Basketball - Where basketball uniforms can be a little more expressive than other sports uniforms, that's not the case here. Simpler solid stripes around the neck and arm holes, main stripe down the sides of the jerseys. Contrasting waistbands, I-Block on the front, with the full stripe on the bottoms of the shorts, logo on the sides of the shorts. The alternate deviates ever so slightly from the others, using the wordmark from the 1981-82 team that won the Big Sky and lost just 3 games that season, but that's the only real deviation. The triple stripes make their way back and so does Joe Vandal. Some of you may remember I had a website where you could pick and make your own combos. I don plan on keeping that going, but it is in need of some serious help so updates might be a little slower there. But let's have some fun with it! And besides, the second movie in the trilogy is usually a better one than the first
  4. I searched through threads for the past year and couldn't find anything like this, so I figured I would post it. The idea behind this thread is to post interesting facts or statistics that a lot of people don't know. It'll essentially be the answers to trivia questions. I've got two interesting ones to start this thread off. The Minnesota Vikings were the first team to kick an extra point from the 15-yard line. Tom Brady has played two games at University of Phoenix Stadium, but he has never played the Cardinals there. The Pats have played two Super Bowls there, but only played the Cardinals at home since the stadium was built.
  5. When I was in my early teens, my parents bought me NCAA Football 98 for the computer. I really enjoyed the game, and it was very well-designed for the most part: 100+ schools; full-season play with rankings, major bowl games, and major awards; school fight songs; decent playbooks; something approximating logos on the helmets. It was a very good game for the late 1990s---not as good as the Football Pro series overall, but distinctly collegiate and lots of fun. Anyway, despite the overall quality, there were two details that I have since learned were wrong. One, LSU by default wears yellow jerseys over white pants at home in that game. Two, Missouri's colors are green and gold in the game instead of black and gold. (Come to think of it, I think the latter was also the case in that college hoops game for the Super Nintendo even earlier.) I was wondering: have you guys and gals noticed any similar errors in other games? (Incidentally, Football Pro 98 has the Eagles wearing kelly-green-and-gray even though they were in their second season with their current and inferior color scheme.)
  6. Recently, I've read through UniWatch's "What if the AFL Never Existed" series and I was inspired to do a concept based on that series. Without further ado, let's begin the concept thread BACKGROUND The year is 1959, Dallas native Lamar Hunt desires a professional football team in his home city, his request to move the Chicago Cardinals to Dallas in 1959 is rejected, but the NFL instead grants him an expansion franchise which he would name the Dallas Texans (which I've done a concept on over here) and they would begin play for the 1962 season, the Cardinals would end up moving to St. Louis just like in our universe, but in this alternate reality the Cardinals stay in St. Louis which means that the Cardinals don't ever move to Phoenix and the Rams never have a stint in St. Louis and are forever LA's team, as for Phoenix they eventually get an "expansion team" in the Phoenix Firebirds who's franchise gets started in the World Football League that merges with the NFL before the 1980 season, and because the Texans stay in Dallas and never move to Kansas City, that means there's no Dallas Cowboys around. So that how does Kansas City get a team? Well, the NFL decides to expand into the Kansas City and Denver markets in 1975, and Kansas City's expansion franchise would be owned by the Kauffman family who already owned the Royals baseball franchise at the time, so the Kauffman's decide to synchronize the Royals between their baseball and football franchises, and thus the Kansas City Football Royals were founded. BRANDING And here are the primary and a couple of the main wordmarks/insignias for the football Royals, the logo and insignia were part of a modified Fiverr commission, I assembled the wordmarks and the font used was Valerius Expanded I created so many extra wordmarks and insignias that they had to be on separate slides FIELD AND UNIFORMS The Royals would play their home games at GEHA Field which is most the recent sponsor to own the naming rights to the football Royals stadium which in this universe, looks like Arrowhead but with blue seats and never once having the name "Arrowhead". ROYALS FOOTBALL STADIUM NAMING RIGHTS HISTORY Royals Field (1975-1977) IBM Field (1978-1987) Pizza Hut Field (1988-1996) Nextel Field (1997-2004) Sprint Field (2005-2008) Verizon Field (2009-2019) GEHA Field (2020-Present) The uniform set has 7 total uniforms, with the Powder Blue, Gold, and Black being a tribute to the baseball Royals' powder blue alternates, the Royals turn ahead the clock uniforms in the 90s, and the black alternates in the 2000s. UPDATE: As per request of @MJWalker45 I have changed the jersey numbers from Valerius Expanded to a more legible font in Superstar M54. And here are a couple of extra fields, that were designed these include home fields with gold, powder blue, and black endzones, plus a Super Bowl field. I had a lot of fun designing this and with all these new alternate history concepts being on the front page, I thought it would be a good idea to strike while the iron was hot and drop this one. Comments and critique are welcome as always!
  7. The first week of college football is finally here and I thought I'd celebrate the beginning of the season by starting a new thread of college football uniform concepts. A couple years ago I realized I've done concepts for high school, non-college football, and NFL teams but none for my favorite sport, College Football. I've been working on these concepts off-and-on for 4 years but (like many people) I've had way more free time in the last year to create more concepts. Now this is a bigger project than anything I have done because this is not only for FBS teams but FCS, D2, and D3 teams as well. My problem with my past concepts on here is that I start a topic before all of my concepts are actually done but not this time. I have all the FBS, FCS, and D2 teams completed, and about half of the D3 teams completed. It's been tough creating unique identities for smaller schools that I hadn't even heard of but it's been fun and I'm excited to post my concepts. I'll start out posting the FBS teams first and then go FCS, D2, and finish with D3 posting in random order. Since I am a little bias I'm going to start with my favorite team; Wisconsin. FBS: FCS:
  8. I know they are not changing their logo. Here's a concept I created keeping the same colors and adding the Silver and Columbia blue, a nod to the Oilers in the text. The decal and sleeve design include the team's first season, the football and the moon, honoring the Space City and the first word said on the Moon. Any feedback is welcome. -Oz
  9. Believe it or not there is college football outside the FBS. A place to give these teams some recognition. Here is the NCAA Division 3 bracket. https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/football/d3/2023 And here is Division 2's bracket. https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/football/d2/2023
  10. Howdy everyone - Well the XFL season is almost over, and while I've enjoyed most of the games I've watched I'm not crazy with most of the unis. I do like that each team's primary color is different, the problem is.. they all kinda suck. So here's my attempt to fix it. As a challenge I wanted to make sure each team was unique, so no two teams share a primary color or the same color helmet. Also, I've expanded the league to 12 teams (I guess this would only make sense if they merged with the USFL): To make the league slightly more unique, it would be broken down into three four-team divisions, a 14-game schedule, and a 4 to 6 team playoff: There will be some relocations, new color palettes, and of course a few new teams. Can you guess who is who? I'm just gonna go from left to right starting with red: DC Defenders XFL East Despite having two pairs of red pants for some reason, DC still has one of the better looking sets this year. So this one doesn't change much, I removed the marbling from the helmet and put the alt logo on the helmet. Added white pants with a floating stripe just to switch it up a bit, nothing too crazy for this first one: Next up: the maroon team. Who's it gonna be?
  11. Why hello there everyone its me Bass. Today marks the first post in a what if scenario that came into my head when I was just thinking one day.... you see Arena Football may of bitten the dust in the US ((Don't really count China's league per say because China doesn't exist in Football in general)) but considering the whole Amateurism in the NCAA is now officially over and athletes can now be sponsored again, the NCAA realised that they are in legit trouble. This has not stopped the penny pinchers from considering Arena Football as a means of retaining control and that is what they did... today is the start of what if the NCAA brought back Arena Football? PREMISE The rules of College Arena Football is essentially the same as Arena Football... a reduced squad, smaller venues and more importantly no FBS teams... all of them including the independent teams turned down this idea because they all thought it was a hot fad and another league rejecting Arena Football is the Ivy League... those stuck up pricks laughed at the idea... Teams accepting this are Non D1 schools, D1-AA schools (FCS) and a mixture of D2 and D3 schools as not all of them can afford the reduced rates. There will be 256 teams in 16 divisions of 16, 4 in each region... divided into East, North, South and West.... top 2 of each region advances to a elimination bracket where all roads then eventually will lead to Las Vegas. The following divisions are as follows: New England, Apple, Capitol, Atlantic, Great Lakes, Wolverine, Great Plains, Ohio Valley, Southeast, Coast, Gulf, Lone Star, Southwest, Rockies, California and Pacific. The first team today takes us to the New England division where it consists of Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont... all of the Northeast States and this first team is literally the latter: VERMONT CATAMOUNTS
  12. Inspired by actual Club Football which is where the likes of Vermont and Milwaukee still exist with names such as Pitt and Ohio State, the idea I figured was essentially bring in around a minimum of 12-16 teams from the North region and the South region (like USFL) but have a mixture so it's not just big names... so I figure I would start off with a team that refused to go into Arena Football but was essentially coaxed into this league by backers who wanted to see a long standing rivalry re-establish themselves... We begin with a side known for their multiple claimed national titles. YALE BULLDOGS Yale has prestige, has class, has arrogance... essentially one of the older clubs that are entertained by the idea of a league that goes up against their old foes but also big clubs as well. There will be no teams from the West in this.
  13. It's apparently been a full year since I've posted any concepts here, and I'm getting withdrawals. one of my favorite sports games is Football Manager, and I almost exclusively play Park to Premier style playthroughs in which a team from the very bottom of the pyramid is picked, and you try to get promoted all the way up to the Premier League and continental tournaments. These playthroughs also have the added effect of exposing me to a lot of smaller teams and their terrible, terrible crests. Since the game is extremely moddable, I like to take it upon myself to update the crests for these teams. I've shown off a few of these in the past with my Oxford United and Wolves designs. There's not going to really be any rhyme or reason to the designs other than they're smaller teams who's designs I wanted to update. I also realize that these teams, despite being small, have storied histories and passionate fans, and I want to design a logo that recognizes and respects these histories. First up, the team I'm leading to glory, Banbury United! Banbury is a semi-pro team founded in 1931 have existed almost exclusively in leagues you've never heard of, but in 2022 they made the climb to the Vanarama National League North. Their logo depicts what appears to be a lego minifigure dressed up like a puritan. My update takes this general design and makes it look more human, giving the figure clear eyes, a nose, and a mouth as well as adding a mustache, because I'm from New England and every depiction of a puritan I've ever seen is John Carver, so you're stuck with it too. I did try to keep the general blocky style, but modernized the overall shape of the crest, with a new simplified banner and the hat extending beyond the bounds of the roundel. The jerseys feature a double pinstripe hoop pattern that I've used in my playthrough, and features Nike as the kit manufacturer and Sophos as the jersey sponsor, two brands wildly above the stature of Banbury in real life, but I have them in the EFL Championship in FM, so they make sense in that regard.
  14. Just something I was playing around with. Not strictly a concept, I guess.
  15. This process started back in 2020 during the pandemic, but I kinda shelved it when I started my AUIA series. The idea is pretty simple, Orange County (FL) has 22 high schools, all ranging from 1,500 to 4,200 students, meaning all of them play in either the 3M or 4M classifications (the two highest metro classifications, more info on that here). Having been born and raised in Orlando, I have many ties to most of these schools, including having played against many of them either in high school or against their feeder AAU programs. The goal is to create an update of every school. This ranges from simple updates and corrections that follow previous uniforms and traditions, but update from teamwear designs that most high schools are confined by, all the way to total brand overhauls that introduce new logos and branding (read as getting rid of "borrowed" college and pro logos). As mentioned over in my AUIA series, the uniforms will be on templates using self branded uniforms, something inspired by raysox's Danger Brand concepts. Since the county has only 22 schools, I tried my best to create unique looks for each school, especially in using different helmet colors. This of course wasn't entirely possible, but teams with same color helmets will still have differing color blocking from one another to create a good balance of looks across the conference.
  16. Hello all, and welcome to the Georgia Soccer League 2.0. Back in late 2016 and early 2017, I created a 12-team soccer league based in my home state of Georgia. After seeing @TheGiantsFan , @RevNet, and @jackkmart do some great work on their own state-specific soccer leagues recently, I was inspired to give this a second try with 40 teams this time. Now, let's take a look at the league map. In this 40-team league, there are 5 divisions of 8 teams. The schedule is made up of 46 games (14 against division opponents, one game against every other team). The top two teams in each division go to the GSL Champions League Group Stage, where two groups of 5 play home-and-home matches. The winner of each group plays in the Grand Final at Mercedes Benz Stadium to decide the year's GSL Champion. Lastly, I want to give a big thanks to @Jaffa for providing some excellent and up-to-date kit templates! Completed Teams:
  17. The CRDesigns Soccer League (yes, really) is a fictional soccer league made by yours truly that is hosted in the CONCACAF region. Each part of the region will be given 20 teams (North, Central, Caribbean). I won't be posting them in any particular order, since I plan to simulate a group draw for fun once im done. Looking to grow a lot in my Football design experience here so C&C and suggestions are absolutely appreciated! The templates that I will be using in this series are from SportsTemplates, Fifakitcreator, and a couple free ones I located on Pardosport. Without further ado, here is the league logo to start off! It is definitely simple, but I like the charm of it for now. I'll be making changes based on the feedback I get in the future. And the first team: Fresno FC! Fresno's logo takes very heavy inspiration from their flag, using the gear, the sun, and the plant that are all found within it. Their kits are primarily black and light blue, with 2 different pattern designs (Gradient stripes and chevrons). Please let me know what you think! I'm fairly new to making football concepts, I normally stick to hockey, but have found a new passion for the sport and their designs.
  18. After several months, I was finally able to get this concept realized, because I always thought it would be cool if my Kansas City Chiefs were to have a wolf as their logo, I think it would make a whole lot of sense considering we have KC Wolf as our mascot and the fan section in the old Kansas City Municipal Stadium used to be called "The Wolfpack", So with some help, I was able to assemble a full concept for a wolf-centered Chiefs rebrand. The wolf logo was a Fiverr commission, and I think he did a pretty good job with this, I assembled the wordmark and insignia logos with the font Siegra. As for the field and uniforms, I assembled the field by using the default Arrowhead Stadium field as a base, and the uniforms were drawn up by one of my friends in the Kansas City Chiefs Discord server. Overall, I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, and it's finally been realized, Go Chiefs!
  19. Hey everyone! I'll start by saying that these concepts/ideas have just been sitting on my computer for as long as I can remember. I've redone some of these and evolved them to the point where I think I'd like to share some of them and get some input. Some logos are original, some are edited png clip art turned into logos, some don't even really have logos, just uniforms. I've developed stories for some of these teams as they intertwine with my fictional baseball league (that I haven't touched in a while, regrettably). I don't know how much I'll post. I just want to share and hear what people have to think. I call it the North American Football League. A hybrid game that combines Canadian rules and American rules. Multiple leagues combined during either the mid-50s or early 60s to create this league which include an East Coast League, a Midwestern League, a Pacific Coast League, and obtaining a few clubs from multiple regional leagues. I don't really have a timeline created for when all these things happened, just kind of a ever-evolving league incorporating ideas of what I think is cool. Teams play in soccer-specific like stadiums that can hold either 40,000 or 20,000. The league does not have a Nike or Adidas sponsor, but some fictional brand that I haven't come up with a name yet. But it's not that important. I'd like to imagine that the season starts in August and ends sometime in December or so. Haven't really put much thought into the semantics. Some have a ton of history, while others are merely an idea with a rough uniform idea. I have about 32 teams in mind but would like to maybe kick it up to 36 or 38. I'll probably never end up reaching that number, but the ideas are there. The first team I'll show are the Minnesota Oxen. The Oxen began as the Bemidji Bulls back sometime during the 1910's. They had a great success, defeating other larger football clubs in the league including teams from the much larger Twin Cities, Chicago, Detroit, Winnipeg, ect. while also capturing multiple league titles. They are basically the Packers of the NAFL. At some point during the 50s, with murmurs of the NAFL being created, the Bulls moved down to St. Paul and became the Minnesota Oxen. They never forgot their roots however and every Thanksgiving, they don the old Bulls uniforms and travel up to Bemidji to play at Chet Anderson Stadium. As someone who has done multiple broadcasts at Chet Anderson (WSU Warrior football on KQAL, represent!), my reimagined Chet Anderson has a better press box and can seat about 10,000. While their stadium in St. Paul is basically a larger Allianz Field at around 32,000. Their biggest rivals are Winnipeg, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Detroit. The logo is the Babe the Ox statue in Bemidji with a oval and an M plastered on top. I have thought about redoing it so give me some ideas. The "Bull Blue" comes from the old Bemidji colors and works as more of a tertiary. The more lighter "10,000 Lakes Blue" makes up the ox. The "Beach Sand" color is more-so a secondary color. This'll start it off. I hope you enjoy.
  20. The news of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers updating their absolutely terrible uniforms has gotten my creative juices flowing to create something new for the 2020 season. The Bucs have had two great color schemes in their history. Both the creamsicle/red and the pewter/red/orange color schemes were truly inspired and the original Jolly Roger logo is damn near perfect. There is a rich visual history to draw inspiration from for a new uniform and logo package. With the relative futility of the franchise for the last 20 years in the pewter and red, I thought it was time to move on to a third era of color for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The new color scheme features their trademark pewter, but the color has been tweaked to be less brown and more gray. It is paired with the current shade of creamsicle orange and a color I’m calling Bone White, an ever so slightly creamy white (I know @BucsBoy02 has a great concept here too that uses cream, but I swear the idea came up independently, not trying to piggyback on his ideas). The new logo takes a lot of inspiration from the skull and crossed-swords of the original Jolly Roger flag. I made some tweaks of my own to freshen it up a bit, but that logo is great, IMO and it doesn’t need a ton of work. The biggest change I made was removing the flag all together. I think the Skull and Crossed-Bones is great on its own as a primary logo. I also designed a custom word mark and numeral font with some design cues taken from a classic pirate cutlass. The uniforms are pretty straightforward. Orange and white never touch and the pants and sleeves feature a striping motif based on the swords from the logo. I wanted to keep the uniforms simple to let the bold colors speak for themselves without being interrupted by intricate striping patterns. It is difficult to communicate in a flat presentations such as this, but the helmet is intended to have a high gloss metallic finish. I also included both grey and orange socks to avoid the dreaded yoga pants situation where the pants match the top of the socks. Thanks for taking the time to have a logo and I’m looking forward to any and all feedback on the logo, colors and uniforms.
  21. Here, I'll be posting a few NFL concept uniforms I've created over the years. Pretty simple stuff. I'm relativley new to the digital design, so if you have any constructive criticisms or suggestions, be sure to let me know.
  22. The new IRL logo for the Seattle Dragons of the XFL is an big upgrade from the previous, IMO, but here are my tweaks, plus a new alternate logo and some jerseys! The rendering of the dragon face is so well-done in the '23 logo, so that's kept. The odd random spikes of the mane kinda ruin the S shape IMO, so those are removed in favor of a more streamlined, symmetrical S shape. I liked the counter-colored belly on the 2020 logo, so I bring that back but in white and with the belly stripes of the '23 logo. I do like the patterned striping and number styling of the '23 jerseys, but I cannot get on board with a Seattle team not wearing primarily blue or green. I think the Dragons had it almost right with their 2020 home jersey; having just that small touch of orange shoulder trim was gorgeous! I bring back a lot of those jerseys' ideas for my take. Instead of a complete logo like on the '23 uniforms, the helmet has the dragon bursting from the edges like on the '20 uniforms; this time on a blue background. That orange trim becomes a pair of flames, which also form a negative space silhouette of mountains in front of a sunset, all above a sea of green. This is also the basis of a new football-shaped secondary logo. C&C appreciated! Thanks for checking it out!
  23. I think you guys would call me crazy if you knew just how many projects I have in the pipeline at any given time. My wife thinks I have ADHD, just in the opposite direction of her diagnosis. I don't know about that but she might be on to something. Anyways, I'd been scraping the barrel for things to work on. I've got two projects that are somewhat on-going but pretty massive in relative scale. I needed something to fill in the gaps and not let my creativity lapse, which is how I get designers' block which is good for no one. Anyways, I wanted to jump into the NFL for a third time, but I just didn't feel like it yet, but I was feeling football with college starting and the NFL starting up right after. So I turned my attention north of the border, and decided to take a stab at the CFL for the first time. With some deep history in the league as a whole and of course with the 9 teams, it felt like a good warm up to segway into an NFL series down the road. So for this series, I'll be using a Nike template, though like the New Era jerseys, the Swoosh moves to the back under the collar. Also playing around with a new helmet template after many successful runs with the Revo Speed. Every team will have four uniforms: Home, Away, Alternate (that doesn't have to just be a color swap, looking at you NFL), and a Heritage uniform. Something between a straight throwback uniform and an NBA mixtape uniform. You'll also notice a CFL logo that you don't recognize on the uniform images. It was set to be a new league logo, but I didn't like it compared to what it would replace, but it will serve nicely as a good project logo. We begin in the West, in Beautiful British Columbia (the CFL team I'm closest to): BC Lions - Home & Away - the Lions seem to be in this constant struggle between being an orange first team or a black first team. They started off in orange. Then went to black. And back again throughout their history. I felt the team should continue to embrace the orange over black on their jerseys. For the design. I went back to stripes based around the uniforms around the time the team won their first Grey Cup. Helmets - Black and white. ( I couldn't see any verbage in the CFL's rules about helmet limits, akin to the now repealed one helmet rule in the No Fun League but found nothing, but self-imposed a two helmet limit that I'll try and follow as best I can). Iconic BC lion logo on the sides of both, with both helmets now carrying the triple stripe debuted a few seasons ago. Jerseys - Like I said above, back to a classic stripe on the sleeves, in a way, similar to the Cleveland Browns' stripes. Went with a pretty classic block font for the name and numbers. Pants - Mirroring their helmets, the pants also have the triple stripes down the sides, BC monogram on the hip. Socks & Cleats - The Lions have three sets of socks, all three striped. A rule I'm trying here is that teams can wear either: all white socks that MUST have a stripe or the classic color above white socks that CAN be striped but aren't required to. Plus cleat options for each uniform. BC Lions - Alternate & Heritage: Alternate - For the alternate uniform, breaking away from the stripes on the jerseys and went with something similar to what Baylor football did some seasons ago, with the classic paw print logo becoming the feature of the jerseys, and also giving us a look at the team's black pants. Heritage - Our first entry in the Heritage category. Let's break er down: Helmet - Comes over almost entirely intact from the team's first Grey Cup winning team in 1964 Jersey - Jersey starts out orange, from the 1972 season with the northwestern stripes on the sleeves. You'll also notice the inverse colored TV numbers on the shoulders. Also of note are two smaller stripes both on top and below the NW stripe on the sleeves. Those homage the earlier 70's teams, who rocked a whole lot of stripes on their sleeves. Pants - Silver worked its way into the Lions uniforms around 1969 and stuck around for a long time after that. The pants celebrate that. Socks & Cleats - Black socks and black cleats. Felt classic for a classic style uniform. BC Lions - Apparel - I had a lot of fun designing apparel towards the end of my PLL series, and thought I'd keep it going for, probably the foreseeable future. For the CFL teams and, right now, the BC Lions, just a small sampling of apparel. From a simple hat to things like coaches polos and quarter zip jackets, to player and more active gear like shirts of varying sleeve length to hoodies and shorts. C&C welcome! Really excited for this one!
  24. As we approach another NFL season I thought I'd share some concepts I made some time ago. I thought I'd start with the Commanders, even though I think we can all agree they nailed it with their new look, here are a few ideas I had based on using the DC flag striping. Let me know which one you prefer: This is the closest to what we got while staying close to the old look. Added a black facemask and some black trim to the stripes, that way we can shoehorn in justify a black alt. Yellow pants would also be an option and maybe a yellow helmet too. This is an idea for if they went with the Redwolves name: replaced the yellow with a brighter red and added gray. Adding gray is probably a little too Cowboys to be realistic but this palette gives me USFL vibes which I kind of like. And now they’d share colors with the San Antonio Commanders, so it’s like the AAF never crashed and burned. This could work for either the Commanders or WFT name. Replaced yellow with a darker, brassier gold and added the three stars from the DC flag to the jersey (which could be replaced with a wordmark). The helmet shifts from gold to burgundy like the old Jaguars black/teal helmet or that Arizona State alt helmet. If they would’ve stuck with the WFT name: the faux-leather helmets were great, so let’s make them the primary. You get a unique look without being too garish, and sure brown and tan aren’t in their palette, but is it any worse than adding black? Gold pants would also be an option along with the tan and white. I have pretty much every other team done already, I'll post a few teams every couple days or so.
  25. Hello, it's my first time in a good while doing a logo series, but I thought I had some stuff worth sharing. This little series is based on the premise of the owners of the Milwaukee Bucks deciding to expand on their sports holdings and launch expansion teams in various other leagues. I have dubbed this hypothetical enterprise the Deer Sports Empire. Currently, aside from the Bucks they own the Wisconsin Herd. I will be leaving the logos for those teams as is, partially because I really like them and partially because the idea is the owners are launching new teams with similar branding touches (colors, font, etc). I also will not be touching MLB or giving them an NFL team as there's no world where those things would happen. These are the teams and leagues I plan to do so far. A couple are already done or close to finished. As suggestions (hopefully) are made and new ideas come to me I may add to this list. If anyone has a team in a league they would like to see, feel free to make suggestions. I dont have uniform templates for all the different sports so I'm just focusing on uniforms right now.
