    Western Michigan Baseball Concept

Hey guys, Back with another baseball concept. Currently my school, Western Michigan, wears some Adidas template baseball uniforms that are ok but not great. So I searched around and decided to make a concept based on their uniforms from the mid to late 80s under MAC coaching legend, Fred Decker. Let me know what you think! Jerseys are modeled by current big leaguer, Adam Rosales.
  2. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a download of the modern jays font. I had to reset my computer and I lost all my fonts if anyone would be willing to share it thank you very much. P.S I have a Mac, I'm not sure if that makes it different.
  3. One of the most popular concept threads on the boards are the "MLB Tweaks". Inspired by that kind of series, I decided to do the same with the LVBP (Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional / Venezuelan Professional Baseball League). The main current problem with the style of Venezuelan teams is that they have abandoned the classic White/Grey combination for the uniforms, thing which I don't like at all. Apart from that, in my opinion, some teams don't have the best look or uniforms. That's why I decided to tweak the league of the country where I was born. I'll be making changes to the 8 current teams and I'll add 4 brand new clubs. Given most of the people here may not know the teams from the LVBP, I'll write a bit about each club on the posts, and about the corresponding city/state for the expansion teams. This is the list of the teams (those underlined are the expansion ones) and the map of the league: División Central / Central Division: Leones del Caracas / Caracas Lions (Caracas, Capital District) Navegantes de Magallanes / Magallanes Navigators (Valencia, Carabobo) Tiburones de la Guaira / La Guaira Sharks (La Guaira, Vargas) Tigres de Aragua / Aragua Tigers (Maracay, Aragua) División Oriental / Eastern Division: Bravos de Margarita / Margarita Braves (Porlamar, Nueva Esparta) Caribes de Anzoátegui / Anzoátegui Caribbeans (Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui) Mineros de Guayana / Guayana Miners (Ciudad Guayana, Bolívar) Salineros de Sucre / Sucre Saltmen (Cumaná, Sucre) División Occidental / Western Division: Águilas del Zulia / Zulia Eagles (Maracaibo, Zulia) Cardenales de Lara / Lara Cardinals (Barquisimeto, Lara) Llaneros de Barinas / Barinas Plainsmen (Barinas, Barinas) Petroleros de Táchira / Táchira Oilers (San Cristóbal, Táchira)
  4. I think we can all agree that the Arizona Diamondbacks have one of the most messed up looks currently in the Majors: the alternation between the Red/Black and the Teal/Black schemes, the dark grey road uniforms and the diamond pattern (I think that, despite being a good idea, there's something off about it). That's why I decided to make things simpler: I took their current logos and wordmarks, and used the club original colours (making a mix between the original Turquoise and the current Teal, and using the cuurent Sand shade instead of Copper). I also decided to use a design inspired by the 1998/02 alt uniform for the sleeves and pants trim. This is the result: Do you think these are any better than the current uniforms?

    Ireland Baseball

The World Baseball Classic this year was AMAZING and totally exceeded all expectations I had for it. I was listening to an interview with Dodgers' pitcher Brandon McCarthy, and he brought up the idea of an Ireland team. Obviously, the baseball presence in the country isn't strong, but McCarthy said they could probably put together a solid squad by using American born Irish players. This got me thinking about the possibility of Ireland in the WBC. I looked up Ireland baseball and saw that while they do have a team, their logos and uniforms are pretty ugly. So I hit the drawing board and whipped up this
  6. Well, after seeing @FinsUp1214's MLB series, it got me inspired to make concepts again. I've tried to learn other art programs, but I always end up getting flustered, so I've chosen to stick to what I know for this series: MS Paint. Anyways, the 1st team: The Anaheim Angels. Seriously, the "Los Angeles" & "of" aren't needed at all. For the Angels, I wanted a set that was different but also showed history for the team. I decided to use the 1971 logo as the basis for the concept as I've always adored that logo. The jerseys themselves are a blend of the 1960's, 1970's, The "Angels In The Outfield" set & the 2007-Now jerseys. As for each colour, it's a blend of RBG values from each era that creates the Navy (They've used 3 different shades), Grey (2 variations, but also mixed with the light blues used by the team during the 00's) & Red that these Angels wear. I also feel like the Angels are a team that can pull off dressing in various setups, so I gave them 3 hats to wear. I also decided Navy was best to use on the Road given their love of using the current reds at home. Let me know watcha think & maybe give me a suggestion on who to do next. P.S. Does anyone know if I can get any MLB fonts somehow? I can't seem to find any.

    Sandlot League, Moonman Baseball Club

With the MLB season starting today many local sandlot leagues will do the same. I thought this might be a fun opportunity to make my Sandlot League team's new logo into a concept of a new MLB team. So far I made our logo, we have been using these 2 logos since 2013. Later (I'm working on it now) I will post a full MLB style uniform concept of my SandLot team, The Moonman Baseball Club. Please C&C as I go!
  8. Let me start by making something clear: This is NOT my concept and I claim no credit for it. I tried to find a thread with this via search and could not. Now that that is out of the way, This is a concept by Jesse Alkire that I found via Dribbble. I thought that everyone here would really appreciate it. There are some aspects of the concept that on paper would seem hokie or minor league like (topographic elevation lines as pinstripes)... but they REALLY work well and I could imagine seeing them on the field. Here is the link to his page and some images from the concept. ***Well just figured out that Jesse IS a member here... sorry for posting your work. This can be taken down if need be.***
  9. As some of you probably know, Uni-Watch ran a Redesign the USA Baseball contest this past week. This was my submission. It was a little rushed, but I was happy with the overall look of the uniforms.
  10. I've wanted for a while to do a redesign of the Midland Rockhounds logo, so as soon as the right idea struck me, i got to it. Their current logo is incredibly tacky and outdated, and needs a change really soon. So, i took the idea of Rockhounds and tried to add a little more meaning to it than just a dog with a rock, and instead i made a more realistically proportionate bloodhound with a coal miner's hat, which i envision becoming the symbol of the team and a big souvenir item. The shape behind is meant to represent a mine and the colors have a more Texas feel than before, and more appropriate for mining. Old: New: What do you think of this update for Midland? C&C much appreciated as always, thanks!

    Orem Owlz set

Owls fly mainly at night...and the lunar cycle is often marked on calendars. So a while ago, I was looking at a calendar, and thought it'd be a good idea to somehow incorporate it into a uniform. So here we are. Home/Away set Alternates I figured I'd keep things semi-normal aside from the lunar cuffs (a theme I would have gone with for Asheville if I hadn't been revisiting the Hawaiian shirt angle), if only so you aren't as speechless as you were in my last baseball post.

    Miami Marlins Redesign

So, I recently became aware the of the Miami Marlins batting practice logo, and let me just say, I'm a huge fan. Such a big fan that I would like to see it become their full time logo, which is the direction I went in with this concept. I used Brandon Moore's excellent Nike template, which I first became aware of through the Neat-O Gang, and completely eliminated all the extraneous colors from their color scheme, focusing on just orange and sky blue. Home- As with all the jerseys, I used a blue hat and helmet with orange brim and blue socks. The main accent pattern is a simple two toned stripe on the sleeve's edge and the side of the pants, and the #OB stays similar to their current with 3D effect, because you know, Miami. Away- Identical design as the home. Alternate 1- This is the alternate I envision as being their main alternate, worn both at home and on the road. Still very similar to the previous two, with white numbers with orange shadow. Alternate 2- I don't really like when teams have two similar alternates, such as the Marlins do, so I shook up the Orange jersey with the recolored M on the left breast, blue sleeves, and the Flag of Miami as a sleeve patch. I would envision this as being only worn at home, with it having a "Miami Pride" kind of theme. What do you think of this new look for the Miami Marlins? Upgrade, Downgrade, still meh? C&C appreciated as always, thanks!
  14. I have been watching this site and/or any number of others for some time, and I have come up with some proposed all-time teams and/or team names for various teams in various sports. In this thread, I will mainly start off with all-time teams, and describe the aforementioned sports universe here. Before I get started, however, I must also say that I may have seen certain names for possibly fictional teams all over the Internet that may have been made up by others, and if I happen to have borrowed some from any of you, I may have gathered them unconsciously, or forgotten where I got them from over the years. If I have done so unknowingly with any of your known team names, please keep that in mind. At least partly due to my Asperger's Syndrome, I am also rather forgetful at times, unfortunately, so please forgive me if I don't remember where I may have seen or gathered the names from, and state where I may have done so, at times. Okay, time to get started, folks. I will start with baseball teams and/or leagues first, whether such teams and leagues are real or not. And I will, at least at first, mix players from various eras of franchise histories, and some players may be assigned to certain franchises other than their own main real-world ones for various reasons, including possibly their main teams having no available roster slots for players on their all-time teams, for instance, More about this sports universe will be revealed as time passes, if and when possible. I will welcome opinions about my picks of players and coaches/managers for said teams, et cetera, as long as they are respectful, courteous, civil, constructive, non-threatening, and non-profane, et cetera. But I will not consider any opinions that are not those things, if I don't have to, either in relation to this post/thread I'm making now or any others. I welcome your suggestions, as well, if they meet the above criteria as well. And I can certainly take justified criticism and well-founded correction, I'm sure. The first team I will reveal my envisioning of an all-time roster for, folks, is the Boston Red Sox, from a version of the American League in my sports universe. I will try to go alphabetically by teams in leagues, when possible, as I reveal my hypothetical all-time teams for various franchises, et cetera. for that matter. Please feel free to give your opinions of my picks for players, et cetera, as you wish, then, as requested. But please remember to keep them as appropriate and as clean, et cetera, as possible, folks. Boston Red Sox (Managed by Joe Cronin): OF Ted WIlliams OF-1B Carl Yastrzemski 3B Wade Boggs OF Dwight Evans OF Jim Rice 2B Bobby Doerr SS-3B-2B Johnny Pesky SS Nomar Garciaparra P Cy Young P Roger Clemens C Carlton Fisk P Luis Tiant P Tim Wakefield P Pedro Martinez 1B David Ortiz 2B Dustin Pedroia C Jason Varitek 3B Frank Malzone 1B Mo Vaughn OF Dom DiMaggio P Bob Stanley P Jonathan Papelbon P Mike Timlin P Derek Lowe P Ellis Kinder In this universe, there is also no DH present, for instance, unless otherwise stated, when it comes to baseball or softball, so the pitchers WILL BAT except where I say otherwise. Many of the classic teams will not be able to have all their best players on their rosters, especially with teams like the Yankees, due to the stated roster limit of 25 players. Although I may decide later to add enough players for a 40-man roster per applicable baseball team. I had at least some difficulty picking players for this roster, and with other rosters as well, for reasons including not enough space for certain playing positions on said roster, of course. But I still tried to pick the best possible ones for this roster and certain others, just the same. That is all for now, I think, from this Turtle Pilgrim. I will post at least one of my ideas about a possibly suitable Chicago White Sox all-time roster later, possibly as early as Saturday, if not sooner, I think. Depends on how quickly I can manage it, and depends on how many responses this post/thread gets, at least, most likely. Turtle Pilgrim out. P.S. Unless otherwise stated, certain teams will stay in their classic locations, and I have not yet decided when this universe's starting year is, or starting years are, for various leagues, et cetera. I would welcome any number of well-thought-out suggestions, however, I believe, regarding such, folks. Turtle Pilgrim out. P.P.S. The image you have probably all been waiting for is here: I do not yet know how many of these uniforms I will be able to do without help, though, unfortunately. For the away version of this, imagine the pants and jersey parts, except for the stripes, are gray where you see white, at least for the main areas of the uniform. The font is Augusta. I will not likely be able to do an away version of this uniform, seeing as the image in question was saved on my computer as a JPG file, and then uploaded to DeviantArt as such. So you will probably have to imagine it in your minds, based on this. I got colors from Colorwerx as well, in terms of the RGB numbers, at least, folks. Hope you like this try here, still, though. If anyone might want to help me out here, in terms of creating the artistic renditions of uniforms for teams I will mention, please let me know, and I will see what happens. I can certainly try to do the writing part as best as I can, and then we'll see how things go, on the artistic side, whether I do other uniforms or not as well. Turtle Pilgrim out.

    Colorado Rockies Refresh

The Colorado Rockies changing their primary logo from the mountains to the interlocking CR is a lateral move for a brand than needs to be refreshed. The core concept is strong but it definitely feels dated. So here's my swing (sorry) at a Rockies update. Silver is eliminated from the logo and purple takes center stage. The mountains are cleaned up while still feeling rugged. The proportions of the new logo and the old are almost exactly the same--I designed the new logo on top of the old one--but the half roundel is thinned and the ball is given a clear launching direction, breaking through the atomosphere. I designed a purple monochrome version of this logo which I think looks better, but since I do plan to use black in the uniforms , I felt it'd be better to have black feature in the logo as well. My biggest complaint of the Rockies current set is that awful font. I hate how it looks like the CR is silver with a too thick black inner outline. The new CR originally had a black outline but thinking on some classic hats (Yankees, Dodgers, Reds) a solid color on a contrasting color looks great by itself. Again, in addition to refreshing the look, the goal is to make the new bold purple the main character. Proportionally the new CR is just a little taller than the old. Wordmarks use the same fonts as the primary and don't look like a too thick black inner outline was applied. Cool! Uniforms coming soon but here we are!
  16. Here is a fictional baseball team concept for a team called the New York Classics. I am using Inkscape for the first time so I wanted to choose a name that I could make a simple logo for. The whole goal is simplicity while still having a good logo set. Please tell me what you think. Uniforms are to come.

MLB Hat Designs -- Phillies (added 3/2)

After two full re-designs (NFL & NHL), I've decided to take on a less daunting project and just have a little fun. This thread is simply just MLB cap designs. I will be doing designs for all 30 teams and some extra defunct teams. I'll be creating 9 different caps for each team. There is no real rhyme or reason to any of my designs. They're simply just what I was feeling at the moment. As usual, I'll give a brief explanation of each design and why I did what I did for the respective team. As always, I'm open to ideas from any of you or what you'd like to see. Once completed, I may go back and add jerseys for each. But, for the time being, I'm strictly sticking to the caps. Some elaborate and others will be very traditional. Lastly, there's no specific order I'm going in, so if you have a request of what you'd like to see next, feel free to shout it out. That being said...here are the first two teams. San Diego Padres I may fall into the majority on this one, but when I think of the Padres, I think brown and yellow. It's unique, and quite honestly I think works well for them. Most of these caps are based around that color scheme with the modern SD logo. I did throw a few in there with the blue and orange of the 90s (personal preference). If I had to choose a primary, it would be one of the three on the top row. The others would be BP/Throwback ideas. Boston Red Sox Boston is one of those classic teams. Again, if I'm going primary, it would be the top left design. Keeping it simple. The rest are mixed and matched color schemes along with some retro logos.

    United States Baseball League

This is the USBL. The United States Baseball League is comprised of 32 teams. There are 4 divisions, (North, South, East and West) with 8 teams in each division. Team names and designs are inspired by the 1900’s - 1940’s baseball era. The USBL has a 100 game season. Each division winner makes the playoffs. There are also 4 wild card spots. Each division winner automatically gets a 1, 2, 3 or 4 seed. The teams with the next four best records will get the 5, 6, 7 and 8 seeds. Request -- Texas Rangers

I always loved this old school Rangers logo!!! I'd love to see that brought back to life with up to date western fonts and colorization's along with adding in our updated TEXAS and a cool new baseball and hat. I bet as I'm saying this, someone on here could blow us away with something amazing!!! The Rangers may get fired up and realize it was greatness all along!!! Maybe even do some variation versions (with some black, reversed colors, etc). I tried to post this the other day and it got erased and I was told it should be put under request...so, I hope this is the correct format.

    USA WBC Jersey Redesign (Updated)

Hi guys, Let's be honest here, the Team USA baseball jerseys aren't the prettiest in the world. I've never loved them, but never hated them. In my mind the US should have some of the best uniforms in the world, considering they produce some of the best names in baseball. With the 2017 WBC jerseys being released is the past few weeks (and me being beyond happy that baseball is back), I completely reimagined their jerseys. I came up with this idea in class this week, and the first thing that started the whole design was redoing the wordmark. I took probably my favorite font and put USA in red, then added a white drop shadow and a blue below that one. That way it can seem like the script has some depth without making it look muddled and cluttered. I continued that onto the hat logo which is shown with a blue U on the style portion of the sheet, even though on the hats it is a little different (the 2nd drop shadow is red, the 1st is blue to blend in, and the U is white). The U and S interlock much like their current hats though I removed the star from the back and added some more tweaks. It also includes a blue brim and cap. The numbers also follow the same pattern as the front to create unity throughout the set. One of my favorite parts of the whole design, and very much an example of trying something crazy and having it look fantastic, is the sublimated stars in the wordmark, hat logo, and numbers on the back. This way the jerseys can be unique to the USA without having a flag inserted in everything, like some of the recent holiday hats the MLB has done. The away jersey is just a gray version of the home. Both have blue sleeve stripes, a blue stripe down the pant leg, a USA flag patch on the sleeve, and a WBC logo patch on the back. Also, in the style guide presentation I created, it has a blue practice shirt and coach's polo with the Alt logo, as well as a red fan t-shirt with a white and blue version of the USA script. C&C is greatly appreciated, and enjoy!

    Milwaukee Brewers Recolor Concept

This is a project I've actually had for awhile. I decided to take the Brewers current logos and put them with the old Brewers colors. I only used Microsoft paint for this so yes it is a little low quality on some of the logos. Feedback appreciated!

    Seattle Mariners recolor concept

Hey all This is my first post and this is a little something I did in Microsoft paint. I recolored the Mariners logo and replaced the teal with more of a bright green. The 2 logos in the top right are the cap logos, couldn't decide which would fit better. Feedback would be much appreciated!
  23. Here is a small introduction, you can skip and go right to the uniforms if you'd like, but it all started when I was pretty young. I bet right around 10 years ago I created a fictional university based out of Grand Rapids, MI that I would create paper ice rinks and paper players and play games with it. As the years passed, the idea grew more and more becoming an entirely fictional-based college sports world called the NACA (National Association of Collegiate Athletics). I will not bore you with the specifics of that, but it's basically a 200 team world. When NCAA Football 2011 came out with TeamBuilder, everything changed. My fictional university which was just based on notebooks, now became something I could design and play games with. Southern Michigan University (known as the Knights) and the Great Lakes Conference became a reality. My 13 year-old self went online to find a logo (which I cannot identify and am no longer able to find it online, good thing I have it saved) and came up with this primary mark. This whole thing has evolved into probably over 100 files of different information from year by year results, to all-time draft picks. As I've gotten older I created a few secondary logos which I use throughout most teams. Here is a few quick notes before I show off the uniforms; Nike took over as the official athletic apparel provider for SMU in 2014, Nike began incorporating Battle Scars design into most of the teams uniforms this past season (you'll see it throughout all the major teams). Without further ado, here is what my life rotates around! Basketball Football Due to space concerns, I'll just show you the uniform schedule for this season. You can find 2015 here (http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/drewstone7/media/Screen Shot 2016-11-14 at 9.11.12 PM_zpszqkymrp2.png.html?sort=3&o=2) 2014 (http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/drewstone7/media/Screen Shot 2016-11-14 at 9.11.29 PM_zpsy4qjgtdo.png.html?sort=3&o=1) It's fun to see how your skills progress from year to year. My personal favorite is the 1985 throwback we wore twice last season. Baseball Hockey

    Montgomery Biscuits Cleanup

So, the Montgomery Biscuits have IMO, a 6/10 logo. My logo ranking is made is made up of two parts, Idea and Execution. It gets a 10 for the idea, but a 2 for execution. I mean you know you have a bad logo when the outline widths are noticeably different on the SAME detail/shape. This is probably more of a tweak than a full-on rebrand, but they're still more than 1 RGB step up on a color. I made the outlines consistent and tweaked the colors a little bit. If you don't know here's their old logo And my edition No fancy sheet right now. The uniforms I would like some feedback on the hands because I'm unsure how to make a good fist but I don't know how both hands open looks. Other C&C welcome though!

    Falcons Concept Logo

Before I'm away for the weekend, I thought I'd leave you with this new design and a few thoughts. I was recently inspired to draw-up a falcon image and while working it out I chose to think metacognitively about my process. What follows are a list of some of the thoughts that were........thunk. 1. Lets see what a falcon looks like Search for falcon images 2. Falcons have big eyes and a small beak compared to eagles and hawks, that's a distiguishing feature Draw out the shape of a basic falcon head 3. An angled pose would be most dynamic Search falcon in stoop or stooping falcon stooping is a funny word Add more slant to composition 4. They almost have an innocent look to them 5. Try to keep some of the innocent look 6. I wanna keep that ring around the eye, that's a distiguishing feature 7. Since the eye doesn't have much anger, what makes them scary? They are FAST..... lightning shapes They have a black colored eye... no yellow in the eye itself like hawks and eagles, that's a distiguishing feature Search falcon screeching 8. Erase closed beak, draw in open mouth 9. Keep dark portion of beak, that's a distiguishing feature 10. Work in the dark shape in the feather colors on the face 11. Huh, that doesn't look half bad References used:
