  1. Sports has been a part of my life since the beginning. One of my biggest interests in design is sports identities. When I was young I was often drawing a team logo, colouring in a jersey or creating my own versions. In mid–2016 I took on a 70 day challenge for a project I was doing in school. I knew this would be tough to handle so I decided the make it more suitable to my interest. The goal of this challenge was to redesign an existing sports logo every day for 70 days. Each logo redesign involved preliminary research about the team/city, sketching out all my ideas on paper, executing a digital version through Illustrator. I ended up creating a booklet with small rationales for my thinking, design choices and overall thoughts on the project. Sportslogos.net was a place I went to every day to discover new teams to redesign.

    Falcon Logo (Updated 2/7)

So to go along with my re brand proposal to my high school, I am making a Falcon logo which is our mascot. I have the general shape down to what I really like, but am struggling with all the little details. Included is the vectored shape, and the sketch of what I have so far! I could really use some advice on this.

    Willingboro Chimeras Rebrand

I'm making a concept redesign of the Willingboro High School Chimeras. I thought the mascot was very unique and would be challenging. i was kind of in the dark because there aren't many teams with this name. The current logo is very outdated and you can't really tell what the face is ( a chimera is a mythical animal made up of a lion, goat, and snake). I'm planning on doing a full body logo and other partial logos. Any tips and feed back wanted.
  4. I am trying to create a solid brand for my High School, Catalina Foothills to propose to the AD. I have emailed him, and he told me in person that it is on his radar for sure. So far I have gotten a basic idea which was hand drawn, and then I digitalized what would be the secondary mark which is the CF monogram. Down the line I hope to create a solid Falcon logo, as pur current one is very outdated! Colors: Royal, Silver, White, Black (sometimes). The black in the case looks much better for right now. (I may go a different route with the "font style" but for now this is it. Current Logo:

    LA Chargers Logo Concept

Hey guys, I've been seeing all of the new concepts for the LA Chargers logo on here and all around the internet and figured I'd give it a go. I tried to make the logo type match the word mark to keep the style consistent. Comments and feedback appreciated.
  6. James Madison University, an FCS team in Virginia, has refreshed their logos to flatten them out a bit. No major changes, but just some updates to bring them into 2017. Old: New: Old: New: They have also debuted some new wordmarks, in addition to the JMU logo released above:

    Baltimore Ravens Logo Concept

I never liked the Ravens' current logo. In addition to being ornithologically incorrect, it has always struck me as comically aggressive and cartoony in the way only a late 90s-early 2000s logo can, failing to capture the moroseness, gloom and majesty the raven ought to convey for this identity. And to that I say, nevermore! With this new mark, I wanted to get away from the bird side profile that gets used so much in sports. Instead, I opted for a stronger monogram of a B and an R combined in an Old English font, something that would look traditional and would fit in with an Edgar Allan Poe sort of theme, whose poem "The Raven" is the team's namesake. As a matter of fact, I believe I could easily find such a mark in many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore. I also created an alternative mockup that emphasizes red over gold, as I think that would look more menacing and build on the horror theme: Now, I hope some C&C comes a tapping, as of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
  8. This is a concept for a fictional NHL Team. Figured I place it in Mexico City just cause.... More details on my behance page. Feel free to critique!
  9. Hello once again, everyone! If you've been on the boards for some time, you may have seen me post concepts like this before. I've done MLB, I did NFL, and recently, I asked on Twitter which one I should tackle next. How it works is: imagine if every team in the league got a rebrand/refresh. New wordmarks, new primary, sometimes, new colors. Sometimes old throwback colors! Who knows?! Traditionally speaking, I have not done uniforms for the rebranding effort - but, if someone wanted to do that, you're more than welcome to. Just be sure to credit me for the work I've done. But without further ado, here's the new look Raptors. __ If you're just joining us, here's what's been up so far: Toronto Raptors (EDITED) Boston Celtics Fauxback Los Angeles Lakers (EDITED) Phoenix Suns (EDITED) Washington Wizards WITH TIMELAPSE VIDEO! Some Random NFL concepts

Happy 2017 guys! So I have begun studying graphic design in college, meaning that I am beginning the dive into Adobe Illustrator. I am really excited to get serious about something that I have always loved, so to kind of celebrate the transition, I wanted to show a couple of unfinished NFL MS Paint concepts I created. They were originally intended for a complete NFL refresh/rebrand series I was planning, but between school, work and other responsibilities I never had the time. Some will be completely new marks, while others are more like modernizations/tweaks. Anyways, without further ado, I figured I'd start out with one that I am pretty proud of, the Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings logo is really unique and interesting, and while the 2013 logo did a decent job modernizing it, I really wanted to take that a step further. One of my first goals was to create a consistency between the horn on the viking's helmet in the logo and the one seen on the football helmets, and I really like the result. I also wanted to streamline the color scheme a little bit, which explains why I recolored the logo in both the classic scheme on the left, and my proposed new one on the right. I think most of us would agree that the black is superfluous for the Vikings, so I removed that. Another common complaint with the Vikings logo is that the helmet doesn't contrast well enough with the hair, so I decided to take that as an opportunity to add silver as an accent. I think it looks great when paired with the deeper purple and yellow I brought back from the throwback uniform. However, the classic option is provided as a comparison, and I am interested to see which you guys will like better. Anyways, C&C is welcome and appreciated, and I may be able to expand on some of these if there is enough interest.

    Wofford College Terriers Rebrand

I'm back with another rebrand! (I just can't give up can I?) This time, I was looking at college logos on the site and come across the atrocity of an identity. You guessed it, the Wofford Terriers caught my eye. It's utterly pathetic that a Division I college can't even manage to have a logo that looks better than your average clip art drawing. So I endeavored to tackle the design challenge before me and update the Terriers. I plan on doing jerseys eventually. To start, I redid the college logo. I used Edmond Sans bold as a base for the font, but I edited it to give the vibe of the original. As for the new logo, I essentially just improved on the anatomy of the terrier. You'll also notice I swapped the colors on the collar. This is my favorite logo of the package. I considered making it the primary, but I'm not really sure. C&C always appreciated!

    Owl Sports Logo Design

Insomnia Sports Logo Design Hello everyone! Derrick here from DaseDesigns.com back with another Sports Logo ! This was a recent logo design project for an eSports team that wanted a much needed update to their previous mascot! They felt their logo was far too rough, unattractive and unclear and needed a more professional approach. They were needing something more clean, concise and simple while still closely relating to their previous owl mascot. This was the Goal for our project and here is the Solution! We hope you all enjoy.. If you'd like to see more, check us out on Social Media: Facebook Mock-Up Templates provided by: Yellow Images

    Chicago Fire Logo Concept

Hey Guys! It has been awhile since I've put up a concept, so here we go. This is a concept for the MLS Chicago Fire. I tried to make it more modern so it can fit with the new "feel" of the MLS. I kept a few touches from the old logo and some from around the MLS. I hope you guys like this one! C&C Welcome! Thanks!

Greatest Football Helmets of All Time

Hey guys, so this is officially my first thread on this website (so don't mine the errors)! For my first thread I decided to start a topic about football helmets. I believe there was a thread about this a while back aswell. I know it sounds kinda lame, but i've always been intrigued by the football players helmet and/or face masks. So i guess ill start off. I've always been a fan of Dennis Dixon's Helmet and Facemask when he played for the Ducks. Mike Vicks helmet as a rookie on the Falcons was also pretty amazing. And lastly, DJ Shockley's helmet as a Dawg. Hope to see some replies and to keep this thread going!

    NHL: Canada's 150th Anniversary

I've been hearing a lot of rumors about the Ottawa Senators holding an outdoor game to commemorate their 25th anniversary as well as Canada's 150th anniversary. I decided to make a concept logo that resembled the Winter and Heritage Classic logos. Hope you enjoy, C&C appreciated
  19. Hey everyone, I worked on fixing up the Canes into something they I wish they would wear. The design incorporates elements from their new and old jerseys... I also attempted to make a new wordmark for the team but I'm not sure if I like the way it came out. I'm relatively new to designing concepts and using illustrator so C&C is welcomed! High School Logo Update

Quick story, I went to college in a small town in Texas called Nacogdoches and their high school team is the Dragons and I didn't care for their logo. They used the Mortal Combat dragon in the state of Texas. So I did a little tweaking to catch it up to the times and to not poach another logo. Let me know what y'all think. Old Logo My Concept

    Salisbury Seagulls Identity Rebrand

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and would like to give a formal greeting to you all! I would also like to see if I could get some ideas/ creative criticism for this logo I designed just as a side project for Salisbury University. I recently graduated and was never really happy with the original logo (Which you can find online; it's like 50 years old hahaha) . I wanted something that kept with our original seagull but was strong and iconic for our university. Let me know what you think!

    NBA Logo Re-Designs

My design goal was to create a simplistic style for each team. Of all of the redesigns I have seen, They don't differ enough from the originals. I like a simple style but I also appreciate the current designs. Take the new rockets logo, it is a simpler version from before. I plan on redesigning all of the current and some past teams
  23. Updating my logo! I retired from fantasy football in 2012 after a successful 25 year run, but an unexpected opening in the league I founded in 1988 (I've been out of that league since 1994) has lured me out of retirement. So that means the Dark Piranhas are back, and I need to get some merch made before the season starts! And more specifically, that means it's time to update my logo. I've had the current one since 2006 and it's time for a tweak. Here's a pictorial history of my logo from its inception in 1988. While I cringe a little at some of the earlier elements, they are now part of the Dark Piranhas legacy, and while a complete overhaul was an option, tradition wins out, so the new version must pay homage to the history and heritage, no matter how unfortunate some of those earlier choices might have been. A little history to keep in mind before diving too deeply into C&C: Over time, the Dark Piranhas came to represent me in any sports-related endeavor, either fantasy, or coaching little league or playing intramural. While the color scheme has been predominantly silver and black, starting in 2006 blood red was added in various capacities (sometimes a dominant color like in the sample helmet, sometimes only as an accent). The logo itself has evolved from a crude fish-head in 1988, to adding some head spikes and putting it in a roundel in 1990, to a full-body fish with over-exaggerated teeth in 1994, to the sharp, angular style it acquired in 2006. The one consistent element in all iterations has been the pair of gills. The eyes started off a more realistic round before becoming more sharp and angular and basically, the shape of a V, which is what my first name starts with (Victor). In fact, the 2006 version of the logo was reverse-engineered starting with the eye, which was the one element I definitely wanted to keep. I liked the overall look of the 2006 logo, but one consistent problem was my early decision to make the fins and teeth separate elements from the body, almost like paper cutouts. Looks okay in usage or over any color except black or white, which required me to put a stroke on it,but the black stroke didn't work on the body, and a white stroke didn't work on the teetch. Plus those cutout shapes made any stroke look really wonky. It was a mess! The bottom image of the history graphic shows my Oregon-inspired set of helmets and uniforms for 2012 (my retirement season). So here's my first version of the 2016 update: With my latest iteration, I've kept the basic look, but streamlined it and simplified it. First, I reconnected all the fins and added a couple of head spikes back in honor of the 1990 version of the logo. The biggest change I made was making the teeth black. I thought that it would really bug me, but I quickly grew to like it. I also elongated the body a bit and skewed its angle a bit to give it a more aggressive feeling. The three versions above differ only in how the teeth are presented. (A) has them separated as in my 2006 logo. It still allows for a legible stroke. This also allows me to color them white in some usages of the logo, such as over a solid color. (B) has the teeth connected to the 'lips' allowing the entire logo to be self-contained. (C) moves the 'lips' back to where they are more of a suggestion, making the teeth and jaw a more singular silhouette. The bottom graphic just shows how the whole thing looks stroked. I'm more or less happy with it, but I'd very much like to hear any feedback. Of the three versions above, I have a personal preference, but I'll let you guys weigh in. Thanks in advance!

    3D Helmet

Hey guys, I've been looking at the stuff on these forums but rarely post. I'm in a fantasy league (on steroids) where we use helmets to brand our team. I discovered the 3D Helmet tutorial Davidson posted in the forums a few months ago so I tried it myself. After weeks of trial and error I figured out if your brand new to photoshop it's not that simple to use. I am wondering if anyone who loves doing this stuff and is good with photoshop would make me one. I am naming my team the Parlor City Phantoms. Probably a red/black/white color scheme but am open to ideas. You guys are the artists not me, lol. I have a few logos I found that are nice but can't figure out the helmet tutorial. If you are interested please let me know. It'd be really appreciated. Marc - windsorpg@yahoo.com
