  1. I always come across cool sports memorabilia and never know where to post it, so I figured this topic deserves its own thread! Post any unique sports memorabilia you find, whether it is online or from your own personal collection! This item is up on eBay and I found it super interesting... a team-issued jersey, custom-made for Angie Harmon, the now-ex-wife of Jason Sehorn: Probably a gift from the team after this awesome TV moment:
  2. I was going to post this in the "Players in the Wrong Uniform" thread but didn't know if it should be there. Baseball and hockey have a rarity, that is until the G-League takes off and every team has an affiliate, in that players can come up and be sent down for a variety of reasons. It's always crazy when you see your star players suiting up for your farm teams. I got this idea when I searched for Ryan Braun while he was doing his rehab assignment in Appleton as a member of the Timber Rattlers as seen in this video.... http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=1536087683&sid=t1174 As well as seeing the picture of David Ortiz playing for the same team when they were a Seattle Mariners affiliate. These aren't necessarily the wrong uniforms, just rare occasions. Are there others out there like this? What's even more rare about the above video is that it was also a famous MiLB "one off" night. Are there any others like that?
  3. I've begun collecting logos that I'd like to update. The first one I did was an old amateur hockey team logo, and I posted it here. This time I thought I'd try to get a bit more elaborate. Here's what I started with: And here's my update: Let me know what you think! PS: here's the rest of the logos I'm currently going to try to work with: pinboard. Let me know if there's one in particular from there you'd like to see or if you have any suggestions. I'm not currently planning on doing requests like Ren, but I'll definitely consider suggestions.

    Scrubs in Stars' Jerseys

Simply put ... the thread is of scrubs (or lesser caliber players) in jersey numbers a same team where an All-Star or HOF made that same number their own. Here are a few examples from the NBA ... E.C. Coleman, New Orleans Jazz Sidney Green; San Antonio Spurs Steve Kuberski; Boston Celtics Cazzie Russell; Los Angeles Lakers Rowland Garrett; Chicago Bulls.
  5. Welcome to what is now my first completed concept series, the NHL City Mashup Series! In this series, I will be taking the identity of each NHL team and combining it with the identity of another team (different sport) in that team's city. Some rules I set for myself were Team must be in either the MLB, NBA, NFL, MLS, or CFL. The jersey must be in the style of the NHL team's jersey. The other team's colours will be the ones on the jersey. The fonts should be either the official team's font or a close matching font. Teams: Anaheim Ducks (Angels) Arizona Coyotes (Cardinals) Boston Bruins (Celtics) Buffalo Sabres (Bills) Calgary Flames (Stampeders) Carolina Hurricanes (Charlotte Hornets) Chicago Blackhawks (Cubs) Colorado Avalanche (Nuggets) Columbus Blue Jackets (Crew) Dallas Stars (Cowboys) Detroit Red Wings (Tigers) Edmonton Oilers (Eskimos) Florida Panthers (Heat) Los Angeles Kings (Dodgers) Minnesota Wild (Twins) Montreal Canadiens (Expos) Nashville Predators (Titans) New Jersey Devils (Jets) New York Islanders (Nets) New York Rangers (Knicks) Ottawa Senators (Redblacks) Philadelphia Flyers (Eagles) Pittsburgh Penguins (Pirates) San Jose Sharks (49ers) St Louis Blues (Cardinals) Tampa Bay Lightning (Buccaneers) Toronto Maple Leafs (Raptors) Vancouver Canucks (Whitecaps) Vegas Golden Knights (Raiders) Washington Capitals (Wizards) Winnipeg Jets (Blue Bombers) without further adieu, here's the first mashup, the Anaheim Angels in the style of the Anaheim Ducks. (Yes, I am aware they aren't the Anaheim Angels, but heck with that) C&C is appreciated! I am also considering doing throwback jerseys for each mashup, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the idea.

    MLB by Nike (Marlins Up)

Everybody knows the news that Under Armor will be taking over the MLB jerseys in 2019, but I had the idea to think of a world in which Nike was running the MLB. This is that world; vibrant, creative, and very unique. Some of these designs will be off the wall, while others will put a modern, yet classic twist on timeless jerseys. This is my first major project, and I fully intend to complete this to the very end, so constant C&C will be very helpful and appreciated. I have no particular order for which I will be unveiling these teams, basically whatever comes to mind for me, or if you'd like, you can request a team and I'll see about getting to it! First up we have the Miami Marlins. What I've done here is tried to create a blend of the old logo set and the new one. I boiled it down to just three colors, black, orange, and light blue. Occasionally I will use gray as an outline or accent color, but those are the main three. So without further ado, here is the first set of logos for MLB by Nike. Thanks for looking and C&C is greatly appreciated.

    City Mashups (NBA,NHL,NFL,MLB)

I'm not sure how exactly it started, but months back I was wondering how certain logos might look if that city had all their teams with similar colours, so I decided to do a mashup of all the teams in the major 4 pro sports leagues. Meaning how might the Boston Celtics look with Bruins colours and vice-versa. For the most part the early criteria is that they need to have the same city name(EX-Toronto Blue Jays/Raptors/Leafs). So even if some might be in same city(like Oakland A's and Golden State Warriors) I didn't do those ones just to save some time. If people want me to do more, then let me know and I'll do more. Ones like NY,LA,Chicago who have many teams, I might do later. Some I skipped because their primary logo is just too plain for this to really work(such as Indians and Pirates logo where the logo is basically just a letter). A fair amount I also didn't do if I felt the colour swap wasn't so noticeable and was nothing more than a slight difference in colour tone(EX-Washington teams red/blue). Some swaps I find look nice(like ones attached here) while others not so much(O's under Ravens colours, Bengals under Reds colours ect.), but I still did them just to see how they all look. If there are other requests you would like for me to do or see some that are missing, feel free to post it here and I'll do my best to complete it. My next project might just be colour swapping current/past logos of a teams history for those who have had notable changes, such as Brewers,Stars among others.

MLB | Texas Rangers Logo Modernization

I decided to modernize the current Texas Rangers identity. I always thought they have a good set of logos, but, since they've rebranded in 2003, they also aged over time. Current Texas Rangers primary mark 1 – Primary logo: No more drop shadow on the "T" initial. Bolder lines and a slightly broader typeface. New baseball seams. The two stars are now separately placed on a white background. 2 – Secondary logo: A modernized version of the 1994-2002 alternate logo. The two shades of silver are no longer part of the Rangers color scheme. 3 – Alternate logo: A revised version of the current alternate Texas flag logo being used on the Rangers uniforms. The bevel on the lone star has been removed, as well as the color silver.

    Milwaukee Brewers Concept

Have not posted a concept as of yet and I thought I'd get into the game. Here's my take on the Milwaukee Brewers. I gave them the Blue Jays treatment. Updating their classic look by tweaking the font. I kept the current look drop shadow as I feel it has a 'beer label' kind of feel more-so than a standard outline. Used the BiG as the sleeve logo but gave them a simple 'M' as the hat logo. CC appreciated as this is my first attempt. If this goes over well enough I may do the rest of the league.

    MLB World Series Concept Logo

NCAA Tournament is winding down, MLB Opening Day a week away or less, and the release of MLB The Show 17 tonight, I thought it would be fun to show you a World Series Concept Logo I've been working on. World Series Logos from years past My Concept for the 2017 World Series: A navy and steel blue gradient diamond with a red interior outline and white bases and home plate. Four pennant flags (four because two didn't look like enough) I guess you could say the four stand for the following: 1 to represent the NL, 1 to represent the AL. 1 for the NL champion and 1 for the AL champion (but I think that's reaching a bit). The World Series in a "Championship Gold" and "Autumn Brown" gradients. Date in white above, and the MLB league logo at the bottom. Improvements: - Wondering if MLB league logo should be a bit smaller to center with home plate. - I had a baseball logo that I was going to put in the two pennant flags but didn't look right to me and wasn't sure where else to put it. - World Series seems like it's not truly centered, which according to my program I use it is, so maybe it's my eyes playing tricks on me. As usual, C&C appreciated. (The timer on MLB The Show 17 on my PS4 is moving so slow...)

    MLB Concept Uniforms (16/30 Done)

Here are my Concept uniforms for the MLB! C&C is always appreciated! I will be keeping each of the logos that the teams have now, just changing some colors around. Enjoy!
  15. As mentioned in my previous Texas Rangers concept, I've been wanting to take on designing the MLB for a while. I finally have some work to show for that and, though I only have a few teams started, wanted to start putting some stuff out there and get some feedback! Just a few things first before I begin... WHAT TO EXPECT: - This is not necessarily a full-scale rebranding series, but rather a series devoted to presenting my "ideal MLB". There may be one, two, or possibly three cases where I blow it all up and start a team over from scratch, as that may be what I feel is the ideal route for said teams. But what you're mostly going to see here is minor to moderate changes which are aimed to take what I believe to be an already good-looking league to an even higher level (because there's still plenty of room for a few teams to improve). - I've got Finals coming up within the next couple of weeks, so the pace may potentially not be as fast as other series' as there will be days in which I'll have no time for designing. However, even if it's a team a week, I'll post them here and will keep the thread rolling at whatever pace I can until summer (and a whole lot more time) opens up! - My hope and intention is to tackle each team, so please don't worry about requests; your team will be addressed in their due time! ? Anywho, let's get started! Batter up, Minnesota! I semi-liked their recent changes, even kind of liked their addition of gold (kind of). BUT, I liked the pinstripes and red text/numbers a whole lot better. So we're going back to pretty much that at home. To road features the old block script from the late 80's-00's roads, but instead of pinstripes I'm going with a classic panel piping and double piping on the sleeves. I just loved the way it looked and felt it worked well for a classic look. The alternate is a tad more colorful, as the red cap gets paired with a navy jersey and red triple stripes find their way to the socks as a means to balance out the red and navy a bit more. The logo is just basically the stripped version of their primary, with roundel, "Minnesota", and "Baseball Club" removed. I've just always felt it was an unneccesary addition and think simple is better here. Alright, let 'er rip!
  16. There's something that's bugged me for years about the Mets' jerseys - the interior point of the "M" is out of alignment with the general upward sweep of the logo. Can you see it? Look at the interior point of the "M". On the whole, the logo has a pleasantly hand-drawn vibe to it. Small imperfections are a feature, not a bug. But this crosses the line from "charming" to "stupid". When first introduced, the Mets' jerseys had a perfectly balanced version of the logo, with the "M" point following the same upward sweep. Shortly thereafter, though, it got out of alignment. This photo of Ed Kranepool comes from just two years later: And it's been wrong to a greater or lesser degree ever since. What really kills me is that they've got a perfect wordmark in their set already - it's included in the primary logo. Used on its own, it doesn't have the angle problem that hurts the jersey script. The kerning is a little tighter, but that doesn't bother me. The jersey script has to account for the placket spacing between the "M" and "e", and that's a relatively minor difference. So that means Mets have two versions of their script - one used as a general wordmark and an inferior one used just for the jerseys. I can't ever un-see this.
  17. Here's my (second) attempt to give Cleveland Baseball a better primary. In the past the team has worn a Reds-style wishbone C, an angluar "Caveman" C, A serifed Block C and Wahoo: My goal was to incorporate the team's visual history into a single mark which would nod to the team's past and push it into the future. The idea is that it could work if the team chooses to stay with "Indians" or go with something else in the future. Thoughts?

Taking a dip into the world of MLB batting helmets Here are some interesting concept for hydro dipped helmets. I personally like the Yankees, Pirates, Astros, Diamondbacks, and Padres.

    MLB History Poster

So I made this chart to show the expansion/logo changes of MLB teams since 1901. I know something similar to this has probably been done before. I figured I'll print this out on 2'X3' paper for myself and hang it on the wall. Just thought I'd share! If y'all have some sort of C&C let me know. I'm going to be making some other ones (different leagues, maybe cities?) over the Summer. (I know creations are typically under the Concept section but this just didn't fit.)
  20. So, now that I got the Miami Marlins off my chest, I figured I should tweak the other teams that have been bothering me too. Nothing bothered me as much as the Marlins, but it doesn't take much to aggravate me...sadly. The next team I wanted to put a paint brush to was San Diego. Like most, I feel they should be going back to the brown and yellow colors. I on the other hand want to put more emphasis on the brown and keep the yellow to a minimum. I have no issue with their current word scripts and uniform style, I just feel the brown and yellow would look better. So with that in mind, here is my version of the Padres. The away has a grey that has very slight orange tint to it, just to give it some warmth with the brown and yellow. Then there is the Home alternate. The big trend of having the logo over the heart/left side is not missed on the Padres. I'm currently working on a brown top alternate for the road as well as a new main logo that will combine a few era's logos with the swinging friar as the center piece. How does that look? C+C appreciated.

    Arizona Diamondbacks Fix

When the Diamondbacks unveiled their new uniforms, and I--like most of you--was not a fan of what they did. I was surprised, however, when I read the comments on Paul Lukas's critical article about them on espn.com: a majority of the comments were very supportive of the new uniforms and were very critical of Lukas's opinions. It was very interesting to me to see the difference in how these boards at CCSLC viewed the uniforms from how those who post on espn.com view them. It reminded me that we tend to dislike bizarre new uniforms while the (young) general public who post on espn.com (and don't think about uniforms as much as we do) embrace them. And we have to realize that we who notice uniforms to the degree we do are a very small minority of total fans, and the number one goal of these redesigns is to sell merchandise. Anyhow, I decided to try to "fix" the new Diamondbacks uniforms. The goal was to take what they did and make it more palatable. If I would have been hired by the D-backs to design their uniforms, they would not look like this; but my goal for this project was to take what they unveiled and improve it. Many of you will think it is like putting lipstick on a pig, but I enjoyed the challenge. I took inspiration from Brandon Moore's Fix-It-Friday series that took current looks and tried to improve them while staying true to the original vision of the club. What I Like • The decision to try something new. They--along with the Rockies, Rays, and Marlins--don't have long histories and can get away with looking for unique and modern elements. (I have no problem with the Marlins redesign for this reason...not the biggest fan of how it looks, but I can appreciate with what they are trying to do.) • The snake-head logo. I loved that they brought this guy back from their first look. • The dark gray road uniforms. When I first saw them they were presented on a black background, and I thought they looked like a mess. Seeing it away from the black backgrounds really helps these; I like the darker color and think it will look good on a ball diamond. I especially like how the turquoise on the alternate pops; this is my favorite jersey of the bunch. The turquoise would look muddled on a standard gray. What I Don't Like • The different color schemes. How can you effectively build a brand if you can't even decide what colors you want to wear. Arizona is now a black, turquoise, and red team some days and on others say they are a black, red, and sand team. Pick one. This seems to be terrible branding to me. If your fans can't tell you what your colors are, that's a problem. I went with red, black, turquoise, and silver. The sand color did not work with the turquoise, but I needed another accent color to balance out the brightness of the red and turquoise. The fans seem to really embrace the turquoise, and it is unique. They can build a unique brand with this unique color scheme. • The truncated pant stripe. Why, oh why? This is just awful. What I Like But Don't Like • The snakeskin. I like the idea, but the execution is off. The pattern looks nice and I like that they tried something new, but the different colored shoulders look bad...is that dandruff? And it's also under the armpit and on the pants. Even the execution on the alternate hats isn't really good. • The wordmarks. They are an improvement over the last set, and I especially like the Arizona mark. But there are issues with the D-backs mark. First of all, I'm not a fan of using a shortened version of your team name on your uniforms. The problem is Diamondbacks is too long, but D-backs is too informal for a jersey. Then again, these jerseys aren't the most professional to begin with, so I decided to leave it on my redesign. I'm also not a fan of the K; it looks like an H. Again, in the end, I decided to leave it as is, though. My last issue with this mark is that the K has a fang, but there is only one. The Arizona mark has two fangs--as any good rattlesnake has. The D-backs mark is unbalanced. I did fix this is my redesign; here is my updated mark: As you can see, I fanged the B to make the mark balanced. My Fix Logos I did make some subtle changes to the D-Snake logo. I made the negative-space diamondback pattern on his back pointed instead of rounded. Hats As you can see, I kept the halftone diamond pattern, but I started it on the bill instead of the panels of the cap. This way they take a common baseball look (the contrasting bill) and make it their own. The halftone pattern would continue a short ways onto the panels of the cap. Uniforms I liked the more subtle sublimated diamond pattern on the alternate home and road sets, but I don't like the abrupt end to it at the shoulders. I decided to have the high density part of the pattern be in the middle of the back instead of the top so that there wouldn't be the abrupt division between the lighter and darker colors. I did begrudgingly keep the weird pant pattern. I'm not a fan, but I decided I would prioritize changing some other things instead of that. I only wanted to change a few things. As you can see, I did add the pattern to the socks; if anyone wears high-cuffed pants, they should still rock the pattern. The team would match their shoes to the color of the pattern on the pants (or socks). They can also match the four hats (not the snake-head hat) and undershirts, belts, and socks for diversity. Alternate Uniforms I decided to go with the D-backs script on the black alternates because I love how the turquoise looks on the black, and the black alternate they use would minimize the turquoise. I used the diamond pattern they currently use but flipped it. Now it takes a look we have seen before--contrasting colored sleeves with a vest--and makes it their own. The snake-head hat can be worn with the alternates. As a reminder, this is their look: As I said earlier, if I were starting from scratch, this would not be my suggestions, but I do think that it greatly improves their look. If you have interest, you can check out my redesign of the Diamondbacks when I combined their previous eras. I used a black and aqua color scheme, and then I experimented with purple and red.
  22. Greetings All! After loving and enjoying the concepts section for ages I've decided to start my own MLB series. I'm using paint but I've tried to make these as clean as humanly possible. I'll be doing all 30 MLB teams, going by division, releasing a new team every week day. Any sleeve patches or interesting sleeve details can be seen in the little window above the stirrups. More complex or integral sleeve features like numbers or patterned designs will be put on the uniform. I've tried to make each concept feasible while also taking a few risks. Most of these will be minor tweaks, fixing annoying details in otherwise great designs. For a few teams I've made big changes. All comments and criticism are welcome. I will try to cite best as possible if I've used a logo I found anywhere other than on the main Sportslogos page or if there's a design out there that I think is just better than what I've done. Thank you all! Let's start with the Atlanta Braves: The Braves have two good home looks in their white and cream kits and its a real case of overload. So I've looked back to the Hank Aaron Milwaukee Braves and combined them into a single set. Simple navy piping (including belt loops) now coexists with the tomahawk wordmark. I love the dark tomahawk from the 50's and I've incorporated it here along with the socks striping from that era. I noticed a while ago that you could use the cross bar on the capital "A" in Atlanta and extend it so it for the cross in the "t." I've seen it done elsewhere a couple of times so this is my attempt to create that effect. For an alternate I've combined the early '70s feathered sleeves with the satin uniforms worn by the Boston Braves in the '40s for a brighter more colorful look, especially for night games.

    Cleveland Indians Concepts

Hello, This is the first time I've ever done a concept. It is rough, but i hope you guys like it. So, the MLB wants Cleveland to get rid of Chief Wahoo. Their current logo is boring, plain, and doesn't say "Indians" Here are the logos and uniforms! Hope you enjoy! This is their current "C" logo with some feathers attatched This is and old "Indians" on their current jerseys with the block C and a new hat. Current Away jersey with new C, and hat
  24. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a download of the modern jays font. I had to reset my computer and I lost all my fonts if anyone would be willing to share it thank you very much. P.S I have a Mac, I'm not sure if that makes it different.
