  1. It's probably about time to start this, so I'll open it up with this pic I was shown today. That Nike logo is MASSIVE. There's a possibility that this is a prototype uni, but either way, the Nike logos will be on the tops and shorts next season (along with ads on the opposite side of the top for some teams). Not a great start for Nike here. Hopefully the rebrands they plan on spear-heading will make up for some of the other issues. Can't wait to see it all unfold!
  2. If mods want to move posts from the 2016 regular season thread into here, that's fine. OR NOT, DO WHAT YOU WANT COACHES DENVER: Adam Schefter has reported that Kubiak is potentially stepping down as the Broncos head coach. No confirmation but if he says it, it's inevitable. Says it's for health reasons, but other reports say that Elway is more to blame. SAN DIEGO: Chargers will fire Mike McCoy within a day or two; they will move to Los Angeles and rebrand. JACKSONVILLE: Jaguars fired Gus Bradley and appear to be on the fast track to hiring Tom Coughlin again, but who knows. CHICAGO: Rapaport confirms Bears won't fire John Fox and most of his staff is expected to return, including defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. NEW YAWK: Jets appear to be keeping Bowles but he'll make sweeping changes to his staff, likely including OC Chan Gailey getting canned. CLEVELAND: Browns aren't expected to make big changes (for a change!) but the coaches will apparently grovel to ownership about big changes to the personnel department in management. CINCY: Bengals will not fire Marvin Lewis (shocking!) but no extension is planned. SANTA CLARA: The 49ers fired Chip Kelly and GM Trent Balke, because that's what Browns West does. DETROIT: Apparently the Lions will fire all these bastards and go after Patriots coaches heavily if team loses division to Packers tonight. Hottest coordinators available will likely be Tom Coughlin, Kyle Shanahan, Jon Gruden, Patriots coordinators Matt Patricia & Josh McDaniels, Jim Bob Cooter Hootnanny Weiner Poop, Mike Smith, and God knows who else. FREE AGENTS, DRAFT, AND ALL THAT CRAP Tony Romo and Jimmy Garoppolo will be the veteran QBs of note shifting around the league. Eric Berry, Alshon Jeffery, some others who I don't feel like researching could hit the market and get huge money. How many QBs with late 1st round or later grades will irrationally go in the top 5 of the draft because OMG WE NEED QBS?
  3. Good evening CCSLC! Now, I do believe that this is attempt number three at redesigning the NHL. However, I am determined to actually finish this time. Unlike other failed attempts, wherein I would design one concept, post, wait for C&C and then move on, this time I've actually completed almost half of the NHL in preparation. I've been working on this project for the past month or so, I've really been having a lot of fun with it and I'm moving at a pretty steady pace so I feel as though I can actually make it through the league. What I really wish for this thread is a lot of active discussion, comments, and critique so that I may hone my skills at designing. I'd like to keep this organized, so I'll get started with some guidelines of what I'll be posting. Also, as a note: I haven't found an Adidas template compatible with the program I use (PAINT.net) so I chose to simply use the Reebok Edge template found in the Paint Users Paradise thread. I have, however, added an Adidas tag to the inside that I drew up. Outline All teams I complete will have some alteration to their logo and/or color scheme that I will point out with each concept. Note: These changes could be as small as a color adjustment to a complete logo overhaul. I will only be posting two uniforms per team: Home (color), Away (white) No team will use more than two logos. This is pretty standard in the NHL. However, we do see teams with all kinds of logos with their set. If I include a logo in the set, it will appear on the uniform. I see no need to include more since this is simply a logo/uniform project and not a complete identity project. NHL shield logos will be recolored in respective team colors. Teams will be posted in no real order, simply which concept I would like comments on at that time. Please, no comments just requesting the next team. Some critique on the concept would be appreciated. Okay, first up: ARIZONA COYOTES - 4.3.17 Logos: I really loved the Coyotes inaugural set. The kachina pattern was very unique to the team and even though it made it's debut in the 90s, it wasn't a concept that was overbearing or gaudy. However, and, as unpopular an opinion it may be, I really like Arizona's current logo and uniform set. I have made some changes to the logo, though. Replacing black is a darker brick red and I have turquoise to the color scheme, drawing inspiration from the art of the Pueblo which is wherein the initial kachina pattern derived. The alternate 'A' paw logo underwent no changes other than, of course, the color scheme. Uniforms: Again, the kachina pattern was my favorite part of the Coyotes inaugural set. The logo to me was fine, but I actually like the current better. I tried my hand at a custom kachina pattern that is only adorned on the hem as I thought that adding it the the sleeves as well made it a bit busy. If you look closely, you'll notice that within the pattern are crossed hockey sticks in the darker brick red color. The shoulders stripes are very loosely based on the current uniforms. Thanks for checking these out! C&C is greatly appreciated!
  4. Merry February everyone. It''s almost that time when the F1 teams release their cars for the upcoming season. Just like in 2015 and 2016 I have made some F1 concepts to tie in with that, which I hope you will enjoy. This year will be slightly different though. I have already created a concept for each team based off a combination of what I think teams will look like - slightly modified to my taste. Once the actual cars have been released, I will modify my designs again based on them and also any C&C that has been given. There will also be some bonus concepts just for fun at the end - suggestions welcome. 2017 will be interesting because of some significant rule changes which affect the design and look of the cars. This has meant a slight change in the template I use. The .png is below for anybody to use. I have created my concepts using Inkscape from an .svg file. If you would like a copy of that .svg then PM me your email address. UPDATE: Basic "Shark Fin" added.
  5. NCAA Tournament is winding down, MLB Opening Day a week away or less, and the release of MLB The Show 17 tonight, I thought it would be fun to show you a World Series Concept Logo I've been working on. World Series Logos from years past My Concept for the 2017 World Series: A navy and steel blue gradient diamond with a red interior outline and white bases and home plate. Four pennant flags (four because two didn't look like enough) I guess you could say the four stand for the following: 1 to represent the NL, 1 to represent the AL. 1 for the NL champion and 1 for the AL champion (but I think that's reaching a bit). The World Series in a "Championship Gold" and "Autumn Brown" gradients. Date in white above, and the MLB league logo at the bottom. Improvements: - Wondering if MLB league logo should be a bit smaller to center with home plate. - I had a baseball logo that I was going to put in the two pennant flags but didn't look right to me and wasn't sure where else to put it. - World Series seems like it's not truly centered, which according to my program I use it is, so maybe it's my eyes playing tricks on me. As usual, C&C appreciated. (The timer on MLB The Show 17 on my PS4 is moving so slow...)
  6. Here are some concepts I did for NBA teams for next year. I hope you like them. Hit me up with C&C. I'll try to post three a day.
  7. Bored. Did stuff.
  8. This is the USBL. The United States Baseball League is comprised of 32 teams. There are 4 divisions, (North, South, East and West) with 8 teams in each division. Team names and designs are inspired by the 1900’s - 1940’s baseball era. The USBL has a 100 game season. Each division winner makes the playoffs. There are also 4 wild card spots. Each division winner automatically gets a 1, 2, 3 or 4 seed. The teams with the next four best records will get the 5, 6, 7 and 8 seeds. 9. Since my last page was shut down by a moderator due to a lack of activity for some reason, I decided to post jersey concepts here that I had planned for the logo changes in my other forum. Note also there are no alternates for the first year: First... PACIFIC DIVISION Anaheim Ducks: Their current alternate is promoted to their Home jersey, while a similar reversed color away jersey is added to replace the old one. The "D" logo remains an alternate logo on the shoulders. LA Kings: Same jersey colors and striping, but the new logo I created in my other forum is added to the front of the home and road jerseys. Other than that, no changes. San Jose Sharks: New logo added onto the front of both the home and road jersey. The old logo on the shoulders are removed. The neck color on the home jersey is changed to white to contrast the blue jersey. Edmonton Oilers: Orange alternate jersey already announced as their new home jersey for 2017-18. No changes otherwise. Calgary Flames: There recent throwback jersey returns as their primary jersey to coordinate the new logo I proposed. An away jersey reverses the colors of the home jersey and uses the primary on the font without a black outline. Vegas Golden Knights: I expect a relatively bland uniform (considering the ownership), at least for the first few years. Black home with gray sleeves and gold stripe. The same goes for the road with an added black stripe separating the gold stripe from the white. The neck laces will be the team's red accent color. The primary logo will be on the front of the jersey. I chose a more classical font, they may choose a modern font, but I think that may look too similar to the old Ducks uniforms style wise. Vancouver Canucks: Same home and road uniforms but the new logo is added to the away, and an inverted version is added to the home jersey. The logo is removed from the shoulders on both uniforms. Arizona Coyotes: No changes at all. Uniforms were also updated last year, so change is unlikely if not impossible. What do you think? Coming next: Metropolitan Division!
  10. The year is 2017. People are not watching football. A dissatisfied Vince McMahon sits in his mansion, thinking. He does some calls and before we know it, the XFL is reinvented. Here is the new XFL logo.
  11. Hey guys, Wanted to take a shot at a new project...this is my first attempt working with Illustrator rather than Inkscape. I'm using my own template (which has been slightly streamlined). I envisioned a new look for the Falcons, whose current uniform has been stale for about a decade. This new set would coincide with the new stadium and is more of a throwback look. The overall look harkens back to the beautiful throwbacks from 1966 with the addition of sleeve stripes. I felt conflicted because I love the Northwestern style stripes they've worn before...I also love the gray pants with the red, white, and black stripe (same as the Super Bowl 1998 team's pants)...but mixing those with the helmet and you have a complete hodgepodge of striping patterns. So I've started from the helmet and the throwback pants stripe and expanding into a simple and consistent stripe across all elements. I have designed a custom number font. It's somewhat based off of the wordmark font and tweaked but I think it's still rather simple. I have also included an "Inaugural Season" patch on the black jersey, which I'd imagine they would wear for the very first game at the new stadium. Here's the rest of the number set:
  12. With WWE's final PPV of 2016 now behind us, it's time to look ahead to 2017. Feel free to let me know if you think something else should be added to the template: 2017 Royal Rumble Winner: Return of the Year: Biggest Signing of 2017: Most Surprising Departure of 2017: WWE Star Most Likely to Join Another Major Wrestling Promotion (ROH, New Japan, Lucha Underground): NXT Star Most Likely to Get Called Up and Succeed on the Main Roster: Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal Winner: Will The Undertaker Compete at WrestleMania ✹, a.k.a. WrestleMania 33?: If Yes, Then Name The Undertaker's WrestleMania 33 Opponent: Brock Lesnar's WrestleMania 33 Opponent: Main Event of WrestleMania 33: Superstar Most Likely to Switch Brands and Succeed: 2016 Money in the Bank Contract Winner(s): First Time WWE Champion*: Biggest Character Heel/Face Turn: Feud of the Year: Superstar That Will Miss the Most Time Due to Injury: 2016 Slammy Award Winner for Superstar of the Year: Female Superstar Who Will End Charlotte's PPV Winning Streak: How Many Times Will Charlotte Win Back The WWE Women's Championship? LOL, but really: *I asked specifically about the WWE Championship because, seriously, just about anyone who wins the Universal Championship will be a first-time winner.
  13. Not a bad logo for the most part, I love how the Marlin is incorporated into a star. Only complaint is slapping the sponsored Master Card logo on it. I guess in this day and age we better get used to corporate logos on everything - on NBA jerseys. Sure it will happen on NFL, NHL, and MLB jerseys soon.
  14. I'm sure as many of you know that the NHL is going to switch over to Adidas between the 2017-18 season, which means a lot of stripes so don't be surprised if these designs have too many. I'll probably do all the teams Alphabetically but if you want to see your team jersey concept your welcome to ask. If by chance there is a relocation or expansion and the teams starts with a passed letter it will be the one up next and if not it shall follow as previous, and yes I am not really a fan of the Adidas three stripes on hockey jerseys. Anyhow, here we start off with these five. ANA, ARI, BOS, BUF and CGY. C&C are always welcome. (All logos go to their respective owners)
  15. Decided to tackle a concept logo for the 2017 MLB All Star Game which will be in Miami. Had some ideas to make it glitzy with an over the top Miami-style. But eventually led to a simpler clean logo.
  16. There's been rumours about the 2017 NHL Winter Classic maybe being played in St. Louis. I don't know how true those reports are, but when I heard the rumour, I thought of an idea for the logo. So I created a logo for next years Winter Classic, if it is to be played in St. Louis. I used aspects from the Busch Stadium logo, last year's Winter Classic logo, the St. Louis Blues alternate logo (the arch) as well as the Blues colour scheme. This concept was solely based on the potential of St. Louis getting the Winter Classic. If they don't, I might make another logo for the city that gets it. (Maybe Toronto) I had an idea for Toronto as well. I'm pretty new with designing new logos; I'm better at having an existing logo and redesigning uniforms and stuff, or tweaking existing logos, so don't be too harsh. That being said, any C&C is very much appreciated.
  17. hey all, these are concepts for the 2017 all-star game logo (not sure if the logo they displayed during their announcement ceremony was the official one? it wasn't like that for toronto's) & the jerseys. for the jerseys, I'm leaning more towards the west design. so for the east, it'd feature the same "honeycomb" pattern as the west, just with the blue/slate colorway shown in the east jersey diagram instead of the red/burgundy combo of the west. and instead of black letters & numbers with white outlining like on the west jersey, the east jersey will have white print with black outlining, and say "EAST". the letters & numbers on the jerseys are meant to be the same font as the charlotte hornets official logo font, which can be found on fonts101.com as "nba hornets buzz city". the all-star logo is a combination of the skyline of charlotte (top) & a beehive (bottom) inside of a "honeycomb" hexagon. in the top half, the windows of the buildings in the skyline are all lit up, and behind the skyline is a starry purple night sky. the "all-star" and "charlotte" wordmarks are also meant to be in the "nba hornets buzz city" font. the beehive in the bottom half of the logo depicts "stars" flying out of the hive's entrance like bees, and features the "jumpman" logo on the front of it as the event is allegedly being hosted by michael jordan. and the "2017" wordmark is featured in the "tw cen mt" font, on top of a teal background. these designs are not necessarily final, so if any of you are interested in helping to expand on these ideas let me know. thanks!
