  1. Well, the Sounders lift the MLS Cup, and its time to look to the next season. So what to expect? Will the NASL survive? Will the USL take over D2? Will Seattle fans be incredibly insufferable? Will the Cosmos ever pay all those players and staffers their back wages?
  2. Welcome to what (hopefully) is my first completed concept series, the NHL City Mashup Series! In this series, I will be taking the identity of each NHL team and combining it with the identity of another team (different sport) in that team's city. Some rules I set for myself were Team must be in either the MLB, NBA, NFL, MLS, or CFL. The jersey must be in the style of the NHL team's jersey. The other team's colours will be the ones on the jersey. The fonts should be either the official team's font or a close matching font. Teams: Anaheim Ducks (Angels) Arizona Coyotes (Cardinals) Boston Bruins (Celtics) Buffalo Sabres (Bills) Calgary Flames (Stampeders) Carolina Hurricanes (Charlotte Hornets) Chicago Blackhawks (Cubs) Colorado Avalanche (Nuggets) Columbus Blue Jackets (Crew) Dallas Stars (Cowboys) Detroit Red Wings (Tigers) Edmonton Oilers (Eskimos) Florida Panthers (Heat) Los Angeles Kings (Dodgers) Minnesota Wild (Twins) Montreal Canadiens (Expos) Nashville Predators (Titans) New Jersey Devils (Jets) New York Islanders (Nets) New York Rangers (Knicks) Ottawa Senators (Redblacks) Philadelphia Flyers (Eagles) Pittsburgh Penguins (Pirates) San Jose Sharks (49ers) St Louis Blues (Cardinals) Tampa Bay Lightning (Buccaneers) Toronto Maple Leafs Vancouver Canucks Vegas Golden Knights Washington Capitals Winnipeg Jets without further adieu, here's the first mashup, the Anaheim Angels in the style of the Anaheim Ducks. (Yes, I am aware they aren't the Anaheim Angels, but heck with that) C&C is appreciated! I am also considering doing throwback jerseys for each mashup, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the idea.
  3. Major League Soccer would currently like to expand its league by giving the city of Detroit, Michigan their first professional soccer team. Fans of the semi-pro Detroit City FC hate that idea, while former Express co-owner and soccer mogul Roger Faulkner clearly thinks it's a no-brainer to invest in a Detroit-based pro team. So here's the logo set of the brand-new (and of course fictional) Detroit Motor SC. Colors are navy blue and orange (plus the new color chrome), inherited from the former NASL Detroit Express (1978-81). A large vintage car emblem in the center in front of a wheel, including chrome rim spokes, are forming this primary mark. The alternate mark is thematically based on those vintage car emblems and signs of the 1930's, 40's and 50's. Thanks for watching!
  4. I've been lurking here for a while, and I finally decided to post something of my own. I'm only just starting out, so c&c is greatly appreciated. I will try to get through every team in the MLS, home and away, but I might go back and add some third jerseys if it goes well. Teams: Atlanta United FC - Updated Chicago Fire Columbus Crew SC D.C. United - Updated Montreal Impact New England Revolution New York City FC New York Red Bulls Orlando City SC Philadelphia Union Toronto FC Colorado Rapids FC Dallas Houston Dynamo LA Galaxy - Updated Minnesota United FC Portland Timbers Real Salt Lake San Jose Earthquakes Seattle Sounders FC Sporting Kansas City Vancouver Whitecaps FC - Updated
  5. Here's a logo, some kits, and some mockups I put together for a potential MLS expansion team in St. Louis. After looking around a bit, the expansion might not be realistic, but I can dream, right? Anyways, here's what I made. *Arena mockups not mine *Arena mockups not mine *Arena mockups not mine And that's it! Keep in mind I didn't make any of the arena mockups, but the rest of the work is all mine. Rip it apart.
  6. My goal (pun) was to simplify the current Major League Soccer's LA Galaxy primary logo a little more. So the word "GALAXY" has been replaced by, well, a galaxy! The 3-color quasar remains for reason of recognition value. Gone is the stereotype soccer shield which, I think, makes a nice change. 7. Team No. 1 -- Atlanta Silverbacks Founded: 1994 Current league: NPSL (amateur) Location: Doraville, Georgia Stadium: Silverbacks Park (5,000) Kit sponsor: Taco Mac (popular wings and beer) Twitter: @ATLSilverbacks
  8. I recently got a burst of inspiration when watching some soccer, to redesign the uniforms in the MLS. My main goal is to give each team a unique identity that could stand the test of time, as the MLS progresses into a bright future. Seeing as one day Nike may become interested in becoming the league's uniform provider, I used a Nike template modified for my use on paint.net. I plan on releasing a primary and clash kit for each team. Without further ado, the first team, Atlanta United. On the primary kit there is not a huge change, other than becoming predominately black, and adjusting to the Nike template. The Unite and Conquer slogan is featured on the back neck. I made Black is an emphasis for Atlanta United, due to an abundance of red in the MLS. That became a motivator for the clash kit. I envisioned this kit as almost an homage to the predominately black Falcons identity of the 90's and 2000's. Black and white has not been used by an MLS team in recent years and a new team like Atlanta could be just the team to do it. I will move on alphabetically with the next team being the Chicago Fire. Feedback and critique is appreciated.
  9. I created this mockup for David Beckham's proposed MLS team in Miami. A common trend that seems to be happening in the MLS right now is modeling a kit after the city's flag. I did this with the third kit pattering it after Miami's city flag. Please leave suggestions if I need to change anything. Thanks.
  10. Ever since Sporting KC came into MLS, they've had easily the best uniforms in the league. They had clean home and away looks that incorporated elements of their crest, and alternates that were always on point with the Sporting Argyle. Ever since they introduced the icy white alternate uniform, easily one of the best in MLS history, the league started cutting back on alternate kits. This year, the league did away with them completely. In general, I think Adidas has been a little too stripped back with uniforms, especially KC's. Sure they look sharp, but every team can gear up in pinstripes. With this concept, I wanted to get KC back to its roots with something that draws from the team's unique identity. I wanted to draw from the crest, and also figure out some way to incorporate the argyle. Here is what I came up with. For the primary, I went with the classic powder blue and navy look. The jersey features a navy striping design on half of the kit, similar to what Dortmund did a few years ago. The striping mimics the striping pattern on the club crest. The rest of the uniform is pretty orthodox, with the only other detail being the powder and dark powder striping on the socks. For the secondary, I was thinking of doing a navy uniform, but elected to bring back the all-black look instead. For the kit I decided to use a midnight blue and silver for the trim. For the jersey, I decided to bring my take to the Argyle motif, with a sublimated midnight blue argyle pattern across the chest. The same midnight blue appears on the bottom of the shorts as trim. The same sock pattern is on the alternate kit, instead in charcoal and black. Let me know what you think of the concept! All C&C is much appreciated.
  11. Here is a game-day article graphic I did for the people at WakingTheRed.com, an SB Nation blog covering Toronto FC.

  14. Hey everyone, I've been following the forum for a long time, and finally I decided to present you my own kit concepts. I will be designing a home and an away kit for existing and future MLS teams. I won't be following a certain order, but I will be sure that all kits are done. I might also include third kits for some teams. I hope you guys will like the concepts I will be posting So, without further ado, here are the kits for Chicago Fire: On the home kit, I was inspired by the home kit worn between 2000 and 2002. I know it looks like the current one, but I think that the navy stripe on the bottom completes the look. The cuffs and the socks were also designed to be consistent with the stripes on the middle. I wanted to integrate Chicago's flag into the away kit, so I was inspired by the away kit Uruguay wore in this year's Copa America. But, then I realized that if a player tucked in his shirt, the flag wouldn't be seen completely. So, I decided to do what Everton did with their home kit last season, and made the top portion of the shorts white and raised the flag a little bit to ensure that all players on the pitch have the same look.
  15. Today as an April Fools joke, the group behind a prospective MLS team in San Diego unveiled that they'd be calling their team San Diego Footy McFooty Face due to it finishing first in their online poll. Obviously this was a joke but nonetheless, here is the logo they presented. Seeing as how this was clearly a tongue-in-cheek attempt at coming up with a logo for the San Diego Footy McFooty Face, I thought I'd at least put some effort into making a better one that doesn't look like a bunch of clip art cobbled together. So, after just an hour, this is what I came up instead. Thoughts? I won't say it's a great logo by any means but I feel it's at least a significant improvement on the original.
  16. It's my first soccer concept, so it may be a little rough or bad looking, but here is what I'd do with the Colorado Rapids. Thanks for everything!
  17. Here is a complete kit set redesign I've been thinking about for a long time now. I like to call this series "Sea 2 Sky" as in the second revision of the "Sea to Sky" kits the Whitecaps released in 2016, all while completely trashing the 2017 kit. Plan was to use existing brand elements (the pattern, gradient) and create a realistic new version of each kit. Quite happy with the outcome, but would love feedback. Vancouver Whitecaps LAFC LA Galaxy
  18. I've been working on a project for a little while now and I figured I'd post it. Every club will get a city pride kit. I'll start off with the defending champs, the Portland Timbers. The kit reflects the "Keep Portland Weird" slogan
  19. Try my crack at this one more time with the idea that there is a stronger chance MLS is coming to SD after chargers bolted! No pun intended. Old Thread
  20. Love making soccer badges so I figured I would take a few stabs at MLS logos. Montreal's logo is one I have messed with before, but I did not take my last design into consideration with this one. I kept the basic elements, like the 4 stars, fleur, and traditional stripes. My goal was to give them a clean look. Let me know what you think. Also, what American Soccer logos do you think could be improved, I would love some ideas. Thanks!
  21. Created a soccer concept for San Diego MLS bid, San Diego Football Club. Shout out to @Xamboni for helping with some of the mockup renderings and @raysox for his jersey template. Please let me know what you guys think. Im more than happy to tweak/fix anything as I know it's not perfect. Thanks in advance. Also once I finalize logo/jersey etc I will look to create a media guide.
  22. Hi everyone -- had a good time making my 2017 MLS series, so now I'm going to start a similar series for 2018! Once again I'm using the SS Kits template from the Football Manager community, just this time I'm swapping homes/aways from my 2017 series, of course. Also, just to keep things fresh, I'm going to go in reverse order from the last series and work my way backwards through each conference alphabetically. Also will do full sets for LAFC and Miami when I get to those, though I suppose I'll have to design my own Miami badge, eek! EAST: Atlanta United / Chicago Fire / Columbus Crew / DC United / Miami / Montreal Impact / New England Revolution / New York City FC / New York Red Bulls / Orlando City / Philadelphia Union / Toronto FC WEST: Colorado Rapids / FC Dallas / Houston Dynamo / LA Galaxy / Los Angeles FC / Minnesota United / Portland Timbers / Real Salt Lake / San Jose Earthquakes / Seattle Sounders / Sporting Kansas City / Vancouver Whitecaps
  23. Any feedback is welcomed!
  24. Went for something similar to what Dryworld did with QPR. I've always felt that this is the look the Caps should have rocked since day one.
  25. Hi all! It has been many, many minutes since I was working on design regularly. Trying to change that now with another run through my own versions of 2017 Major League Soccer kits. They might look a little weird since my usual template (the SS Kits template for Football Manager) doesn't come with shorts and socks, so I had to frankenstein a couple templates together. But hopefully you'll at least get the idea. I intend to run through each conference alphabetically, only doing one kit per team based on what they're actually due for in 2017. At the end I'll do the full sets for the two expansion teams. Also I've read conflicting things whether all next year's kits are going to go back to shoulder stripes or not, so I'm just gonna put the stripes wherever I feel like on that particular kit. So here goes. EAST: Atlanta United / Chicago Fire / Columbus Crew / DC United / Montreal Impact / New England Revolution / New York City FC / New York Red Bulls / Orlando City / Philadelphia Union / Toronto FC WEST: Colorado Rapids / FC Dallas / Houston Dynamo / LA Galaxy / Minnesota United / Portland Timbers / Real Salt Lake / San Jose Earthquakes / Seattle Sounders / Sporting Kansas City / Vancouver Whitecaps --------------------------------------------------------- First up is Chicago Fire, which is actually a hard way to start as I think their current away set is perfect and exactly what they should wear. I tried to stick with the Chicago flag theme, based on the colors and the stars in the lower right of the shirt, but change up the design some.
