  1. It's probably about time to start this, so I'll open it up with this pic I was shown today. That Nike logo is MASSIVE. There's a possibility that this is a prototype uni, but either way, the Nike logos will be on the tops and shorts next season (along with ads on the opposite side of the top for some teams). Not a great start for Nike here. Hopefully the rebrands they plan on spear-heading will make up for some of the other issues. Can't wait to see it all unfold!

This is my first project of this sorts as I've only had PS for about 6 months. however, I've also been into the logos, designs, etc of basketball teams, so i decided to create redesign the entire NBA. This series will include some teams getting full updates, some getting minor tweaks, and some getting an entirely new identities. There will also be a few expansion teams. C&C IS definitely appreciated as this is my first project and i would like to know what i can work on! On to the first Concept. DETROIT PISTONS I wanted to keep this clean and sharp, but still give them something to make them unique. the two tone was in part inspired by the raptors early 2000's purple/black jerseys (Not the recent USA olympic jerseys, although i now realize there are several similarities.) i was never a big fan of their most recent word mark, as its too bubbly, so i went in the direction of a sharper font. ATLANTA HAWKS I haven't particularly liked any hawks jerseys since the classic Dominique era jerseys, so i considering using those to influence my new ones. however, i felt the hawks needed something more refreshing, so i went away with the red and yellow (volt?) in favor of the older blue and green jerseys. And finally my first expansion team BALTIMORE ROYALTY A perhaps underused color scheme in my eyes. We'll start off with the logo. (Don't worry this is the only jersey in the series that features a gradient jersey, but i felt the green/light green could work on these while still looking simple and clean) thank you for viewing.   3. So I haven't posted on here in a while but got bored and decided to play around with some NBA concepts. Have 15 done so far so I'm going to progressively post those while working to finish off the league. No real structure here, some home uniforms, some away, even some alternates, just whatever I think looks good. As always C&C are welcomed greatly, please let me know what you think! First up, one of my simpler designs with the 76ers! Tried to go for a very classic looking jersey, while emphasizing the great red white and blue color scheme present. Next up is the Warriors. Didn't change too much of the jersey base, just adding smaller improvements that I thought looked sharp. Also scrapped the pants and went with a more "warrior" looking design. And to round out my first set, is the Nets! Once again going for a very classic look on the jersey, with a very simple design on the pants.
  4. I recently got a burst of inspiration when watching some soccer, to redesign the uniforms in the MLS. My main goal is to give each team a unique identity that could stand the test of time, as the MLS progresses into a bright future. Seeing as one day Nike may become interested in becoming the league's uniform provider, I used a Nike template modified for my use on paint.net. I plan on releasing a primary and clash kit for each team. Without further ado, the first team, Atlanta United. On the primary kit there is not a huge change, other than becoming predominately black, and adjusting to the Nike template. The Unite and Conquer slogan is featured on the back neck. I made Black is an emphasis for Atlanta United, due to an abundance of red in the MLS. That became a motivator for the clash kit. I envisioned this kit as almost an homage to the predominately black Falcons identity of the 90's and 2000's. Black and white has not been used by an MLS team in recent years and a new team like Atlanta could be just the team to do it. I will move on alphabetically with the next team being the Chicago Fire. Feedback and critique is appreciated.
  5. With the NBA switching to Nike upon the expiration of Adidas' contract with the League at the end of this season, this thread will be where I'll share all of my designs. Ideally I want to create home and away uniforms for all 30 teams, but that may be a bit ambitious so we'll see what happens. I'll start with one uniform for each of the 16 playoff teams and then hopefully progress from there. This will be an exercise focusing primarily on colors, fonts, and minimalist design elements to create a clean and unique look for each team that reinforces or in some cases redesigns their brand. As always, any and all comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated! Indiana Pacers Away Uniform This takes the clean aesthetic of their current look and recalls the more yellow-centric color balance of their uniforms from the early '90s, adding a sublimated checkerboard racing stripe pattern along the side panels. Chicago Bulls Away Uniform While black is typically used as an alternate uniform color for the Bulls, the Jordan-era pinstripes were too classic to pass up. This look doesn't reinvent those classic jerseys so much as it simply reapplies it to the updated Nike Aeroswift jersey template.
  6. Just wanted to put in my take for some NBA uniforms now that nike is taking over for the next 8 or so years. With the great templates we have now as well as not too many people putting out there work I decided to throw my hat in the ring. With these first two I tried to change up a bit the designs, but I also know that some teams have timeless identities so ill keep that in mind going forward. So with that, the first two: Credit goes to Max Sang on Behance for the inspiration on Portland's jersey And of course, C&C are especially welcome here! EDIT: Made a change to the Hornets font to the one they currently use.
  7. There are a couple of ncaa color rush concepts on the boards. I was going to do this a lot earlier, so don't think I'm trying to steal anyone's concepts. These will be hand drawn.   8. Hey y'all: Decided I'd take a shot at rebranding the New York Knicks, a team with a current brand identity plagued by horribleness and bad management. General Comments: Silver will be removed from the color scheme in its entirety, leaving a new vintage blue, a slightly darkened orange, and white as the three colors. LOGOS: Primary: This roundball concept is similar to that of the 70th anniversary logo the team used last season, featuring the new orange from that logo as well. The logo features the Knicks' current ball alternate logo center stage, with New York Knicks Basketball branding and the teams establishment date, 1946. Secondary: This works off of the Knicks' primary logo history, specifically in the past 25 years. However, it incorporates the ball from the older logos while donning an updated "Knicks" text above the ball where all of the letters are the same size in proportion. It holds far more true to the logo of the championship era than the current one, which still holds a bad taste of the Isiah Era. Partial: Simply enough, this is a reversed color version of the ball logo, used primarily on white. UNIFORMS: The new nike branding is added near the right shoulder and Chase will be on the left side as the jersey ad. The sleeves no longer are broken in the middle and are now connected. Both the home and road jerseys cut the silver from the sleeves/neck as well, leaving blue and orange on the home and white and orange on the road. Both uniforms also adopt the new shades of blue and orange, but the fonts remain in tact, although also with silver removed. The home jersey features the partial logo on the shorts, while the road features the secondary on the shorts; both replacing the old primary. While this uniform refresh is not drastic (due to the novelty of the existing uniforms), it makes some much needed changes and is similar to that of the Timberwolves uniform refresh in the late 00s. So I started to make an AeroSwift template when it was unveiled, and I didn't have enough resources to complete it at the time, so I moved on, worked on other things and now, in the the biggest basketball month of the year, I finally have a template. It will be an .ai file and I'm still debating on a release right away. But in the meantime, and to make sure that I worked out all the bugs, I decided to roll in a Sweet 16 concept thread with it. First things first, here's the template. And starting off the concepts is the Wisconsin/Florida matchup: Wisconsin's newish look doesn't change a whole lot with the move to the template. Biggest difference is the leg stripes wrap around the legs this time. So I do not like Florida's current uniforms, the panel design just isn't doing it for me, so I mixed the HyperElite Disruption uniforms with the sublimated gator pattern, and the stripe pattern from the 2013 uniforms and you get the above result. I know I'm a day late dollar short for the whole set of games, but I still plan on getting through them all to the finals. C&C welcome!!
  12. So guys, it's finally done. All the years I've been using this 'comic template' I've always got requests to give it out. I never did because lazy. Over the last few days I created the new Nike Aeroswift template with my template and decided that it would be the perfect instance to share it with you. Maybe one problem is that I just use Gimp and subsequent I can just share it in the xcf-format. So you can definitely open it with Gimp. If someone knows how I can save it in .psd or just convert it would be nice.   13. Last thanksgiving, I spent the wee hours of the morning coming up with a logo. The logo had been in my head for a few days, and it was a Virginia Tech logo of a turkey incorporating the shape of Virginia. Made it, got a couple of likes, and that was it. I saw it the other day and thought it was cool, so I tweeted it back out. It was really well received and a few people told me I need to make more. That's what I did! I made the California one a few weeks ago, and the Tennessee one today. They feel like Nike shirts to me, so I'm calling this the Nike State Mascot Series Feel free to suggest some if you have an idea!

  17. I love watching college football and I like to see how teams change their uniforms over the years. Most of those changes have been for the better but there's still some that changed for the worse or have just always been bad. In this thread I'm not going to do redesign every team's uniform. I'm only going to redesign FBS teams that I thought have bad uniforms or could use some slight changes (which is around 30 teams). I'll try to give some type of explanation for teams I didn't change at some point too. I'm not going to post these in a specific order. And just because I post only a home, away, and alternate uniform that doesn't meant helmet, jerseys, and pants can't be mixed around. Vince McMahon (founder of the XFL) announce he will start the league and finish what he started with the XFL. McMahon will serve as the commissioner of the league and will sell the each team to willing buyers. The league is set to support 24 teams. McMahon will name the locations of the teams but the owners will choose team names. The league will be played in the NFL offseason. The league's games are set to be played on Wednesdays and players and easily be called up to the NFL. The league is made to accompany 30 teams. I was experimenting with @McElroy19's Full-body Iceborn template and decided to do a concept for the czech republic.Their current jerseys aren't that great, without any arm or hem stripes, and even though I like flag jerseys, theirs wasn't executed all that great. So I wanted to make a concept that was like their flag jersey, but still had the design of a traditional jersey. The design features a timeless large hem stripe that, just like the flag, features a half-and-half design. I chose to make the home yoke white instead of blue to differentiate them from Russia a little bit. Tying it all together is a font that I feel works perfect with the jersey. C&C is appreciated!
  22. I have been a longtime lurker on these boards, and only recently been expressing my opinions on work here. I am far from the level that most of you guys are, but as a hobby I really enjoy the templates people share on here. I mainly do these for my fantasy league, and everyone is blown away by the branding I create, which is heavily inspired by all you! Anyhow, I finally made a somewhat successful attempt at creating my own template. I know it is very rough in some spots, which I plan to iron out before next season begins. I'd like to hear from you guys what you think of my first work. The main things that stick out for me once I started coloring it was the stripes on the shoulders are still there from the original photo, and the mesh at the bottom needs reworked.
  23. I created this template using the images of the new Washington Huskies uniforms. You can change the colors of the gloves and socks. The shoes just remain black.   24. Flash back to 2009. My late grandmother was in town, and we decided to take her to Tropicana Field to see a World Series rematch between the Rays and the Phillies. Two things I remember about that day is that we got a baseball card made with her picture on it, and she could not for the life of her make out what teams were which sitting in left field because the grey is really really light. Baseball teams play 162+ games a year, they have throwback games, and some teams wear their colored alts more than their regular uniforms. So let's have a little fun, and go all the way. I started a group text chat with a couple young professional designers a few months ago, and over time we titled ourselves the Neat-O Gang. We always talk about doing a collaboration, but this is the real first one we do. You'll see my concepts, but you'll also see ones by my buddies. They'll link their twitters when they post their concepts. Pretend Nike signed a deal with the MLB for next year. Let's just say they're for weeknight games where the crowd might be smaller than normal. We're going to post some colorful alternate uniforms for all 30 teams, no matter the history. The colored uniforms can be worn as a road team against a white team, or as a home team forcing the other team to wear their Color Rush uniforms. So put on some sunglasses and sit back! Quick shout out to MJD7, I had this idea for a few months but they just completed their color rush concepts and I didn't want to steal their thunder.
