For quite some time now, I've had an idea for the NFL that I'm finally bringing to life in a series. I think I'm in the majority in saying that most of these NFL Color Rush uniforms are just hard on the eyes (putting it kindly). So instead of Thursday night games being Color Rush, let's have Throwback Thursday. The idea is to gain interest from all targets. It's a fairly new, trendy term that appeals to the young market, however it also reaches the older population in that teams can bring back some classic looks (i.e. Oilers, Orange Crush Broncos, etc). Not to mention it would just give the NFL more jerseys to put on the shelves. I think it could really be a hit. Parameters for this project are as follows. I'll be creating a dark set and a light set (home/away) for each team. Some teams may have just a plain retro look they've used in the past and some I will be putting a twist on. NFL one helmet rule is out the window (teams will be allowed to use a shell that is different from their primary). I'll most likely be going in alphabetical order unless someone has a suggestion they'd like me to bump up. Now, I haven't had much time as of late to creating concepts, so I can't promise I'll be pumping these out super fast. Anyway, as always, C&C is appreciated. Enjoy! Arizona Cardinals (1/32) First up, Arizona. For the most part the Cardinals have had a pretty plain past. I didn't want to go too hog wild on this one. Plain reds for the home and white for the away. Alternating pant colors with double striping. Helmets are white with the original logo and features the classic gray facemask. Also reverted back to more of the brick color red.
Tigers6884 posted a topic in Sports LogosHey guys! It's been awhile since I've started a topic, and as usual, we're looking back at time. With it being Throwback Thursday, and the fact that I'm wearing my logo-less Mighty Ducks jersey, I figured that we can look at the uniforms we grew up with and miss. So without further ado, here's my list: 1. The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim: Back in the day, their uniforms and color scheme seemed strange to many people, and the fact that they were based on a children's movie made them even that much more unique. I remember the Mighty Ducks being my go-to team when playing NHL 2005 on the original Xbox. The reason why I chose them most of the time was,of course, their sweet color scheme, logo, and jerseys. 2. FLORIDA Marlins: Another case of a perfect original set and color scheme dropped in favor of an awful one. I didn't really think about their identity as a classic until it was long gone like a home run. 3. Ottawa Senators: This is more of a logo missed by me rather than uniforms. I really liked the logo they used in the 1990s and early 2000s. 4. Purple and teal Arizona Diamondbacks: I don't really remember watching much baseball in my early childhood, so I missed really being able to appreciate these uniforms when they were in use. However, I do sort of remember admiring the pure amount of coolness that was the appearance of Randy Johnson. Anyways, I'm getting off topic. I believe that their current color scheme is a little too generic for my taste, and I think that they need to go back to something a little more daring and unique. Well, that's my list. How about you guys? What uniforms are you nostalgic for?
