    NBA Redesign Concepts (Celtics 4/27)

As a Jazz fan who's not a huge fan of the current design (minus the City Edition jersey), I figured I would try my hand at redesigning the team. Changing the colors to dark purple, teal, and copper, the team resurrects a snowflake logo. The Association uniform is off-white, the Icon uniform purple, the Statement uniform teal, and the new City Edition uniform a gradient going from pewter blue to dark blue. C&C welcome!
  2. Hello everyone its been quite a while since I've posted anything on here because of school and other things but as of recent I've had the itch to get back into taking the time to create these concepts. Now the real reason why I'm posting this is that I have some other concept ideas but I wanted to see how my Adidas template looks. Georgia Tech finally moves on from Russell and moves to Adidas (some people may say this a downgrade, but I personally like Adidas) and this is my rendition of what Georgia Tech should look like in my eyes. Home Away Alternate I'll be posting later on tonight my Washington/Adidas concept but in the meantime any thoughts on the concept? For some reason, my images don't look great and are not expandable so I posted links to get a better image. And before anyone asks I will possibly make this template available to download but not as of right now

    2018 MLB ASG Cap Concept

I absolutely loved what New Era started in Minnesota at the 2014 MLB All Star Game by designing special All Star caps that honored the host team. The potential was set up for new caps every year on All Star night to tell a different story about a host team's uniform history or local culture, while also allowing the game a rare chance to have some fun and get creative with their usually sacrosanct brands -- not to mention increasing merchandise sales in the process. Unfortunately, that was a trend that only lasted two seasons. So in an effort to show what could have been, each season I take it upon myself to continue what New Era once started and design my own city-centric concept caps for the MLB All Star Game. For the 2018 ASG in Washington D.C., I dipped into the city's baseball past to help inspire the cap design, while also taking cues from that time period and D.C.'s world-famous cherry blossoms to create a campaign that celebrates the nation's capital as well as the national pastime. To view the entire cap collection along with additional merchandise, plus a look inside the design process and inspiration, visit my website.

    Washington Bullets update concept

I thought the Bullets old jerseys were a bit too messy. and that their 90's jerseys were too red and unpleasant for the eyes. so I tried to do something in between. Their court I thought had far too much empty space and too small logos. so I pulled them up a bit. and I fixed some angels on the primary logo.
  5. I've taken another long break from concepts, so consider this my return. I've decided on a redesign of the Pac-12. I've completed all 12 teams before I started this thread, and I will release one every four days. I am going in a completely random order. Here are the release dates: 9/29 (Today): Oregon 10/3: Arizona 10/7: Stanford 10/11: Cal 10/15: Arizona State 10/19: Washington State 10/23: UCLA 10/27: Washington 10/31: USC 11/4: Oregon State 11/8: Utah 11/12: Colorado Starting with Oregon. Oregon gets some consistency in this set I love the "O" on the helmet, so that returns full time. Only (only?) six helmets, six jerseys, and six pants. The Duck is on the sleeves, and the shoulders have a modified wing pattern. The shoulder wings are supposed to be reflective, like this Hit me up with C&C!
  6. As I'm sure most of you know, the Washington Redskins wore 1960s-style fauxback uniforms in 2002 for all of their home games except for Dallas (forcing them to wear blue). Does anyone know why/how the NFL allowed the team to have a full-time alternate for one year? Does that even fit within the NFL's parameters for this sort of thing? A couple other notes: -The below photo shows the team wearing their normal white-topped striped socks rather than what they ended up using. -Snyder's claim they might go back to wearing them full time is fascinating and something I never knew was considered. Here's part of a story from Scout.com about the changes: The Redskins will wear their new uniforms for this season only, though owner Daniel Snyder did not rule out making a permanent change after this year. Washington Redskins' Rod Gardner (87) and Fred Smoot (21) wear the new home-field uniform for the 2002 season during a news conference in Ashburn, Va., Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002. The Redskins have adopted a new uniform for their 70th anniversary season, shedding the image of a stern Indian face from the side of their helmets. The revamped uniforms, which will only be worn at home games, include burgundy helmets that feature a logo with a spear and feathers, according to the team. (AP Photo/Stephen J. Boitano) Washington will wear gold pants with burgundy and white stripes and a dark burgundy top. The Redskins' helmets will be dark burgundy with a spear and feather dangling off it. But they'll only wear the uniforms for home games--it's back to the more recent jerseys on the road. However, Spurrier said the Redskins would wear white tops at home against Dallas, forcing the Cowboys to wear their less-favored dark uniforms. And Snyder was adamant that this move had nothing to do with any pressure by local civic groups to change the name. ''None whatsoever,'' Snyder said. ''We won't be changing the name for 100-years plus.'' The change is designed to commemorate the franchise's 70th anniversary. It also will boost sales of jerseys--the Redskins lag in the middle of the NFL sales for such items.

    Washington NFL Team Uniforms

After seeing a fruitful discussion about a Washington Redskins throwback uniform from 2002-2003, I decided to make my first uniform concept since 2013. These aren't anything groundbreaking, but they represent the latest of what I would want to see my NFL team do with their uniforms. C&C appreciated.

    Washington Capitals Concept

This was just a random Caps concept I made out of boredom, with 4 variations. I can't decide on a favorite, so I figured I'd put 'em all on the boards. Here they are! Copper and no Stars Copper and Stars No Copper, no Stars No Copper, with Stars There they are! Sorry if they're not the best quality, I rushed them a little bit. I'll touch it up once I can pick a favorite.
  9. With the College Football Playoff coming up soon, I decide to take the current top 4 teams and design playoff uniforms for them.

    Rebranding the Washington Capitals

Hey folks! In this thread, I wanted to bring back one of the Capital's unused logos with a modern twist. The logo wasn't horrible, but I knew it could be better. I decided to change a lot of things... Secondary/alternate logos, jerseys, and much more coming soon. However, I'd like to hear an opinion from you guys about this logo before I do that, so C&C is much appreciated.

    Player Jersey Swaps

This is my first jersey swap and I think it came out well. I figured I'd share it with you all and hopefully receive feedback and areas of focus to make the necessary improvements in future Jersey swaps and photo edits. I will also take a few request so that I can continue to gain experience. Logo credit: Conrad.
  12. Recently it was announced that the Arena Football League will be expanding to Washington DC for the 2017 season and I thought it could be fun to get some ideas flowing on what this team could eventually be called and what potential logos could look like. The team owners are the same group that own the Wizards, Mystics, and Capitals so that might be something to keep in mind about them. The two names I've heard/thought of that I like the best for the team are the Washington Maul, which I read in a Washington newspaper article online, and one I thought of that seems perfect for Arena Football; the Washington Insiders. While I really like both names I had some issues thinking of good logos, but I thought I'd share what I thought of and see if anyone has any ideas for improvements. Feel free to share your ideas on these or post your own names/logos! This was my first thought for the Washington Maul; it's based off a commemorative Centennial Ax that was made in honor of George Washington's election as President (he's known chopping down a cherry tree as a kid). The axe-head shape is based off a pentagon, and the obelisk in the oval is in honor of the Washington Monument in the National Mall at Washington. Here's my first thought for the Insiders. I've found that many 'insider' logos usually have 'In' inside of some sort of box or thought cloud or something so I decided to go along those same lines for this. I chose a pentagon as the outer shape in reference to Washington's Pentagon. It creates a cleaner, more simplistic logo that I think would actually stand out pretty well among other AFL logos.
  13. *Update added 3/16, still in progress* I don't think the Skins will go in this direction (nor should they necessarily), but I wanted to try something different from most Washington rebrand concepts. I wanted to create something military-themed with a few nods to the franchise lineage. I like the name "DC Soldiers," but "Washington Warriors" would probably work, too... this is a first draft & I do want to make this logo a bit less Archer-ish (especially the eyes), so any feedback would be great!
  14. Hey guys..... I'm new to making concepts. I've been trying out a few different templates to get a good feel of what works and what doesn't, and these are a few jerseys I've done so far for the NHL. 1st up is a version of a Capitals jersey talked about in the NHL 2015 Page. This jerseys uses the prototype jersey Weagle (Made by Mr.Nascar13) and a blue, copper and red colour pattern. The striping is based off the Pre-Edge black alternate. 2nd here is a common one for the Senators. However, I've tweaked the Peace Tower shoulder patch slightly, hoping the addition of green to the logo is enough to make it stand out. C & C is welcome.... and depending on everything, I may make this a NHL series. Up next should be Tampa Bay.
  15. There has been a lot of talk about the Capitals recently, especially involving the Weagle logo and promoting it. It seems so natural to put the stars above the logo, it kinda balances out the logo, and I decided to take the extra step and integrate the DC flag (at least on the white, it's the reverse on the red, which is also used in certain logos in downtown Washington). The shoulders are a hallmark of the original sweaters, and the rest is meant to be a mix of modern and traditional. C&C? DC flag: Reverse:

    Washington Capitals Jersey

I was inspired to try and create a new logo for the Capitals when the Wizards announced they were switching to the roundel logo for the playoffs and future seasons. Seeing that the Nationals also follow this theme for their logo, I wanted to see how the Caps would looks with new logos. Notes: - The stars on the arm are three in a row - The collar has "Rock The Red" on the inside Let me know what you think!
  17. HJC is holding a Stadium Series themed competition right now where entrants are to design uniforms for a hypothetical Stadium Series game. I chose Washington and Tampa Bay as it would be an interesting game. Star power between Ovechkin and Stamkos, and the two teams don't always get along. They've had some heated playoff series in the past so I believe both fanbases could get behind this. Plus it introduces a new team to the outdoor scene. All we have to create uniforms so all I'll be doing is adding the pants, helmets, etc. I won't be getting as in depth as some will. (Stadiums, Patches, Bleh, etc.) I may just use this years SS patch without a number as a placeholder. However, I imagine that the game would take place in DC, probably FedEx Field where the Redskins play as I'm not sure Florida can get or consistently stay cold enough to host an outdoor game. Raysox tells me it had been in the 40's that past week or so in Florida, but I feel like that was a fluke and he's a liar. The set on the left, the way I see it, is a combo between 1) Arm length yoke with enlarged arm striping and 2) Vertical hem striping playing off of the yoke. The set on the right features a large vertical stripe going down the torso. I also created a new collar for these jerseys. It's basically an Edmonton style collar but more square

    Washington Wolves (Redskins Rebrand)

Hello, I am a student at Colorado State University. This is my first time posting a project to receive critique. This is a rebrand for the Washington Redskins. The reason I chose Wolves is because Maryland Native Americans worshipped them and believed they were very spiritual animals. As of now I only have the logo, secondary logo, and type done. Uniforms will be next. I'd appreciate any ideas/comments.

    NHL Super League

I've had this idea and these concepts sitting around for months (years, in some cases). There was a time when I was working on this project furiously, but I've been far too short on time recently to give it the attention it needed. But since so much of it has been completed for so long, I decided just to throw it out there, in large chunks. So here's the basic idea: A Super NHL, with 40 teams divided into two conferences of four divisions with five teams each. The divisions would be geographic in nature, with teams playing a "weighted" schedule: i.e. 6 games versus division opponents; 4 games versus the "paired" division opponents (Northeast and St. Lawrence, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, et c.); two games versus the "unpaired" division opponents in the same conference (St. Lawrence and Southeast, et c.); and one game versus opponents from two different non-conference divisions--at home versus one division and on the road versus the other--with the non-conference divisional matchups rotating each year. By my count, that makes for a 74-game regular season that emphasizes regionality and cuts down on travel costs. Obviously, there will be a few expansion teams. Two teams from each division would make the playoffs, with each round being a best-of-seven series. The first two rounds would keep the "paired" divisions together, seeding the four teams independently of division and allowing them to play out. The advancing two teams (i.e. the Northeast/St. Lawrence winner and the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast winner) would play for the Conference Championship, and the two conference champs would meet for the Stanley Cup. All right. So I'm just going to post these in alphabetical order, and I'll include a league map that I'll continually update. Almost all of the work is completed and has been for quite a while, but there are a few stragglers that I'll try my best to get finished in a timely matter. Basically, each team has had something altered in some way, no matter how small. Everyone gets a "third" jersey, but the Original Six teams get "heritage" jerseys to be worn only against other Original Six teams. Some of this work has been posted by me before, some has since been sold to other parties, and some of it is likely to be adapted from other peoples' work. In each case, I'll do my best to make appropriate citations for each, but since it's been so long, I may miss something. Please feel free to point out any misses on my part. Also, some of the players' names and numbers used have probably changed by now. Forgive me for not going back and updating everything! So here we go. The uniform template is based on the current (and fantastic) style at NHLuniforms.com, and I wouldn't have been able to create this series without the amazing resources there. I've done my best to create custom logos and type for each team, and I'll try to keep descriptions clear and (most importantly) brief. Here's the first map update, with the first five teams:
  20. I had an idea for a concept logo for a Washington team (the Capitals makes the most sense but nothing truly says that it couldn't be the Nationals, or a new team, maybe a minor league affiliate), but it seems like such a simple idea that I find it hard to believe it hasn't been done before. I've looked at enough logo concepts on here and elsewhere that I wouldn't be at all surprised if I was, without knowing it, ripping off someone else's work. So I am asking you all, does this look like a logo similar to anything you've seen? or is this something new? If it's something new, is it any good? Any C&C? Major apologies if it's close to something that already exists.
  21. Both ESPN and this site use this logo as the primary Washington Wizards logo: I went to a game at Verizon Center this year and didn't see it in any signage at all. It's also not currently used on the web site. They prefer either the hand: Or the monument: Does anyone definitively know the current practice? I don't follow the Wizards that closely, but it's kind of jarring when I see the red, white and blue wizard on ESPN highlights.

    Capitals Concept (update 11/7)

I once had a Capitals fan explain to me that their current look is a football thing. It's meant to look sleek and football-like so fans can relate. Well, now that the Caps have done a lot better at gathering a fan base, I think it's time to transition to something a little more hockey-like, and take advantage of their awesome secondary logo, while not completely forgetting their roots. The look is meant to evoke the 90s teams, the most hockey-like they've looked, while still Rocking the Red, and I wanted to include the stars somewhere, and I think the shoulder effect would be unique in the league, as well as reminiscent of their original star-spangled sweaters. So, without further ado, my version of the Caps: I debated off-color shoulders, thought it might be too busy. Thought about the wordmark on the shoulders, and it doesn't shrink as well as I'd like. Thought about putting stars directly above the Weagle, but why detract from that great logo? Was I wrong in any of my debates or would you like to see some tweaks? Thoughts? C&C? I'm all ears.

    Washington Redskins Rebrand

I think, at this point, the end of the professional football team in Washington D.C. being officially known as the Redskins is inevitable, so I decided to come up with a concept of what I would like to see when the time comes for a name change. I know Warriors has been a popular option so I took that and ran with it. I know the Redskins have very strong visual identity, so I wanted to keep the burgundy and gold, but went with the shades from the spear helmet throwbacks. So here they are: The Washington Warriors I wanted to keep the basic elements of the helmet and logo the same, so as you can see, the Native American has been replaced with another type of warrior, an American soldier. Alternate Logo This shield is based on the shoulder patch used by the 2nd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, which is known as Indianhead and as the Warrior Division. The 2nd has fought in major battles of every major American conflict since WWI,and I thought the use of the shield would be a nice aknowlegement of the team's past, as well as a nod to the U.S. Army in America's capital. Lastly, the uniforms and wordmark So what does everybody think? Any c&c or other comments are always appreciated, thanks.
  24. Hello Sports Logos World!! I've been surfing this site for years, and I've always had some pretty great ideas for concepts/rebranding/colors/alignment(etc.). I'm an amateur at photoshop, and use the most basic sites for design, and my designs are usually recoloring, and reconfiguring already existing brand fonts/unis/logos(etc.). But I've always enjoyed it, and now want to share my ideas with you good people. I've always hated the 'Wizards' brand, and wish they reverted back to the 'Bullets'. BUT, I understand the type of b.s. that would come of that, especially in the capital... So, why don't we make some concessions and meet in the middle to create a brand identity that relates to the United States Capital, and not with Hogwarts. Actually, this name I came up with has been used before in the ABA, in Brooklyn, NY, from 1941-42. Introducing, the Washington Americans! http://grab.by/pqXS (I hope this link works) Below is the Primary Wordmark (again, just a reconfigured image from the secondary Wizards logo) http://grab.by/pr0a Please let me know what you think, and maybe some other ideas for a Washington rebrand that doesn't include "Sea Dogs".
