  1. NHL 2017-18

I thought it would be wise to create a separate thread for next season. What we know: -Adidas is taking over the production of the on-ice jerseys. Fanatics will produce the retail jerseys. -Alternate jerseys will not be worn during the 2017/18 season. -Edmonton Oilers will promote their orange 3rd jersey to full-time home status. Rumors: -New Jersey Devils are reported to have a redesign in store. -Washington Capitals are rumored to be returning to the retro jerseys full time. *edit- also if a mod could move the posts from the 2016/17 thread to this one, that would be cool.
  2. So this is one of a couple concept ideas I've had in my head. We're always talking about Original 6 Dress up and that got reignited when Florida redid their uniforms which bear a resemblance to Montreal's so it made me wonder, what would the league look like if every team had a chest stripe like the Habs. It's a fairly simple idea, and each team will have something unique about them. It won't be just a Montreal jersey template in Vegas colors. For the moment I have no plans on doing alternates for the teams, but I plan on doing the special event games and the all star tournament, but we'll see how this goes and I might throw in alternates. I also wanted to do these on an Adidas template, but I didn't have it ready in time, so I used the closest Reebok collar I had to the Adidas ones and rolled from there. I'm going from bottom to top based on final regular season standings, so if you want to see how this will go, go here (https://www.nhl.com/standings) and you can follow along. With that being said, I have the first two teams ready, Colorado and Vancouver. For the Avalanche, I tried to make a mountain-style chest stripe but it didn't work out how I wanted it to so I used the old alternates as inspiration for a stripe and then added the mountain pattern on the bottom hem I ditched the Orca for the Canucks, using the stick in the rink, and the Johnny + V logo. Used the stripes from the alternate, which is consistent throughout to the pants and the socks. Kept the one color numbers. C&C welcome on these two
  3. NHL Team 32?

Decided to give Houston the 32nd team out of the fact they would be in the Central Division, also thought it would be fun. The team would be called the Aeros and the logo i made off of an Air Force badge (lots of connections lately in the NHL and military). But with that being said I ended up with this and I would imagine I will do different versions. Might attempt other expansion options aswell, such as Seattle, KC, and a personal favorite Milwaukee. This is also my first logo I've made.
  4. The recent Adidas reveal inspired me to start up a new series. Its been some time since I last did a concept. So, knocking off some ring rust in the first few. Edmonton Oilers Promoted the previous third while making some minor changes. Kept the current colors. Added third that is something I can see the team bringing in the near future.
  5. Buffalo Sabres Winter Classic Concept

Here's a quick concept I put together for the Sabres. Based off of the Buffalo Bisons of the IHL (circa 1932). C&C appreciated!
  6. EnSleeving the NBA

You guys are gonna hate me for this. So around the same time I had the idea for the Habs'ing the NHL thread, I had this idea: What if every NBA team had a home and away sleeved set of jerseys? Wouldn't want to see this play out in real life, but thanks to Nike taking over the NBA, we won't have to worry about it Anyways, just like in the NHL thread, not immediately planning on alternates, though my mood might change later on. Unlike the NHL thread, I'm just going in alphabetical order here, so kicking us off is Atlanta: So I'm still undecided if I like the whole Red, Volt, and Black scheme for ATL. But if I have to work with it, I guess I can. Biggest changes here is the pattern is limited to the sleeves, HAWKS is now on the home jersey and the shorts are symmetrical now. C&C welcome, Boston will be up next!
  7. Nashville Predators concept

Pretty simple, straight forward fix for the Predators. Their Adidas unis are a bit bland, and my goal here was to bring a little more life to them. C&C appreciated!
  8. Here's a quick concept for the Columbus Blue Jackets I have put together... The two primaries are a breath of fresh air, as they are based around the striping of the Ohio flag, pay homage to Ohio's first NHL team (Cleveland Barons) and incorporate other design elements the team has used to date such as: Current name/number font Cuff design with the stars at the wrist Simplified hemline and logo usage The home's hanger effect reads "March On", and the road has a new "Columbus Blue Jackets" word mark created by me in a previous project... The alternate is a classy change of pace from the two primaries, featuring an all-blue look with minimal red accents...
  9. NCAA Football Uniform Concepts

I love watching college football and I like to see how teams change their uniforms over the years. Most of those changes have been for the better but there's still some that changed for the worse or have just always been bad. In this thread I'm not going to do redesign every team's uniform. I'm only going to redesign FBS teams that I thought have bad uniforms or could use some slight changes (which is around 30 teams). I'll try to give some type of explanation for teams I didn't change at some point too. I'm not going to post these in a specific order. And just because I post only a home, away, and alternate uniform that doesn't meant helmet, jerseys, and pants can't be mixed around. Teams I have done: Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Nevada, Northern Illinois, Oregon State, TCU, Tulsa, Wisconsin, Western Michigan Teams I plan on doing: UCLA, Arkansas State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana-Lafayette, Bowling Green, Southern Miss, North Carolina State, East Carolina, Texas-San Antonio, Texas-El Paso, UAB, North Texas, Charlotte, Akron, Kent State On to the concepts... Central Michigan Chippewas (current uniform) Home Uniform: Away Uniform: Alternate Uniform: -Normal glossy helmets -Unique pattern on shoulders and pants. The pattern might be a little too much, but I'd rather see a team try something different than use a similar template than other Adidas schools. -Added "Chippewas"/"Central Michigan" to front of jersey Up Next: EMU
  10. I've prepared some NHL concepts where I try and refresh team branding and uniforms. I'm trying to make the rest of the league fall more in line with what I've come to expect from Adidas. All teams get *some* sort of change from their current (Reebok) uniforms, although a few don't see much change at all (ie. Flyers, Leafs). I will accept C&C but I don't plan on making revisions to the uniforms unless I really feel compelled. I will be adding "Marquee Matchups" where teams use special uniforms. This is where C&C would be most useful, in suggesting matchups, uniforms, revisions, etc. I will use this first post as a HUB for the concepts: Metropolitan Battle of New York (NYI v NYR) Keystone Classic (PHI @ PIT) Stevens' Cup (WAS + MIN @ NJD) Ohio Classic (PIT @ CBJ) Atlantic Tribute (NJD v PHI) All-American Clash (STL v NYR) Atlantic Battle of Ontario (TOR v OTT) Governor's Cup (FLA v TBL) All-American Clash (WAS v DET) International Classic (BOS @ MTL) Norris Cup (CHI v DET) Hartford Classic (CAR v BUF) Central All-American Clash (NSH v COL) International Classic (VAN @ CHI) All-American Clash (MIN v STL) Battle of Wisconsin (MIN v CHI) All-Canadian Clash (TOR v WPG) Star Series (MIN v DAL) Pacific California Series (ANA + SJS @ LAK) Battle of Alberta (CGY v EDM) Battle of the Desert (ARI v VGK) Marquee of '93 (FLA v ANA) All-American Clash (VGK v LAK) Pacific Territories (SJS v VAN)
  11. Overall, I'd say that the transition from Reebok to Adidas has been positive for most teams in the NHL. But some teams took a step backwards...so here is my attempt to fix their errs. First up: Nashville What they unveiled: Too minimized for my liking. Here's my take: C&C appreciated. I probably won't get to every single team in the league, most likely just a handful of them that actually need changes to perfect their current sets. Buffalo is next!
  12. Recently some of the details for Belgium and Adidas' World Cup 2018 kits were leaked. It was noted that 2018's kits would be more vintage and would draw from older retro kits. For Belgium's, it was leaked that the kit will draw on the famous 1984 Euro kits, which were most notable for the big argyle stripe on the front. Taking this knowledge, I mocked up what Belgium's kits could look like for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The primary kit, as usual, is a red shirt, but is paired with black shorts, hearkening back to the early days of the Belgian team. The most notable feature of the kit is the diamond pattern on the front, with a black and yellow diamond pattern across the chest. Above it are more dark red diamonds, in a gradient pattern. This pattern aims to draw from the retro design, but give it a modern twist. A black, gold and red trim is featured all over the kit, mimicking the Belgian national flag. For the secondary kit, I drew from the first ever Belgian national team kit, a white jersey with black, red, and yellow sleeve stripes and black shorts and socks. I made a fauxback of sorts, combining a few different eras and smaller details from across the team's history. For the jersey, I went with a cream color instead of a white, creating more of a vintage look. A dark cream horizontal pinstripe lies on the kit, fading as it descends. The crest is the original Belgian crest, which is found on both the shirt and shorts. The shorts and socks are the same as the primary kits'. Let me know what you think of the kits! Hope you enjoyed!
  13. Good evening CCSLC! Now, I do believe that this is attempt number three at redesigning the NHL. However, I am determined to actually finish this time. Unlike other failed attempts, wherein I would design one concept, post, wait for C&C and then move on, this time I've actually completed almost half of the NHL in preparation. I've been working on this project for the past month or so, I've really been having a lot of fun with it and I'm moving at a pretty steady pace so I feel as though I can actually make it through the league. What I really wish for this thread is a lot of active discussion, comments, and critique so that I may hone my skills at designing. I'd like to keep this organized, so I'll get started with some guidelines of what I'll be posting. Also, as a note: I haven't found an Adidas template compatible with the program I use (PAINT.net) so I chose to simply use the Reebok Edge template found in the Paint Users Paradise thread. I have, however, added an Adidas tag to the inside that I drew up. Outline All teams I complete will have some alteration to their logo and/or color scheme that I will point out with each concept. Note: These changes could be as small as a color adjustment to a complete logo overhaul. I will only be posting two uniforms per team: Home (color), Away (white) No team will use more than two logos. This is pretty standard in the NHL. However, we do see teams with all kinds of logos with their set. If I include a logo in the set, it will appear on the uniform. I see no need to include more since this is simply a logo/uniform project and not a complete identity project. NHL shield logos will be recolored in respective team colors. Teams will be posted in no real order, simply which concept I would like comments on at that time. Please, no comments just requesting the next team. Some critique on the concept would be appreciated. Okay, first up: ARIZONA COYOTES - 4.3.17 Logos: I really loved the Coyotes inaugural set. The kachina pattern was very unique to the team and even though it made it's debut in the 90s, it wasn't a concept that was overbearing or gaudy. However, and, as unpopular an opinion it may be, I really like Arizona's current logo and uniform set. I have made some changes to the logo, though. Replacing black is a darker brick red and I have turquoise to the color scheme, drawing inspiration from the art of the Pueblo which is wherein the initial kachina pattern derived. The alternate 'A' paw logo underwent no changes other than, of course, the color scheme. Uniforms: Again, the kachina pattern was my favorite part of the Coyotes inaugural set. The logo to me was fine, but I actually like the current better. I tried my hand at a custom kachina pattern that is only adorned on the hem as I thought that adding it the the sleeves as well made it a bit busy. If you look closely, you'll notice that within the pattern are crossed hockey sticks in the darker brick red color. The shoulders stripes are very loosely based on the current uniforms. Thanks for checking these out! C&C is greatly appreciated!
  14. Seattle NHL Brand Discussion

This isn't necessarily for next season, but here are renderings for a renovated Key Arena, one from each group vying to be the ones to make the changes. This would most likely give Seattle (according to their estimates) a team by 2020. .
  15. In this series I will be re-branding all 32 NFL Team's uniforms with either Nike (Mach Speed, Pro Combat, Vapor Untouchable), Adidas (Techfit 2016), or Under Armour (Diablo). Nike/Jordan Carolina Panthers New York Jets Adidas Tampa Bay Buccaneers Minnesota Vikings New Orleans Saints Under Armour Las Vegas Raiders Atlanta Falcons Leave comments and requests of what team with what brand/template you want.

  17. March Madness Concepts

Selection Sunday is a couple of weeks away and Nike and Adidas usually release new uniforms for a couple of teams. If your team is a lock for the Tourney, then expect a concept to be made for them. These are the teams that I'll be doing. Nike Gonzaga Arizona Villanova Duke Kentucky Florida North Carolina Oregon West Virginia Virginia Purdue Adidas Kansas UCLA Louisville Wisconsin Here are my Kansas Jayhawks
  18. 2017 NHL Adidas Uniform/Logo Changes

Since my last page was shut down by a moderator due to a lack of activity for some reason, I decided to post jersey concepts here that I had planned for the logo changes in my other forum. Note also there are no alternates for the first year: First... PACIFIC DIVISION Anaheim Ducks: Their current alternate is promoted to their Home jersey, while a similar reversed color away jersey is added to replace the old one. The "D" logo remains an alternate logo on the shoulders. LA Kings: Same jersey colors and striping, but the new logo I created in my other forum is added to the front of the home and road jerseys. Other than that, no changes. San Jose Sharks: New logo added onto the front of both the home and road jersey. The old logo on the shoulders are removed. The neck color on the home jersey is changed to white to contrast the blue jersey. Edmonton Oilers: Orange alternate jersey already announced as their new home jersey for 2017-18. No changes otherwise. Calgary Flames: There recent throwback jersey returns as their primary jersey to coordinate the new logo I proposed. An away jersey reverses the colors of the home jersey and uses the primary on the font without a black outline. Vegas Golden Knights: I expect a relatively bland uniform (considering the ownership), at least for the first few years. Black home with gray sleeves and gold stripe. The same goes for the road with an added black stripe separating the gold stripe from the white. The neck laces will be the team's red accent color. The primary logo will be on the front of the jersey. I chose a more classical font, they may choose a modern font, but I think that may look too similar to the old Ducks uniforms style wise. Vancouver Canucks: Same home and road uniforms but the new logo is added to the away, and an inverted version is added to the home jersey. The logo is removed from the shoulders on both uniforms. Arizona Coyotes: No changes at all. Uniforms were also updated last year, so change is unlikely if not impossible. What do you think? Coming next: Metropolitan Division!
  19. Like most, due to Adidas' ownership of Reebok, I do not believe many drastic logo changes will come to the NHL logo-wise. I believe most teams will see either recolors or promotion of alternates to primaries, with only one or two teams receiving full on new logos. However, here are my ideas/suggestions regarding logo changes for both the Pacific Division and the Metropolitan division. PACIFIC DIVISION: LA Kings: I see the Kings keeping their current color scheme but this is a mixed concept that I made. It involves a mix of their rarely seen stadium series logo and the old crown from the franchise's inception, rather than the dated and complex current crown. This could work as either an alternate or (preferably) a primary. San Jose Sharks: I see the shark's new alternate logo for 2016-17 ready to take over the current sharks logo. This and the Panthers logo were the only all-new non-anniversary logos introduced this year, so I see it promoted to the primary. It is an improvement over the previous logo. Anaheim Ducks: This is the logo change I and most really want to see: the duck mask must return. Strip it straight from the already used alternate and promote it to a primary and demote the "D" logo down to an alternate. Edmonton Oilers: This logo is either staying the same or, in my opinion, getting a minor recolor to give it more of the classic look. Vegas Golden Knights: This logo was unveiled earlier this year. I'm not much of a fan, but it is what it is. Calgary Flames: Black will be removed from the team's color scheme entirely, reverting its colors back to the much preferred older color scheme. Vancouver Canucks: I think either the orca logo stays or, preferably, the classic canucks hockey stick "C" makes its way as a primary. Arizona Coyotes: No changes. METROPOLITAN DIVISION: New Jersey Devils: Although a new logo is rumored for the Devils, I don't see their classic NJ icon leaving anytime soon. If anything, I see their colors being reverted back to red and green to differentiate itself from the many bland red and black teams out there. If they do choose to go with a redesign, I hope it at least keeps the spirit of this logo. New York Rangers: No changes. Possibly the return of lady liberty? New York Islanders: No changes. However, the life that this logo has left with the Islanders scheduled to be arena-less in 2019 may be short... Pittsburgh Penguins: No changes. This recolor was perfect for the franchise and nothing needs to be added. Carolina Hurricanes: No changes, unfortunately. While the logo is bleh right now, the team has been dead last in attendance and I see relocation in sight. The team will not waste resources on a new logo if the team has no time left in North Carolina. Philadelphia Flyers: No changes. Very solid and classic logo with no need for change. Columbus Blue Jackets: I see their much acclaimed alternate logo taking the place of their much derided primary. This is a fantastic logo that better represents a primary logo than their primary logo. Washington Capitals: I see their word mark logo falling into secondary territory, while their eagle logo gets a few minor tweaks to color and design and gets promoted to the primary. The logo is amazing and its wanted. Do you agree? Will add the Atlantic and Central Conference soon...
  20. Real Madrid vs Napoli Concept

So... Today's outcome had me pretty down, so I decided to take a swing at what I would've liked the match to look like.
  21. Colorado Avalanche Concepts

No but I would bet a lot of money that they will look exactly like this (not my concept BTW mods just a good prediction by Avi):
  22. UPDATE: Thanks for all the support, guys! This was a fun series to do. Get hyped. 31 teams, 4 all star teams, and 66 jerseys. NHL by Adidas. 23. The title of the thread says it all... I will be posting my predictions for what I think the NHL/Adidas will be unveiling for their league-wide overhaul next season, as well as changes I would make/what I want to see. We know a few details for what to expect - such as the Oilers wearing their orange alts full time, the Devils rebranding, etc - but according to @Chris Creamer, some teams won't have major changes. So first up... 1) Washington Capitals Prediction: rumor has it that the Caps are thinking about switching to their retro-throwbacks full time. Wish List: a combination of throwback and modernization 2) Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction: they switch to their current third jersey's template to stray away from the Maple Leafs/Red Wings comparison Wish List: bring back the unique Hawaiian blue and throw in some more black Florida and Columbus are next....C&C appreciated.
  24. I wasn't really with Canada's World Cup of Hockey uniforms they used this year. Canada has a really unique and storied hockey history, and the jersey didn't really respect that. It was a little too modern and stripped down for my tastes. I wanted to come up with something that respected the past and was modern and forward thinking at the same time. I figured that I have a hot hand with concepts right now, so I figured I'd take a shot at it. To do this, I took inspiration from two uniforms in particular. The first was the Winnipeg Falcons Team Canada throwbacks that they wore in 2004. I really like the center chest stripe, as well as the styling of the maple leaf. The second was the 2010 Olympic jerseys that Canada wore when they won the gold medal. I thought that the jersey was really really good, especially with the striping and First Nations design sublimated in the maple leaf. I first wanted to come up with some logos for the jersey and the rest of the uniform. I wanted to take the old styled maple leaf and combine it with the First Nations elements from the 2010 maple leaf. Here are the maple leaf logos that I came up with for the jersey. I took an irregular looking silver maple leaf and sublimated a Pacific Northwest First Nations design on top of it. I moved the arching "Canada" from the Falcons throwback down below the leaf, similar to the 2010 maple leaf logo. For the jerseys, I wanted the same mix of old school and new school. Here are the two jerseys: The home set is red with a white stripe in the middle of the jersey. The yoke is darker red, with the same dark red in the inside of the two white stripes. The away set is the reverse of the home, except for the red yoke. Both sets have black helmets and pants, as well as red socks. All C&C and feedback welcome and appreciated!
