  1. I have been watching this site and/or any number of others for some time, and I have come up with some proposed all-time teams and/or team names for various teams in various sports. In this thread, I will mainly start off with all-time teams, and describe the aforementioned sports universe here. Before I get started, however, I must also say that I may have seen certain names for possibly fictional teams all over the Internet that may have been made up by others, and if I happen to have borrowed some from any of you, I may have gathered them unconsciously, or forgotten where I got them from over the years. If I have done so unknowingly with any of your known team names, please keep that in mind. At least partly due to my Asperger's Syndrome, I am also rather forgetful at times, unfortunately, so please forgive me if I don't remember where I may have seen or gathered the names from, and state where I may have done so, at times. Okay, time to get started, folks. I will start with baseball teams and/or leagues first, whether such teams and leagues are real or not. And I will, at least at first, mix players from various eras of franchise histories, and some players may be assigned to certain franchises other than their own main real-world ones for various reasons, including possibly their main teams having no available roster slots for players on their all-time teams, for instance, More about this sports universe will be revealed as time passes, if and when possible. I will welcome opinions about my picks of players and coaches/managers for said teams, et cetera, as long as they are respectful, courteous, civil, constructive, non-threatening, and non-profane, et cetera. But I will not consider any opinions that are not those things, if I don't have to, either in relation to this post/thread I'm making now or any others. I welcome your suggestions, as well, if they meet the above criteria as well. And I can certainly take justified criticism and well-founded correction, I'm sure. The first team I will reveal my envisioning of an all-time roster for, folks, is the Boston Red Sox, from a version of the American League in my sports universe. I will try to go alphabetically by teams in leagues, when possible, as I reveal my hypothetical all-time teams for various franchises, et cetera. for that matter. Please feel free to give your opinions of my picks for players, et cetera, as you wish, then, as requested. But please remember to keep them as appropriate and as clean, et cetera, as possible, folks. Boston Red Sox (Managed by Joe Cronin): OF Ted WIlliams OF-1B Carl Yastrzemski 3B Wade Boggs OF Dwight Evans OF Jim Rice 2B Bobby Doerr SS-3B-2B Johnny Pesky SS Nomar Garciaparra P Cy Young P Roger Clemens C Carlton Fisk P Luis Tiant P Tim Wakefield P Pedro Martinez 1B David Ortiz 2B Dustin Pedroia C Jason Varitek 3B Frank Malzone 1B Mo Vaughn OF Dom DiMaggio P Bob Stanley P Jonathan Papelbon P Mike Timlin P Derek Lowe P Ellis Kinder In this universe, there is also no DH present, for instance, unless otherwise stated, when it comes to baseball or softball, so the pitchers WILL BAT except where I say otherwise. Many of the classic teams will not be able to have all their best players on their rosters, especially with teams like the Yankees, due to the stated roster limit of 25 players. Although I may decide later to add enough players for a 40-man roster per applicable baseball team. I had at least some difficulty picking players for this roster, and with other rosters as well, for reasons including not enough space for certain playing positions on said roster, of course. But I still tried to pick the best possible ones for this roster and certain others, just the same. That is all for now, I think, from this Turtle Pilgrim. I will post at least one of my ideas about a possibly suitable Chicago White Sox all-time roster later, possibly as early as Saturday, if not sooner, I think. Depends on how quickly I can manage it, and depends on how many responses this post/thread gets, at least, most likely. Turtle Pilgrim out. P.S. Unless otherwise stated, certain teams will stay in their classic locations, and I have not yet decided when this universe's starting year is, or starting years are, for various leagues, et cetera. I would welcome any number of well-thought-out suggestions, however, I believe, regarding such, folks. Turtle Pilgrim out. P.P.S. The image you have probably all been waiting for is here: I do not yet know how many of these uniforms I will be able to do without help, though, unfortunately. For the away version of this, imagine the pants and jersey parts, except for the stripes, are gray where you see white, at least for the main areas of the uniform. The font is Augusta. I will not likely be able to do an away version of this uniform, seeing as the image in question was saved on my computer as a JPG file, and then uploaded to DeviantArt as such. So you will probably have to imagine it in your minds, based on this. I got colors from Colorwerx as well, in terms of the RGB numbers, at least, folks. Hope you like this try here, still, though. If anyone might want to help me out here, in terms of creating the artistic renditions of uniforms for teams I will mention, please let me know, and I will see what happens. I can certainly try to do the writing part as best as I can, and then we'll see how things go, on the artistic side, whether I do other uniforms or not as well. Turtle Pilgrim out.
  2. I have known for months that my next concept series would be a MLB redesign. Major League Baseball is a league that holds on to its tradition more than any other league, so I decided to use this to create designs that combine different eras of the teams' histories. Before I begin, I should set some parameters (that I will try to keep from breaking): All colors, designs, etc. need to have been used by the team.I can combine elements from different logos, etc. to make a new logo. I am not necessarily trying to incorporate every past logo; instead I will try to end up with a concept that will look good while reflecting different eras of the teams' histories. I am not designing "throwback" uniforms. They aren't supposed to look like the jerseys that were worn in the 1940s; these are modern uniforms that incorporate old design elements. For this reason (and personal preference) I am using a template that has loose pants and socks instead of stirrups. I know that many of you aren't big fans of this look, but I want to replicate what MLB players are currently using. I am not necessarily going to create the look that I would want them to wear; there are probably going to be aspects of some uniforms that aren't my favorite, but I will still incorporate them into my design. That being said, I will not intentionally be creating ugly uniforms. I will give myself more freedom on the alternates, but they still must use elements that have been used before.Let me know what you think about the idea. Feel free to give suggestions about ways to improve the concept. A huge thanks to tbdaniel15 for creating the template that I am using. After I had the idea for this ScoffingYayap and (especially) SFGiants58 have done projects that have combined eras for some of the teams. They have done a very good job, and there will be some overlap with what they have done. I decided not to scrap the project just because others have had some of the same ideas I have. 3. Complete AL Uniform Adjustments and Concepts

Here is the complete lineup of American League uniform adjustments and concepts that I mentioned on my other page of National League concepts. (You can find that topic right here: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/103700-complete-nl-uniform-adjustments-and-concepts-updated/ ) They have been broken up into two parts due to the limit allowed on pictures per posting. I will possibly make better versions of each uniform on a better template eventually, but for now I've just finalized the ideas of my designs and I'm looking for feedback. A description of each jersey is at the bottom of the page. Using the Wikipedia template, I tried to keep all the jerseys as close to the way they look as possible and if anything enhance them or remove elements that I felt weren't necessary or I just didn't like. Also I've included BP jerseys with each of the uniform sets, as well as a few throwbacks. The BP jerseys are made to more resemble the previous version the MLB wore prior to the kind they wear now. As an added touch, I've given all the teams traditional style stirrup socks and I've cleaned up the colors on the shoes a little bit too. Here's each team in alphabetical order.
  4. Updating the Cleveland Indians Uniforms V.2

How's it going everyone, Happy Memorial Day! Last week I made a concept updating the current Cleveland Indians uniforms by tweaking a few things and I wasn't really satisfied, so I started updating everything on a new template that is used on the team's wikipedia page. I'll give a hat to cleats description and explain each uniform with a few notes to point out as well. Also to point out, the patch on the right sleeve is the Al Rosen #7 memorial patch the team is wearing for this season. Home Uniform: Hat: Blue hat with the chief wahoo logo and red bill Undershirt: Red undershirt Jersey: White jersey with red piping, Indians going across with red lettering and a blue trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: White pants with red and blue piping down the side with a red belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and red cleats Notes: Heavily favors the design of the uniforms worn from 1994-2001. Worn for Sunday night games instead of Sunday alternate. Away Uniform: Hat: All blue hat with block C logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Grey jersey with blue piping, Cleveland going across with blue lettering and a red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: Grey pants with blue and red piping down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats:Blue socks and black cleats Notes: No changes made to the entire uniform except the addition of the blue piping going down the jersey and the red stripe going down the side of the pants next to the blue stripe. Alternate 1 Home Uniform: Hat: blue hat with red bill and block C logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Cream jersey with blue piping, Indians going across in blue lettering and a red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: Cream pants with blue and red piping down the side with a red belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and Red cleats Notes: Only worn for Saturday and Sunday afternoon home games. Combines the 80's/90's uni's with an old school cream colored uniform. Alternate Away Uniform 1: Hat: All blue hat with Chief Wahoo logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Grey jersey with blue piping, Indians going across with red lettering and a blue trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: Grey pants with blue and red piping down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats: Blue socks and black cleats Notes: Worn for select away games. Heavily favors the design of the away uniforms worn from 1994-2001 except script Cleveland is replaced by script Indians. Alternate Home Uniform 2: Hat: Blue hat with red bill with Chief Wahoo logo Undershirt: Red undershirt Jersey: Blue jersey with red piping, Indians going across with red lettering and a white trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: White pants with red and blue piping down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and red cleats Notes: Worn on select weekday night games. Heavily favors the design of the alternate blue uniforms worn from 1998-1999 except script Cleveland is replaced by script Indians. Alternate Away Uniform 2: Hat: All blue hat with Block C logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Blue jersey with red piping, Cleveland going across in white lettering and a red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: Grey pants with blue and red piping down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats: Blue socks and black cleats Notes: Worn on select away games The jersey is modeled after the blue alternate worn from 1998-1999 except Cleveland is in block lettering. Alternate Home Uniform 3: Hat: Blue hat with red bill with Chief Wahoo logo Undershirt: Red undershirt Jersey: Red jersey with blue piping, Indians going across in white lettering and a blue trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Based off of 1997 All-Star Game HR Derby jerseys and plays homage to the red jerseys worn during the crooked C era. BP Home/Spring Training Home Uniform: Hat: Red hat with blue bill with block C logo Undershirt: Red undershirt Jersey: Blue Spring Training Jersey with red stripe down the sides, Indians going across in white lettering and red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: White pants with red and blue piping down the side with a red belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and red cleats Notes: Socks, cleats, and belt changes to blue during Spring Training. BP Away/Spring Training Away Uniform: Hat: Red hat with blue bill with block C logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Blue Spring Training Jersey with red stripe down the sides, Indians going across in white lettering and red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve Pants/Belt: Grey pants with blue and red stripe down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats: Blue socks and black cleats What do you think of this concept? I honestly as a fan, this set looks 10x better than the current sets the Tribe wears now and have always been a fan of the red dominating the home uniform as dominant blue has been an overkill with every team. Tell me what do you honestly think? Let me know.
  5. Ok, so here's the deal. I absolutely hate the Homerun Derby/ All Star BP Jerseys. Besides the colors and patch, the uniforms have nothing to tie them to the Minnesota Twins. And of course they came out with those boring Homerun Derby hats just to make money. What I have done was take the layout of the jersey, and replace the script with one that doesn't overkill the stars, and also incorporates a font from the Minnesota Twins and gives them a hat to match it. 6. Detroit Tigers Concept

After receiving positive feedback from my update to Detroit's road set, I decided to expand this into an entire Tigers refresh. Let's get to the changes I've made and the reasons behind them: Navy has been darkened. Gives a crisper feel in contrast to the orange. The orange is a bit bolder as well, to serve as a more outstanding accent color specifically in the absence of white on the traditional road set. The home "D" on the jersey now matches the "D" on the cap. I felt this was a necessary change to maintain uniformity throughout the identity. Both road jerseys feature piping around the sleeve cuff and "V" neck, in contrast to the current piping down the center. I felt this showed a genuine contrast between the home and road sets, but not enough to break the uniformity of the entire identity. White has been eliminated from the primary road set. I never liked the "double stroke" look around the wordmark, nameplate and numerals on the current roads. It looks outdated and crowded. A simpler navy with orange stroke shows a modern, clean, respectful update to one of the league's most revered ball clubs. I've added a road alternate set, for use during away games only. The Tigers' home whites are the only jerseys to be worn at Comerica Field, to maintain the club's traditional appearance. The navy roads may be worn on Friday or Sunday road contests. This navy jersey is a recoloration of the updated roads, featuring orange piping on the sleeves and neck. All three jerseys feature no sleeve artwork. This is to further maintain the cleanliness of the entire identity, and leave room for patches dedicated to special occasions. That about does it! I'd love to hear feedback from you all. Thanks! (Edit: I noticed I accidentally omitted the MLB logo on the back of the jerseys. Please ignore that small note.)
