  1. Hello. I am an animator and video editor and I have been working on and off on a logo redesign project for the better part of a year now (with long stretches of inactivity) as a way to get better at illustrator and I thought I would make an account here for some critique. I started really getting in to logo design when I came across a black and white and horribly pixelated design for a Fleur De Lis that I thought could be made into a St. Louis Blues logo, and after contacting the owner of the shop and asking about it and if I could mess with it, I did. I didn't really think it worked well as a main logo, but I did think it worked as a shoulder patch. I did it in a couple other colors as well and took the wordmark from the actual St. Louis Blues sheet music after an idea from the kind folks on the Blues subreddit. Over a year later I thought I decided I needed to get better at illustrator so I started designing alternate/shoulder logos for the rest of the league. I'm "done" with about 1/4 of the league at this point. Please let me know what you think and I would love to hear suggestions on what I need to improve on, but keep in mind I dont really know what I am doing. Also, if there is a better way to format this let me know. St. Louis Original: Wordmark: Colors: Revision: I did Minnesota next, where I thought a roundel logo would look cool. I did two variants of the same logo and one that was a riff on their main logo. 1: 2: 3: Colorado This one I actually think could stand up as a main logo. I got rid of their ugly "Millennium swoops' Winnipeg Classic colors: Modern Colors: Toronto: based on the city of Toronto's flag Ottowa: I wanted to play off their older logo that everyone loves so much without just making it an exact copy Revision: Buffalo: I took the crossed swords from their red logo days and put them behind the skull I drew. Penguins: I replaced the iconic triangle with a Pennsylvania keystone. Hopefully that doesn't make me a heretic. Revision: I put the penguin in a complete keystone and I like it, but I still think the half keystone looks better. Lightning: Honestly something's missing from this one, but everything I add makes it look worse so I decided to ask you all what you think. the L works pretty good but it seems empty. Again, these aren't really meant to replace the logo front of the jersey, most are meant to be shoulder patches, but this one feels empty. Wordmark: I thought trying to make it a wordmark would work a little bit better, and it does in some aspects, but it feels really empty still. Canadiens: I took the Fleur from the Montreal flag and tried to turn it in to an "M"which I think works pretty well, but I do think it needs some more polishing. I don't really like this better than their current logo but I think something like it could work as a shoulder patch 1: 2: Stars: I took their old star logo and updated the colors and added a recolored Texas flag. Then I removed the wordmark and had the star go through the middle of a D in the same style as the other letters 1: 2: After a bit of a hiatus, I am back. I took the Spirit of Detroit and added wings to it. I am not sure if I want to add something in his hands but I am pretty proud of this logo I have had this Preds logo in my back pocket for a little while now, its super simple and is kind of a combination of their shoulder patch and chest logo. I plan on doing another one for the Preds as well but I thought I'd post this one just to get an idea of what you guys think
  2. I personally think that some of the extinct hockey teams looked the best. The Whalers, Nordiques, Rockies, Jets, etc. had some of my favorite hockey designs ever, and instead now we get to feast our eyes on the Hurricanes and Avalanche. Sad. So, This is basically my attempt to rewrite history, if the new franchises continued the look of their formers, Starting out with the Whaler-Hurricanes. The whalers had one of the best logos in all of sports history, and awesome uniforms and color scheme to boot, which helps to make the Hurricanes design more unique. C&C appreciated, and although I have some more on tap, let me know what you'd like to see next! Thanks!
  3. Inspired by the chaos and fights in this thread, I decided to update the Colorado Avalanche's logo. Here it is below. It isn't a whole lot better than their current logo, but I tried to go off of what everybody in the thread said. Make the 'A' smaller and not-curved, and turn the oval into a circle. Only thing I did on my own was brighten the burgundy. I threw it together quickly and I don't like it that much, but I figured it'd be worth it to post. What do you think?
  4. Colorado Avalanche Concept

Hey all. I was messing around and made a Colorado Avalanche concept. I'm not sure if this would be an alt or a home jersey but I like it. I welcome all feedback and cc. Thanks guys!
  5. Fresh off my NY Islanders by Adidas set, I'm back with a new Colorado Avalanche by Adidas project! The logos are essentially the same, just the Rockies-esque logo from this year is eliminated. The navy sticks around as a secondary color, bringing a double blue to the Avs. The home and away feature the navy blue as the new main color, relegating burgundy to an accent. The mountain striping returns, and pays homage to the Rocky Mountains the team is named for. The Colorado C stays on the shoulders, as a symbol that the Avalanche represent the entire state of Colorado. The alternate is also based off of the Colorado flag, with the C at the center of a white line. The steel blue and burgundy colors return as the main colors for the set. Well there ya go! Rip 'em apart!
  6. 2016 NHL Stadium Series Redo

Here are some logos I made for the 2016 NHL Stadium Series that try to be a little more adaptive to the home team. Rip 'em apart. Colorado: Minnesota:
  7. Colorado Avalanche alternate logo

Hey, guys! This will be my first post on here because I never had the tools to properly make a concept for anything. And now that I do, I'll be posting occasionally. My first concept will be an alternate logo for the Colorado Avalanche. The inspiration comes from the current alternate logo they use, and an avalanche coming down from the Rocky Mountains. C&C welcome!
  8. Fixing the Colorado Avalanche

Before HJC announced its Avs redesign contest, I began working on a "fix" for the Avs alleged new third sweater (the one leaked by Icethetics) So this is what I came up with... Once HJC the redesign contest was announced, I figured it would be a good opportunity to use this concept and make a matching road to go along with it. C&C is always welcome, enjoy! Edit: I also decided to enter my Avs concept from my NHL Redux thread...
  9. As everybody on here probably knows, HockeyJerseyConcepts.com is holding a contest to see who has the best redesign for the Colorado Avalanche's 20th anniversary in Denver. They're allowing two entries per person, so here are my two entries. Set 1: Set 2 (Update 1.0!): Let me know what you think and what improvements I can make!
  10. Colorado Avalanche Rebrand

With the Avs getting 'New jerseys' at the draft, they missed a golden opportunity to replace the aprons they currently wear. Because of this, I decided to take advantage of the new logo they introduced and make a total makeover for the Avs. Here they are! I decided to keep the logos from the current era, as they're not that bad, but I added a recolored Rockies logo. The jerseys bring a modernized stance on the famous jerseys from the Stanley Cup eras, utilizing the Rocky Mountain imagery in a new way. The 3rd jersey is a way to connect with the previous 3rd jerseys of the organization, while bringing in a throwback-ish feel. Feedback is appreciated! Thanks! Primary Logo: Secondary Logo: Secondary Logo: Home Jersey: Away Jersey: 3rd Jersey:
  11. Colorado Avalanche Rebrand

So here I am again. I don't post very many concepts on here because I can only use .svg templates and they are hard to find but I found some I really like, huge shout out to the now not very active gingerbreadmann for the templates. Anyway, let's get to the actual uniforms: Here is the home: I really like the mountain striping so I tried to make a simpler form of that on the bottom. The CA logo font is Richardson Brand Accelerator and the NOB and numbers are Pointer Sans (a Conrad font, but aren't they all here?). Thanks for reading!
  12. Colorado Avalanche Redesign

Here's a redesign I made a while back for the Avs. I think it's better than their current set, and feedback is appreciated. Home: Away: Alternate 1 (Vote!): Alternate 2 (Vote!): Vote for which alternate looks better in the poll above!
  13. Colorado Avalanche logo redesign

Hello All, Here is my first post on this awesome forum. I've been playing around with redesigning a few NHL logos, here's my take on the Colorado Avalanche. Basically making the "A" a mountain. Please let me know what you think. A big shout out to davidson on his logo presentation video.
  14. Colorado Avalanche

I'll just put it bluntly. The current Colorado Avalanche jerseys are aggressively bland. And that's the best thing I can say about em. As I frequently say though, I'd post the originals that should never have been dumped, but that wouldn't be much of a concept. So after taking a bit of a break, I have returned. Home & Away...figured I'd incorporate a Colorado flag-based motif...and these mountains are taken from the state seal. Third...the logical conclusion.
  15. The current Avalanche logos and color scheme have a lot of potential in my opinion. The uniforms, however, are just plain atrocious, and the primary logo looks a little too cartoon-ish. To improve the primary logo, I straightened out the A, got rid of the unnecessary ring, and made the tip look more like the peak of a mountain. I didn't change the secondary foot logo, because it's a very solid logo in my opinion. I completely redesigned the uniform to a more classic style, because as I said before, their current uniforms are terrible.
  16. Hey guys I created a 2015 Winter Classic logo for San Francisco (AT&T Park) to feature the San Jose Sharks and the Colorado Avalanche. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks! I designed the logo to feature the scoreboard in the stadium.
