  1. When you have something you wanna improve on, you have something you wanna improve on. In this case, the split scripts I'd used for a Blue Jays set in the Rivalry Series. I've thought about making a contemporary uniform with those scripts for a while, and now is as good a time as any. The two scripts are based on older uniforms worn by the Jays' predecessors, the baseball Maple Leafs, with the addition of the Blue Jays' trademark split. The jay head is on the sleeve of the whites instead of the front because frankly, with this script, the front would just be too cluttered that way. For the hell of it, I included an alternate T cap. The alt blue is, like its RL counterpart, a negative of the homes, though I almost went with a royal-to-navy faux gradient and navy pants. The road alt recolors the grays into powder blue, with a powder-front cap to go with it. And since this one wouldn't leave me alone, fauxback pullovers, 80s style with the current scripts. Posting is a virtue.
  2. So, now that I got the Miami Marlins off my chest, I figured I should tweak the other teams that have been bothering me too. Nothing bothered me as much as the Marlins, but it doesn't take much to aggravate me...sadly. The next team I wanted to put a paint brush to was San Diego. Like most, I feel they should be going back to the brown and yellow colors. I on the other hand want to put more emphasis on the brown and keep the yellow to a minimum. I have no issue with their current word scripts and uniform style, I just feel the brown and yellow would look better. So with that in mind, here is my version of the Padres. The away has a grey that has very slight orange tint to it, just to give it some warmth with the brown and yellow. Then there is the Home alternate. The big trend of having the logo over the heart/left side is not missed on the Padres. I'm currently working on a brown top alternate for the road as well as a new main logo that will combine a few era's logos with the swinging friar as the center piece. How does that look? C+C appreciated.
  3. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a download of the modern jays font. I had to reset my computer and I lost all my fonts if anyone would be willing to share it thank you very much. P.S I have a Mac, I'm not sure if that makes it different.
  4. Blue Jays font

Hello anyone, I was wondering if anyone out there has the font the Blue Jays use (preferably the one that has the pointy edges) as I'm working on a photoshop project and I planned on using the font but all I can find is the back of jersey font and thats your run of the mill block font. I'm looking for the one on the front of the jerseys and numbers with the double lines.
  5. MLB Tweaks (Final Logos)

Hey everyone, For a while I've enjoyed to think about what kind of changes I would make to uniforms across MLB, just being into design as I am. I've always wanted to make a thread of my own here after seeing so many great ones, but never thought I had the computer skills, nor did I really think hand-drawns would show up great online. After my Twins concept though, I got to thinking and decided to at least try to flesh it out into an entire MLB-wide series. Things are probably gonna slow down quite a bit from me once school starts back up, but at least this is worth starting. This series is just gonna be my fixes to things across each of the uniforms, I'm gonna save major redesigns for maybe a future series... So here it goes starting off, naturally, with the Arizona Diamondbacks: Logos -Brick red, Black, and Teal are now the main colors. It's a good time for Arizona to move on to a more modern scheme. -The teal has been adjusted a bit, it's a little greener to look more like a color inspired by Native Navajo jewelry rather than Tron electric blue. -Caps are both the A logo, just because I'm personally not a fan of the D snake. -Both caps have the diamond snakeskin pattern on the brim to still achieve the two-tone look. -Sand-ish colors are still present in the identity, as the home is now cream, and the away is full-on the sand color. Uniforms -I like the way the 'D-backs' wordmark looks, besides the fact that it says 'D-backs'. I had to compromise and put the 'A' on the home. -The diamond pattern is on the back of all jerseys, which makes sense for a team named the Diamondbacks. -No pattern on the pants. It isn't really necessary. -I decided to keep the cut piping, but cut it at an angle on the jerseys, like the pants. The colors are also now teal/red/teal on the jerseys because I feel that looks more Arizona and less Tron. -As said before, the away is now sand. I didn't hate the concept of dark gray, just didn't think it fit the team, especially with teal. -Snake patch is on all jerseys. -Both alternates can be home and road. -Some may not like this, but all accessory elements are interchangeable. Things like hats, belts, and socks can be worn in different combinations with different jerseys. So, of course, let me know what you all think! All comments/criticisms welcome!
  6. Well, it's mid-June, and I'm a man of my word, so the Rivalry Series' spinoff begins. And as I'd told yall I'd do, I kick things off with the two Canadian teams, going back to 94 to do so. Les Amours...Les Expos...Les Miserables... I saw a variant of the pinwheel cap with powder blue front panels at Lids.com a while back, and had thought about using a similar cap in a concept for a while, so I made the road cap the way it is. Ultimately, the double sleeve piping is a small nod to the Royals. The only other quirk I could think of including was the contrasting placket with four fleurs-de-lis dotting it. Blue Jays Taking coco's suggestion, I based this set off the old baseball Maple Leafs (before anyone nitpicks about it, yes, I know of the current baseball Leafs), and decided to try incorporating the Jays' trademark split into both the script and the T-bars. This will either be a stroke of genius or proof of why you rarely see split scripts. Something I came across in my research before ultimately leaving to the side for now was a sleeve patch the Leafs used, of an old time ballplayer with a mustache that makes Rollie Fingers' handlebars look like stubble, and I figure if I take a normal stab at the Jays, I might find a way to at least evoke that stache.
  7. Hybrid Logos Series: Toronto Teams

Although I first posted the Boson/New England Hybrid logos it all started off the with my hometown, Toronto. I needed/still needed to tweak of the logos but here they are anyway. Toronto Raptors (Blue Jays) Hybrid Logo. I red did the font and use the Blue Jays logos clean line for inspiration but still can't not totally happy with it. I kept the original Raptors colours but this logo also looks good with the Blue Jays colours (below). This one is still a work in progress. I've been having a hard time getting this one jusssst right. Thoughts? Here's the logo in the Blue Jays colours with a different mouth. Which colour way do you like best? Toronto Blue Jays (Raptors) Hybrid Logo. \ This is my personal favourite. Using the original Raptors logo as inspiration by keeping font, layout, the legs and head position and making The Blue Jay hold a baseball and wear a baseball uniform. I kept the Jay's colours minus the red. Toronto Maple Leafs (Argonauts) Hybrid Logo. As dull as the Argos and Leafs logos are I did have to do something. Here I used the current Argo's logo, changed the "A" to a "L" and added maples leaves to the border of the shield. Toronto Argos (Maple Leafs) Hybrid Logo. I didn't have much to work with the Leafs logo. I re-did the entire font since its not available anywhere to download. I turned the Leaf into a "A" and kept the side of the leaf design so it didn't just look like a boring "A". Toronto Maple Leafs (Argos Classic Logo) I prefer the old Argos logo to the current one so I had to do another Maple Leafs Hybrid Logo based on the old one. Instead of the Argo I replaced it with a hockey player holding a hockey stick and a shield (couldn't think of anything hockey-ish to replace the shield). The helmet is changed to a hockey helmet with a leaf branded on it. Stuck with the old Argo colours. The line work needs to be cleaned up a bit. Thoughts, praise and criticism is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Just re-did the Toronto Raptors x Toronto Blue Jays Hybrid Logo. Made sharper lines and re-did the font. My big issue is what colour way looks better? You be the judge! Classic Raptors colours? Classic Blue Jays colours?
  9. Hybrid Logos Series

I've always had a fascination with sports and logos. As a kid, I would sketch re-imagine logos for teams from the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL. I always appreciate a good sport logos and strived to improve ones that were not so great (ie. Blue Jays T-Bird logo). I recently decided to go back to my logo loving roots. I thought, what it would look like if the Toronto Raptors logo looked like the Toronto Blue Jays logo and vice-vera? This is the birth of The Hybrid Logo Series. 11. MLB Alternate Batting Helmets

In the big leagues, many teams have alternate or away caps, but don't have a batting helmet to match it, making for inconsistent headgear. I decided to make batting helmets concepts based off these hats. The template didn't really turn out the way I wanted it to, but the helmets don't look bad. My favorite concept is the orange Marlins helmet. Since these concepts aren't anything new, I'll put them all in a few posts. C & C would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first time doing anything other than hockey jerseys. Thanks!
  12. Creighton Blue Jays

Yesterday during theology, my teacher (a Creighton alumni) broke out all her Blue Jays gear for the tournament. Looking at these logos made me realize, the Jays need an update. So I sketched a logo (similar to Toronto's, I KNOW). I put it on paint and here is my progress so far, I want to make a full body Jay but I can't seem to find out how without making it look awkward.
