  1. Does anyone know where I can find the piece written by Chris Creamer about the accuracy of the Brooklyn Dodgers logo on caps that are being sold nowadays? I was having some trouble locating it. I'd appreciate the help!
  2. UPDATE: Primary, secondary and wordmark added. Uniforms still to come.
  3. So, in my opinion, the new New York Islanders alternate jerseys aren't that bad. They're (Sadly) Brooklyn's team now, and they need to represent it. Alternate jerseys should also jump out of the box and be unique, which is what the new alternates are doing. The 'B' logo that's inside the arrow is on the sides of the pants, which is only visible on the full-body presentation. Regardless, I decided to see if I could 'Spice it up' a little, so here we go! I have one presentation with the jersey flat and another with it on a person. So yeah! Let me know what I could do to make it better, besides taking black out all together, below!
  4. The end. When you mourn something special that you'll want to relive someday...when you know you can ride off into the sunset, on your own terms, with no regrets...when you pour one...when one book closes for good, and another opens its blank pages. Who knows, maybe I'll look back and think this book was so good, I might wanna crack it open again. We're here, and so are the Dodgers... Dem Bums wore pinstripes off and on before the advent of the script...couldn't think of a cap so I just used the iconic one. The Giants roam the Polo Grounds one more time... The home set utilizes the blank fronts that were common before the 30s, while the all black roads are a tribute to early Giants manager John McGraw, who liked to put his nine in all black for World Series trips. And the damn Yankees... Pinstripe-free whites, a la the early 1910s, and pinstriped roads with a Yankees script a la their classic dugout jackets. And with that, I'm out of the park for now...
  5. Alright, so when the nets announced a few years ago that they were moving to Brooklyn, I was expecting a lot more for their identity. This was the first time professional sports would take over in Brooklyn since the Dodgers left. I figured, since Brooklyn is proud of their history, their identity would have resembled their only other professional team from the past, the Dodgers. I like the shield, and I like their identity already, but I figured I could combine it with the history of Brooklyn sports and create an identity that might be a little more fun to look at on the court, and a little more linked to Brooklyn. Primary: Alt. Logo: Home Uni: Road Uni: Alternate: (Note: The side pattern is supposed to represent the bottom of a basketball net, and also it is taken from this dodgers logo: http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/6152/Brooklyn_Dodgers/1911/Primary_Logo )
  6. With the recent rumors involving the Nets and the Dodgers' owners talking about combining assets, I figured this would be the perfect time to unveil a Nets Alternate jerseys concept I've had for a while. Rumor has it, the Nets asked permission from the Dodgers for the script 'Brooklyn' font that everybody knows and is familiar with - the Dodgers denied. I was thinking, if Prokhorov and Guggenheim Sports and Entertainment do combine assets, the Dodgers may allow us to use that script wordmark. So, with that being said, here's my jersey concept, along with a few logos I made a while back to compliment the Dodgers-style jersey. Knowing the Nets, I'd really doubt that they bring in an Away version of this jersey, but here's what that would like like (rough draft). If you would like to see the logo changes I made, check them out here: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/97655-brooklyn-nets-brooklyn-blue-concepts/ Let me know what you guys think!
  7. The Brooklyn Nets will be wearing their first Alternate Jerseys tabbed ‘Brooklyn Blue Jerseys’ for 5 of their last 8 Home Games. The jerseys will feature their regular ‘BROOKLYN’ wordmark in Blue with a grey jersey with sleeves. I decided to mock-up the Nets current logos and Home Jersey in those Colors. The Grey/White/Blue color scheme must have been considered, since the old Brooklyn Dodgers featured the same color scheme. As a Nets fan, I really like how the White looks with the Dodger Blue. Even though I really like the Black & White color scheme the Nets went with, the White/Grey/Blue looks really nice and clean. (More on my Twitter - @MikeKing00) *EDIT* New Secondary Logo's: Home Jersey: In-Game Jersey: Tell me what you think!
  8. The Nets will be wearing "Brooklyn Blue" sleeved jerseys for 5 home games coming up to end the season. So I thought, what if they chose the White/Blue/Gray color scheme over the Black/White... Possible other logo: Secondary Logos: And the other scheme: *EDIT* New Secondary Logo's: AND finally, the Home Jersey: In-Game Jersey: What do you think?
  9. Heres my attempt at updating the Islanders for their move to the barclays center. They may be a storied franchise and tradition is very important but their logo is godawful. Full project available HERE. Logos Home Uni (Uni template basically unchanged) Away Uni Alt Uni Let me know what you think.
  10. With the Islanders moving to Brooklyn soon, I decided to give them a slightly new look adding the Brooklyn bridge and bringing back the victory stripes. The third/winter classic jersey is based on the Brooklyn Americans. c/c?
  11. Ok I'd like to first off give a huge thanks to Bmac. I had an extremely rough draft thrown together on MS Paint and he cam threw cleaned it up and made it presentable. On to the concept... When I heard of the Islanders plans to move to Brooklyn, I came to the conclusion that they needed an upgrade. A makeover. Here are some of the thoughts that went into the concept: With the Nets moving into Brooklyn and getting a new look, I figured the Islanders deserved to as well. I wanted color. Don't get me wrong I like the Black and White combo for the Nets. I find it crisp and clean. I just didn't think two teams in the same area needed the same scheme (both on rebrands). I disliked the old color combos. The 95-96 "Gorton's Fisherman" logo scheme of Teal/Orange/Navy, just no. Orange and Blue is a good combo, don't get me wrong I'm just tired of seeing it. (See: Oilers, Mets, DET Tigers, Auburn Tigers, CHI Bears, Thunder, Bobcats, Knicks etc...you get the point) I love the combo of Blue/Green/Yellow, I find that the colors really POP and they meld together really crisply. As far as a logo I love the shape of Long Island and really wanted to brand the team as the Islanders, hence the island. I'd love to some how incorporate the Brooklyn Bridge in to another logo, but I lack the skill-set to pull this off. I originally did the colored jersey and loved the striping Green/Blue/Yellow/Blue/Green and decided it was too good to mess with and kept it on the white, but for continuity I kept the blue on either side of the striping. The concept: I'd love to hear some feedback on these. Once again a huge thank you to Bmac!
