    Southeastern Conference Super Expansion

Okay, so it seems I've caught the college football fever a tad early this summer, and I've had the concept in mind for some years now, so I decided to run with it (finally). My idea comes from the ever popular idea of super conferences in college athletics. You've heard it all before I'm sure, sixteen schools, four divisions, the whole nine. Personally, I value regional location for conference affiliation over the money, so however unrealistic it is for some schools to be in certain conferences monetarily, this is the time where I point out it's my concept . Uniform updates will follow with all. First up will be the Southeastern Conference, being Mississippi native for my entire life and a graduate of Ole Miss I'm somewhat partial to the SEC. So here goes. The Southeastern Conference will have a centralized location and headquarters in the mecca of the South, and one of my favorite (and possibly future home of) Atlanta, Georgia. This includes location for all championship matchups and tournaments, meaning not only the SEC Championship Football Game, but for the purpose of this concept the Basketball and Baseball Tournaments. Atlanta is more than capable of hosting such events with a plethora of hotels, metro areas, and state of the art facilities, two of which are completed and brand new (Mercedes Benz Stadium - SEC Football Championship, SunTrust Park - SEC Baseball Tournament), and one of which is undergoing renovations currently (Philips Arena - SEC Basketball Tournament). This brings us to the member institutions and how they will be divided up. My vision for the SEC has the conference leaving the Big 12 footprint of Texas and Missouri, and instead focusing on states already within the geographic footprint of the "current South," including the state of North Carolina (where I believe the SEC Network is currently located). There is also a heavy emphasis on developing and continuing in-state rivalries, as well as historic rivalries, in this concept. As I said earlier in the post, there will be four divisions. They are as follows: The SEC East, The SEC North, The SEC South, The SEC West, giving us a total map look as follows. I tried to split these up geographically as best I could. Here are Division Specifics: The SEC East: - Clemson University. Location: Clemson, South Carolina. Mascot: Tigers. Colors: Purple, Orange, White. ~110 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - University of Georgia. Location: Athens, Georgia. Mascot: Bulldogs. Colors: Red, Black, White. ~59 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - Georgia Tech University. Location: Atlanta, Georgia. Mascot: Yellow Jackets. Colors: Old Gold, Navy, White. 1.8 Miles from Downtown Atlanta, GA. - University of South Carolina. Location: Columbia, South Carolina. Mascot: Gamecocks. Colors: Garnet, Black, White. ~195 Miles from Atlanta, GA. The SEC North: - University of Kentucky. Location: Lexington, Kentucky. Mascot: Wildcats. Colors: Royal Blue, White, Silver. ~296 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Mascot: Tar Heels. Colors: Carolina Blue, White, Navy. ~338 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Location: Knoxville, Tennessee. Mascot: Volunteers. Colors: Orange, White, Smokey Grey. ~157 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - Vanderbilt University. Location: Nashville, Tennessee. Mascot: Commodores. Colors: Black, Vegas Gold, White. ~216 Miles from Atlanta, GA. The SEC South: - University of Alabama. Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Mascot: Crimson Tide. Colors: Crimson, White, Grey. ~186 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - Auburn University. Location: Auburn, Alabama. Mascot: Tigers. Colors: Navy, Orange (Auburn), White. ~115 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - University of Florida. Location: Gainesville, Florida. Mascot: Gators. Colors: Royal Blue, Orange, White. ~310 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - Florida State University. Location: Tallahassee, Florida. Mascot: Seminoles. Colors: Garnet, Vegas Gold, White. ~230 Miles from Atlanta, GA. The SEC West: - University of Arkansas. Location: Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mascot: Razorbacks. Colors: Cardinal, White, Black. ~576 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - Louisiana State University. Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mascot: Tigers. Colors: Purple, Athletic Gold, White. ~460 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - University of Mississippi. Location: Oxford, Mississippi. Mascot: Rebels. Colors: Navy, Red, White. ~300 Miles from Atlanta, GA. - Mississippi State University. Location: Starkville, Mississippi. Mascot: Bulldogs. Colors: Maroon, White, Grey. ~256 Miles from Atlanta, GA. I do plan to write a post for each school as to why they are in the SEC (if they aren't a current or founding member), what makes them a good fit, and what they bring to the table for the conference, the rivalries, and the tradition. I will also note that this concept (when it comes to uniforms) will put huge emphasis on uniformity of design across word marks, scripts, logos, and sports. In other words, a school is it's brand, and that brand and it's elements will be seen across all three of the big sports in their uniforms, fields, courts, etc. C&C please! Like I said, not perfect realistically or logistically, but what my SEC would be in a Super Conference era, perfect HuntTheJones world!

    Georgia Bulldogs Concept

Here is a concept I made based off of Georgia's 1980 period uniforms. I liked what Clemson did a year ago by modernizing their uniforms from their national championship years so that's what . I wanted to do with my UGA concept. Would love some feedback as this is my first time ever messing with this kind of stuff on photoshop.
  3. So as I sit here and watch Last Chance U on Netflix, I get the urge to try and tackle a possible rebrand of JUCO football teams here in the Magnolia State. Being a lifelong resident of the Coast, I wanted to start with Mississippi Gulf Coast (MGCCC) in Perkinston, as it is the "hometown" team around these parts. So for now, they are as far as I have gotten. I plan on doing the rest at some point, and you can follow that at huntthejones.wordpress.com if you wish. For those who don't know, they go by simply by Perk, Gulf Coast, or MGCCC. They are the Bulldogs, and their colors are Navy, Gold, White, and they have started to integrate a light Grey here recently that I think I'll run with as well. A quick Google search will turn up their current logo set which includes a rendition of the old Mississippi State primary, where "STATE" is replaced by "GULF COAST" and a secondary bulldog head that you see in Walmart on the local high school team shirts. The primary is pretty much cemented into the culture around the school (so much so that they have unofficially adopted the phrase "Hail Perk", so replacing it won't ever do, and I attempted to upgrade what is there by simply, well, making it simpler. The bulldog was my real project here. I wanted to create something that was iconic, simple, and theirs. So I searched an image for their particular mascot and turned up this as my inspiration: I sketched it up quickly and tried to turn it into a logo, which is where I need some C&C as I feel like it's missing something. So without any further rambling, here is the tentative logo set. My questions are, how does the Bulldog function as a logo, what does it need? Should I drop they Grey entirely? C&C please. Uniforms, etc. to follow.
  4. Hi So as a Brit living here in the US I love the NFL, many at home love it too which is why we are certain to get a team in the near future especially since the NFL gave $125 million towards Tottenham Hotspurs new stadium. On that note when we do get a team what shall our name be? Colours look extra. I have had this discussion on here before and came to realize that although the natural conclusion is to go red white and blue for the national colours, on reflection too many teams in the NFL have this colour scheme. Thus for us to have a successful team we need to stand out and be unique. Another problem is most NFL UK have a team getting them to switch allegiances will be tough, however this will not happen if the team has London as its place name. Like how Boston Patriots became New England Patriots, we have to represent our whole island. Four Nations will unite us all around one team. when thinking of a symbol to unite us I looked no further than the British Bulldogs. I looked at all the teams and originally wanted to go with a ww1 British uniform colour however the colour was a bit too sickly green. Yet brown kept appearing during this period for uniforms and when I blended the dark red with the brown and silver I thought I had hit on something unique. The patch on the jersey I quickly through together but wanted the final design to have a patch that had a flower from each of the four countries in the Uk, English rose, Scottish thistle etc. The only problem i'm having is I have only just started graphic design and I'm not ready to make my own fonts yet. I really want to get tee shirts made of this concept so I can support the idera of us getting a team in the NFL but feel I need a great word mark to tie the brand together. Would any one on here be willing to make a word mark based of my idea that I could use? I would be so Grateful. Other than that let me know your thoughts on my concept, as I greatly value the community's opinion given how talented you all are. Thanks for taking the time to look
  5. Working on a 1983 themed March Madness bracket and I'm finding these Gonzaga logos without years. Which one do you think they used then? I've gone through online yearbooks without success and I believe the current bulldog head logo appeared in '98. Thank you.

    UGA Mach Speed for 2017

This thread isn't so much a concept as it is a prediction for the Georgia Bulldogs next set of uniforms in 2017. After reading some discussion on UGA forums, it sounds like the Dawgs will upgrade to the Nike Mach Speed template in 2017. Unless Kirby Smart wants to bring his own flavor to the Georgia uniform (praying he doesn't bring back the black striped helmet he wore or the red jersey and black pants combination), it would be reasonable to assume Georgia will mostly just take its current design and transition to the new template. We know the new coach is open to black jerseys as recruits have been seen wearing them. They feature the large collar and Bulldog Bold font, so we know they aren't just recycled from 2007 and 2008. They are brand new jerseys. What I'd like to see is at least bring back red and black pants to be used sparingly on the road and maybe an all black look (normal helmet). The pants designs I propose still use the same stripe as the silver pants, so there is a hidden stripe...just like the 2009 black pants (leave that helmet in the past). These designs would be the only ones used, and ideally Georgia would wear the normal red and white jerseys with silver britches 8-9 games a year. Perhaps a blackout once or twice with a game or two on the road with different pants. One of my Georgia guys suggested next year could go without contrasting collars and cuffs. Not sure how legitimate that is but here is that mockup.
  7. Here's something I've been working on recently. After seeing that so many high schools and even some colleges use the same few cartoon bulldog images as their logos again and again, I decided to take a crack at it and create my own version. Of course there are some colleges with original and solid bulldogs, but overall I wanted to stray away from that cartoon Looney Toons bulldog look that is everywhere and make something original. I kept the cliche spiky collar because apparently a bulldog isn't a bulldog without one. The full project can be seen on behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/36390445/Bulldogs-Logo NOTE: All logos in this thread may not be used without prior consent of Greg Hahn.

    Nordiques 2017 Concepts

Hey guys. For my first post on the boards, I will be sharing some concepts with you guys. Now almost a month ago, I was hearing stuff about the NHL's possible expansion to Quebec. And I wondered, "what would those uniforms look like?". So here you go. Let's start with the home uniform. We've got a mix of vintage and modern in this concept, so here you go.
