  1. Rebranding of NBA on ESPN scorebug.

I was bored. Can you guys leave some feedback?
  2. It's named "CCSLC Forum Brackets", and the password is "ccslcforum". I didn't put a year in the name of the group because I wanted it to be one that everyone can rejoin every year without it having the previous year in the title. If you are interested in joining, please post that here so that we know who is playing. If you decide to play, please name the bracket with your CCSLC usersname (you don't have to rename your username) so that we know which brackets are associated with which people. ONLY one bracket per person per group. Same group name and password for the following sites... ESPN Group CBS Sports Group Yahoo! Group NCAA March Madness Group Because the ESPN group gets a better showing, I encourage everyone to join that one. If there isn't a good showing in the other groups this year, they will likely not be continued in following years. 2016 EDIT: All the groups above except for the NCAA March Madness group were reactivated. I had to make a new group for the NCAA March Madness group because the NCAA site doesn't save groups from previous years. All the links above should work for this year. The Sports Illustrated group and Fox Sports group from last year (2015) were removed because of lack of people. New for this year (2016), here's an ESPN Group for the women's basketball tournament... ESPN Group (Women's Tournament) ESPN Second Chance (Restart Bracket at Sweet 16) ESPN Second Chance Group 2017 EDIT: All the groups from 2016 are back and the links should work. Again, I encourage everyone to join the ESPN one because it gets the best participation. The Second Chance group will be reactivated once ESPN has it up again.
  3. I was watching Allen Iverson's 30 for 30 and saw his rival school's logo. I researched the Hampton crabbers and found out they still have the same logo. They also have problem with brand control, they use many logos that aren't connected. I attached my concept along with the logos they use. The crabs claw form an H. I feel like I need to change the eyes but don't know what i should do. C&C wanted.
  4. New ESPN CBB Score Bug

Don't know if it's been posted yet, I was watching the Pirates game and saw they finally unveiled it, there are some ups and downs, I think. I'm not sure if it's an upgrade or not
  5. Redesign of ESPN's Score Bug

I was watching the NCAA volleyball semifinals last night, and noticed how dated and hard to read the score bug was. I tried my hand at redesigning it. I didn't change too much as far as the concept goes, just tried to clean it up and make it look nicer. Before: After:
  6. http://money.cnn.com/2015/07/08/media/keith-olbermann-espn/index.html At the end of July, Keith Olbermann will be unemployed once again. His show is done. I know he's a controversial figure, but I've always admired his willingness to go after those who deserve to be torn a new one. It's one of those things where blatantly insulting one of the cash cows of ESPN takes massive precedent over editorial opinion of a deservedly controversial figure.
  7. ESPN Redesigns Website

http://espn.go.com/ first redesign of website since 2009; http://espn.go.com/espn/redesign/?addata=2015_Redesign_Web_Welcome_CFA Info about it: http://www.fastcompany.com/3044445/tech-forecast/espn-just-redesigned-its-site-for-the-time-since-2007-here-are-4-takeaways http://techcrunch.com/2015/03/31/espn-launches-a-big-redesign-for-its-web-versions/ Before: After:
  8. Found a ESPN Sportscenter template (.PSD) yesterday on the MLB The Show forum that was posted back in June. Not every detail is perfect but I think it's close enough. After making a few minor changes to the original creator's template here's what my versions look like... Showing stats/highlights from 9/28/2014. News from that day include Packers vs Bears (shown in highlights), first Packers game after Rodgers' RELAX statement, Teddy Bridgewater's first NFL start, Steve Smith vs Panthers, JJ Watt 80-yd pick 6 vs Bills, last day of MLB regular season, and Jordan Zimmermann's no-hitter. Here's the other version that I made using parts of the template above... I will share my 2 versions after I get some C&C first. So I got a little C&C and got the fonts right so here are my versions of the template: http://www.mediafire.com/download/yw482vg649lp0tx/ESPN+SC+Highlights+1.psd http://www.mediafire.com/download/bhrb8ahhn44f4k7/ESPN+SC+Highlights+2.psd Original creator's template http://forums.theshownation.com/showthread.php?t=27240 Here's what the actual graphics looks like... https://twitter.com/cjzero/status/480911500794527746 http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/06/sportscenter-set-espn-ticker-new
  9. With March Madness starting in just over a week, I figured it was time to start a group for brackets. I just started one on ESPN for all CCSLC members. The name of the group is "CCSLC Brackets 2014" and the password for the group is "ccslc2014." If you are interested in joining, please post that here so that we know who is playing. If you decide to play, please name the bracket with your CCSLC username so that we know which brackets are associated with which people. 10. ESPN 30 for 30 Short: Untucked about Marquette's 1977 men's basketball championship jersey, which were untucked. (Now jerseys have to be tucked in) http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=10538699 VIDEO: 15 minutes "In 1977, Marquette coach Al McGuire let his star player, Bo Ellis, design the team's uniforms. The most iconic, the untucked jersey, signified the power of uniforms and the benefits of a creative atmosphere, which allowed a Championship team to flourish." (ESPN)
  11. I've mentioned my pro-boxed cousin "Golden" Caleb Truax in these forums before. Well, tomorrow night he will be fighting on ESPN Friday Night Fights (actually on ESPN2), as the co-main event to a world title bout. This actually is Caleb's second appearance on FNF, having knocked out Donovan George back in June. (Oddly enough, Rances Barthelemy, the challenger in the aforementioned title fight, was also on that earlier FNF.) He was also on Showtime once in 2012 (vs. Jermain Taylor, Caleb's only loss so far in his career.) As if this news wasn't exciting enough, the fight is on a card being promoted by none other than Mike Tyson, who will be at ringside. It is being held at Target Center. Naturally, I will be on hand - it'll be the first time I have ever set foot in that arena.
  12. I have no idea how far this will actually go since the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) and the National Cable and Telecommunications Association are major lobbyists to Congress, but Sen. McCain, who is no longer on the Senate Commerce Committee, introduced The TV Consumer Freedom Act of 2013 on Thursday. McCain said the legislation is intended to: Keep in mind that McCain tried to introduce "a la carte" pricing in 2006 too, and that failed. Both Deadspin and The Big Lead have talked about the possible impact on the conference networks, like FOX with the BTN, and the just announced ESPN ownership of the SEC Network of us as US viewers. Cablevision and Dish Network have been interested in an "a la carte" model, with Verizon FIOS wanting to pay the channel based on its actual audience. McCain placed a poison pill to eliminate local blackouts in a facility which received federal, state, or local financing. Thoughts?
  13. ESPN recently made a 30 for 30 Shorts video about Clint Malarchuk and his life after hockey. For those who don't know, Malarchuk was a Buffalo Sabres goalie who had his neck sliced open by a skate blade. I found this short film to be very interesting to watch, and I learned a lot about Malarchuk. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9319085/clint-malarchuk-20-year-road-recovery-latest-30-30-documentary-series
  14. Today the South Eastern Conference and ESPN announced that on August 14th, 2014 the SEC Network launches. This is a 20 year deal includes a new television network and digital platform that will show SEC sports 24/7, including more than 1,000 events in the first year. Included in the programming will be 45 football games, more than 100 men's and more than 60 women's basketball games, 75 baseball games and selected events from the other 17 SEC sports.
