  1. New NY Giants Uniforms

Hey, I find the Giants current uniforms to be, while classic, rather bland. So, I decided to revamp the uniforms: Both uniforms are based on the 1980s-90s Giants uniforms with a few changes: 1) The white pants currently on the Giants alternate home uniform will be implemented on the new unifoms 2) The socks on the away uniform will be red 3) An all-new, matte finished helmet with the "NY" logo featuring a new red border and new blue Lemme know what y'all think and provide suggestions!
  2. The MetLife Stadium Apocalypse

So this is more of a curiosity question that I...thought would go here, but I'm not entirely sure. Feel free to move if it belongs somewhere else. In case you haven't already seen it, WSJ posted a video online a few years back detailing the process for changing MetLife Stadium from Giants to Jets. It's a fairly time consuming ordeal, taking roughly two full work days. In other words, not a process that can be completed overnight. So my question is...if in some alternate reality the Giants and Jets both hosted a playoff game on the same weekend, what do you think they would do in regards to stadium decor? Would they find some way to hurriedly change end zone panels inbetween the game, or would they just go with some kind of neutral color "New York" wordmark? I do know both teams hosted wild card games in the playoffs after the 1985 season, but I'm not having any luck finding pictures of what they did then...
  3. NFL Playoff Wallpapers

Hello all! I've been a pretty busy commentator here on the boards, but I've never done an actual concept series. I started one, but I was ill prepared to continue it. Now here I am with a concept series that we've kind of seen before. Much like the Bowl Game Wallpapers from Forbes, here is an NFL Playoff series of wallpapers starting wiht the AFC and NFC Wildcard Rounds. The concept is pretty simple, helmets facing each other, on a colored background of the team colors. The goal was to use three team colors if possible, but with the Packers and Giants and such, I had to use only two. C&C much appreciated as always, let's go ahead and get to it.
  4. Giants Away Jersey Concept

Oh look, another Giants jersey concept. What's new? No but seriously, here's my take on the Giants' road jersey.
  5. MLB Tweaks (Final Logos)

Hey everyone, For a while I've enjoyed to think about what kind of changes I would make to uniforms across MLB, just being into design as I am. I've always wanted to make a thread of my own here after seeing so many great ones, but never thought I had the computer skills, nor did I really think hand-drawns would show up great online. After my Twins concept though, I got to thinking and decided to at least try to flesh it out into an entire MLB-wide series. Things are probably gonna slow down quite a bit from me once school starts back up, but at least this is worth starting. This series is just gonna be my fixes to things across each of the uniforms, I'm gonna save major redesigns for maybe a future series... So here it goes starting off, naturally, with the Arizona Diamondbacks: Logos -Brick red, Black, and Teal are now the main colors. It's a good time for Arizona to move on to a more modern scheme. -The teal has been adjusted a bit, it's a little greener to look more like a color inspired by Native Navajo jewelry rather than Tron electric blue. -Caps are both the A logo, just because I'm personally not a fan of the D snake. -Both caps have the diamond snakeskin pattern on the brim to still achieve the two-tone look. -Sand-ish colors are still present in the identity, as the home is now cream, and the away is full-on the sand color. Uniforms -I like the way the 'D-backs' wordmark looks, besides the fact that it says 'D-backs'. I had to compromise and put the 'A' on the home. -The diamond pattern is on the back of all jerseys, which makes sense for a team named the Diamondbacks. -No pattern on the pants. It isn't really necessary. -I decided to keep the cut piping, but cut it at an angle on the jerseys, like the pants. The colors are also now teal/red/teal on the jerseys because I feel that looks more Arizona and less Tron. -As said before, the away is now sand. I didn't hate the concept of dark gray, just didn't think it fit the team, especially with teal. -Snake patch is on all jerseys. -Both alternates can be home and road. -Some may not like this, but all accessory elements are interchangeable. Things like hats, belts, and socks can be worn in different combinations with different jerseys. So, of course, let me know what you all think! All comments/criticisms welcome!
  6. So, now that I got the Miami Marlins off my chest, I figured I should tweak the other teams that have been bothering me too. Nothing bothered me as much as the Marlins, but it doesn't take much to aggravate me...sadly. The next team I wanted to put a paint brush to was San Diego. Like most, I feel they should be going back to the brown and yellow colors. I on the other hand want to put more emphasis on the brown and keep the yellow to a minimum. I have no issue with their current word scripts and uniform style, I just feel the brown and yellow would look better. So with that in mind, here is my version of the Padres. The away has a grey that has very slight orange tint to it, just to give it some warmth with the brown and yellow. Then there is the Home alternate. The big trend of having the logo over the heart/left side is not missed on the Padres. I'm currently working on a brown top alternate for the road as well as a new main logo that will combine a few era's logos with the swinging friar as the center piece. How does that look? C+C appreciated.
  7. NY Giants Road Uniform Concept

So I'm a huge Giants fan, and I've never really been on board with their current road uniform. The thing about it that really bugs me is that blue is practically absent from the whole uniform, except for the helmet, which looks out of place because neither the jersey nor the pants have much blue on them at all. I don't understand why a team nicknamed "Big Blue" can have a home jersey that is all blue and a road jersey that has no blue on it whatsoever. So, I've made my own version of what I think the Giants should be wearing on the road. The concept mixes elements from their current road jersey, like the stripes on the sleeves, and from the one they wore from 2000 to 2004, like the blue collar and the red numbers w/ blue outline. As a fan, I believe this would be a big upgrade from what they are currently wearing. Let me know what you think.
  8. The end. When you mourn something special that you'll want to relive someday...when you know you can ride off into the sunset, on your own terms, with no regrets...when you pour one...when one book closes for good, and another opens its blank pages. Who knows, maybe I'll look back and think this book was so good, I might wanna crack it open again. We're here, and so are the Dodgers... Dem Bums wore pinstripes off and on before the advent of the script...couldn't think of a cap so I just used the iconic one. The Giants roam the Polo Grounds one more time... The home set utilizes the blank fronts that were common before the 30s, while the all black roads are a tribute to early Giants manager John McGraw, who liked to put his nine in all black for World Series trips. And the damn Yankees... Pinstripe-free whites, a la the early 1910s, and pinstriped roads with a Yankees script a la their classic dugout jackets. And with that, I'm out of the park for now...
  9. Bay Bridge Series specials: Giants vs A's

Previous rivalry sets: Crosstown (Cubs vs White Sox), Subway (Yankees vs Mets), Freeway (Angels vs Dodgers) Originally, this was gonna be Dodgers vs. Giants. Then I got the brilliant suggestion of Giants-A's, so I went in that direction instead. Giants...for once as far as these rivalry uniforms go, I went with consistency...and I figured the last time I based a baseball uniform on a local basketball team, it'd been very well received, so let's bring the greatest uniform in hardwood history to the diamond. Complete with a slightly modified trolley car. Because Hunter Pence eats Fruit Loops with chopsticks. A's...I figure one thing, the old Oakland Oaks were going to provide most of the inspiration of this set, and I quickly latched onto the acorn and the Old English O, and a jersey the Oaks wore in the early 40s, as far as I could tell. The home white has the A's acorn on the front, green raglan sleeves and gold T-bar striping, while the road is a green-gray with green T-bars and the English O on the front. The thick gold stripe on the socks is meant to stand in for the gold sanitaries. Bonus: Dodgers (vs Giants)...in all honesty, basing the home whites off of the LA flag colors was, in retrospect, not exactly a MENSA level decision. If I'd done the Freeway set first, I'd have never made the home uniform. Probably should've just gone with a white version of the roads, as its zigzag pattern is also inspired by the LA flag. I dunno, maybe subconsciously I still have the occasional "WTF man! Are you high?" concept in me.
  10. http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=52573446 I'm not sure if this means they're bringing them back or just selling them on the site, but every other jersey on the page was one they're currently using
  11. MLB Alternate Batting Helmets

In the big leagues, many teams have alternate or away caps, but don't have a batting helmet to match it, making for inconsistent headgear. I decided to make batting helmets concepts based off these hats. The template didn't really turn out the way I wanted it to, but the helmets don't look bad. My favorite concept is the orange Marlins helmet. Since these concepts aren't anything new, I'll put them all in a few posts. C & C would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first time doing anything other than hockey jerseys. Thanks!
  12. As a Giants fan, I have only a few gripes with our uniform set: the lack of white, TV numbers not being on the sleeves for the home jersey, and the lack of a throwback. Credit for the templates goes to Darth Brooks and Davidson.
  13. The San Francisco Giants are adding Barry Bonds to the Spring Training staff as a Special Instructor. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/10502984/san-francisco-giants-add-barry-bonds-special-instructor-spring So what does every one think about adding PED user to their staff? Would you bring Alex Rodriguez back to the Yankees or Sammy Sosa back to the Cubs as Special Instructors or Hitting Coaches? I know Mark McGwire is the Hitting Coach with the Dodgers, and previously with the Cardinals, but he admitted to using PEDs and Bonds hasn't yet.
  14. New York Football Giants concept

This is an idea obviously lifted from the current Northwestern uniform. Clear intellectual theft, so it would never happen, but I just wanted to see how it might look. The G-men actually have one of the few uniforms I'd personal leave completely untouched, but I thought I'd see what others thought.
  15. Here are six NFL concepts I made. Chargers (revised logo, new uniforms) Lions (new uniforms, revised color scheme) Bengals (revised wordmark, new uniforms) Eagles (new logos and uniforms) Giants (revised uniforms) Steelers (revised logos and uniforms)
  16. Mets road tweak
