  2. Cleveland Indians Concepts

Hello, This is the first time I've ever done a concept. It is rough, but i hope you guys like it. So, the MLB wants Cleveland to get rid of Chief Wahoo. Their current logo is boring, plain, and doesn't say "Indians" Here are the logos and uniforms! Hope you enjoy! This is their current "C" logo with some feathers attatched This is and old "Indians" on their current jerseys with the block C and a new hat. Current Away jersey with new C, and hat
  3. Went on Dribbble today and found a great concept for the Cleveland Indians. The work was done by Danny Sherman, I'm not sure if he's on the boards so I wanted to show of this great piece in his behalf. I think that that negative space "I" in the block C really helps give it that little spark of interest that their current primary logo desperately needs. If you're on Dribbble, go give him some love: https://dribbble.com/shots/3080323-Cleveland-Still-Rocks
  4. I didn't know where else to put something like this, but the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) had THE BEST tribute to the Cleveland Indians I've ever seen. They really went ALL OUT for their specialty night. Take a look at those socks! Arena graphics used Tribe graphics, the ceremonial pucks, and it even went to a shootout...won in the bottom of the 9th round. Can't beat that. Bravo, Monsters. Bravo.
  5. The 2016 World Series will be a historic one, to put it mildly. The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series in 108 years; the Indians have waited 68. In just a few days' time, the history of one of those long-suffering teams will be changed forever. That's a pretty big deal. So for this set, I decided to look at some meaningful uniforms the two teams have worn over the last century. Much like my previous entries in this series, these uniforms would be worn a couple times per season, tops. The Cubs and Indians aren't true rivals, but I have a feeling they'll become them after this postseason. Let's start with the Cubs: CHICAGO CUBS For the Cubs home set, I decided to go with a clean, pinstripe-less look based on their home unis from 1945, which was the last time they appeared in the World Series. I used their current primary logo and a white cap with blue bill similar to their 1908 caps. I went with road pinstripes for their away set, but replaced the old "bear with bat" logo with their current "walking bear" alternate logo. CLEVELAND INDIANS: The Indians home set is a combination of two looks: their 1948 home unis and their late '80s "Major League"-era unis. As such, I'm thinking of making this uniform off-white to give it an old-timey look and to separate it from the Cubs home set. Their road set is loosely based on the Cleveland Cavaliers "Pride" uniforms, which the Cavs wore when they clinched the NBA Finals Championship this past June. I'm thinking of adding front numbers on the opposite side of the block "C," as well as eliminating the sleeve stripes to make it even truer to those Cavs jerseys. I left the road cap blank for now because I haven't yet decided how it should look. I'm leaning towards using Chief Wahoo, so that every cap in this series won't have a "C" on it. As controversial as Wahoo may be, the fact remains that he's been a big part of the Indians identity for the last half century. Any suggestions for the cap would be great. As always, C&C appreciated!
  6. I'm a big Indians fan and bought one of the official World Series patches to have attached to my Francisco Lindor jersey. Unlike most patches I get, however, this one is rubber/plastic and the embroidery shop I usually go to to get my patches sewn on/applied, said there wasn't anything they could do. I peeled the plastic backing off of it and there's not enough adhesive to apply to the jersey. Does anybody have any advice for how to apply the patch? I was thinking that maybe I'd use fabric glue, but am worried about it leaving a mess and ruining the jersey.
  7. MLB Tweaks (Final Logos)

Hey everyone, For a while I've enjoyed to think about what kind of changes I would make to uniforms across MLB, just being into design as I am. I've always wanted to make a thread of my own here after seeing so many great ones, but never thought I had the computer skills, nor did I really think hand-drawns would show up great online. After my Twins concept though, I got to thinking and decided to at least try to flesh it out into an entire MLB-wide series. Things are probably gonna slow down quite a bit from me once school starts back up, but at least this is worth starting. This series is just gonna be my fixes to things across each of the uniforms, I'm gonna save major redesigns for maybe a future series... So here it goes starting off, naturally, with the Arizona Diamondbacks: Logos -Brick red, Black, and Teal are now the main colors. It's a good time for Arizona to move on to a more modern scheme. -The teal has been adjusted a bit, it's a little greener to look more like a color inspired by Native Navajo jewelry rather than Tron electric blue. -Caps are both the A logo, just because I'm personally not a fan of the D snake. -Both caps have the diamond snakeskin pattern on the brim to still achieve the two-tone look. -Sand-ish colors are still present in the identity, as the home is now cream, and the away is full-on the sand color. Uniforms -I like the way the 'D-backs' wordmark looks, besides the fact that it says 'D-backs'. I had to compromise and put the 'A' on the home. -The diamond pattern is on the back of all jerseys, which makes sense for a team named the Diamondbacks. -No pattern on the pants. It isn't really necessary. -I decided to keep the cut piping, but cut it at an angle on the jerseys, like the pants. The colors are also now teal/red/teal on the jerseys because I feel that looks more Arizona and less Tron. -As said before, the away is now sand. I didn't hate the concept of dark gray, just didn't think it fit the team, especially with teal. -Snake patch is on all jerseys. -Both alternates can be home and road. -Some may not like this, but all accessory elements are interchangeable. Things like hats, belts, and socks can be worn in different combinations with different jerseys. So, of course, let me know what you all think! All comments/criticisms welcome!
  8. So, now that I got the Miami Marlins off my chest, I figured I should tweak the other teams that have been bothering me too. Nothing bothered me as much as the Marlins, but it doesn't take much to aggravate me...sadly. The next team I wanted to put a paint brush to was San Diego. Like most, I feel they should be going back to the brown and yellow colors. I on the other hand want to put more emphasis on the brown and keep the yellow to a minimum. I have no issue with their current word scripts and uniform style, I just feel the brown and yellow would look better. So with that in mind, here is my version of the Padres. The away has a grey that has very slight orange tint to it, just to give it some warmth with the brown and yellow. Then there is the Home alternate. The big trend of having the logo over the heart/left side is not missed on the Padres. I'm currently working on a brown top alternate for the road as well as a new main logo that will combine a few era's logos with the swinging friar as the center piece. How does that look? C+C appreciated.
  9. Cleveland Indians Logo/Uniform Concept

The Indians, have been a team surrounded by controversy involving their iconic Chief Wahoo logo which has since been demoted to a secondary logo back in 2014 in favor of the very bland and unpopular Block C logo which adorns the road and alternate home caps. I've been a lifelong Tribe fan and I have always loved the Chief logo and I tend to use the hashtag #KeepTheChief on twitter at times but in honesty, the Tribe needs a new primary logo and that is the first thing you'll see in this series ranging from a rebranded logo to a new uniform design. (No I'm not going the route of the D-Backs if you're curious.) But with my concept logo, It will give the Tribe a logo that I'm sure both Pro Wahoo and Anti Wahoo fans can cope with so here it is below: Primary Logo: The logo is in a roundel form with red white and blue are represented that will be represented on the uniforms. In the roundel, the ball club's wordmark logo is used with a baseball seems in the background to add a little something to an already blank background.Baseball Club, the year the team was established and the years the Tribe won the World Series with the World Series trophy above are represented with additional years to be added if future titles are won.The logo would be used as a primary logo seen across Progressive (Jacobs) Field, team wear, team items and the Indians on deck circle. There are a few tweaks that I may need to make like for example, one of the seems overlapping I would need to fix at a later date, but overall I like how the logo turned out to be clean and classy and not as busy as my Cavs concept logo. Let me know what you think and would like to hear some feedback on possible improvements as I go on.
  10. Updating the Cleveland Indians Uniforms V.3

After seeing the replies on v.2 of this concept, I made a few tweaks and eliminated the extra grey and blue jerseys and which cut the alternates to three alternate jerseys. Anyways I'll break down the changes to each. What do you think and feel free to comment your thoughts. Home Uniform: The home set from the first concept has remained unchanged and is heavily modeled infact a clone of the home uniforms worn from 1994-2001. Away Uniform: The away uniform is unchanged from v.2 concept except the hat went through a tweak by changing the block C from red to white with a red outline. Alternate 1: The alternate 1 uniform is left unchanged from the v.2 concept and is based off of the 1998-1999 alternate blue jersey. At home it is paired with the primary home cap with Chief Wahoo on it, on the road it is paired with the all navy Chief Wahoo cap. Alternate 2: The alternate 2 uniform is red as a homage to the 97 AL All-Star jerseys but the Indians script is changed to Cleveland in white lettering with a blue trim. At home the uniform is paired with an all red cap with a white block C with navy trim. On the road the alternate is paired with the primary road cap. Alternate 3: The alternate 3 uniform is the Saturday/Sunday afternoon home alternate and is almost the same as the current weekend uniform except the navy piping is added with Indians script being changed from red with navy trim to navy with red trim paired with matching pants with red socks, belt, and cleats. BP Home: The BP home is left unchanged except on the cap the block C is navy with white trim. BP Away: The BP away is also left unchanged except the cap is navy with a white front with a red block C trimmed in navy similar to the 2014 All-Star game cap worn by Michael Brantley. Again tell me what you think and I hope you guys like them. Regardless this is an improvement over the current set. Here is v.2 concept if you want to see the changes. http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/103616-updating-the-cleveland-indians-uniforms-v2/#entry2442272

  12. Updating the Cleveland Indians Uniforms V.2

How's it going everyone, Happy Memorial Day! Last week I made a concept updating the current Cleveland Indians uniforms by tweaking a few things and I wasn't really satisfied, so I started updating everything on a new template that is used on the team's wikipedia page. I'll give a hat to cleats description and explain each uniform with a few notes to point out as well. Also to point out, the patch on the right sleeve is the Al Rosen #7 memorial patch the team is wearing for this season. Home Uniform: Hat: Blue hat with the chief wahoo logo and red bill Undershirt: Red undershirt Jersey: White jersey with red piping, Indians going across with red lettering and a blue trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: White pants with red and blue piping down the side with a red belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and red cleats Notes: Heavily favors the design of the uniforms worn from 1994-2001. Worn for Sunday night games instead of Sunday alternate. Away Uniform: Hat: All blue hat with block C logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Grey jersey with blue piping, Cleveland going across with blue lettering and a red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: Grey pants with blue and red piping down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats:Blue socks and black cleats Notes: No changes made to the entire uniform except the addition of the blue piping going down the jersey and the red stripe going down the side of the pants next to the blue stripe. Alternate 1 Home Uniform: Hat: blue hat with red bill and block C logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Cream jersey with blue piping, Indians going across in blue lettering and a red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: Cream pants with blue and red piping down the side with a red belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and Red cleats Notes: Only worn for Saturday and Sunday afternoon home games. Combines the 80's/90's uni's with an old school cream colored uniform. Alternate Away Uniform 1: Hat: All blue hat with Chief Wahoo logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Grey jersey with blue piping, Indians going across with red lettering and a blue trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: Grey pants with blue and red piping down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats: Blue socks and black cleats Notes: Worn for select away games. Heavily favors the design of the away uniforms worn from 1994-2001 except script Cleveland is replaced by script Indians. Alternate Home Uniform 2: Hat: Blue hat with red bill with Chief Wahoo logo Undershirt: Red undershirt Jersey: Blue jersey with red piping, Indians going across with red lettering and a white trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: White pants with red and blue piping down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and red cleats Notes: Worn on select weekday night games. Heavily favors the design of the alternate blue uniforms worn from 1998-1999 except script Cleveland is replaced by script Indians. Alternate Away Uniform 2: Hat: All blue hat with Block C logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Blue jersey with red piping, Cleveland going across in white lettering and a red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: Grey pants with blue and red piping down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats: Blue socks and black cleats Notes: Worn on select away games The jersey is modeled after the blue alternate worn from 1998-1999 except Cleveland is in block lettering. Alternate Home Uniform 3: Hat: Blue hat with red bill with Chief Wahoo logo Undershirt: Red undershirt Jersey: Red jersey with blue piping, Indians going across in white lettering and a blue trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: White pants with red and blue piping down the side with a red belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and red cleats Notes: Worn on Friday night home games and all Saturday night home games. Based off of 1997 All-Star Game HR Derby jerseys and plays homage to the red jerseys worn during the crooked C era. BP Home/Spring Training Home Uniform: Hat: Red hat with blue bill with block C logo Undershirt: Red undershirt Jersey: Blue Spring Training Jersey with red stripe down the sides, Indians going across in white lettering and red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve. Pants/Belt: White pants with red and blue piping down the side with a red belt Socks/Cleats: Red socks and red cleats Notes: Socks, cleats, and belt changes to blue during Spring Training. BP Away/Spring Training Away Uniform: Hat: Red hat with blue bill with block C logo Undershirt: Blue undershirt Jersey: Blue Spring Training Jersey with red stripe down the sides, Indians going across in white lettering and red trim, Chief Wahoo on the left sleeve Pants/Belt: Grey pants with blue and red stripe down the side with a blue belt Socks/Cleats: Blue socks and black cleats What do you think of this concept? I honestly as a fan, this set looks 10x better than the current sets the Tribe wears now and have always been a fan of the red dominating the home uniform as dominant blue has been an overkill with every team. Tell me what do you honestly think? Let me know.
  13. I thought of updating the current Indians uniforms to reflect on combining the glory days of the mid 90's with the present with this home and away set and not to mention this is my 1st ever concept tbh and I'll go through the changes, So tell me what you think? I'll add the alternates at a later date First the home uniform: Hat: Remains the same Jersey: All the blue piping around the neck and sleeves have been changed from blue to red, the script remains unchanged. Undershirt: Undershirt's would be red to match the red scheme of the uniform. Pants/Belt: The pants would be worn with a red belt and added the red/blue stripe down the pant legs similar to the mid 90's uniform. Socks/Shoes: Socks and shoes will be red to go with the red scheme of the uniform. Away Uniform: Hat: Remains unchanged Jersey: Remains unchanged Undershirt: Remains unchanged Pants/Belt: Belt remains blue. a red stripe is added next to the blue stripe down the pant leg to match the home set and the classic mid 90's era pants. Socks/Shoes: Remain unchanged. Alternate Weekend Home: Hat: The hat goes from all red to blue with red bill with the block C logo outlined in white Jersey: Remains unchanged Undershirt: Remains unchanged Pants/Belt: belt remains unchanged, the pant stripe goes from blue to red Socks/Cleats: Remains unchanged
  14. Cleveland Indians concept

This is my concept of what i think the Cleveland Indians should look like. There current sets are awful and boring so i combined some of Cleveland's best era's together and modernized it to come up with this. Hope you enjoy! logos: sportslogos.net Template: boards.sportslogos.net Fonts: boards
  15. I'll admit, I was stuck on this one for a while...but here goes the Ohio duo, starting with the red legged. The home set...I'd mentioned a few sets ago that I'd be dipping into my TATC roots...and like that guy who don't like mens no more, I...HAVE...DELIVERED. Figured I'd give em red pants, as a nod to the uniform the Reds wore when they hosted the big leagues' first night game. The main highlight, of course, is Mr. Redlegs wearing a jersey...of himself wearing a jersey...of himself wearing a jersey. The road set, meanwhile, is another one that took inspiration from basketball, the Jerry Lucas-Oscar Robertson era Cincinnati Royals to be specific (before the home set I'd decided on, I was considering a Bob Huggins era Cincinnati hoops-inspired set) Going forward without Chief Wahoo was what held this set up...I finally put together a feather C I was satisfied enough with to trot out. Much as I like Chief Wahoo...and loathe the block C...I figured this would be a good opportunity to test out an attempt at the best of both worlds, thus this feather C that's on the caps and left sleeves. Another basketball-inspired set here, in this case the 70s Cavs. Brought the old Cleveland script back...and for anyone who wants to harp about the cap C not matching the script's C, when the hell has the Cubs' C ever matched any of their Chicago scripts? Or the Reds' C for that matter? A small note, I'd considered using tan in this set...but then remembered the Twins adding gold. Damn you Twins.
  16. MLB Alternate Batting Helmets

In the big leagues, many teams have alternate or away caps, but don't have a batting helmet to match it, making for inconsistent headgear. I decided to make batting helmets concepts based off these hats. The template didn't really turn out the way I wanted it to, but the helmets don't look bad. My favorite concept is the orange Marlins helmet. Since these concepts aren't anything new, I'll put them all in a few posts. C & C would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first time doing anything other than hockey jerseys. Thanks!
  17. Cleveland Indians Concept (Chief Wahoo Free)

Here is a new concept; this time, I'm going to take my crack at fixing what is presently a very inconsistent Cleveland Indians Identity. I therefore decided to center the new package around two things: A new wishbone C....and the feather (or two as you will see). My primary motive is to take the feathered C and make it the new central identifier for the Indians franchise, much like the tomahawk is for the Braves. The primary logo is a wishbone C that is based off of the cap the Tribe wore throughout the 70's. Attached to the C from the top and falling toward the right are two feathers. Below it is the text script "Cleveland Indians" arched. Logo: Cap: Alternate Cap: The Alternate cap will be used with the 1948 Inspired Home Alternate uniforms, which does indeed use the Indians cursive script on Cream. Home Script: The script is inspired by both the current Alternate script and the Serif'd Indians scripts the team used throughout the 80's into the 90's. Uniforms: I felt that using a navy belt with what already is a lot of navy would be redundant, so I switched it up a tiny bit and decided to use a red belt. I like the way it looks. Hope you enjoy this.
  18. http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/2013/12/27/spokane-indians-take-historic-step-logo-salish-language-152874 Team logo (in Salish language): Team logo (in English):
  19. Been a lurker for a bit here; great stuff all around. As a Cleveland fan, I'd like to see the team move farther and farther from Chief Wahoo. The problem is the Block C alternative is a bit meh. I've tried my hand at a few newer iterations trying to combine an uppercase C with the contours/features of chief wahoo. This first is an attempt at combining the 1920's Indians C with the Chief: The notch comes from the 1920's logo but mirrors the curvature and placement of Chief Wahoo's cheeks. Same for the serif at the tail of the C. Take 2 tried to work with the team's current Block C: It's pretty much the same, only with the 1920's notch (again placed with respects to Chief Wahoo's face) and the top serif echoing the Chief's feather. My final go scraps any previous template and aims to create an Old-English styled C, again using "feathered" serifs and the 1920s/Wahoo hybrid Notch. This also includes an "le" inside the C to disambiguate Cleveland from the Bevy of other C teams: I think I prefer the last iteration; any other opinions? I have the .xcf source files for each if anyone wishes to poke around with them.
  20. MLB Cap Concepts

Didn't want to continue to derail the thread in the main section, but this was my initial concept I mocked up in a few minutes: Anyway, I made a few quick updates to the design when I had a chance and so I thought I'd post it up here for you all to see. It's not where I want it yet, so please be gentle.
