  1. The NY Times had a great story recently about how Mike Piazza bought a lower-level Italian soccer club named AC Reggiana. I made this goofy new logo for his team with the thought that they should take advantage of having such a charismatic owner. Let that flowing mullet and manly mustache be a beacon! On a design note, this was my first attempt at drawing digitally in Photoshop and trying to achieve a watercolor effect.
  2. In these late weeks I've been working on a new concept for a football team based in my home city, Torino, in Italy. While working I've decided to start a concept about the whole Italian Football League. There will be renaming of teams and expansion of the league. I will be working on the teams but not on the overall league identity, also if a new logo is needed, as, maybe, it could be work for another moment. Just to compare, I will post how the league is now and how it should be in my opinion. The teams in order from the left are: Milano Seamen Bolzano Giants Bergamo Lions Milano Rhinos Giaguari (jaguars) Torino Parma Panthers Roma Grizzlies Aquile (eagles) Ferrara Ancona Dolphins Briganti (brigands) Napoli Bologna Warriors Lazio Marines So, I've expanded the league from the actual 12 members to 26 and I've changed the identity of almost every team (just the Elephants, Guelphs, Saints and Spartans are real existing teams, but not in the IFL). I've totally changed every name in English as it was a nonsense to have some in Italian and some others in English , of course keeping the italian city name. I've decided to skip also very nice uniforms, like Milano Rhinos ones, just because their identities were all wrong. To me a name has to make sense with the history and the tradition of a city, not just be cool. So it will be really important to explain you why I chose certain colors and logos. Critic will be very, very welcome!
  3. AC Milan - Crest refresh

Hey there, the Serie A, Italian major soccer league, started again last weekend and while watching some of the games I couldn't avoid to notice how AC Milan crest look outdated compared to some others (e.g. Juventus or Inter Milan) which have been updated in the recent past. It just feel a bit too corporate (in a bad way) and blocky (probably the last time it's been updated was during the '80s). I've decided to give it a try and put together a quick presentation, also highlighting some of the issues I tried to fix. As usual, feedbacks are really welcome. Cheers
  4. Serie A (take 2) by Wgeddes

So here is my second crack at designing the top italian league Serie A. I converted and tweaked my old Serie A designs using my new template (compliments of Raysox) I'll be posting quick, these are all ready done. First up is AC Milan. I know last time I got a lot of flack for not having an all white away kit, so I took my design that I had and converted it into an all white kit Home kit- classic black and red stripes, but with a little dark red stripes thrown in, with white shorts and black socks Away kit- classic white kit red accents and with black and red cross centered on the crest Third kit- all red with darker red accents and thin stripes
