  1. I've been trying to branch out into more sports than just hockey, such as soccer, and now football. Here is my first ever football uniform, made for the New York Jets. I tried to combine their past green with their current darker green to make a nice blend of past and present. Thoughts?
  2. I personally think that some of the extinct hockey teams looked the best. The Whalers, Nordiques, Rockies, Jets, etc. had some of my favorite hockey designs ever, and instead now we get to feast our eyes on the Hurricanes and Avalanche. Sad. So, This is basically my attempt to rewrite history, if the new franchises continued the look of their formers, Starting out with the Whaler-Hurricanes. The whalers had one of the best logos in all of sports history, and awesome uniforms and color scheme to boot, which helps to make the Hurricanes design more unique. C&C appreciated, and although I have some more on tap, let me know what you'd like to see next! Thanks!
  3. So this is more of a curiosity question that I...thought would go here, but I'm not entirely sure. Feel free to move if it belongs somewhere else. In case you haven't already seen it, WSJ posted a video online a few years back detailing the process for changing MetLife Stadium from Giants to Jets. It's a fairly time consuming ordeal, taking roughly two full work days. In other words, not a process that can be completed overnight. So my question is...if in some alternate reality the Giants and Jets both hosted a playoff game on the same weekend, what do you think they would do in regards to stadium decor? Would they find some way to hurriedly change end zone panels inbetween the game, or would they just go with some kind of neutral color "New York" wordmark? I do know both teams hosted wild card games in the playoffs after the 1985 season, but I'm not having any luck finding pictures of what they did then...
  4. My main questions are: Do I ditch the light blue altogether? Should I keep the shoulders the way they are? Is the logo on the jersey too big?
  5. Back in the original themed days, I generally posted rather rudimentary headers, but they did their jobs of showing the college uniforms being used as a base. Having not bothered with one in the last post because I assume most people here know what Texas' uniforms look like, I realized it was also something of an accidental callback to the very first C2P post, which also lacked a header, which I introduced in the followup post. So for the second post of what is something of a reboot, I bring back the infographic, such that it is, and decided to make it a bit less rudimentary by channeling one of my favorite football card sets: 1990 NFL Pro Set. Quarterbacking. Not everybody's cut out for it. If all you needed was the ability to chuck it from LA to NY, Jeff George would somehow still be playing. If I didn't prefer to do these in fours, there'd be more, but anyway...in commemoration of those who couldn't live up to the hype... Beginning with THE wack QB of the 90s, the inimitable Ryan Leaf Some logos I've generally avoided due to either difficulty or awkwardness in potential switches. If you recall my Junior Seau tribute, I did a terrible job regarding USC and the Chargers. Turned out the answer was in the subtle approach, much like what I did in the Earl Campbell set. Washington State doesn't have a full-bodied cougar of the sort that would substitute for the lightning bolt...but they do have a script logo that worked just as well, simply giving it a crimson/gray outline while using a single outline for the bolt. Used the charger horse shield as a sleeve logo for the Bolts. The first of two USC guys, the dance machine known as Matt Leinart I've grown to hate the Cards' template, but that's not really here or there. A shame its true soulmate is Pitt's ugly rock panther and not the redbird it was intended to complement. Anyway, the unofficial catch phrase of College to Pro rears its head via the Cards uniform: These Things HappenTM Mr. Buttfumble himself, the Sanchize I've done a Jets-style USC before, but decided to put together a different mock-Jets oval for SC this time out. As the Jets don't have anything like SC's trojan head, I took the meat and potatoes out of the oval. Finally, the 2000s' wack QB, Jamarcus Russell Return of another C2P favorite, the mock Raider shield...and I may have slightly botched the arc on the Raiders side. And I didn't notice until now, but the Raiders wordmark partially vanished on me, so I'll be tweaking this one. Comments appreciated, requests not so much...I got a few themes in mind for the next C2P, one being the All-Name Team (guys like Earthwind Moreland, D'Brickashaw Ferguson), another being Techies (guys who went to Va Tech, La Tech, GT, Texas Tech, et al), another giving some love to kickers and punters, and then I have a few "Wrong Uniform" guys in mind (like Johnny U on the Bolts or LaDainian Tomlinson with the Jets). In actuality, I have a list of bad running backs I have in mind too, but I don't wanna do Wack Xs too soon after Wack QBs.
  6. This will be a series though it might take me a while to complete it. First up: my Chiefs. For KC I wanted to stay with tradition, but fix a few things that bug me as a fan. First I made all the striping consistent throughout. I also enlarged the Lamar Hunt memorial logo and added an arrowhead to the left hip of the pants. As you can see there are no tv numbers. I feel that these are unnecessary and won't use them at all in this series. The wordmark on the back is just the font that is used for the NOB. The red and white pants are exchangeable on the road uniform. Click on the image to view it larger. C&C is welcomed! Thanks for looking!
  7. I am glad to see the return of an old IHL and AHL foe. But, I dont really care for how they colored the moose. I looks flat and dull needs a little to make it jump out like the old logo did. I made new uniforms for home, road, alt. I liked Manitoba's jerseys they had pre-edge template. Also, I made a variant on the Jets number to have a Moose flair with the antlers incoperated into the Jets font. (I did not do the player name font with the antlers though.) I created a shoulder patch with an M and antlers to mimic the main logo. I am open to any and all criticisms on this whether they are positive or negative. The CCM player pants and CCM helmet templates are my creation also. I have thought of uploadign them to a file site just have not done it yet. Thank you for your time. I more than likely will make some corrections of my own also to the shoulder logo
  8. I'm stoked that my Jets are back in the playoffs and on Monday will be attending my first Whiteout in 22 years! It was enough to inspire me to make my first concept in a very very long time. A lot has changed since the whiteouts of the 80s and 90s. Unlike back then, most fans nowadays wear jerseys to the games. Trouble is, the Jets' current white jersey isn't quite white enough for my tastes - much too much blue. So I whipped up this Whiteout jersey concept. Obviously not for the team to wear on the ice - just for the fans. The jersey logo is from the team's many playoff ads which show it obscured by snowfall. I added snowfall to the silver striping too. C&C please!
  9. So this helmet would be a simiiar style to Floirida states helmets, with a jet on both sides. Thanks for looking and C&C welcome. Template credit to davidson.
  10. The Jets are in desperate need of a spark as a franchise. After 4 straight underwhelming seasons, it seems like they need a new identity. A new uniform is always a good place to start as far as that is concerned. To be fair, I love the current threads. But it may be time for a shakeup in NY. I gave the Jets the full Nike treatment, as would happen in reality. Their main colors are now kelly green and black, and their logo is a mash up of sorts of an old word-mark and the jet plane logo. Be advised that if I were designing them for a perfect world, I might have not gone to somewhat the route I went, but I wanted this to be a realistic "Nikeification" of the franchise I love dear. I hope you guys enjoy. BTW, I'm stuck on a number font to use, so the jerseys currently have no numbers. I would like some C+C to some ideas before I proceed. I don't know if I want to go full on complex with the numbers or keep it kind of simple. HOME: AWAY: ALTERNATE:
  11. Alright so this is my first post on this sight, I’ve been a fan of this sight for a while and I’ve just been amazed by the stuff I have seen people create from Logos from scratch to redesigning older logos and giving them a modern twist, to people totally redesigning a league. So a few weeks ago I decided to actually start making my own concept logos and uniforms for fun when I’m bored and there’s nothing to do, this may even help me out in the future but there still are a lot of things that I need some help on. So my first concept I wanted to do kinda backfired on me because there were a few things that I couldn’t find so I dropped it and I kinda gave up almost until a few days ago I decided to give it another shot but change it from baseball to a hockey concept because I thought it would be alittle easier to start off with, the team I had in mind creating a concept with was the Winnepeg Jets, now I live in Michigan so I’m a Red Wings fan but I thought about creating a Winnepeg Jets Alternate because they don’t have one. My inspiration for my uniform was there throwback 1979-90 road uniform and there 1991-96 road uniform I was leaning more for the 1979 look more because I looked more unique than the 1991 look. 1991-96 1979-90 And heres what I got so far But there’s a problem you see the striping on the bottom of the 1979 uniform I want to add that on the uniform as well and the striping on the elbow from the 1991 uniform but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. Please help because I would like to finish this and this will help me out greatly for future projects. And if your also wondering I'm using Photoshop CS5. *UPDATE* Thanks to all the help Ive gotten since I posted this I finally finished the uniform and it was really simple actually but thanks to the community I figured it out. Here it is!!! Now its nothing too over the top but this was a good starter to get my feet wet into this, if there's any improvements you think i should work on to make my work look better feel free but keep it positive since Im just getting started
  12. Hey guys, I'm currently working on an NFL project, and I'm stuck on the Jets. I know what i want to do with their jerseys, but i can't get over how much i dislike their current logo, so i decided to try and design one myself. This just took me around 30 minutes, and i want to ask you guys for some C&C. Please give some feedback, I definitely short-cut some things, and I'm gonna go through later and clean it up. But I just want you guys to give me a little feedback on the overall look of it, and maybe some ideas on how it could be better On white helmet with contrail - On white helmet without contrail - On Green background with contrail - On Green background without contrail - thanks again!
  13. Well, I think it's a pretty common thought on these boards that the Jets' jersey is a very bad fit for the latest templates, and has been for a while. I was just trying to think a little bit out of the box here... how to keep the basic feel of the classic, with the contrasting sleeves and all. I also wanted to dump that drab green. The logo incorporates the original cartoony jet logo, and the jersey wordmark is from the 70s/80s helmet. Anyway, let me know what you think.
  14. There are very few uniforms in the NFL that I can actually say I disapprove of. However, there are a few teams that I think need to do something a little different. So, I will not post full uniforms because some of these teams I post only need to add these helmets to their current uniforms in my perfect world. So without further babbling, I present the first helmet: I find nothing wrong with the current Jerseys and pants of the Jags, but I hate their ugly mediocre helmet. When they wore the helmets last year that changed from black to teal in the light, I was happy as could be. I love those helmets, so I thought I would create a design for one that turns to a brighter teal when in the light but it features their new logo. Simple but a great design.
  15. *welp* It's been a while since I've done a concept here! I think it's fair to say a lot of people would love to see an alternate for the Winnipeg Jets. I know as a Jets fan that I would at least. Of course a lot of people when thinking of what an alternate could look like, commonly refer to either an old Jets uniform from the '79 - '96 NHL team or the '72 - '79 WHA team. Also a baby blue uniform is a popular idea as well. When sitting down and sketching logos one time, I referred back to the primary logo the team had at first. It was never put on any uniform from my knowledge and is a fairly solid logo. So with a few tweaks, modernization and a few touches of my own that reflect of the current team and a bit of the past, here's what I came up with... I wanted to do a red jersey really badly as I always see all the shades of blue and white used commonly. I also wanted to keep the colours very simple and clean. Most notably I have an all 'baby blue' crest which some might find odd but I felt was appropriate in attempting that faux-vintage look which was of course my goal here. The logo is of course an update of the first logo that the WHA Winnipeg Jets franchise used. I tried cleaning up a lot of the more dated or messier elements of the logo and felt successful with the result. The white outline is rather thick but I felt helped make the logo pop much better and would also be balanced with the striping on the uniform. Though some might find it odd, I felt the use of 'Midnight Blue' was the best choice for the rest of the blue used in the uniform as it wouldn't really overtake the amount of 'Baby Blue' used. Would love to hear what you guys have to say of course. Thanks for viewing and any C&C is appreciated.
  16. Was just sketching and came up with a basic jet and its been refined a few times, so this is where I'm at with it. Thoughts?
  17. The idea behind this concept is pretty simple, it's just a simple rework of the current Jets shoulder stripes. This is basically a combination of the recently released UNC uniforms and the new Ole Miss and LSU shoulder stripe technology. It's something that I think would be possible based on what we've seen done so far, but it would be great to hear from someone with a greater understanding of the current Nike uniform cuts.
  18. ***FINISHED*** New York Jets New England Patriots Denver Broncos Notre Dame Fighting Irish Alabama Crimson Tide Los Angeles Raiders St. Louis Rams Found these old concepts when looking through my computer, might come back to this project. Sure was fun. Any thoughts? Jets Patriots Broncos
  19. My first post on here: A New York Jets logo I created a couple years ago, tell me what you guys think. Sorry for the bad quality, I only know how to use paint so far.
