  1. I need help... This is not my design. A high school is wanting to use this and I was asked to vet it for authenticity not design. Question is, does this look too much like any other logos out there. I cannot say that it does but I want to be sure. The high school had students submit designs and this one was voted on to be the winner. Not the best way to do this in my opinion but...
  2. GRIZZLY BEAR HEAD LOGO - Just for practice, decided to try my hand and a grizzly logo! - Traced an image from online, no hand drawn steps, as that hadn't helped me out with a falcon I decided to simply trace it in illustrator instead. - Eyes and Nose aren't to my liking but cant seem to find a better way to portray them both. - Teeth may look to "sharp" or Cartoony? But help the fierceness IMO. C&C Much Appreciated/Needed Inspiration Image:
  3. Sorry if this should be in the General Design section, but I didn't want to keep flooding it with concepts. Feel free to move this if you want. Here is the current logo for the Denver Art Museum. Bland, generic, and uninspired imo. Here are my redesigns, using a unique font, and with a logo playing off the building's one-of-a-kind architecture. Simple and modern are what I was going for. What do you think?
  4. Looking for some C&C on an old school style diver logo I made recently for a fictional minor league baseball team the Oahu Divers. Any feedback appreciated, thanks!
  5. So I was originally going to abstain from posting this, but I could really have another set of eyes look at it. - Drew Inspiration from mountains clearly - To Be used as watermark on my photographs and work design. - Uses my initials, HK. Lemme know what you think!
  6. Inspired by the chaos and fights in this thread, I decided to update the Colorado Avalanche's logo. Here it is below. It isn't a whole lot better than their current logo, but I tried to go off of what everybody in the thread said. Make the 'A' smaller and not-curved, and turn the oval into a circle. Only thing I did on my own was brighten the burgundy. I threw it together quickly and I don't like it that much, but I figured it'd be worth it to post. What do you think?
  7. Hey Guys! So I know there are a lot of logos similar to this one. I designed this logo for a in-line hockey team. It's a train. It has colors. Hope you like this one! C&C Welcome!
  8. This apparently happened last year but I just stumbled upon it today. The 2015 ACC Women's Basketball Tournament in Greensboro logo looks extremely similar to a logo of my own that I created two years ago (one year prior to the 2015 ACC tournaments) for a former assistant coach at St. Joe's who was planning to start his own youth basketball camp called "School of Hoops". I'm not surprised anymore to see work stolen/plagiarized from me or other honest designers out there, since this is definitely not the first time this has happened to me, but the reason this feels different is that I am kind of surprised that one of the largest conferences in the country would be stooped by whoever they contracted to design this. I know the SEC goes to the big guys like Joe Bosack or TJ Harley for their tournament logos which would more or less guarantee the authenticity of each logo created. The composition of the logos is really nothing unique or groundbreaking. I can't claim ownership to the idea of words arched/over under a ball of some kind and a shield since there are probably plenty of other logos out there with similar traits and we are all inspired by what's been done even if it is subconsciously, but when looking at my logo side by side with the ACC logo, there is no doubt in my mind that the ACC logo is just an alteration of what I started since every bit of line work is identical. I overlapped the ACC logo on top of mine and it is identical. The identical highlighting and line work on the ball is what struck me the most. I don't really intend to pursue this since it'd just be a useless headache, but I was wondering if anyone had info on who the ACC hired to 'design' this particular 2015 women's tourney logo. I broke down the basic similarities in the image below. I saw the logo still in use on the ACC's website as well as in videos of the actual games. http://www.theacc.com/page/2015-womens-basketball-tournament-history https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_ACC_Women%27s_Basketball_Tournament
  9. My concept for an athlete log like Lebron, Chris Paul, RG3, etc... I think I have a good start, want to get some feedback on it. Put it in the Cardinals colors, cause well, we need him haha.
  10. Like most, due to Adidas' ownership of Reebok, I do not believe many drastic logo changes will come to the NHL logo-wise. I believe most teams will see either recolors or promotion of alternates to primaries, with only one or two teams receiving full on new logos. However, here are my ideas/suggestions regarding logo changes for both the Pacific Division and the Metropolitan division. PACIFIC DIVISION: LA Kings: I see the Kings keeping their current color scheme but this is a mixed concept that I made. It involves a mix of their rarely seen stadium series logo and the old crown from the franchise's inception, rather than the dated and complex current crown. This could work as either an alternate or (preferably) a primary. San Jose Sharks: I see the shark's new alternate logo for 2016-17 ready to take over the current sharks logo. This and the Panthers logo were the only all-new non-anniversary logos introduced this year, so I see it promoted to the primary. It is an improvement over the previous logo. Anaheim Ducks: This is the logo change I and most really want to see: the duck mask must return. Strip it straight from the already used alternate and promote it to a primary and demote the "D" logo down to an alternate. Edmonton Oilers: This logo is either staying the same or, in my opinion, getting a minor recolor to give it more of the classic look. Vegas Golden Knights: This logo was unveiled earlier this year. I'm not much of a fan, but it is what it is. Calgary Flames: Black will be removed from the team's color scheme entirely, reverting its colors back to the much preferred older color scheme. Vancouver Canucks: I think either the orca logo stays or, preferably, the classic canucks hockey stick "C" makes its way as a primary. Arizona Coyotes: No changes. METROPOLITAN DIVISION: New Jersey Devils: Although a new logo is rumored for the Devils, I don't see their classic NJ icon leaving anytime soon. If anything, I see their colors being reverted back to red and green to differentiate itself from the many bland red and black teams out there. If they do choose to go with a redesign, I hope it at least keeps the spirit of this logo. New York Rangers: No changes. Possibly the return of lady liberty? New York Islanders: No changes. However, the life that this logo has left with the Islanders scheduled to be arena-less in 2019 may be short... Pittsburgh Penguins: No changes. This recolor was perfect for the franchise and nothing needs to be added. Carolina Hurricanes: No changes, unfortunately. While the logo is bleh right now, the team has been dead last in attendance and I see relocation in sight. The team will not waste resources on a new logo if the team has no time left in North Carolina. Philadelphia Flyers: No changes. Very solid and classic logo with no need for change. Columbus Blue Jackets: I see their much acclaimed alternate logo taking the place of their much derided primary. This is a fantastic logo that better represents a primary logo than their primary logo. Washington Capitals: I see their word mark logo falling into secondary territory, while their eagle logo gets a few minor tweaks to color and design and gets promoted to the primary. The logo is amazing and its wanted. Do you agree? Will add the Atlantic and Central Conference soon...
  11. Here we go again..... It's been awhile since I dabbled with the Thunder's look. I'm starting off slow this time with a concept board. It shows several different configurations of bison/cloud looks. The key ideas/thoughts/buzz words here are; power - maleficent - foreboding. Let me know what you think.
  12. Hi All, My name is Brandon Johnson, otherwise known as hawkfan13 on here and I have decided to take up the challenge of redesigning all 32 team logos in the MLB. So far I have 2 done, the Brewers and the Dodgers. These are potential portfolio pieces for me so any advice and cc is appreciated. Thanks for looking Brewers- In my opinion, the logo they have now is getting stale, it has now been around for a year longer (16 years) then arguably their best logo the glove in the shape of a m and b, which would be used as a alternate logo. In this case I wanted to revise their current logo into a more modern sans serif version of it.
  13. Hi, We all know how awful the Browns are and, more specifically, how awful and bland their helmet logo has been. So, I decided to create a fun concept attempting to fix the Browns' identity once and for all. Integrating both Browns history (here) and the identity of Cleveland (here), I think this logo would be great. Hope you guys like it! Feel free to comment any suggestions or praise!
  14. I made a little concept for a rival high school of mine. they use the overused bulldog logo that almost every team named the bulldogs use. C&C wanted.
  15. I was watching Allen Iverson's 30 for 30 and saw his rival school's logo. I researched the Hampton crabbers and found out they still have the same logo. They also have problem with brand control, they use many logos that aren't connected. I attached my concept along with the logos they use. The crabs claw form an H. I feel like I need to change the eyes but don't know what i should do. C&C wanted.
  16. Sports has been a part of my life since the beginning. One of my biggest interests in design is sports identities. When I was young I was often drawing a team logo, colouring in a jersey or creating my own versions. In mid–2016 I took on a 70 day challenge for a project I was doing in school. I knew this would be tough to handle so I decided the make it more suitable to my interest. The goal of this challenge was to redesign an existing sports logo every day for 70 days. Each logo redesign involved preliminary research about the team/city, sketching out all my ideas on paper, executing a digital version through Illustrator. I ended up creating a booklet with small rationales for my thinking, design choices and overall thoughts on the project. Sportslogos.net was a place I went to every day to discover new teams to redesign.
  17. So to go along with my re brand proposal to my high school, I am making a Falcon logo which is our mascot. I have the general shape down to what I really like, but am struggling with all the little details. Included is the vectored shape, and the sketch of what I have so far! I could really use some advice on this.
  18. I'm making a concept redesign of the Willingboro High School Chimeras. I thought the mascot was very unique and would be challenging. i was kind of in the dark because there aren't many teams with this name. The current logo is very outdated and you can't really tell what the face is ( a chimera is a mythical animal made up of a lion, goat, and snake). I'm planning on doing a full body logo and other partial logos. Any tips and feed back wanted.
  19. I am trying to create a solid brand for my High School, Catalina Foothills to propose to the AD. I have emailed him, and he told me in person that it is on his radar for sure. So far I have gotten a basic idea which was hand drawn, and then I digitalized what would be the secondary mark which is the CF monogram. Down the line I hope to create a solid Falcon logo, as pur current one is very outdated! Colors: Royal, Silver, White, Black (sometimes). The black in the case looks much better for right now. (I may go a different route with the "font style" but for now this is it. Current Logo:
  20. I want to start this off by saying that IMO much of the Timberwolves current set looks good (but I am a fan of the team). I am of the group of people that thinks they should reach back and use a blue/green/silver color scheme. I also think that the current "angry wolf head" looks like a strange wolf/coyote/saluki mix. All of these thoughts will show through in my concept. There are things about this concept that may have been tried, in another way, before; but it seems like this is the first time they're all put together into one concept. So I give you the Power of the Pack:
  21. Hey guys, I've been seeing all of the new concepts for the LA Chargers logo on here and all around the internet and figured I'd give it a go. I tried to make the logo type match the word mark to keep the style consistent. Comments and feedback appreciated.
  22. James Madison University, an FCS team in Virginia, has refreshed their logos to flatten them out a bit. No major changes, but just some updates to bring them into 2017. Old: New: Old: New: They have also debuted some new wordmarks, in addition to the JMU logo released above:
