  1. Hello! long time lurker, semi-frequent poster. So this is my first real computer logo. Go easy on the "this line isn't perfectly parallel" or "this line isn't a perfect curve" but I'd like to hear all kinds of other C&C on this clippers rebrand I'm working on, good or bad. All I have is the primary logo but I'm planning on making secondary and tertiary logos, as well as a wordmark and some uniforms, but I wanted to make sure this logo is nailed before I continue to the rest. So this was done in Microsoft Paint, (yes, I know) but its the only program I know how to use, and I've tried inkscape but its a work in progress. I started with a drawing in a notebook, took a picture of it, traced it into paint and made it into the images you can see below. The colors of the team are to be the largest squares in the top corner, as in Powder Blue and Red, with Navy, Copper, and White secondary colors. I think the colors I picked below are the best for the logo itself, but if there is a suggestion please let me hear it! Enjoy and please leave all kinds of C&C!

    New LA Clippers logo (prototype)

As many (most?) of you know, the (vast) majority of people think the new/current Los Angeles Clippers logo sucks... and for good reason. But spontaneously - out of absolutely nowhere - I came up with a brilliant concept. If nobody has thought of this before, I might actually be surprised. (Maybe a little?) Well, check this one out! It's a prototype that exemplifies the best of minimalist design (which is the trend du jour), while incorporating elements that make way too much sense. And yes - the red and blue used here is EXACTLY the same as that used in the current and former Los Angeles Clippers logos. The logo looks like a boat, which is a stand-in for a Clipper ship - the Los Angeles Clippers, which were originally based in the naval city of San Diego (as the San Diego Clippers), borrows its nickname from the aforementioned seafaring vessel. The logo incorporates a stylized "LA" (which you can see here), and the bottom of the logo incorporates a part of a basketball, which is commonplace for NBA logos. (By my count, two-thirds of all NBA teams have this as part of their primary logo.) Not to brag, but I say that this idea is too good to ignore. If someone improves upon this design and it gets some serious press, I've done my job already. Thoughts? Disclaimer: This work, illustrated herein, is an entirely original concept by sj10689 (the original author of this thread); any other logos/designs which have already been created prior to the posting of this comment, that bear any (striking) similarity, or is (almost) exactly the same, constitutes a circumstance which is purely coincidental. Therefore, as sj10689 is verily the creator of this work, which was not in any way inspired by, nor copied from any other pre-existing works, sj10689 assumes full ownership of this property. P.S.: I go by "Adam_Halverson" outside the forums, on sportslogos.net. I reposted this concept on the Los Angeles Clippers primary logo page.

The next NBA season is just a few months away and it is sure to be a very exciting one. NBA Christmas Predictions 2015-2016

The leaked match-ups for Christmas in the NBA this upcoming season are looking to be some high octane fun come this holiday season. So far, four of the likely five match-ups have been leaked leaving one match-up unknown. The NBA has already leaked the new Christmas jerseys for every team so it is with those that I have created my prediction on how Christmas day should go down in the NBA. I understand the any predictions made right now are not really worth much seeing that anything can happen between now and December, but these are just how I feel that these match-ups would go down should all teams be healthy. It is also worth noting that I used the TV schedules from last season for this prediction. So, here it is. That's a lot to take in at one time so let me break down each match-up. (NOTE) The scores are really just playing the role of place-holders. The important thing is who wins and who loses and whether it was a close game. GAME 1: 12 pm. EST New Orleans Pelicans @ Miami Heat : This match-up is cool because it features two teams that are on the rise. New Orleans now with a premier coach and a perennial superstar in Anthony Davis and Miami with a brand new roster trying once more to be great following the unfortunate departure of LeBron James. The game will likely feature some intense moments and a close battle but I predict that a star performance from Anthony Davis will cause the Pelicans to upset the Heat in the first Christmas game of 2015. GAME 2: 2:30 pm. EST Atlanta Hawks @ San Antonio Spurs : This was the only slot that has not been leaked yet so I offered my prediction for what two teams would fill the slot. I figured that the NBA would want to put together a match-up that would be off-the-chain exciting. So, why not a battle between Spurs-West and Spurs-East. That's right, the San Antonio Spurs would host the Atlanta Hawks. The Spurs, with the addition of LaMarcus Aldrige and David West look to be a team that could top the Western Conference and the Hawks look primed to make a shot at coming out of the East. It would also be a chance for Tiago Splitter to play against his old team, but that's not really going to sell out a crowd. Now for the prediction of how the game would go. The game would likely be close at first but the amount of talent on the Spurs should eventually best the Hawks and lead to a clear victory for the San Antonio Spurs. GAME 3: 5 pm. EST Chicago Bulls @ Oklahoma City Thunder : Here is a match-up that is sure to capture an audience. Two teams with injured superstars who are making the run at redemption this season with Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant. If both teams are healthy, it is bound to be an epic battle between two playoff bound teams. Kevin Durant (if he is healthy) may use the spotlight to show that he is not only back, but that he is back with a vengeance. That is why I predict that the Thunder will come out on top in this game. GAME 4: 8 pm. EST Los Angeles Clippers @ Los Angeles Lakers : The Lakers look to lose on Christmas for the third straight year. The Los Angeles Clippers play at home on the road as they square up against the Los Angeles Lakers. This match-up is kind of a disappointment as I would rather have seen a Clippers-Spurs match-up, (the most likely match-up for this season's WCF) but a win on Christmas day is nice also. There's sure to be lobs galore as the new and improved Clippers team will find and exploit every hole in the defense of a rag-tag Lakers team and coast to a blow-out victory. Then again, the Lakers do have what may be a rookie sensation in D'Angelo Russel but we will just have to wait and see if he will be a factor in this game. GAME 5: 10:30 pm. EST Cleveland Cavaliers @ Golden State Warriors : Here is what everyone who will be watching on Christmas day will surely be waiting for. A Finals rematch between the Warriors and the Cavaliers will close out the festivities on Christmas day 2015. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love vs. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. I firmly believe that if both teams are perfectly healthy, that the Cavaliers will have NO trouble in beating the Golden State Warriors. One can use last year's Finals as proof of this claim. The Cavaliers were missing two stars in Kyrie and Love and still took the NBA champs to six games. That coupled with the fact that the Warriors lost one of the best offensive coaches in Alvin Gentry will contribute to a Cavaliers victory to close out Christmas day in the NBA. Well, that concludes my predictions for Christmas in the NBA for this upcoming season. Thank you for viewing.
  5. I decided to take a shot at some of the expected uniform changes in the NBA for the 2015-16 season. First up is the Hawks... I decided to run with the red/volt/charcoal color scheme that's been reported. The uniforms are sort of a mix of eras. I kept the current wordmarks and numbers, sans beveling. The unis feature the diagonal stripe/wordmark on the chest from the 80s, a straight stripe down the player's left side a la the early 90s set, and the updated Pacman logo on the right leg that was feature on both of the above. The left side of the shorts feature a vertically stacked "ATL", with "HAWKS" on the charcoal alternate, reminiscent of several different sets the Hawks wore. I tried out a full charcoal court, which has also been rumored. Not sure how I feel about it, so let me know what you think. And no, I will NOT do a volt uniform.

Los Angeles Clippers Nautical Concept (UPDATED)

Hello all, this is my first post on Sportslogos.net and I am very excited to finally be able to share my concepts with the people on this site. I look forward to any comments and constructive criticism. The following concept is one that I came up with for the Los Angeles Clippers who as we all know received a downright awful rebrand a few weeks ago. I feel that my design better represents the Clippers motif than the design that was actually chosen. My concept includes a primary logo and a secondary logo... As well as a set of uniforms including a home jersey... A pair of road jerseys... A Back in Blue Alternate... And Finally a newly designed Court. Thank you for viewing my work and I look forward to your thoughts.
