    Missouri football

Hadn't had any good concept ideas for a few months, largely because the time I'd normally use for them, I've instead focused on custom teams and boards for Techno Bowl (hell, I've actually gotten a game in ), but a couple days ago, I doodled something down that I thought could work for Missouri. A little bit later, here it is. Inspired by Faurot Field's diamond endzones, the helmet and pants feature diamonds in lieu of stripes. The sleeve numbers are also on a diamond, though early on, I decided against doing the same on the torso for obvious reasons. The diamond theme continues with the alts, though kicked up a notch in different ways. The alt helmet encases the tiger in a black diamond, and the dark alt uses an elongated diamond on the torso, with ghosted tigers on the sleeves. The light alternate, as you can see, would probably look more at home at the Kentucky Derby...or, now that I think about it, Murray State. It should go without saying, but people don't read posts anymore :p ...the alt helmet can be worn with either of the main jerseys and vice versa, the pants can be swapped, and rebates suck. Post, speak, and yell words.

    College Football Team Cougars concept

I made this a while back since I like looking at college football logos. I always wanted to make a good cougar logo. One that would say yeah we know tons of ways to show our ferocity. Cougars have the perfect size and agility to kill. I want to build a detailed website of this university I created for a school project. This is their sports team logo I created. The Southern Ohio University Cougars. I didn't copy any logos, but Houston cougars looks a bit similar. I made a lot of different changes to make it my own. Near the bottom of the state there are hills so I was thinking of cougars being in that area. I used a gold and navy although their 3rd color is brown. The third color helps separate from looking like PITT or Navy. I like to think of tension with being close to Marshall so I picked Huntington as the nearby town. I would make the school 20 minutes away on the Ohio side. An explanation say for the made up future Huntington is much bigger and needs a university to keep fostering growth. School Name: Southern Ohio University Nickname: SOU (not zou) Mascot: Cougars Colors: Dark Navy Blue, Gold-like, light Brown, White Location: 20 Minutes north of Huntington Division: I (when good) Conference: ACC(when able to compete lol) Rival: Marshall Tell me what you think. I am trying to design other logos for the school to add to my website I'm making.
  3. So with a new head ball coach and the recent excitement of landing the #1 recruit in the nation, a lot of media and social outlets have been talking about "bringing the Mizzou brand back to glory" and whatnot. I think this would be an excellent time to finally look into updating our plain-Jane uniforms a little. I actually don't mind the simplicity of the current sets. Personally, I think they would look better if they had some striping down the sides or something additional, but the clean look is not too shabby. I whipped up this quick mock-up of what I would really like to see. The biggest addition, of course, is a return to showing the big "M" on the word-mark. Our best sustained period of success was when the Norm Stewart-led teams of the 70s, 80s and early 90s wore uniforms with this key feature. I know it wasn't strictly a Missouri design standard (Michigan, of course, wore this similar style during their National Championship year in 1989), but I always attributed this design to Mizzou, even before I lived here and became an alumni and life-long fan. Keeping the current set and adjusting really just the front of the jerseys is a pretty simple change that would tip the hat towards our history a bit and still show in a fresh and unique design for today. Now, I'm not the greatest in Photoshop and these are just quick mock-ups a devised to convey this idea. So no need to rip me apart as I know they are a little rough and not the best artistically. I just wonder if there are any thoughts from fellow fans about what you'd like to see with updates for the uniform sets moving forward. M.I.Z.....
  4. I had fun whipping this up today. I made some changes to Oregon's new zombie duck logo. Let me know what you think.
  5. With the uniform craze over the last couple of years only continuing to grow more and more ridiculous, the SEC has prided itself (for the most part) in maintaining a rather traditional feel with their respected universities. I'd like to go even a step further and get these teams back to the root of their design. A lot of the changes were made with tradition in mind, adding elements that used to be commonplace for these institutions, while still at times allowing a pinch of the modern flare to remain. I'll go through each university in the SEC, some given a lot of change, others not so much, to get back to the basics and prove that less is more.

    Mizzou Alternate Helmet

Alright so I'm a huge Mizzou fan. And unlike some, i really like our current uniforms that were "rebranded" by Nike 2 years ago. I also love that Nike is rolling out some new bits and pieces for us. (different matte/metallic helmet combinations, a new chrome tiger sticker helmet, and a new anthracite jersey). But when we played in the SEC championship as the away team, i didn't like our look. I mean i didn't mind it, but i felt it could have been done better. So here i give you my concept for a "White-out" Mizzou Alternate Helmet: The Tiger and Facemask are not black, but a dark-grey/anthracite to match the sleeves of our white jerseys It would be worn when they wear their white pants. So with this look: I couldn't figure out how to make the helmets above white with Photoshop, so all could do is vectorize the helmet. If anyone would be willing to recolor/make the helmet above the new white one, it would be much appreciated. Thanks for looking, and C&C is much appreciated
