  1. So, now that I got the Miami Marlins off my chest, I figured I should tweak the other teams that have been bothering me too. Nothing bothered me as much as the Marlins, but it doesn't take much to aggravate me...sadly. The next team I wanted to put a paint brush to was San Diego. Like most, I feel they should be going back to the brown and yellow colors. I on the other hand want to put more emphasis on the brown and keep the yellow to a minimum. I have no issue with their current word scripts and uniform style, I just feel the brown and yellow would look better. So with that in mind, here is my version of the Padres. The away has a grey that has very slight orange tint to it, just to give it some warmth with the brown and yellow. Then there is the Home alternate. The big trend of having the logo over the heart/left side is not missed on the Padres. I'm currently working on a brown top alternate for the road as well as a new main logo that will combine a few era's logos with the swinging friar as the center piece. How does that look? C+C appreciated.
  2. Hello all! I've been pretty excited for the upcoming Olympics this Summer. I've always been a huge fan of the games, and also have always loved the branding behind each of the games (unpopular opinion, I actually really liked the London 2012 branding.....NO DON'T LEAVE THE THREAD COME BACK!) Coupled with that excitement, I've felt the need lately to really kickstart my portfolio and get a bunch of ideas cranked out, produced, and finished. That all married together and inspired me to take on this personal project. It can be described pretty simply, a few days ago I thought about a lot of North American cities and wondered, "many of these will probably never host an Olympics in the near future...but what if they did?" So with curiosity running crazy, I sketched out a bunch of ideas for quite a few cities (and resketched...and went back to the drawing board...y'all know the drill), and dreamed up what each city would be represented by if they were to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. Now I know Los Angeles is currently the city being supported by the USOC and that none of these other options are realistic now (or would have been to begin with anyways), so I kindly ask if y'all would please focus on the designs and concepts themselves, rather than the legitimacy of the cities' chances. I'm well aware that Omaha or Nashville among many others aren't all that likely, but will happily take C&C for their designs anyways! Also, I won't be taking requests for potential cities at the moment, so I kindly ask you please refrain from requesting as well. For now, the concepts I've developed or are in the process of developing are all North American cities, but I'm planning on expanding to cities all over the world in due time. But also keep an eye out for three or four famous fictional cities as well down the road....*cough*I'm a huge Parks and Rec fan*cough*Pawnee*cough* So enough about all that, how about some designs? We'll start off with two for now. First off, Jacksonville. Jacksonville was honestly one of the hardest ones to develop. I went through a few different directions - the Andrew Jackson statue, the Main St. Bridge, and some forms of abstract palm trees/hidden athlete imagery (think Nagano 1998) - before finally latching onto the Nautical theme. I just loved the simplicity that the spelled-out "JAX" had to offer, and felt it clicked best overall. I'm happy with how it turned out, especially considering how tough it was to develop, and am eager to hear your thoughts. And second, Winnipeg! The bison/flame idea came right off the bat during brainstorming, and couldn't help but run with it. I chose Blue Bombers-esque colors because for some reason, I feel like they're great "prarie colors" and provided a great contrast to the colors of the Olympic logo. One thing I would like some help with is some potential suggestions for adding a little more color, if y'all feel it's needed; I explored the idea of adding some light blue and orange to the navy and gold, but nothing I came up with looked all that great. If y'all know of a way that can work, I'd love to hear it, among all other suggestions as well of course! Thanks for viewing, and stay tuned for more as the days come!
  3. I chose not do any major overhauling with the primary home and road, just a few tweaks and additions to make the look more complete. The Collar The shape and design of the collar with it's sharp, plunging angle, mimicks that of the side panels and allows for a contrasting insert like such. The point of the design when paired with the sides is meant to draw focus to the team name in the center. The Collar (Home) To better tie into the rest of the uniform, the collar on the home uniform has been re-colored blue with a red insert Team Name The current arced city name is replaced by the arched style name found within the teams primary logo. Not only does the new shape allow for greater visibility of the city's name via taller lettering, the simple one color text, it's upper stripe and bright red Fleur de Lis, gives an added touch of 'New Orleans' since the removal of the teams secondary logo at the rear of the neck. Numbers The gold stroke around the numerals has been dropped also in favor of a single color text. This allows for continuity throughout the uniform from the city name, players name and number and secondary buckle logo Side Panels (Away) Both the inner and outter trim on the away uniforms have been altered to create a bolder look. Red replaces gold, while gold replaces the former blue stripe design and blue moves to an inner contrast color CITY PRIDE UNIFORM Although I think that this uniform will likely be a reincarnation of our previous Mardi Gras set, I wanted to do something different that acknowledges the city of New Orleans in a different way. The emphasis was placed on gold, lot's of gold, and the simplicity of our city flag when used as a side panel insert. Three of the teams secondary logos are able to be used without the design feeling overly saturated. The 'Fleur de Pelican' is used in place of the traditional Fleur de Lis found at the center of the city's flag. It's also placed at the hips of the shorts which gives way to arching gold pelican wings. The 'Crescent City Basketball' logo makes it's first uniform apperance in place of the standard 'NO/Basketball'. The customary flying pelican found normally on the bottoms of the shorts, is now placed at the base of a rounded collar that has been cross-colored to mimick a golden crescent. Contrasting white sleeves gives the t-shirt underneath apperance without taking away from the overall look of the uniform, and allowing for the boldnes of the other colors to come through. It's been a while since I posted on this forum. Thanks for taking a look and let me know what you think.
  4. I made a new jersey template on paint and wanted to test it out, and thought what better team to do than my Saints. It's just a few minor changes, and converting to the new jersey template Nike is dressing the college teams in. C&C please. Home Away Alternate Fauxback
  5. Hello again everyone. I've decided to revisit my expansion project and New Orleans Idea. Using a suggestion another user in my last attempt gave me I decided to go with the New Orleans Krewe. The logo I came up with was a jesters hat. The far left part of the hat is shape as a crescent for New Orleans nickname being the Crescent City. I also used home plates as the design for the crown of the hat and clearly baseballs for the bells. Since this is baseball I also wanted to add a Roundel logo in the set as an alt. I was going to due a Fluer-de-Bat idea but I didnt realize The New Orleans Zephyrs use one as their primary. Next is the Workmark. All the text is custom I believe I used impact bold as the font, then added the spikes on the side. Next are the home uniforms. I wanted to do I couple of options here. First is the standard home uniform. Next is the Home alt. and the last is a Fauxback using a pullover and "stretchy" pants with an "older" version of the hat logo which I will post further down in the post. And also the last jersey shown is the Batting practice for both home and away. The hats go in order along with the jersey. The next set is the Away jerseys. First is just the standard greys. The alt away jersey is my favorite in the set. I wanted to do a home version of it but since the blue was a more dominate color than the gold. I thought it would look better with the grey pants. there is not alt hat. C&C is appreciated. and lastly like I said here is the fauxback logo. It's a little rough but that was my intention.
  6. I've been doodling around in class lately for a concept logo for a fictional New Orleans-based expansion franchise in MLS. This is what I've come up with so far. The name I chose is Riverside New Orleans. I was reading about the history of soccer in the area and in the late 1800s-early 1900s (can't remember exact dates) there was a successful club called simply "Riverside," so I thought it was unique and sounded good so I went with it. The gold siding is based off of street markers on Canal St. The stripes of red and white come directly from the city flag. The shape of the crest is just an elongated hexagon. The French Football Federation's logo is in a normal hexagon, so I felt it would be a nice touch to add that shape (sort of) as a nod to the French influence in the city. C&C appreciated. Thanks.
  7. As I started in my last topic, http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/97434-mlb-expansion-carolina-hammerheads-jersey-updates/#entry2183189 I looked into the expansion of MLB baseball to bring it 32 teams in the league with my national league team the Carolina Hammerheads. Now after a few days of getting back at it, work can be a real B**** sometimes, I wanted to unveil my American League Team, The New Orleans Brass. I really find New Orleans could be a wonderful place to place for an MLB team and just thinking of what a beautiful ballpark they could have if they design one in the style of southern architecture and Bourbon street it would be a neat place to go see a game. Now with that being said I played more off of the color of brass than instruments so as you'll notice there are non in the logos/uniforms themselves. With the Uniforms obvious white for home and grey for black. But the alt can be worn at both and there is no specific cap the team would wear at home or away its what ever combo they would want to go out on the diamond in. And what would an NOLA team with a Fleur-de-lis in it. So as always please C&C and thank you. PLEASE CLICK THE IMAGE TO EXPAND IT, EASIER TO SEE OBVIOUSLY

  9. I got permission from Ben to render out his Crescent City Curse uni concept with the Pelicans logos and colors. I think its quite the fit. Also, i used the elements to make a court concept to go along with it... Thoughts?
