  1. NY Rangers Logo Revamp

Hey y'all, Decided to try and revamp the New York Rangers' classic logo. Currently, their logo set is a bit cluttered, taking on multiple fonts and styles mixed from both the 90s and the 40s-60s. Some quick descriptions: Color: Held constant from current logo set 1. Primary: Keeping the same general shield style as the current logo, although there are two major changes. The first change being a font shift back to an adjusted form of the 1940s-60s font that the Rangers used. The second change is the "Rangers" now reads step-style, rather than simply diagonally. 2. Lady Liberty Alternate Returns: Due to the seemingly universal demand for the return of the lady liberty alternate logo used until the late 2000s, I brought it back, adjusted and improved in multiple ways. The first change is the colors are updated to reflect the same colors in the scheme currently used. The second change is the new font, which same style as the one used in the primary. The third, although minor, is the adjusted shield, which now has rounded curves near the bottom, whereas the older version had sharp diagonal sides. The fourth change is the addition of the four stars, representing the four Stanley Cups the Rangers have won. 3. NY Pride Secondary/partial: Finally, I wanted a simpler logo that could effectively be used on alternate merchandise, rather than the more complex Lady Liberty. It involves the same font as the primary and alternate, featuring a silhouetted Rangers shield. It is in similar style to the Rangers proposed Winter Classic logo, while being a tad more modern. Lemme know what y'all think and if you have any suggestions, please tell me.
  2. New York Knicks Concept

So, if anyone knows me well, I do not mess around with NBA often. As far as tradition goes, I know the most popular teams but other teams I'm not so sure on. In this case, I'm pretty sure the Knicks have some foundation with a traditional look, no? Well, this goes what I believe to be in a very different direction the Knicks have ever gone to. To me, it's a mix of traditional design with modern design. Not sure if I should continue this concept further (full on primary, secondary marks, white jersey, court design). Depending on the responses I may continue this. Hopefully, there is something to build on. Let me know! Template found @Webpixum .com
  3. New York Jets Uniform

I've been trying to branch out into more sports than just hockey, such as soccer, and now football. Here is my first ever football uniform, made for the New York Jets. I tried to combine their past green with their current darker green to make a nice blend of past and present. Thoughts?
  4. New York Islanders Rebrand

Out of boredom, a need/want to do something, and a first-ever jersey swap, here is my New York Islanders rebrand. Feel free to rip into the actual jerseys, but be kind with the jersey swap - it's my first. What do you think?
  5. New York Classics Fictional Baseball Team

Here is a fictional baseball team concept for a team called the New York Classics. I am using Inkscape for the first time so I wanted to choose a name that I could make a simple logo for. The whole goal is simplicity while still having a good logo set. Please tell me what you think. Uniforms are to come.
  6. New York Logo

I had an idea for a logo and began playing around, and this is the product. I know it's not that good, but which looks better? Thanks!
  7. Six months after the unveiling of the new Maple Leafs uniform, I'm used to the mega-thick stripe on the hem, but I actually don't like the classic double stripes on the arms. A great logo like this needs a bold design to compliment it, so I decided to make my fix. The Arenas' 4-stripe barberpole adjusted to fit the thick hem stripe replaces the double stripe, while on the home the stripe is lowered to throwback to the Arenas and form a T with the new pants. The stripe is kept where it is on the away, so the negative white space on the hem connects with the pants. The pants themselves are simple. so to go with the stripe I just put the simple Arenas' T. To show the full uniform and the T on the pants, I used one of JCRGraphix's great templates. C&C Appreciated!
  8. Giants Away Jersey Concept

Oh look, another Giants jersey concept. What's new? No but seriously, here's my take on the Giants' road jersey.
  9. Can the Gordon's Fishstick's Era of Logos be saved? Well I started to work with the Fisherman updating the colors (Sea Blue replaces teal and silver leaves altogether) and then applied the color changes to the Lighthouse and decided that'd be a stronger primary (after rotating it to face up and down) Uniforms soon coming.
  10. Hello all! After a short break to refill my inspiration, and a failed attempt at creating a WCH 2016 redesign, I'm back with a new personal logo, and a new concept for the New York Islanders. First, some backstory. The Isles have a storied and long history, being formed in 1972 as a way for the NHL to keep the WHA out of New York. The team rose from being at the bottom of the standings to winning the Stanley Cup in less than 10 years, and won the trophy 4 times in a row, which is a feat that hasn't been accomplished in any major North American sports league since. The team's logo was rumored to have been designed by the owners' wives, then touched up by an official designer. The logo has a lot of meaning, with Long Island, a nod to the team's 4 Stanley Cups, 'NY' for New York, a hockey stick, and the team's name. The logo is a bit outdated, in my opinion. I went with a simplified version of the logo, that plays off of the Isles' current alternate logo. The uniforms are also somewhat designed off of the previous ones, but with a more modern and touched up feel. I added a shoulder yoke, and the "signature" Adidas armpit stripes. The alternate is the 2nd orange alternate the Islanders have worn, but the first with a traditional feel to it. The four blue stripes on the alternate call back to the team's 4th Stanley Cup. Let me know what you think!
  11. NY Giants Road Uniform Concept

So I'm a huge Giants fan, and I've never really been on board with their current road uniform. The thing about it that really bugs me is that blue is practically absent from the whole uniform, except for the helmet, which looks out of place because neither the jersey nor the pants have much blue on them at all. I don't understand why a team nicknamed "Big Blue" can have a home jersey that is all blue and a road jersey that has no blue on it whatsoever. So, I've made my own version of what I think the Giants should be wearing on the road. The concept mixes elements from their current road jersey, like the stripes on the sleeves, and from the one they wore from 2000 to 2004, like the blue collar and the red numbers w/ blue outline. As a fan, I believe this would be a big upgrade from what they are currently wearing. Let me know what you think.
  12. NY Islanders Black Alt

So, in my opinion, the new New York Islanders alternate jerseys aren't that bad. They're (Sadly) Brooklyn's team now, and they need to represent it. Alternate jerseys should also jump out of the box and be unique, which is what the new alternates are doing. The 'B' logo that's inside the arrow is on the sides of the pants, which is only visible on the full-body presentation. Regardless, I decided to see if I could 'Spice it up' a little, so here we go! I have one presentation with the jersey flat and another with it on a person. So yeah! Let me know what I could do to make it better, besides taking black out all together, below!
  13. Where to sit at MSG

Hi guys, My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to NYC and we'll be going to a few sports games. I've never been to an NBA game before and I'm looking for some advice as far as where to sit at MSG for a Knicks game. We want a decent view but don't want to break the bank (around $100-$120 USD would be ideal). I've been looking at seats in the 200 level but I have two concerns... From the pictures I've seen from these sections, there appears to be an overhang above the seats that seems like it would make the seats feel closed in and a little more removed from the atmosphere of the arena. Also, since I've never been to an NBA game, the 200 level seems like it might be too far away. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
  14. NY Red Bulls makeover

I know this is sort of breaking the unofficial rules here, but just curious how soccer fans feel about the NY red bulls current logo(I find it super corporate and some of my eurosnob friends cite it as a reason they dislike MLS, which makes me sad) and If they see this one, which isn't that much different, as an improvement. Sorry I've been posting a ton, just have a bunch of free time. Had to get rid of the RED BULL at the top, while still paying homage to red bull and obviously keeping the bulls on it. Replaced the soccer ball with a bright red apple, to represent the whole NY is red rhetoric they've been ramping up between them and NYCFC, and then added the year, because I think they've been around long enough to show it off at this point. Happy Friday folks
  15. The end. When you mourn something special that you'll want to relive someday...when you know you can ride off into the sunset, on your own terms, with no regrets...when you pour one...when one book closes for good, and another opens its blank pages. Who knows, maybe I'll look back and think this book was so good, I might wanna crack it open again. We're here, and so are the Dodgers... Dem Bums wore pinstripes off and on before the advent of the script...couldn't think of a cap so I just used the iconic one. The Giants roam the Polo Grounds one more time... The home set utilizes the blank fronts that were common before the 30s, while the all black roads are a tribute to early Giants manager John McGraw, who liked to put his nine in all black for World Series trips. And the damn Yankees... Pinstripe-free whites, a la the early 1910s, and pinstriped roads with a Yankees script a la their classic dugout jackets. And with that, I'm out of the park for now...
  16. Good evening everyone! Just a quick Mets concept for 2015. I like this black uniform as a Friday or Saturday alternate. Pretty much the same uniform they had worn in the early 2000's up until a few years ago. Enjoy!
  17. New York Mets Concept

I found a baseball template on these boards, so I threw together a Mets concept. It's a very easy template to use, I might add. The Mets have a nice look, but with a couple tweeks it could become one of the league's best. The home is pretty good, but cream doesn't make sense. The Mets have used 4 road wordmarks over their 52 year history. One is a match for a wordmark they used for a couple years (with the underline, ICYDK), one that is basically a recoloring of the Yankees road wordmark, the current one that matches the Red Sox wordmark font, and one that matches the current home wordmark, which is what I used. I also made the one and only cap orange-billed, but with the regular cap logo, and all unnecessary gray is removed. This is also my first baseball concept in Inkscape, so I'm not sure how well it came out, but I decided I would go ahead and come out with it. Enjoy!
  18. About a month ago or so, I'd posted a Cubs/White Sox rivalry set that was pretty well received, and I'd said I had a few other city and state rivalries in mind. I was initially considering going the flag route again, though decided against it, as things would've looked FAR more awkward than when I went that route with the Chicago clubs: the Mets already wear the colors of the NYC flag, and if I'd based anything on the Queens flag, then you're talking about replacing orange with yellow and red. And on the Yanks' side...the Bronx flag is blue and orange. Yeah...eh...um, no. Just no. So I took a couple approaches here...for the Mets, both uniforms are hybrid fauxbacks that prominently take inspiration from 1916, among other years. The home whites have a checkered pattern, a la the 1916 Dodgers, with the large N Y on the chest emblematic of the 1900s Giants, along with a contrasting placket with METS written on it diagonally, which was briefly worn by the Dodgers a few years before the checkered unis. Though I figure blue numbers would've shown up fine, I felt orange numbers would show up better. For the grays, I used the other bizarre NYC uniform choice of '16, the Giants' violet plaid, right down to a temporary color change to violet/black. Don't worry, it'd only be for two days The chief difference from '16 is a semi-intentional anachronism, the mid-80s New York script (I thought about using the 93-94 script, but I figure Mets fans would rather not ever see that one again) that serves as the Dodger nod. I might post an orange/blue version of the road later, but then I've kept the plaid violet before (on a version I'd posted years ago, modernized for the San Francisco era) and I very well might again. For the Yanks, like I said that one time I posted an alt-historical road alt for em, I think they could do vests justice, so both uniforms are sleeveless. The home uniform largely maintains the familiar look, but with a touch of championship gold. The cap NY is gold, the pinstripes are gold, and the jersey NY and numbers have a gold outline. The road grays are an obvious departure from the normal fare: a lot of folks hate pinstriped grays, but I figured it made at least a bit of sense...and a confession, originally I had a block YANKEES across the chest, as a nod to Murder's Row (the Yanks' grays read YANKEES for a few years in the late 20s before reverting to NEW YORK). The hat & bat script I went with...I know I ripped off the Braves in that regard, but damn if it don't look good. I know one thing, every now and then I give a brief thought to resurrecting something I did when I first stumbled upon the logo community: Turn Ahead the Clock...and then I realize I'll likely never need to truly revisit that era. Kinda like how even though almost nobody runs the pure Run & Shoot anymore, its concepts are everywhere. Just thinking in print, a little bit.
  19. As a Giants fan, I have only a few gripes with our uniform set: the lack of white, TV numbers not being on the sleeves for the home jersey, and the lack of a throwback. Credit for the templates goes to Darth Brooks and Davidson.
  20. There are very few uniforms in the NFL that I can actually say I disapprove of. However, there are a few teams that I think need to do something a little different. So, I will not post full uniforms because some of these teams I post only need to add these helmets to their current uniforms in my perfect world. So without further babbling, I present the first helmet: I find nothing wrong with the current Jerseys and pants of the Jags, but I hate their ugly mediocre helmet. When they wore the helmets last year that changed from black to teal in the light, I was happy as could be. I love those helmets, so I thought I would create a design for one that turns to a brighter teal when in the light but it features their new logo. Simple but a great design.
  21. Alright. WIth these I combined a few ideas I saw into one. Tell me what you think, specifically on the side art. I'm working on alternates now and I was wondering if the side art would look better on them or if it needs to be more simple altogether. S/O to Funkatron101 for the logo.
  22. NY Islanders Brooklyn Update

Heres my attempt at updating the Islanders for their move to the barclays center. They may be a storied franchise and tradition is very important but their logo is godawful. Full project available HERE. Logos Home Uni (Uni template basically unchanged) Away Uni Alt Uni Let me know what you think.
  23. I draw up this logo in my notebook when I was a sophomore in high school and i was really proud of it. Now i want to make it better i anyway possible. Give me some ideas on what should I improve.
  24. A Possible NY Jets Fix

The idea behind this concept is pretty simple, it's just a simple rework of the current Jets shoulder stripes. This is basically a combination of the recently released UNC uniforms and the new Ole Miss and LSU shoulder stripe technology. It's something that I think would be possible based on what we've seen done so far, but it would be great to hear from someone with a greater understanding of the current Nike uniform cuts.
