    XFL Team Nicknames

Putting together some design concepts for the new XFL and am trying to come up with names. Here is what I have so far. Let me know what you think or what your suggestion would be for the new team nicknames! 1. St. Louis Clydesdales (Clydes) - Home of AB Gunners (First STL football team in the 30s) Archers 2. Houston Barons (Oil Barons as a reference to the Houston Oilers) Voyagers Comets 4. LA Shooting Stars Waves Pacs (Pacifics) 5. New York Fivers (5 Burroughs) Empire Expatriates (Expats) Word that means immigrant, or not from here 6. Seattle Emeralds Steelheads SeaWolves - (Play against the SeaHawks) 7. Tampa Bay Explorers (Marco Polo) Firebolts (Word for lightning) Racers (Refer to speed boats) 8. Washington DC Gladiators - Rome Architecture Federals (Feds) Paladins - DC referred to as "Camelot"
  2. Players Weekend is coming in just a couple of days, and nicknames have been released. Some of my favorites are Yasiel Puig's "Wild Horse", Ender Inciarte's "Game Ender", Shohei Ohtani's "Showtime", and Hunter Pence's "Underpants" What are some of your favorites?

    Nicknames On Jerseys

My Favorite Nickname On a jersey is He Hate Me. I hate he and I hate he too are also pretty good.
  5. Just off the top of my head: Iowa State Cyclones: mascot is a cardinal bird New Orleans Saints: dog Cleveland Browns: an elf, then a dog Tennessee Titans: raccoon Kansas City Chiefs: wolf Auburn Tigers: war eagle Phoenix Suns: gorilla Alabama Crimson Tide: elephant Oakland Athletics: elephant Detroit Pistons: had a flaming horse head for a while but I don't know if you could call that a mascot And probably the most famous one of all: Philadelphia Phillies: The Philly Fanatic (has it ever been explained what kind of creature he is?) I'm sure there are plenty more. Which ones am I missing?
  6. I was wondering what people's thoughts were on the singular or non-plural team nicknames out there in the sports world- like, dislike, if they seem to fit in some cases but not others.

    NEW BASEBALL LEAGUE LOGO/TEAM HELP

So, I'm creating a New Baseball League for my personal use only. (Will start with 16 teams. 2 Conferences with equal divisions). Through gradual expansion, I'd eventually like to get to an MLB- like Structure in terms of the number of teams and division alignment (obviously I'll use my own divisions and conferences.) Here are the Locations and/or Names I have. Would love suggestions from all of you brilliant folks. And if you'd like to help by throwing out some logo ideas, that would most assuredly help your case in me selecting one of your ideas. North American Baseball League LEAGUE 1 (name TBD suggestions welcome ) Heartland Division: Wichita WARLORDS or WILDMEN Springfield STALLIONS or SWARM DAKOTA DRAGOONS or DESPERADOS OMAHA ______________ eventual expansion teams: Tulsa __________ Joplin__________ Dodge City MARSHALS or DEPUTIES Kansas City _______________ Rocky Mountain Division: Glenwood Springs(Colorado) ____________ BRECKENRIDGE BIGHORNS Wyoming WARRIORS MISSOULA ______________ eventual expansion teams: Las Vegas GAMBLERS or OUTLAWS Boise BUSTERS (like Bronc Busters) Taos (New Mexico) Toros Salt Lake City CONVERTS or ______________ League 2 (TBD suggestions welcome ) Appalachian Division: RICHMOND REBELS KNOXVILLE NIGHT TRAINS MORGANTOWN MOONSHINERS MYRTLE BEACH MANATEES eventual expansion teams: ATLANTA ASSAULT MEMPHIS MARAUDERS LOUISVILLE LYNX GATLINBURG GRAYS Metropolitan Division: BOSTON BRIGADE or BEANTOWNERS/BEANS (play on Beantown nickname) HAMILTON(Ontario) HUSKIES NEW BRUNSWICK NORTHERN LIGHTS NEWARK NOMADS eventual expansion teams: D.C. 8. The URL is going to have 2 Canadian teams in the league. Those two cities are Toronto & Vancouver. I was originally going to go with four Canadian teams: Toronto Vancouver Ottawa (If you'd like to still suggest for future considerations, go ahead!) Calgary (If you'd like to still suggest for future considerations, go ahead!) But, I decided to wait on Ottawa & Calgary for the moment. They could be alternates at some point down the line but I thought Toronto & Vancouver would be the more logical choices to go with for right now. Does anybody have any good nicknames for either city here? WESTERN CONFERENCE: Vancouver EASTERN CONFERENCE: Toronto
