  1. College Football Team Cougars concept

I made this a while back since I like looking at college football logos. I always wanted to make a good cougar logo. One that would say yeah we know tons of ways to show our ferocity. Cougars have the perfect size and agility to kill. I want to build a detailed website of this university I created for a school project. This is their sports team logo I created. The Southern Ohio University Cougars. I didn't copy any logos, but Houston cougars looks a bit similar. I made a lot of different changes to make it my own. Near the bottom of the state there are hills so I was thinking of cougars being in that area. I used a gold and navy although their 3rd color is brown. The third color helps separate from looking like PITT or Navy. I like to think of tension with being close to Marshall so I picked Huntington as the nearby town. I would make the school 20 minutes away on the Ohio side. An explanation say for the made up future Huntington is much bigger and needs a university to keep fostering growth. School Name: Southern Ohio University Nickname: SOU (not zou) Mascot: Cougars Colors: Dark Navy Blue, Gold-like, light Brown, White Location: 20 Minutes north of Huntington Division: I (when good) Conference: ACC(when able to compete lol) Rival: Marshall Tell me what you think. I am trying to design other logos for the school to add to my website I'm making.
  2. Nike NFL Jersey concepts

Hi all, I got bored one-day and decided to use Nike's teambuilder website to re-design some NFL uniforms Up first: The Carolina Panthers I like Carolina's design right now. Simple and clean. I wanted to keep that going and add a little to it. The home jerseys stay black with white numbers and a light blue outline. However I added the Panthers across front in light blue and put some light blue sleeves on it. Also a light blue/white stripe across the middle. The away jersey follows the same design as the home jersey with a some color swaps to fit the jersey. The alt light-blue jersey also works as the color rush jersey. Let me know what you guys think! Next up will be the Arizona Cardinals
  3. Newbie NHL Redesign +Bruins and Panthers

Hello. I am an animator and video editor and I have been working on and off on a logo redesign project for the better part of a year now (with long stretches of inactivity) as a way to get better at illustrator and I thought I would make an account here for some critique. I started really getting in to logo design when I came across a black and white and horribly pixelated design for a Fleur De Lis that I thought could be made into a St. Louis Blues logo, and after contacting the owner of the shop and asking about it and if I could mess with it, I did. I didn't really think it worked well as a main logo, but I did think it worked as a shoulder patch. I did it in a couple other colors as well and took the wordmark from the actual St. Louis Blues sheet music after an idea from the kind folks on the Blues subreddit. Over a year later I thought I decided I needed to get better at illustrator so I started designing alternate/shoulder logos for the rest of the league. I'm "done" with about 1/4 of the league at this point. Please let me know what you think and I would love to hear suggestions on what I need to improve on, but keep in mind I dont really know what I am doing. Also, if there is a better way to format this let me know. St. Louis Original: Wordmark: Colors: Revision: I did Minnesota next, where I thought a roundel logo would look cool. I did two variants of the same logo and one that was a riff on their main logo. 1: 2: 3: Colorado This one I actually think could stand up as a main logo. I got rid of their ugly "Millennium swoops' Winnipeg Classic colors: Modern Colors: Revision: Toronto: based on the city of Toronto's flag Ottowa: I wanted to play off their older logo that everyone loves so much without just making it an exact copy Revision: Buffalo: I took the crossed swords from their red logo days and put them behind the skull I drew. Penguins: I replaced the iconic triangle with a Pennsylvania keystone. Hopefully that doesn't make me a heretic. Revision: I put the penguin in a complete keystone and I like it, but I still think the half keystone looks better. Lightning: Honestly something's missing from this one, but everything I add makes it look worse so I decided to ask you all what you think. the L works pretty good but it seems empty. Again, these aren't really meant to replace the logo front of the jersey, most are meant to be shoulder patches, but this one feels empty. Revision: Wordmark: I thought trying to make it a wordmark would work a little bit better, and it does in some aspects, but it feels really empty still. Canadiens: I took the Fleur from the Montreal flag and tried to turn it in to an "M"which I think works pretty well, but I do think it needs some more polishing. I don't really like this better than their current logo but I think something like it could work as a shoulder patch 1: 2: Stars: I took their old star logo and updated the colors and added a recolored Texas flag. Then I removed the wordmark and had the star go through the middle of a D in the same style as the other letters 1: 2: After a bit of a hiatus, I am back. I took the Spirit of Detroit and added wings to it. I am not sure if I want to add something in his hands but I am pretty proud of this logo My ham-fisted attempt to make the Wings one more Art Deco: I have had this Preds logo in my back pocket for a little while now, its super simple and is kind of a combination of their shoulder patch and chest logo. I plan on doing another one for the Preds as well but I thought I'd post this one just to get an idea of what you guys think Bruins: I changed the black to brown and put a modern style bear logo in the middle of the spokes, I think it could work as an alt shoulder patch. Panthers: In my honest opinion, the Panthers shoulder logo is absolutely perfect, so I can’t do better than that. I’m working on a retro nose art one but if I can’t find any reference images this will be what I work off of
  4. NHL Crazy Outdoor Game

This may sound crazy, however Florida would make a great place for an outdoor game, probably a stadium series game. The perfect place would be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium (Raymond James Stadium). Tampa Bay can reach the temperature of nearly 32 F, a perfect temperature and can sustain ice long enough. This would be perfect for these two Florida teams, shedding much press attention on what would have otherwise been a fairly unnoticed event by them. The jersey were based off the old Tampa jerseys mashed together and were meant for Tampa only, however the Panthers looked too good in them to pass by. Generally the theme besides storm vs sun is retro jerseys. The arena would be set up with palm trees all around the outskirts similar Minnesota's pine tree display. There would be a small picture above the arena of a sun facing off against a storm, pushing against one another. This would be between the logos. When the Bolts come out lightning coils will activate as they walk in. When the Panthers walk in fire will erupt followed by gold-ish smoke. Worst case scenario it all melts .
  5. Vetting a New Logo Design

I need help... This is not my design. A high school is wanting to use this and I was asked to vet it for authenticity not design. Question is, does this look too much like any other logos out there. I cannot say that it does but I want to be sure. The high school had students submit designs and this one was voted on to be the winner. Not the best way to do this in my opinion but...
  6. I personally think that some of the extinct hockey teams looked the best. The Whalers, Nordiques, Rockies, Jets, etc. had some of my favorite hockey designs ever, and instead now we get to feast our eyes on the Hurricanes and Avalanche. Sad. So, This is basically my attempt to rewrite history, if the new franchises continued the look of their formers, Starting out with the Whaler-Hurricanes. The whalers had one of the best logos in all of sports history, and awesome uniforms and color scheme to boot, which helps to make the Hurricanes design more unique. C&C appreciated, and although I have some more on tap, let me know what you'd like to see next! Thanks!
  7. Las Vegas Panthers Concept

Hey Guys! Since we know the Las Vegas NHL expansion team will have something to do with Knights and Sand, I've decided to make a logo/team that already exists in the league. I don't know how they would get rid of Florida in the real world, but they did in my head. SO Las Vegas took over the Florida Panthers franchise and this is what I came up with. This makes sense, trust me. Since Pittsburgh abandoned Vegas Gold, I thought that would be perfect for Vegas. Basically the Pitt color scheme from a year ago. So! I hope you like this one! C&C Welcome!
  8. NFL Color Rush Uniforms

I decided to try 4 NFL Color Rush Uniforms. Let me know what you think. This was done rather quickly, so expect some errors.
  9. FLORIDA PANTHERS WINTER CLASSIC CONCEPT *UPDATED*

So I originally was going to post a topic on here again, when I finished my idea for a United American Continental Hockey League (That is not the name of the league but I may change it also you'll see what I mean when I post the list of teams as well as the first team). Until then an idea came to me about a Winter Classic in good'ol Florida. I do have a Tampa Bay Lighting idea in mind but I'm not sure if I want to post it. The design is a ode to the military with a unique style added in that fits in with the current uniforms of the Cats. THE JERSEY: I based the jersey off of the Stadium Series jersey for the Detroit Redwings as well as the striping inspired by the Canadiens and current Panthers uniform. The patch towards the cuff of the sleeves is a Captain's patch from the United States Military (I gave it to Ekblad because I feel by the time they get a Winter Classic Willie Mitchell will have retired and Ekblad will have matured enough to deserve the 'C'... well in this case Captain's bars) Here is a closer look at the Captain's patch... The Navy Blue and and Gold are in there because well it the Panthers' colors so it makes sense. I chose a silver/grey/whatever (technically it Grey-25%) instead of Red because of one simple reason. In the US Military a Captain's bars are silver so it fits in with the Military motif. C&C Appreciated* Some quick Criticisms that I know will be mentioned: -No Winter Classic Patch (I am not the best artist soooo...yeah there's that.) -Main logo too fuzzy (I attempted to fix it up... I stress attempted. Also, I'm using MS paint.) -Using MS Paint
  10. Florida Panthers Redesign

With the Panthers' logo leak today, I made a mockup for it and what I expect the jerseys to look like. I think this redesign can and will go really well, but there's always that chance that Reebok screws everything up. The logo is good, but the jerseys are yet to come. Here are my concepts!
  11. Florida Panthers

What do you think about the new uniforms for next year
  12. Yes, I am throwing my hat into the ring with some "Color Rush" jerseys of myself. Since St. Louis and Tampa Bay have wrapped up the reveals for 2015, the first of my concepts will be modifying the actual uniforms to fit the "rules" of my series. First and foremost, and I'm sure most of you can agree with me here, I do not like monochrome. Especially from head neck to toe. That being said, I am going to follow a set of guidelines, or "rules," if you will, that cater to generating aesthetically pleasing uniforms full of color. RULES: 1. No white in the uniforms - Yes, I am going to attempt this series completely void of white, with the exceptions of logos and when working with teams that only use one color and white (i.e. Indianapolis and New York Jets). 2. Color from head to toe - This does include the helmet (See Rule #1). This is a concept series, and, therefore, I do not care about the NFL's "one helmet rule." 3. Colors available for use are colors that the team has worn in the past or present - there will be no new colors generated 4. No modifications to existing logos other than color (i.e. St. Louis Rams, as seen in the first concept) - All 32 teams will be using their current logos. -and most importantly- 5. NO MONOCHROME Well, alright, let's get this thing going. NFL COLOR RUSH #1: ST. LOUIS RAMS I saw a Rams concept on these very boards not too long ago that I really liked. I apologize for not remembering who did it, but I remember commenting on it, so, to whoever it is: credit to you, sir for the inspiration. Honestly, I've had this idea floating around for awhile. Initially I wanted to see how the uniform would look with the horns on the sleeves but my fear of Nike's awkward templates and cuts cutting off the horns led me to change my mind. The idea of the uniform is primarily based upon the Los Angeles Rams' uniforms from the 50's and later for the NFL's 75th anniversary in 1994. I utilized the bold single pant stripe from the L.A.'s 1964-72 blue and white uniforms. The numerals are based off of the current St. Louis Rams' numbers; they're modern yet not over-the-top like some number fonts in the NFL. The helmet is basically what the Rams have worn in both L.A. and during their "Greatest Show on Turf" times in St. Louis. The only exception is the shade of blue, which I have changed to match the royal blue used in the logo and on the pants. Thanks for viewing. Tell me what ya think!
