  1. So, now that I got the Miami Marlins off my chest, I figured I should tweak the other teams that have been bothering me too. Nothing bothered me as much as the Marlins, but it doesn't take much to aggravate me...sadly. The next team I wanted to put a paint brush to was San Diego. Like most, I feel they should be going back to the brown and yellow colors. I on the other hand want to put more emphasis on the brown and keep the yellow to a minimum. I have no issue with their current word scripts and uniform style, I just feel the brown and yellow would look better. So with that in mind, here is my version of the Padres. The away has a grey that has very slight orange tint to it, just to give it some warmth with the brown and yellow. Then there is the Home alternate. The big trend of having the logo over the heart/left side is not missed on the Padres. I'm currently working on a brown top alternate for the road as well as a new main logo that will combine a few era's logos with the swinging friar as the center piece. How does that look? C+C appreciated.
  2. 2018 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic

It's starting to sound more and more like the Rangers and Sabres are going to face off in the 2018 Winter Classic. Here's my take on what they should wear for the event.
  3. Six months after the unveiling of the new Maple Leafs uniform, I'm used to the mega-thick stripe on the hem, but I actually don't like the classic double stripes on the arms. A great logo like this needs a bold design to compliment it, so I decided to make my fix. The Arenas' 4-stripe barberpole adjusted to fit the thick hem stripe replaces the double stripe, while on the home the stripe is lowered to throwback to the Arenas and form a T with the new pants. The stripe is kept where it is on the away, so the negative white space on the hem connects with the pants. The pants themselves are simple. so to go with the stripe I just put the simple Arenas' T. To show the full uniform and the T on the pants, I used one of JCRGraphix's great templates. C&C Appreciated!
  4. The Kings miniseries went so well, I'm doing it again, this time with the Penguins! Like last time, I'm taking various styles the Pens have worn in their history, and sort of jumbling up which logos and colors are used, and also giving the Pens a suitable opponent and giving them similar treatment. Here's the itinerary: 60s Night: vs Rangers 70s Night: vs. Barons Blue Jackets 80s Night: vs Capitals 90s Night: vs Sabres 2K Night: vs Senators possible bonus nights: 90s Alt Night (TBD), Pittsburgh Hornets Night (likely vs. Flyers) So without further ado, 60s Night vs. the New York Rangers As is already known, what's old is new again as the Pens return to yellow gold...and here, the Pens' jersey uses the striping from the original set from 1966, only in the current colors. Took a little liberty by using shoulder crests at all...and now to the Broadway Blueshirts, whose set is red-heavy...because I felt like giving you something to complain about Seriously, though, picking a 60s opponent was tricky. I didn't want to dip into the opposite conference if I can help it, I don't want to use a given opponent more than once, and given these are for THIS season, the opponent kinda needs to be a current NHL team, albeit the history being dipped into doesn't necessarily need to be from the NHL (I'm leaning towards Blues and Stars series after this one, and I'm likely gonna dip into the WHA and a southern minor league or two). Far as the 60s go, the only Original 6 teams that look noticeably different from how they do now are the Leafs and Bruins, and not by a whole lot. Hell, I'm mildly surprised I was able to squeeze anything out of the Rangers, given how rarely they've strayed from their diagonal script. Later on, 70s Night vs. the Blue Jackets as the Barons...til then, speak on it.
  5. MLB Tweaks (Final Logos)

Hey everyone, For a while I've enjoyed to think about what kind of changes I would make to uniforms across MLB, just being into design as I am. I've always wanted to make a thread of my own here after seeing so many great ones, but never thought I had the computer skills, nor did I really think hand-drawns would show up great online. After my Twins concept though, I got to thinking and decided to at least try to flesh it out into an entire MLB-wide series. Things are probably gonna slow down quite a bit from me once school starts back up, but at least this is worth starting. This series is just gonna be my fixes to things across each of the uniforms, I'm gonna save major redesigns for maybe a future series... So here it goes starting off, naturally, with the Arizona Diamondbacks: Logos -Brick red, Black, and Teal are now the main colors. It's a good time for Arizona to move on to a more modern scheme. -The teal has been adjusted a bit, it's a little greener to look more like a color inspired by Native Navajo jewelry rather than Tron electric blue. -Caps are both the A logo, just because I'm personally not a fan of the D snake. -Both caps have the diamond snakeskin pattern on the brim to still achieve the two-tone look. -Sand-ish colors are still present in the identity, as the home is now cream, and the away is full-on the sand color. Uniforms -I like the way the 'D-backs' wordmark looks, besides the fact that it says 'D-backs'. I had to compromise and put the 'A' on the home. -The diamond pattern is on the back of all jerseys, which makes sense for a team named the Diamondbacks. -No pattern on the pants. It isn't really necessary. -I decided to keep the cut piping, but cut it at an angle on the jerseys, like the pants. The colors are also now teal/red/teal on the jerseys because I feel that looks more Arizona and less Tron. -As said before, the away is now sand. I didn't hate the concept of dark gray, just didn't think it fit the team, especially with teal. -Snake patch is on all jerseys. -Both alternates can be home and road. -Some may not like this, but all accessory elements are interchangeable. Things like hats, belts, and socks can be worn in different combinations with different jerseys. So, of course, let me know what you all think! All comments/criticisms welcome!
  6. New York Rangers Cleanup

So the trend nowadays is take a logo from the 60's and simplify it, maybe change the colors a little bit. And the Rangers, while being one of the better designed teams, also need a logo update. So without any further ado, I present to you the new-look Rangers! C&C Appreciated!
  7. Globe Life Park Logo

As a native Texan, I've been to more Rangers games than I can remember. As one of the most beautiful parks in the country, the stadium needs a logo that helps promote it's appearance. Therefore, I have decided to rebrand 'Globe Life Park.' More will come as soon as I feel the logo in finalized. Comments and critiques are welcome! Thanks!
  8. Where to sit at MSG

Hi guys, My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to NYC and we'll be going to a few sports games. I've never been to an NBA game before and I'm looking for some advice as far as where to sit at MSG for a Knicks game. We want a decent view but don't want to break the bank (around $100-$120 USD would be ideal). I've been looking at seats in the 200 level but I have two concerns... From the pictures I've seen from these sections, there appears to be an overhang above the seats that seems like it would make the seats feel closed in and a little more removed from the atmosphere of the arena. Also, since I've never been to an NBA game, the 200 level seems like it might be too far away. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
  9. One team has had one of baseball's most colorful uniform histories. The other is currently under the impression that it is a college team. I give you the Lone Star Series, 20 minutes into the past First, the Astros This is basically the 70s & 80s Rainbow Guts in black, brick and sand for the home set, and the 80s-93 Rainbow sleeves for the road. Even decided to echo their use of the lightest gray ever, and later cream, for the roads by using a lighter sand as the base color. Now, the Rangers Honestly, most of the good ideas I've ever had for the Rangers, I've already used. So here, I break out the 90s star and slap it on the left chest like a badge. The grays, I thought about what to do until I chose a decidedly 1900s direction: a big TX, one letter on each side of the chest. And not much else. Speak on it. Might as well make a list so you know what to expect...so Canada (Blue Jays vs Expos-90s) Texas (Astros vs Rangers-2000s) St. Louis (Cardinals vs Browns-40s) Philly (Phillies vs A's-30s or 40s) NYC (Dodgers vs Giants vs Yankees-50s) Beantown (Red Sox vs Braves-30s or 40s) I-94 (Brewers vs White Sox-70s...or 80s..or early 90s. Not sure yet.)
  10. For me I have the Rangers when they wear white jerseys with the red cap. The preponderance of blue on the lettering doesn't blend well with the red cap. NFL-wise, I have the Titans' white jersey with navy pants. The lighter blue (Titan blue) on the jersey shoulders does not blend well with the darker navy of the jerseys.
  11. Texas Rangers Rebrand

Love the Rangers but hate so much about their current look so I tried to create something that felt in line with some of the history and not a complete ground up redo. Very much inspired by some of the modern retro threads that have gone on around here. Anyways I'm a long time lurker for the most part, so C&C is welcome on my first thread post. First things first, here's the New Logo: Home Unis: Road Unis:
  12. I personally like the new scoreboard/jumbotron @ Madison Square Garden. What do you think?
