    2018 NFL Redesigns (19/32)

I posted an NFL concept series like this three years ago but I don't believe I ever finished it. I've been updating a few of my concepts recently though and thought I'd make it a complete series. First up Tampa Bay and Tennessee. With Tampa Bay I just want to invite more red on to their road jerseys as well as make the alarm clock numbers look a little less like alarm clock numbers. I was excited when I heard Tennessee were getting new uniforms but I think they tweaked too much. They do need to modernise the shoulder yoke but Columbia blue suits them better than navy and white helmets look better than navy ones. Used a bolder number font too. Updated list: Buffalo Bills Miami Dolphins New England Patriots (V.2) Baltimore Ravens Cincinnati Bengals Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans Denver Broncos Kansas City Chiefs Oakland Raiders Dallas Cowboys Atlanta Falcons Carolina Panthers Tampa Bay Buccaneers Arizona Cardinals LA Rams San Francisco 49ers Seattle Seahawks (V.2)

    Dallas Mavericks Rebrand // CrownCorvus

It's soon to be a new day and age here in Dallas. We are rapidly approaching the end of the Dirk era and last season was the worst season for the Mavericks in 20 years. After a period that included 12 straight playoff appearances, 2 Southwest Titles, 2 Conference Championships and finally hoisting the Larry O' Brien with some revenge over the Miami Heat, it's time for the rebuild (whether Mark Cuban is willing to be fined to be so upfront about admitting it or not) With a new core of Dennis Smith, Jr , Harrison Barnes and Luka Dončić setting up the future for the Mavericks, now is a perfect time for the Dallas Mavericks to rebrand for the next chapter in our franchise's history The primary logo keeps the horse iconography but the horse is now holding his head high. This fixes the issue of the "emo horse" look for the current primary and distinguishes the team from other horse logos that are either charging forward (Denver Broncos) or have their head down midbuck (Boise State / 90s Detroit Pistons) The off center roundel wordmarking for the primary was inspired by the Boston Celtics and was done to give the primary logo a feeling of motion. Green returns as the primary color for the team at a slightly brighter green than from their inaugural season. The Navy used is the same shade as the current. The font, Melma Black, was chosen for its balance between solid shapes and slight western feeling. While I was tempted to modify the old M-hat logo, I wanted the secondary to use a capital D. The logo is inspired by 47Brand's hat which is too strong of a look to be left as an unofficial logo any longer. The new Association uniform brings the wordmark bold and out front. The Icon Uniform returns the Mavericks to a Green base team to unify them with their co-tenants at the AAC. Additionally using green as their primary dark uniform helps distinguish them from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The side striping takes inspiration from the logo of the jersey sponsor, American Airlines. Our current city uniform has "DAL" out front which is a name we never refer to ourselves by unless you're talking about Love Field. Of course, for obvious reasons, you can't put "Big D" in front of a NBA uniform. To compromise you have a modified version of the secondary logo alluding to this nickname. The striping for the logo and numbers take inspiration from the green neon lights in Downtown Dallas against the night sky. CC welcome

    2018 NBA Concepts

I've never done NBA concept series like this before. I've only done court designs but never jerseys. Big shout out to Hoopladawg87 for sharing one of his templates with me, and to Daniel Ramone for creating it. This series is mostly a tweak of what teams were wearing during the 2017/2018 season. Home and roads only for now. I hope to finish it. Up first, the Philadelphia 76ers No major changes here. Just reverting the roads to red because blue looks a little boring them. Updating the wordmark to match the font on their 2017/18 City Jersey which I think makes the jersey looks less cluttered (thin wordmark makes more room for thick side panels). #2. Orlando Magic Inspired by the T-Mac era jerseys, as 90s as they are, I think the stars could work (if Atlanta's triangles are any indication of a watermark pattern would look like) and they're a more unique identifier than pinstripes (which I think are a little tired). I also switched the blue out for a darker shade which I think suits a Florida team more. Feedback welcome of course.
  4. A while ago I saw a project on Behance that really inspired me to maybe start a similar project. This is the link of the one I saw: https://www.behance.net/gallery/35060175/Reform-Redesigned-Logos Muskat is a wonderfully creative team of two designers from Germany and lets say I started following them ever since I first glanced at their projects. They focused on German brands and stores, making them look better, I on the other hand, will focus on the stores I see in my town of Zagreb, no matter what country a brand comes from. I just might put in a Croatian one, maybe... Sooooo, long story short, I started with Müller, a German trade company that basically sells everything from perfumes to cosmetics, from notebooks and pens to toys (lots and lots of toys). Lets say they are part one of my project. https://dribbble.com/shots/2857281-M-ller <--------dribbble link I hope you leave a like and a comment. Thank you! EDIT: The image is a GIF, so if you click it you'll see the logo on different color backgrounds.
  5. In 2008, the Tampa Bay Rays dropped the Devil for a logo concept that could at best be considered conservative. Combined with the dull soup can that is Tropicana Field, this lead to uniforms and branding that is all together entirely too dark for a team invoking the sun. With a new stadium on the way and a new era of success (hopefully) on the horizon, now is the time to shift to a look that displays the bright future of the franchise in more ways than just the name. Sky Blue takes the stage as the new primary color of the team with Sunshine Gold as the main accent. This 1) brightens the team's look at 2) gives them a unique color combination not used by any current team as their primary look. The updated navy Ocean Blue, while absent from the primary logo, does appear in the The new logo proudly displays the TB backed by the golden sun of the Sunshine State. The Sun has a more traditional burst to it compared to the sparkle and carries on it nine points, one for each player on the field. Some rebrands of the Rays have them dropping the Bay in favor of just being the Tampa Rays and I've never thought that flowed well for starters and it alienates the team from the other area franchises. The Buccaneers, Lightning and Rowdies have all embraced the Bay and have been shown that love back. No matter where the new stadium is put, a team in this position needs to doing everything it can to rally the entire area under its banner. The cap takes inspiration from the old Expos but it meant to evoke the Sun breaking from behind clouds on a sunny day. (Or if you don't like rebrand speak, Powder Blue sidepanels with a gold bill just looks solid to me). The decision for a single cap was to keep the brand as simple as possible on the jump and of course BP options and the like would be added later. Taking a cue from one of my favorite uniforms, the home whites have the primary logo over the chest alone. The associated wordmark, while not appearing on the uniform, would be the main wordmark stripings for tickets, stadium branding etc. The road grays show the first use of Ocean Blue but you still get a sense of this being a Sky and Sun team and not another Navy and White squad. For the alternate uniform a lighter shade of the Sky Blue is used as the base which complemented the gold on top rather than a pure Sky base in which the gold was lost a little bit. Too much of a good thing.
  6. A few months ago the Jags came out with a new uniform set. The Jags are my second fave team behind the Bucs and I was curious about them. They were revealed and had very mixed reception. I decided to save my judgment until I've seen more of it. I may do this with the Titans who also got a big overhaul at some other point. After letting it marinate and doing research on what NIKE and the Jags organization wanted from these I've come to a solid conclusion. My opinion may change when I see them on field but for now I feel I've seen enough of them Helmet- The helmet is amazing. It is simple but looks beautiful. I'm glad they didn't go matte because I really think matte black helmets look kind of cheap compared to colored ones. overall 10/10 Jersey- So I am very mixed about these jersey sets. On one hand I appreciate the clean look but on the other hand it just looks so boring. I don't think clean and boring are synonymous but these don't invoke any feeling out of me. Everything about these just screams 'fine'. The numbers are okay. I prefer the old font but these are okay I think they look a bit too wide but it is serviceable. There is very little detail to them to talk about. I don't mind the tiny jaguar head on the chest but it also looks kind of awkward. I don't mind patches but with teams like the Steelers or the Jets the patches look much more natural. Here with the jaguars it doesn't work for me. The JAGS patch honestly looked much better as a patch and here it felt like cheap NFL branding. I do prefer it over a big wordmark above the numbers though. The numbers have embezzled trim that matches the color of the jerseys but it isn't noticeable from afar. I also think the cuffs of the sleeves look rather strange with the colored tips. It is even stranger as close up they have these claw marks but they aren't noticeable so it is whatever 5/10 Pants and socks- Again not much to talk about very plain. The back of the pants have this weird teal half stripe for some reason. The socks do look nice with the teal stripe at the bottom but that is it 5/10 So my final grade is a 6.6/10. It is an okay look for now but it definitely feels like an over correction of the previous. They are kind of disappointing especially with all the talk of tradition and makes it more annoying when you watch the documentary on them. Some direct quotes from it 'We have three players who should be in the HoF... And with these new uniforms we want people to think back to these players' 'The teal is the heart of the brand' 'The uniforms are simple, bold, traditional and distinct' It just feels like they are saying one thing and doing another. They want to essentially combine the past and present but gives a look that is nothing like the old school design. They say teal is the heart of the brand but make black the primary. They say they are simple, bold, traditional and distinct but only one of those fits the description. I honestly feel the Jags should embrace crazy designs but also be good. They are a 90s team with a unique color pallet it is kind of silly to act like they are a founding NFL team. Teams like the Giants can have simple uniforms because they are an old school team the Jags aren't. I understand the reason but I just feel they went from one extreme to another. Now how would I fix them? - Use the old font. It looked good and fit the branding. It is also basically an updated version of the older rounded font - Have gold and teal/black trim on the number - Remove the jaguar head from the chest and move it to the front of the pants - Perhaps add some kind of claw mark striping on the sleeve caps and pants. Maybe even introduce an updated version of their full body jaguar logo - Have teal be the primary I just personally feel these uniforms are a decent start but take themselves way too seriously. I saw someone on reddit do an analyst on the old set and he said the biggest problem is they lacked an identity. To me these uniforms have even less identity and persists with the problem. Honestly the old set was just a few tweaks from being perfect just use a full black helmet and remove some of the excess stuff and they'd have been amazing In summary they are perfectly fine and should definitely add onto them in the future and embrace the teal and gold instead of black and white
  7. Hey guys, remember me? No? Oh well. I actually made these a year or two ago, and just never got around to posting them. Now I am back from my hiatus and am ready to post some kicky-sphere concepts. (This is actually an MLS redesign but don't tell anyone) Onto the first team, Atlanta United FC For the primary, I basically took their current home and made it stripier, because Adidas needs to lose their shameless plugs (3 stripes on the front of the jersey Editors Note: It's really hard to write about changes after not writing about changes For the clash, I felt like we didn't need two sets of stripes, so I tried something different (I may go back and edit the sash because I don't like how it is now, I just took these and posted them.) Anyways, this was I actually believe my first or second attempt at a soccer jersey, so obviously it's gonna be rough, I'll grow over time. Philly or Chicago next!
  8. I can see this NBA courts redesign thing is quite popular these days on the forum. So here is mine. I'm gonna post how i think NBA courts should look like with their current logos and colors, and how i think that team's court should look like with my personal set of logos of that team. I have to mention that i started watching the NBA in 2001 so most of the teams i think should look like in that era. I'm gonna do them alphabetically so here is the Atlanta Hawks. I really don't like the use of neon green they have so i tried to minimize it on their court. I think they should be red and white team. And here is how i think the Hawks should look like. Next is Boston. C&C is appreciated.

    MN Vikings Logo Redesign

I am a huge fan of how recognizable and unique the current Minnesota Vikings logo is but after studying design for a few semesters, I've come across some fundamental composition flaws in the viking head. 1. Since this a profile view of the viking, the back horn should not be visible to us. It should be obstructed by the horn closest to us. 2. The shape of the emblem as a whole fights for your attention because it has multiple points pulling you in different directions. This isn't a problem if the directions are equidistant (like a star) or pulling you in a general direction but the helmet, horns, hair, braid, and mustache all bring you somewhere else (as pictured in the diagram below). Now these things seem minor, but they leave the viking head looking very static in space. 3. The mustache looks fine. This is just personal opinion but I think beards look meaner. My goal for this redesign was to create a streamlined, visually appealing, and tougher version of the classic logo that feels like a natural progression into the future. My solution to my issues with the existing logo was to remove the back horn, recompose the curves to all point behind the viking head, and add a beard for a tougher and more modern look. I'm still in the process of refining the logo but I wanted to post it on here to get some feedback before I dive in too far. The beard feels sort of empty compared to the interior of the hair but I'm not sure how to incorporate the same line quality without making it feel too busy.

Newbie NHL Redesign +Bruins and Panthers

Hello. I am an animator and video editor and I have been working on and off on a logo redesign project for the better part of a year now (with long stretches of inactivity) as a way to get better at illustrator and I thought I would make an account here for some critique. I started really getting in to logo design when I came across a black and white and horribly pixelated design for a Fleur De Lis that I thought could be made into a St. Louis Blues logo, and after contacting the owner of the shop and asking about it and if I could mess with it, I did. I didn't really think it worked well as a main logo, but I did think it worked as a shoulder patch. I did it in a couple other colors as well and took the wordmark from the actual St. Louis Blues sheet music after an idea from the kind folks on the Blues subreddit. Over a year later I thought I decided I needed to get better at illustrator so I started designing alternate/shoulder logos for the rest of the league. I'm "done" with about 1/4 of the league at this point. Please let me know what you think and I would love to hear suggestions on what I need to improve on, but keep in mind I dont really know what I am doing. Also, if there is a better way to format this let me know. St. Louis Original: Wordmark: Colors: Revision: I did Minnesota next, where I thought a roundel logo would look cool. I did two variants of the same logo and one that was a riff on their main logo. 1: 2: 3: Colorado This one I actually think could stand up as a main logo. I got rid of their ugly "Millennium swoops' Winnipeg Classic colors: Modern Colors: Revision: Toronto: based on the city of Toronto's flag Ottowa: I wanted to play off their older logo that everyone loves so much without just making it an exact copy Revision: Buffalo: I took the crossed swords from their red logo days and put them behind the skull I drew. Penguins: I replaced the iconic triangle with a Pennsylvania keystone. Hopefully that doesn't make me a heretic. Revision: I put the penguin in a complete keystone and I like it, but I still think the half keystone looks better. Lightning: Honestly something's missing from this one, but everything I add makes it look worse so I decided to ask you all what you think. the L works pretty good but it seems empty. Again, these aren't really meant to replace the logo front of the jersey, most are meant to be shoulder patches, but this one feels empty. Revision: Wordmark: I thought trying to make it a wordmark would work a little bit better, and it does in some aspects, but it feels really empty still. Canadiens: I took the Fleur from the Montreal flag and tried to turn it in to an "M"which I think works pretty well, but I do think it needs some more polishing. I don't really like this better than their current logo but I think something like it could work as a shoulder patch 1: 2: Stars: I took their old star logo and updated the colors and added a recolored Texas flag. Then I removed the wordmark and had the star go through the middle of a D in the same style as the other letters 1: 2: After a bit of a hiatus, I am back. I took the Spirit of Detroit and added wings to it. I am not sure if I want to add something in his hands but I am pretty proud of this logo My ham-fisted attempt to make the Wings one more Art Deco: I have had this Preds logo in my back pocket for a little while now, its super simple and is kind of a combination of their shoulder patch and chest logo. I plan on doing another one for the Preds as well but I thought I'd post this one just to get an idea of what you guys think Bruins: I changed the black to brown and put a modern style bear logo in the middle of the spokes, I think it could work as an alt shoulder patch. Panthers: In my honest opinion, the Panthers shoulder logo is absolutely perfect, so I can’t do better than that. I’m working on a retro nose art one but if I can’t find any reference images this will be what I work off of

    Boston Bruins Logo Redesign Concept

The Boston Bruins Logo is timeless, and that's why I decided to redesign it. ...Wait what? One of the best challenges is designing a new logo that "Cannot be made any better." By no means am I saying it's better, but I had a blast making it. What are your thoughts?
  16. Hey guys, EJaws here. Im deciding to start a Minnesota High School hockey redesign. Ill be starting with the Metro East conference and we will go from there! LETS MEET THE TEAMS/PLAY HOCKEY! Hastings Raiders [Royal Blue & Gold] Henry Sibley Warriors [Red & Las Vegas Gold?] Hill Murray Pioneers [Green & Black] Mahtomedi Zephyrs [Navy & Gold] North St Paul Polars [ Red & White] Simley Spartans [Blue & Red] South St Paul Packers [Maroon & White] St. Thomas Academy Cadets [Blue & White] Tartan Titans [Black & Blue] To Begin this project i started with remaking the Conference logo. I decide i needed to remake it when the only image I could find was 90x79. I really like the way this logo was going, so I tried to clean it up a bit. OLD LOGO-> NEW LOGO-> CC is appreciated
  17. Skip to end of series for all 32 teams together After just finishing up my NFL series, I've decided to tackle the NHL. Like my last thread, my goal here is to tastefully modernize without going too crazy. Some of the designs will be a complete overhaul, while some will just be minor changes to perfect the look. Also, I will be expanding the league by 2 teams in the West. One in the Central and one in the Pacific to even out both conferences to 16 teams. I'm not going in any particular order here so these will just come as I have ideas and finish. As always, C&C is greatly appreciated and I hope you all enjoy! 1/32 -- Winnipeg Jets First up is the Winnipeg Jets. Jets fans have always taken their hockey seriously and have a very strong brand and sense of pride in their team. I wanted to go with a classic/sleek design here. When the Jets released their sweaters, I was never a fan of the double blue. In my concept below, I have removed the lighter shade of blue. Also of note, I removed the shoulder patches. While I really do like the logo, I have decided that the design works better without them. Home/Road/Alternate Sweater The home jersey is primarily dark blue. The jersey crest remains unchanged. Striping is consistent on the sleeves and the waistline. It features a thick white bottom stripe with a thinner silver stripe above. Numbers are white with a silver outline. Collar is two toned with silver on the top and white on the bottom. The collar laces have also been removed as I feel like the pointed collar ties in better with the sharpness. The away sweater is much like the home with white becoming the primary. New here is a blue yoke which comes down to a point just above the sleeve numbers as opposed to the traditional rounded yoke. I feel that this blends well with the design, especially the tip of the Jet in the logo. Numbers are now blue with a silver outline. The third sweater is a white alternate. I thought this would be fitting and they could wear it for special occasions such as "White outs" as they have had in the past. Essentially it is the road jersey with the Jets wordmark angled across the front.
  18. Over the past year and a half, I've been improving my logo design capabilities and now I'm at a point where I believe that I can start pitching redesigns to area high schools. However, I'm rather unfamiliar with how I should go about pitching a redesign to a high school out of the blue. As a journalist, I only have experience cold calling schools and companies as a member of a press and not as a salesman. Given how you can't throw a rock on this forum without hitting a high school redesign, I was wondering if anyone would help shed some lights on the dos/don'ts. I'm mostly looking at pitching to schools who are currently "borrowing" pro and college logos/schools currently using Native American imagery. Other than having a portfolio/lookbook handy to showcase my previous logo designs, should I preview my redesign for their school (if I've already made it) or hold-off to show it until we've reached some sort of agreement (if I should even have a pre-made redesign ready in the first place).

    New York Knicks Nike Rebrand

Hey y'all: Decided I'd take a shot at rebranding the New York Knicks, a team with a current brand identity plagued by horribleness and bad management. General Comments: Silver will be removed from the color scheme in its entirety, leaving a new vintage blue, a slightly darkened orange, and white as the three colors. LOGOS: Primary: This roundball concept is similar to that of the 70th anniversary logo the team used last season, featuring the new orange from that logo as well. The logo features the Knicks' current ball alternate logo center stage, with New York Knicks Basketball branding and the teams establishment date, 1946. Secondary: This works off of the Knicks' primary logo history, specifically in the past 25 years. However, it incorporates the ball from the older logos while donning an updated "Knicks" text above the ball where all of the letters are the same size in proportion. It holds far more true to the logo of the championship era than the current one, which still holds a bad taste of the Isiah Era. Partial: Simply enough, this is a reversed color version of the ball logo, used primarily on white. UNIFORMS: The new nike branding is added near the right shoulder and Chase will be on the left side as the jersey ad. The sleeves no longer are broken in the middle and are now connected. Both the home and road jerseys cut the silver from the sleeves/neck as well, leaving blue and orange on the home and white and orange on the road. Both uniforms also adopt the new shades of blue and orange, but the fonts remain in tact, although also with silver removed. The home jersey features the partial logo on the shorts, while the road features the secondary on the shorts; both replacing the old primary. While this uniform refresh is not drastic (due to the novelty of the existing uniforms), it makes some much needed changes and is similar to that of the Timberwolves uniform refresh in the late 00s. What do you think?

    UNI Panthers Redesign Concept

Hello! I'm brand new to the site and this is my first time ever redesigning a sports team's logo. For the most part, my redesign has been perceived very well, but I would love to hear constructive criticism, good or bad, in order to help me in the future. Thanks! Jake M.
  21. I've taken another long break from concepts, so consider this my return. I've decided on a redesign of the Pac-12. I've completed all 12 teams before I started this thread, and I will release one every four days. I am going in a completely random order. Here are the release dates: 9/29 (Today): Oregon 10/3: Arizona 10/7: Stanford 10/11: Cal 10/15: Arizona State 10/19: Washington State 10/23: UCLA 10/27: Washington 10/31: USC 11/4: Oregon State 11/8: Utah 11/12: Colorado Starting with Oregon. Oregon gets some consistency in this set I love the "O" on the helmet, so that returns full time. Only (only?) six helmets, six jerseys, and six pants. The Duck is on the sleeves, and the shoulders have a modified wing pattern. The shoulder wings are supposed to be reflective, like this Hit me up with C&C!
  22. (Edit 12/30/16) Took a break for a couple days but I will get back to it soon to do some fixes on LA, and Washington for sure..maybe some others) I wanted to start a project that would get my creativity going, and kind of kick-start me back into the mood of graphic design. I decided to create my ideal NHL. (formerly "perfect", but nothings perfect) This is what I personally would change, or not change as far as teams logos are concerned. I accept all thoughts, ideas, proposed changes etc..... ******NOT ALL THESE DESIGNS ARE MINE.****** Some are obviously based on teams past and present logo archives. Some are from concepts created that I found online. I will recognize each and every aspect of a logo, or entire logos that are not mine, and give 100% credit where credit is due. Most teams have a current logo, and a source logo (the logo used for my inspiration to my own) I will explain the best I can how I came up with the thought behind each chosen logo. I know most of them are color changes, but remember..this started as a project to get me motivated back into graphic design. There will be more custom projects to follow ANAHEIM DUCKS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGO USED FOR MY VERSION: MY VERSION: (ALTERED ORIGINAL MIGHTY DUCKS LOGO) - I wanted to revert back to the old Mighty Ducks logo because I think it's more recognizable than the current webbed "D", it has attitude, and I just like it a whole lot better. - I felt the original colors were good to use since they are very unique, but I also wanted to incorporate the more 'orangey' orange for the sticks and the whole "Orange County" reference. - I removed the shading from inside the holes for the mask. ARIZONA COYOTES CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (REVERT BACK TO ORIGINAL PHOENIX COYOTES LOGO) - Pretty much the same thought process as the Ducks. I wanted the older logo because of its attitude. The new one just really really doesn't do anything for me. - I figure the old logo will do good with an updated jersey, with the use of the dark maroon, and off-white for striping. Keep the crazy amount of colors strictly to the logo itself. BOSTON BRUINS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (ALTERED SHADE OF YELLOW) - Small change to the yellow. Made if more of a distinct yellow, instead of the often used "golden yellow" around the NHL. BUFFALO SABRES CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGOS (2): MY VERSION: - I really enjoyed the outcome of this one. - I asked myself, how could I make such a non-photogenic animal appear menacing for the Sabres. I like the total idea of the swords and the buffalo, but something just wasn't fully there for me to love it. I decided to remove the heavy blue from inside the circle, changed it to white keeping the overall look that people love, but giving it a modern feel. - Some people may not like the light grey within the white, but I attempted to make the wordmark and buffalo blue, and it just didn't give the look I wanted. I like the slightly subliminal approach. To each his own I suppose. CALGARY FLAMES CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (REMOVE BLACK OUTLINE) - Simply removed the black outline. Is it necessary at all??? CAROLINA HURRICANES CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (MODIFIED) - Changed the center to a more simplistic design. - Thickened the silver outline. - I feel as though there is a slight sense of movement the way it is offset. Didn't think this logo needed a major overhaul, but at the same time...something was not right. CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS (NO CHANGES MADE) COLORADO AVALANCHE CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (MODIFIED) - Removed the blue oval and thickened the outline. - I felt the oval took away from the sizing of the logo especially while on jerseys, and I felt that it really serves no purpose on a logo that isn't exactly symmetrical to begin with. COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (SWITCH TO BLUE AND OFF-WHITE ALTERNATE) - I HATE everything about the current primary Columbus uses. They overused red, white and blue scheme. And the primary logo that belongs at an All-Star game, not anywhere else to represent a professional sports team. - In comes the alternate blue and off-white canncon logo. Along with the jerseys they use to sport this logo. In my opinion this brings the overall look of the Blue Jackets from absolute worst in the league, to the top. They couldn't switch to this style in real life fast enough if you ask me. DALLAS STARS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGO: **NOT MY DESIGN*** DESIGN CREDIT TO 'TORCH CREATIVE' MY VERSION: - I took the design from Torch Creative and changed the shade of yellow to a lighter version, getting away from the brown spectrum. - I really like the design those guys came up with, and I just can't stand the current one used by Dallas, just does not feel like a great concept to me. DETROIT RED WINGS (NO CHANGES MADE) EDMONTON OILERS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: - I darkened the blue, and added the copper color (once used by the team) as an outline for the orange. I think it adds a little bit extra, without taking away any of the classic aspects from the well known Oilers logo. FLORIDA PANTHERS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGOS: (2) MY VERSION: - Not a fan of the new Panthers logo, I set out to create something that I always wanted to see, the old panther, slightly less detailed, jumping out of the sun. - I mocked this up against their older red jerseys and this logo really pops! HARTFORD WHALERS (TEAM ADDED) (NO CHANGES TO LOGO) - One of the greatest logos of all time in any sport. I just had to have the Hartford Whalers back in my perfect NHL, what's not to love? - Used original (lighter) blue and green. LA KINGS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGOS: (2) MY VERSION: - I felt there were a ton better options than the current banner flag / shield thing the Kings have going on right now. (Even though they've had success with it) - I wanted purple back in the picture, along with the crown and the font from that era. - After messing around quite a bit, this modern shield is what I came up with. I'd prefer this on a black jersey. LAS VEGAS KNIGHTS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM:(ALL LEGAL ISSUES ASIDE) MY VERSION: - Added the 'Las' to Vegas because it's just better. - With the LA Kings change to purple for my project, I figured silver would be the best way to go for the Knights. The dark color is an EXTREMELY deep blue, almost black, and the unique shade of red outline reminds me of the Canucks when they went blue and red. At the same time this feels different to me. - Looks a ton better than the current mud in my opinion. MINNESOTA WILD (NO CHANGES MADE) MONTREAL CANADIENS (NO CHANGES MADE) NASHVILLE PREDATORS CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGO: MY VERSION: - I wanted to get away from all the golden yellow parody in the NHL, so I chose to give Nashville a more mellow yellow. - I altered the sabre-toothed cat to be more fierce. - The dark color is a really deep greenish blue with I feel contrasts the yellow pretty well. - All in all the changes feel pretty drastic, yet at the same time its all so familiar, I think this change would become very welcome in Tennessee once the bright orange/yellow memory wore off. NEW JERSEY DEVILS (NO CHANGES MADE) NEW YORK ISLANDERS (REVERT TO OLDER COLORS) CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (ONLY CHANGED BACK TO 97/98 SHADE OF BLUE) - I think the darker blue really really brings out the orange over the lighter blue. There's really little else to be said about this classic gem of a logo. NEW YORK RANGERS (NO CHANGES MADE) OTTAWA SENATORS (CHANGE TO TEAMS ALTERNATE AS PRIMARY) CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (ALTERNATE LOGO FROM SENATORS ARCHIVE) - I do not like the current Senators logo. At all. I see what they were going for, but in my opinion, it failed. Meanwhile they have this beauty^ as an alternate. They need to make the switch ASAP. PHILADELPHIA FLYERS (NO CHANGES MADE) - My favorite team!!! Sweeeeeeet logo. PITTSBURGH PENGUINS (REVERT TO 'ROBOPENGUIN' BUT USE BRIGHTER YELLOW) CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (REVERT BACK TO THE ROBO-PENGUIN OF THE 90'S) - Although I really actually do like the skating penguin a whole lot, I feel the infamous robo-penguin is much classier and noble. It was a back and forth on this one. QUEBEC NORDIQUES (TEAM ADDED) (LOGO TWEAKED) ORIGINAL LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: - I thought the original Nordiques logo needed to be touched up slightly. The darker red makes the lighter blue stand out to me. Hopefully to everyone else also. SAN JOSE SHARKS (SWITCH TO 25TH ANNIVERSARY SWIMMING SHARK) CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGO: MY VERSION: - It's hard to go wrong with any of the sharks logos, so I chose to go with the version without a triangle behind. Love these damn logos, top notch. ST. LOUS BLUES CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: - I wanted to go with the lighter blue for the inside, it just felt better than having the darker version. TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (SWITCH TO ALTERNATE LOGO) (COLOR CHANGE) CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGO: (ALTERNATE FROM LIGHTNING LOGO ARCHIVE) MY VERSION: - Didn't like the use of such a dark blue when I felt a lighter, more "electric" blue would look GREAT with a black jersey. (The letters and bolt(s) on the inside will stay white. Really brings the team identity to life. TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS (NO CHANGES MADE) VANCOUVER CANUCKS (SWITCH TO JOHNNY CANUCK LOGO AS PRIMARY) CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: (ALTERNATE FROM CANUCKS LOGO ARCHIVE) - It does take a little getting used to seeing this guy in all his glory on the front of a jersey (pictures do exist), but it's well worth it, and I think it would finally give all Vancouver fans what they really wanted all along. WASHINGTON CAPITALS (MODIFIED ALTERNATE 'WEAGLE' LOGO AS PRIMARY) CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: SOURCE LOGO: (ALTERNATE 'WEAGLE' FROM CAPITALS LOGO ARCHIVE) MY VERSION: - This really could be my favorite creation from the whole set. I was back and forth on if I should keep the sticks or not, but they balance out the 3 stars that represent the D.C. flag. WINNIPEG JETS (COLORS ALTERED) CURRENT LOGO USED BY TEAM: MY VERSION: - I just don't believe the grey is necessary. Although it doesn't look bad on the logo as a whole, the current jerseys they use (beautiful in my eyes) don't really call for grey to be used, so I decided to make a more jersey friendly version. Don't miss out on the white outline that makes the whole thing look great on, you guessed it, those b e a u t i f u l jerseys!!! That's it (for now) Let me know what you guys think!!!!!!

    High School Logo Redesign

Working on a redesign of my High School Soccer Program's crest. We designed the old one eight years ago, taking the flying 'E' that the rest of the school uses and just incorporating it into crest form. Our mascot is the 'Engineers', not a common one by any means. In the past a train has been used as a logo, but we have had difficulty in finding a genuinely good looking train to use. With that said, we want to have the train aspect come across in some way. This image shows our old crest... This is the concept for the new logo... Added the tracks to represent the mascot and train tracks that run all through our county. The star is for the regional championship that both our boys and girls teams have won. Looking to move away from the flying 'E' to a more clean look. Not locked in on any of this, just looking for thoughts ideas and suggestions.

NBA Project 32 - Timberwolves Update

I teased this series in my Bucks modernization concept, but now the series is ready to go. I've plotted out a redesign of the NBA, with the intended goal of breaking up the monotony of most of the league's looks by placing its aesthetics between 70's/80's tradition and 90's crazy. These concepts also buck with current trends in the league, going back to the pre-Rev30 material (allowing for proper twill lettering, pinstripes, split numbers, and effects on the fabric) and having college lines on the courts (as I feel they add more color to the key). Also, a big thank you to Conrad for his NBA Font collection, as without it this project would have been impossible. Completed teams: Atlanta Hawks Boston Celtics Brooklyn Nets Charlotte Hornets (V2) (V3) Chicago Bulls Cleveland Cavaliers Dallas Mavericks (V2) Denver Nuggets (Court V2) (V2) Detroit Pistons (Road V2) Houston Rockets (V1.5) (V2) (V3) Indiana Pacers Kansas City Diesels (Alt V2) Los Angeles Clippers (V2) Los Angeles Lakers Memphis Grizzlies Miami Heat (V2) (V3) (V3.5) Milwaukee Bucks (Alt V2) (V2) Minnesota Timberwolves (V2) New Orleans Pelicans New York Knicks (V2) Oklahoma City Thunder (V2) (V3) Orlando Magic (V2A) (V2B) (V3) Philadelphia 76ers (V2) (V3) Phoenix Suns (V2) Portland Trail Blazers Sacramento Kings (Road V2) San Antonio Spurs San Francisco Warriors (V2) Seattle Supersonics (V2) Toronto Raptors (Alt V2) Utah Jazz (V2) (V3) Washington Federals Division Alignment and Design Compilations So, without any further delay, here's the first team in the league, the Atlanta Hawks! ATLANTA HAWKS When the Atlanta Hawks released their new secondary logo, I immediately leaped on the idea of a fauxback/neo-retro look for them (much like what I wish the Falcons would do). I started out by going back to the red and yellow color scheme, as red solo looked far too plain and black really cluttered up the look (also, I believe that any team that added black in the 90's when they did not have black before should remove all black from their color scheme, i.e. Calgary Flames, Cincinnati Reds, 1998-2011 New York Mets, etc.). So, I simply placed a yellow outline on the new secondary, adjusted the 2003 All-Star Game alternate logo to be the new secondary, and removed the beveling from the "ATL" logo. The court is a retro-styled look, with the new pac-hawk logo at center court, yellow detailing along with the red paint, and the retro Hawk within the 3-point line. Uniforms While I do appreciate the 'Nique-era look, I was not enough of a fan to bring it back full time. So, I decided to hybrid their late-70's look with their early 2000's look. I maintained the current lettering and number font, as it is my favorite part of their current look. Crew neck collars return, as they enhance the retro feel and the Hawks used them up until the Rev30 was introduced. The result is a fusion of classic sensibilities with some modern touches. The first alternate is a yellow alt based on this look (which was easy to recreate, thanks to Conrad's "Highlight Factory" font) that also justifies using the "ATL" script (because of the size issues related to the striping pattern), and the second is a throwback to the 'Nique era (they were too iconic to leave out of the redesign). Up next, the Boston Celtics!

    Yeag's NHL Redesign

Hey guys, So I'm still pretty new to posting my work and stuff but I've decided to take a whack at a large project, so I picked a redesign of the NHL. I'll be posting each teams new jerseys and logos as I finish them. Some teams will be partially or completely untouched depending on how much I like their current sets. I'm using MS paint so obviously I don't have a lot of breathing room, but I'll try my best. I also haven't been able to find any good name and number templates that are compatible with MS Paint so that's why they look like crap on all my jerseys. But anyway, C&C is greatly appreciated and I can't wait to see what you guys think.
