  1. Although there are has been an influx of baseball concepts on here lately, I thought I would finally throw my hat into the ring. I have been working on this project in my free time for a while and I finally have something to show you guys. Basically, I wanted to reign in the alternate overload in baseball and give each team a great look, some will get pretty drastic changes and some teams will get some pretty minimal changes. Each team will get a home uniform, road uniform, alternate uniform/jersey, and a batting practice jersey where I chose to have some fun and go outside of the box or look back at some historical looks. I have the National League done and I'm going to start with a team from the NL West today and I'll do my best to get a new team up every day or two. So without further ado, I have the Arizona Diamondbacks. I think most of us would agree the Diamondbacks uniforms are a big mess with way too much going on, to say the least. One thing I think they did get right was the great red, black, and turquoise color scheme, it definitely has a Southwestern feel to it. My concept for the Diamondbacks is simple and modern, drawing inspiration from past Diamondbacks' uniforms. The primary home uniform is white, the road is gray, the alt is red and BP is black. So here it is. As always, Id love to hear what everyone thinks an C&C is definitely welcome. Thanks for taking a look and the Padres are on the way tomorrow.
  2. So, now that I got the Miami Marlins off my chest, I figured I should tweak the other teams that have been bothering me too. Nothing bothered me as much as the Marlins, but it doesn't take much to aggravate me...sadly. The next team I wanted to put a paint brush to was San Diego. Like most, I feel they should be going back to the brown and yellow colors. I on the other hand want to put more emphasis on the brown and keep the yellow to a minimum. I have no issue with their current word scripts and uniform style, I just feel the brown and yellow would look better. So with that in mind, here is my version of the Padres. The away has a grey that has very slight orange tint to it, just to give it some warmth with the brown and yellow. Then there is the Home alternate. The big trend of having the logo over the heart/left side is not missed on the Padres. I'm currently working on a brown top alternate for the road as well as a new main logo that will combine a few era's logos with the swinging friar as the center piece. How does that look? C+C appreciated.

  4. MLB Tweaks (Final Logos)

Hey everyone, For a while I've enjoyed to think about what kind of changes I would make to uniforms across MLB, just being into design as I am. I've always wanted to make a thread of my own here after seeing so many great ones, but never thought I had the computer skills, nor did I really think hand-drawns would show up great online. After my Twins concept though, I got to thinking and decided to at least try to flesh it out into an entire MLB-wide series. Things are probably gonna slow down quite a bit from me once school starts back up, but at least this is worth starting. This series is just gonna be my fixes to things across each of the uniforms, I'm gonna save major redesigns for maybe a future series... So here it goes starting off, naturally, with the Arizona Diamondbacks: Logos -Brick red, Black, and Teal are now the main colors. It's a good time for Arizona to move on to a more modern scheme. -The teal has been adjusted a bit, it's a little greener to look more like a color inspired by Native Navajo jewelry rather than Tron electric blue. -Caps are both the A logo, just because I'm personally not a fan of the D snake. -Both caps have the diamond snakeskin pattern on the brim to still achieve the two-tone look. -Sand-ish colors are still present in the identity, as the home is now cream, and the away is full-on the sand color. Uniforms -I like the way the 'D-backs' wordmark looks, besides the fact that it says 'D-backs'. I had to compromise and put the 'A' on the home. -The diamond pattern is on the back of all jerseys, which makes sense for a team named the Diamondbacks. -No pattern on the pants. It isn't really necessary. -I decided to keep the cut piping, but cut it at an angle on the jerseys, like the pants. The colors are also now teal/red/teal on the jerseys because I feel that looks more Arizona and less Tron. -As said before, the away is now sand. I didn't hate the concept of dark gray, just didn't think it fit the team, especially with teal. -Snake patch is on all jerseys. -Both alternates can be home and road. -Some may not like this, but all accessory elements are interchangeable. Things like hats, belts, and socks can be worn in different combinations with different jerseys. So, of course, let me know what you all think! All comments/criticisms welcome!
  5. the St Louis Cardinals are my baseball team and they have always looked good to great as far as I'm concerned. However I was pretty disappointed when they emoted the blue hats to "alternate" status a few years ago and added the unnecessary cream St Louis alt. If the Cardinals must messa round with their look, I would like to see them do something like this: There aren't many huge changes here. The biggest changes are probably the addition of an updated Sluggerbird sleeve patch, and the tweaked logos with yellow eyes as a throwback to previous iterations of the Birds on the Bat. I also removed the front numbers because I think baseball uniforms generally look better without them. I love the way the Cardinals have looked throughout their history when they wear a blue cap with a red bill, so it has become the primary cap and a red bird-on-bat cap would be the home Sunday cap. The changes are pretty straight forward and simple, but I think they do improve upon a look that is already very very good. Please let me know what you thing, I would love to ear some C&C. Thanks for taking the time to have a look.
  6. Cincinnati Reds Logo Concept

Finally found some time to make concepts again and was playing around with a new tool I downloaded to mod my concept making software and came up with a Cincinnati Reds logo I thought looked worth sharing on here. It's a little simple and at first I thought it looked like a tourism poster or a secondary 2015 ASG logo. However, it is not in their actual colors, because I am planning to use it in my MLB redesign (which is NOT dead, just haven't had much time). Anyway, I'll stop blabbing and let the logo speak for itself. Thanks for reading!, ECUFan25
  7. Cincinnati Reds Logo Set Redesign

Hey everybody, just got to making a baseball on Illustrator today. It turned out pretty well, so I decided to make a concept out of it. It looked like it would be best with the Reds, but this could go with many teams. Just did a quick logo set redesign for the Cincinnati Reds. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I'm not sure I like the font i'm using right now for the "open" roundel-style logos. Let me know as well if you have any font suggestions. This was just a spur-of-the-moment redesign, so I don't plan on making any uniforms (Plus, I know little about baseball.) Suggestions for improvement appreciated.
  8. Oops. http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/13114874/notebook-obtained-lines-shows-pete-rose-bet-baseball-player-1986 Scumbag. Hope his last defenders are finally shamed into silence.
  9. I'll admit, I was stuck on this one for a while...but here goes the Ohio duo, starting with the red legged. The home set...I'd mentioned a few sets ago that I'd be dipping into my TATC roots...and like that guy who don't like mens no more, I...HAVE...DELIVERED. Figured I'd give em red pants, as a nod to the uniform the Reds wore when they hosted the big leagues' first night game. The main highlight, of course, is Mr. Redlegs wearing a jersey...of himself wearing a jersey...of himself wearing a jersey. The road set, meanwhile, is another one that took inspiration from basketball, the Jerry Lucas-Oscar Robertson era Cincinnati Royals to be specific (before the home set I'd decided on, I was considering a Bob Huggins era Cincinnati hoops-inspired set) Going forward without Chief Wahoo was what held this set up...I finally put together a feather C I was satisfied enough with to trot out. Much as I like Chief Wahoo...and loathe the block C...I figured this would be a good opportunity to test out an attempt at the best of both worlds, thus this feather C that's on the caps and left sleeves. Another basketball-inspired set here, in this case the 70s Cavs. Brought the old Cleveland script back...and for anyone who wants to harp about the cap C not matching the script's C, when the hell has the Cubs' C ever matched any of their Chicago scripts? Or the Reds' C for that matter? A small note, I'd considered using tan in this set...but then remembered the Twins adding gold. Damn you Twins.
