    Your Favorite Teams?

I see alot of people on here have various and seemingly unrelated teams in their sigs. So for those that have teams that don't necessarily go by geographical location, how did you choose? My teams are pretty easy, although I don't have them anymore, I'm from NY so I'm a NY fan and now I live in Tampa so I root for the Tampa teams with the exception of the Devil Rays. How about everyone else?

Hey Guys! I have returned to the forums to announce the Northeastern Pennsylvania Hockey League. The NPHL is a group of dedicated hockey fans that want to play in a league but there is just one problem...they can't skate! So we decided to play a form of "Dek Hockey" on outside basketball courts. 3 on 3, no goalies, street puck, and we use the small skill nets for a goal. The uniforms will consist of a T-shirt, basketball shorts and hockey gloves. (And obviously sticks!) The NPHL will premiere the Summer of 2019 and right now we are in the phase of coming up with the team names. We have TWO teams as of right now and we would like to have about SIX. Hopefully as this thread goes on we will create a phenomenal looking league with the help of CCSLC! Alright! Up first is the League Logo. Its is the state of Pennsylvania with a hockey stick in negative space. The tip of the hockey blade is touching North East Pennsylvania. https://imgur.com/a/yt0Sz As Always, C&C is Welcome! Hope You Guys Like This One! Spoiler: The LAKE ARIEL STAGS are next!

    Sports Font Database

My not sure that the concept section is the best place to start this thread but I figured it would be more useful here then anywhere else on this forum. If it should be somewhere else, like in the sports logos section, Mods please move it to the appropriate place then. On to the thread... This is a database of fonts used by sports teams and leagues. This is NOT a "name this font" thread like this one. If you need to know the name of a font post it there. How the thread is organized... 1. There will be post that are sport/league specific (ex. one post might just have Pro Football, one might have Colleges, etc). 2. The team's font will be listed like this: 'Team Name''Year Introduced' '(Name of Font At It Would Appear In A Program)' - 'Link to Download Font' Example: California Golden Bears 2013 (Golden Bear) - https://fontsbyconrad.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/college-misc-fonts-pack-4/ 3. $$$ before the link means I was unable to find a free version on that font to download so you have to pay for it. 4. The fonts could be from a logo, uniform number, wordmark, etc. 5. If there is no year, then I didn't know the year it was introduced 6. If there is no parentheses with the font name, then it is the exact same name as the team name part. If you know a team font that isn't included or an error is posted, please post with appropriate information. Obviously there are a lot of links to Conrad's sports fonts site so thanks again to him for making all the fonts that he does. Do not use fonts that were created for personal use only for other reasons. Finally, fonts like Serpentine, City Bold, Aachen, and Copperplate are way over used in sports. NFL-CFL NBA MLB-MiLB NHL-AHL-ECHL Soccer NCAA-Colleges Nike Adidas Under Armour-Russell Athletic-Warrior Sports Rawlings-Richardson Caps-Other *****EDIT (7/30/16): Sorry but Conrad's fonts are no longer available for use.***** http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/108718-what-happened-to-conrads-fonts/?do=findComment&comment=2633407

    High School Helmet Decal

Hello, I am looking for some inspiration for developing a Helmet Decal for a local school. The team is called the railroaders and the only colors they use are blue and white. The Coach really wants the word railroaders to be incorporated somewhere in the design, I am not a huge fan of big script letters on helmets so I went with a think smaller block font. He also wants to ensure that people understand that railroaders are the people that worked on building the railroads not people who worked on trains, so I am debating doing some sort of mascot depicting a railroad worker. I guess I am looking for help in which way I should take this logo. It is not apart of a rebrand just simply redesigning the helmet logo because a new coach was hired. What they had in previous seasons is below. This is just a rough mock of what I think may look good any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated!

    Stags Inline Hockey logo

Hey Guys! It's been awhile but I'm back with an inline hockey logo! I took the Hershey Bears logo as inspiration mainly because of how mean and intimidating the logo looked. I chose a "Deer" because where the team is located in Northeast Pennsylvania, there is an abundance of white-tailed deer. Of course, I had to use black and gold because...well, i just really like those colors for a hockey team! (Go Pens!) Hope you guys like this one! C&C Welcome!
  7. Something I've wondered for a long time. Is it possible for teams from the major (North American) sports leagues in the same city to share one identity? Not asking should or would it happen, but could it happen? If one ownership group owned of all a city's major teams, or if the ownership groups across the different teams in the same city really wanted do it would it be allowed on a legal level? For example. Ted Leonsis owns the Washington Capitals and Wizards. If he really wanted both these clubs to have the same name, could he rebrand the Wizards as the Washington Capitals Basketball Club. Or vice versa renaming the Caps the Washington Wizards Hockey Club? Or let's say the owners of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins all came together because they really wanted the city's teams to have one name. Let's assume the Steelers' identity wins out, and the owners of the Pirates and Penguins gave it the green light. Could they become The Pittsburgh Steelers Baseball & Hockey Clubs? I know at one point New York had both the baseball and football Giants, but they both pretty much had their own identities despite the same name. Mainly with the colors and logos each team used. Similar situation in St. Louis with the Cardinals being both a baseball and football team. *If I'm wrong about this point please correct me and show me proof of branding being shared across different pro sports* I mean same name, same colors, same logo (primary logo at least), one city, different leagues. Is it possible?
  8. The Cleveland Browns. No, not a pity party post, wallowing in woes and self sorrow. Nor will it be a delusional rambling of what we need to do to be Super Bowl champions. What I intend is to simply present a fan’s perspective comparison of past and present culture; a look into what once was a prideful, blue-collar, barking brigade of Cleveland football fans and the environment they embraced -VS- what it has transformed into in its present day. Finally, I’ll get into a look ahead (or back? to the future?) at what changes can be made to once again flourish as a football city (again, only culturally, I promise). There will be images past and present! Historical logos! Concept logos! Concept uniform designs! Each based on what I personally like/liked, want to see revived, and want in the future. Please, please, please feel free to join in, add your own personal concept art, logos, memories, critiques, opinions, etc! I only ask that everyone be respectful with any text or images you post. Also, bear with me as this is my very first attempt at presenting a topic
  9. UAA has used the same classic, tribal art influenced, logo since 1973 (REF). As stated, the logo is classic; but I was wondering - What if UAA would update their look? What would a Seawolf look like if it were modernized? What is the basis for the Seawolves name? In Haida and Tlingit culture; a seawolf is an enormous creature that preys upon pilot and killer whales. It as four legs with fins, a head similar to a wolf, and a tail like a fish or a whale or sometimes a prehensile tail. (This is not a wolf with an eye patch ) Before becoming the Seawolves, UAA's nickname was the Sourdoughs in reference to old sailors..... good upgrade. After researching historic and contemporary Haida and Tlingit depictions of seawolves I got to drawing out what a new Seawolves logo might look like, so here is my concept logo for the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves: Newest idea: 1/15/18 1/16/18 1/17/18 C&C Apreciated
  10. Hey everyone, It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted on these boards, largely in part because life has a way of getting in the way, but I’ve been quietly lurking. Some of you have probably seen me active on Dribbble and Instagram, and probably know that I’ve been working on my personal football league redesign, a thread that I received a lot of positive feedback on in 2011. Yes, I’m resurrecting it (although it wasn’t really dead in the first place). As we’re learning and developing our skills as designers, we tend to become better than the work we produce yesterday. I've been working on developing identities for each team on and off for the past 6 years. That being said, I’m excited to bring to you “The UFL Project”, a 2.0 if you will, a reimagining of 32 fictional football teams I created when I was 11. Named the “Ultimate Football League”, my goal for this project is to bring the brand to life through visuals, custom logos and typefaces, and to make each individual team a brand of their own. I have been running the Ultimate Football League for the past 25 seasons (which equates to about 10-ish years), with complete rosters and histories. I’ve ran the league through the Franchise Modes of Madden 06, 09, and now 12. Feedback is always appreciated, but I’m not looking for critiques of league alignment, storylines, etc. Most of these decisions are based off of the history of the league and the original teams 32 that I started with. I have a lot that I’m excited to share, but for now, here’s the league logo. EDIT: If anyone knows of a solution for the quality loss in the embedded image, let me know! RATIONALE Think of the UFL as this alternate-universe football league that takes the place of the NFL in the football world. Other popular leagues still exist, but the entire football lineage from the NCAA to the pros has been completely redirected towards the Ultimate Football League. Major entities like Nike and ESPN are very much alive, while some smaller companies that may hold sponsorships and naming rights are completely fictional to fit with the storyline and lineage of the league and its owners. The timeline of the league is also based on seasons, not years, due to the fact that multiple seasons may be simulated within a year. However, based on the 25 seasons to the date, we can infer that this league started somewhere between 1991-92. Currently, the league is simulated in the Madden 12 Franchise Mode (previously Madden 08, 09), which means it isn’t uncommon for ridiculous scores and stats to pop up (CPU users don’t tend to show sportsmanship in blowout games). It also ins’t uncommon for dynasties to win 4 championships in a row, or appear in 8 consecutively. When instances like these happen, I try and incorporate it into the storyline as much as possible. It’s more fun that way. STORYLINE The Ultimate Football League is an American football league made up of 32 teams spread out across the United States. The league is split up into two conferences – The Great West conference and The Great East conference – and each conference has four division of four teams each. The regular season is 17 weeks long, with 16 games and a bye week, and is concluded with a tournament-style playoff structure in which the four division winners and two wildcard teams in each conference play in a single-elimination game format, with the final two teams playing in the UFL Championship. The team with the most UFL Championship wins is the Chicago Dragons (11), and the most recent champion is the Los Angeles Aztecs, defeating the Cincinnati Vultures 30-7 in UFL Championship 24. There are still 13 teams that have yet to reach the championship.

    Scrubs in Stars' Jerseys

Simply put ... the thread is of scrubs (or lesser caliber players) in jersey numbers a same team where an All-Star or HOF made that same number their own. Here are a few examples from the NBA ... E.C. Coleman, New Orleans Jazz Sidney Green; San Antonio Spurs Steve Kuberski; Boston Celtics Cazzie Russell; Los Angeles Lakers Rowland Garrett; Chicago Bulls.
  15. I wasn't sure where to put all of these, so I figured I'd start a new thread of small little finds I found while browsing the 'net -- and specifically, right now -- Getty Images. Most of these are small oddities, difficult finds and what not. I was going to open this up to stuff I found in other sports, but basketball and NBA history in the 70s and 80s has recently captured my attention. Anyways ... some of my finds: GORGEOUS Color vs. Color in Baltimore against the Bullets and Warriors (also note it's Ladies Night!) Royals vs. Warriors game in Phoenix's Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The caption says it was a 1967 pre-season game. Note Rick Barry in the old-style Warriors' jersey. He never wore these in the regular season as 'The City' jerseys were introduced on Opening Night 1967. Larry Nance wearing #6 in the half season right after he was traded to Cleveland from Phoenix. Similarly, Kevin Johnson wore #11 in Phoenix for the half season after he was traded from Cleveland to Phoenix. Interesting font and styling of Tom McMillen's name on this Hawks' jersey. Not sure why the underline? Notice the name on the back of Dave Stallworth of the Bullets. The name was pretty long so the "st" of Stallworth is white to not clash with the blue stripe.

  18. NBA teams are taking a minimalist approach on new logo designs. Therefore, I wanted to re-design the primary logo for the San Antonio Spurs! I mainly wanted to simply the iconic spur by blending the stem with the star. I also wanted to personalize the backdrop badge to represent the city by incorporating the Alamo. i'd love to get your feedback! Go Spurs Go!

    Grateful Dead Design (Request)

Hey guys! I saw some Grateful Dead logos recently and I thought that they were easy to plop a roundel logo in the skull and some colors on the sides so I thought I could make a quick concept with them. They are just pictures, not signatures or wallpapers, but I thought a good kick of nostalgia for the older folks might do some good. If you know of a team with a roundel logo or any round logo, just put a comment down below! I can get the approximate colors for every team in the NHL, NBA, NFL,MLS, EPL and MLB. I will try my best to find the right colors for foreign teams. If you would like to request some designs made for you, feel free to comment in this format: Team Name Preferred Logo Any other requirements (Certain colors, throwbacks, etc.) This is definitely not an only-requests post. I would LOVE any constructive criticism in the comments and will take any suggestions into consideration. Please cut me some slack if they're not Hi-def 9000p, I'm just using Microsoft 1997 with Microsoft Paint. I don't have the money or the material to make my first-time concepts like a professional graphics designer would. (but I sure wish I could!) I cannot guarantee when your request will be done, because I don't know how many requests I will get. The Grateful Dead designs that you see above you were invented by me. I have seen designs like this before, so I'm not saying I'm original or anything. NBA Changes 2016-17 Season

I guess it's that time again -- looking forward to the uniform and logo changes in the NBA for the upcoming 2016-17 season ... THE LAST YEAR OF ADIDAS! As has been twirling around Twitter, UniWatch and the mothership (thanks to Conrad) ... the "rumored" or "semi-confirmed" changes for 16-17 include Sacramento, Utah and Detroit. Not sure if this graphic confirms a change in the Celtics' primary logo? But, I'll post it here for speculation ...

    [HAND DRAWN] Fictional Sports League

This is the National Zoneball League. Zoneball is a very simple game. It is a mixture of Rugby, Soccer, American Football and Australian Rules Football to a certain extent. The game is played in 45 minute halves, then the teams switch sides. There is only one objective to this game and that is to get the ball through the goal posts. There are no fouls. Literally anything goes. The only time there is a stoppage of play is when the ball goes out of bounds. Why Zoneball? There are 8 zones on each side of the field. Each one being worth a different point amount. The front middle zones are worth 2 points, the front end zones are worth 3 points. The back middle zones are worth 5 points and the back end zones are worth 7 points. If you kick it or throw it threw the goal posts from that zone then your team gets that many points. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. The neutral zone at mid field is where the two teams battle for the ball. Since you can not score unless you advance the ball past the neutral zone to the opposing zones, the battle in the neutral zone is an integral part of the game. Once again to reiterate, You can only score once you're team is in the opposing zones, the only stoppage of play is when the ball goes out of bounds, giving the other team a throw in. Each point value is determined by where you score, it doesn't matter how you score, just where you score from. There are no fouls. Anything goes. So far, The National Zoneball league is comprised of 4 associations: United States Association, United Kingdom Association, Canadian Association and Oceanian Association. Each Association has its own season, playoffs and champion. The champion of each association will then join together in a 4 team bracket to determine who is the true champion of the game. Fantasy Hockey that looks legit

Just finished an 8 team fantasy hockey league using head to head scoring and wanted to share some of the work that I did to bring realism to fantasy sports.
