When the Minnesota Wild released their stadium series uniform, I thought it could be the excellent basis for a new set. I removed the white yoke (which really doesn't look good for the Wild, no matter the precedent), used the red number/white outline arrangement, and added the stripes to the pants. The white version has a green yoke, for better color balance. The other change I made will probably be controversial, namely the removal of the wheat color. I like the way in which the green and red contrast with each other, and I've always felt that the wheat color muddied it up. White makes it look sharper to me. It may be a departure from tradition for the team, but I think it works. This may be the first of a new series for me. C+C is greatly appreciated!
Earlier this month someone on the Uni Watch site made a comment about wanting to see a curling t-shirt or sweater for the Uni Watch t-shirt of the month. So with a bit of time off during the holiday season I decided to play around with the idea. Started off with MSPaint/Paint.net friendly version of Sparky Chewbarky's Faux-Knit hockey sweater template, and then did some cutting and pasting and rudimentary drawing. Made up a few patches and crests for the sweater and here's what I have. Included the front patches because they might be small to see on the sweater. One of the old programs I've used in the past doesn't work on Windows 10, which I reluctantly had got this year since XP isn't supported for some of the things the wife needs, so I'm trying a newer program along with the usual MSPaint/Paint.net Concept is a little rough but I'd had enough by the time I'd got as far as you see. Sparky, if you have any problems with the template modification I will gladly remove this post.
This is only my second concept and the first one I'm posting. I'd love to hear ways you think this design could improve. I always felt that despite having some exceptional logos, the Buffalo Sabers have always had lackluster unis. He's my concept for a new alternate jersey, because basically anything is better than their current one. I drew some inspiration from their vintage looking alternate from 2010-2011 and tried to combine in with a sleeker look from their buffa-slug days. I came up with the crest by combining a former shoulder patch, which I slightly re-colored and placed atop their traditional golden ring. Hope you dig it - Nick Empirical Designs
Over the past few months when I was looking at my plethora of soccer jerseys, I started to notice somethings hidden elements that you couldn't see when the jersey was being worn. The most interesting I thought was writing inside of the crests. For example, Australia has "Never say Never" and PSV Eindhoven has "eendracht maakt macht" or unity is strength. It's not limited to soccer though as there are obvious ones in hockey like the flags inside the Hurricanes sweater and the Keyboard inside the Predators sweater. I was wondering if anyone else found this interesting and if they know or have found out any of these hidden elements.
