    OKC Thunder

OKC's Statement uniforms could make for an interesting and unique look if they were to incorporate that design into a full set. I put together a few jerseys to see what that could look like. What do you think? EDIT: Here are a couple alternate white looks. (Special thanks to @R3G for sharing your template!)
  2. A while back, I took a stab at an Oklahoma City Thunder concept. The basic idea of the concept was to combine simple, bold elements with more detailed and technical designs derived from Western and Native American culture. I thought that in principle my ideas were good, but the whole thing was a bit rushed. I ended up making a lot of execution mistakes that didn't make the set look the greatest. I knew though that with some work I could make the concept really dope. So, I took a look back at what I had done and created Mark II of my OKC Thunder concept. First, we start with the marks. I kept the basic ideas from my first concept (the Oklahoma Sunrise pattern, the monogram logo), refining them further. The biggest change is the shape and alignment of the letters in the monogram. In the first concept, while the elements being inside of the O was a clean and simple, a lot of people had a hard time distinguishing what was what in the logo. This time, I opted for a long, more horizontal O and a big K, which gives the logo a clearer and bolder look. In addition, the C is much more noticeable and part of the logo than before. Like before, the logo has Oklahoma Sunrise and plain white variants. And now, for the uniforms. The biggest problem with the original uniforms was that the Oklahoma Sunrise striping pattern on the side panels was too thin and created a vibrating effect when viewed from far away. In addition, I didn't like the way that the wordmark and the logos on the shorts looked. Therefore, I updated the striping pattern, making it bolder and more pronounced. The uniform typeface is different, using a bolder font with more subtle Western styling. I also changed the shorts logo accordingly throughout the uniforms. Thanks for taking a look! If you could leave some comments and critiques it would be much appreciated!

    NBA Redesign Concepts (Celtics 4/27)

As a Jazz fan who's not a huge fan of the current design (minus the City Edition jersey), I figured I would try my hand at redesigning the team. Changing the colors to dark purple, teal, and copper, the team resurrects a snowflake logo. The Association uniform is off-white, the Icon uniform purple, the Statement uniform teal, and the new City Edition uniform a gradient going from pewter blue to dark blue. C&C welcome!
  4. Here we go again..... It's been awhile since I dabbled with the Thunder's look. I'm starting off slow this time with a concept board. It shows several different configurations of bison/cloud looks. The key ideas/thoughts/buzz words here are; power - maleficent - foreboding. Let me know what you think.
  5. One of the teams I see the most concepts for on the internet is the Oklahoma City Thunder, and for good reason. They have one of the best color schemes in the NBA, but never seem to utilize it to their full potential. I've had a few ideas for the Thunder floating around in my head for a while, but didn't exactly know how to implement them. I wanted to bring in some Native American themes using the Thunder's color pallete, but not go too too crazy with OKC's unique scheme. When it was announced that Nike would be outfitting the NBA next season, I set to work putting my ideas into reality. For this concept I created a custom tertiary logo for use on the shorts. It is a simple "OKC" monogram in the shape of a roundel. The background of the first version of the logo also shows off a special pattern I developed for the uniforms. Called Kiowa Sunrise, it combines Native American design elements with the OKC color scheme. This pattern is the bread and butter of the uniforms, and is also featured on the background of the first version of the logo. I wanted to keep the uniforms really simple and let the colors really speak for themselves. The uniform is simple plain white and features a blue old west style arching "Thunder" wordmark and sans serif numbers, similar to their current font. The main event really is the Kiowa sunrise elements, on the side panels of the jersey and at the bottom of the shorts. A plain white "OKC" logo is found at the bottom of the shorts. The powder blue away uniforms are the same as the homes with a few differences. White replaces the powder on the Kiowa Sunrise pattern, and a powder "OKC" logo replaces the white one on the bottom of the shorts. A white split "Oklahoma City" also replaces the "Thunder". I must admit, I went pretty out of the box with the alternate jerseys. The Kiowa Sunrise pattern is sublimated over the entire top of the black jersey, with an arched "OKC" over the number. The other big feature on these uniforms is the big logo style Kiowa Sunrise version of the OKC on the shorts. Other than that, the jersey is trimness and pretty stripped back to let the pattern talk. What do you guys think? Any constructive critism/feedback is welcomed.

    OKC Thunder Rebrand

I've been slacking in finishing the Brooklyn Nets uniforms in favor of this. I had three objectives when creating the new logo for OKC. 1. Retain the shield/crest from their current logo (OKC has told Nike they want to keep the crest) 2. Create a unique color palette for the NBA. 3. Tie in thunder/storm elements into the logo without being overly cliche. You know the drill. More logos/uniforms to come.

Sioux Falls Thunder FC | NPSL

Yesterday I saw that the Sioux Falls Thunder FC's logo was put on the mothership. I immediatly thought "that needs to go!" So I thought I'd try my hand at making a soccer crest for them. I had several ideas in my head and whittled them all down to what I have so far. I'm thinking of scrapping that bolt all together and trying to give image to the city name Sioux (arrowhead) Falls (directional stripes that appear to waterfall over an edge). What I need help with is knowing if I'm going in a good direction for this crest or do I need to scrap this and look in another direction? Please add your thoughts. Current: Concept:

    Player Jersey Swaps

This is my first jersey swap and I think it came out well. I figured I'd share it with you all and hopefully receive feedback and areas of focus to make the necessary improvements in future Jersey swaps and photo edits. I will also take a few request so that I can continue to gain experience. Logo credit: Conrad.

    OKC Identity Crisis

Anybody else think that the Oklahoma City Thunder have a bit of an identity crisis going on right now? I mean it is one thing to have a 'throw-back' or alternate uniform but its also another to have a three totally different home uniforms. Am I crazy in thinking this?

    Orlando Thunder Logo

Well, ok - have to admit there is a lot of junk you can find out on the web. And then there are some gems. I finally found a credible, decent-sized picture of the Orlando Thunder helmet logo. I noticed CCSL didn't have it, so I am linking to it/posting here. Also on the host site, there is a ton of reference material for placement, etc. Hopefully, this can be added to CCSL. I'm not 100% worried about the colors as we can have someone clean it up to be accurate. But at least this is close.

    Thunder Logo Revamp/Overhaul

Hello there, C&C are always welcomed. Please tell me what you think i could change or make make better. This is my first logo redesign, I chose the Oklahoma City Thunder seeing as they are in dire need of a new logo. I Kept the original colors but added 2 new ones (Cream and Silver/Grey) from this Flag design i found http://www.50states.com/flag/image/nunst059.gif . i went with a Rounded shape similar to the Wizards logo (used as reference). and from there came up with this. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll29/quinn013mm1/Thunder%20Revamp%202_zpsglsrbr5b.png please tell me what think.

    Oklahoma City Thunder Uniform Concepts

Okay so this is my first attempt at making a uniform concept. I chose the Thunder because they are my favorite sports team. I love the team itself but I am less than pleased with their current look so i decided to dabble a bit with some uniform ideas. I used Microsoft Paint because I'm not very skilled with Photoshop so they won't be the best of quality. I decided to go with a color scheme comprised of Gray, Yellow, and Orange because i felt it fit the idea of "Thunder" and i liked how the colors looked together. The only exception is the Pride jersey where i stuck with the Thunder blue because it is actually the color of the state flag for Oklahoma. Let me know what you guys think, Thanks! 13. Quick and dirty paint concept for the Oklahoma City Thunder. I retained their current colors (minus navy, I feel it's totally unneeded. The current baby blue and orange/red are beautiful, and yellow acts as nice trim.) I tried for something very simple, with an even distribution of colors, while keeping their general look intact. I think I succeeded, but let me know what you think. I may go back and make some changes, so C&C is much appreciated. (P.S. the shorts logo is just a placeholder, but I kind of like the general idea. Just "OKC" italicized with bolts coming out from the "K")

    Russell Westbrook Poster

I have been working on my NFL thread but have taken a quick break to make a poster design concept of Russell Westbrook. Would love to see what you guys think about it! and would love some C&C. Thanks!
  15. So it's happening again. I saw the Thunder playing over the weekend and their logo still makes me cringe and wonder why they haven't upgraded. I know that many people have "become ok with it" but I cannot. This seems to happen every 2 years (2009, 2011)or so for me and I'm a little over due. I've drawn up three logos. One re-hashes an old concept (see 2009 link), the other 2 are new ideas. Check-out the sketches and tell me what you think (it's much easier for me to change things at this point). UPDATE: Colored versions below
  16. After the NBA released this year's uniforms that the 10 teams will where on Christmas day, I was left wanting more. I think so much more creativity could be utilized to make these uniforms memorable. I then decided to mock up my own concepts for this year's Christmas Day games, with a strong Christmas theme displayed in each piece. Shortly after this post, I will just go ahead and post all of the match-ups at one time. I ask that you refrain from focusing on the sleeved/sleeveless discussion as it is not the focus here. Upon request I can also provide my ai. template for the uniforms that I made from scratch, I just ask that in return you give me (tbdaniel15) credit when you use it for your own work. Thanks guys, and enjoy!
  17. Here's the move story: LINK And the name story comes from CCSLC member mfoster via a USPTO filing for the name Oklahoma City Blue. I'm fine with the move, but as far as the name change this organization should have a BS flag thrown at it. Or at least hire a more creative staff!

    New OKC Thunder logo project

Ok, I'm starting (emphasizing "STARTING") on a logo project for the Thunder. Obviously it's not everyone's favorite. I said I could make a better logo, so I'm seeing what I can do. This is just a start and I'm pretty sure you can guess the inspiration for what I'm doing, so here it is: Any thoughts, constructive criticism before I keep going?
  19. The defending Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder have traded last year's Sixth Man of the Year, James Harden, to the Rockets in a multi-player deal. Trade details are as follows. Rockets get- James Harden Daequan Cook Lazar Hayward Cole Aldrich Thunder get- Kevin Martin Jeremy Lamb Two first rounders and a second rounder. Is this the beginning of the death of the small-market team? Can OKC still contend? Who wins this trade? Have at it, ladies and gentlemen.
