Knock off site turns my concept into reality without my permission.

The are selling each jersey for $20. What can I do about this? On one hand its pretty awesome to see that someone liked my design enough to make it into a real jersey but on the other hand they stole my work and are now profiting from it.

You shouldn't be mad you don't own the look the CAVS do

.

It's his jersey design, regardless of what normal logos are on it, he made a concept and someone is using it without his permission as well as most likely without Adidas or Cleveland Cavaliers' permission. Either was the person selling it is in the wrong. But since it already looks like a knockoff site, I'd message them say they used your design, see if they give you a free one and then you have a physical copy of your jersey. In my opinion, that would be pretty neat. Plus the fact that you have made money from the design - albeit in the form of a jersey - it pretty much balances itself out. Now if this look catches on and for whatever reason Adidas wants to use it, then you should look into more legal action.

You can only really be flattered in this situation.

They're using NBA copyrighted material. If you created a mark, or logo that they are using, you could have an issue, but they're not.

Even if they were using a logo you created, it would be damn hard to stop an overseas 3rd party from doing so. The NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB can't even stop this illegal manufacturing

Sorry but each element is part of the Cavaliers history. Since there's nothing original you created, rather simply pieced old pieces together, I'm fairly certain you can't claim intellectual property nor prove that it was your idea. Who's to say someone else didn't think about putting together past elements of the Cavaliers uniforms. Hell it happens all the time in the concepts forum. Doesn't mean it becomes our copyrighted work.

Thanks guys, I figured there wasn't much I could do. Trust me though, i'm very flattered by this. I might actually end up buying me one of each.

Over the last few months I have created close to 20 different variations of this uniform and while these may not be my favorite option, they are definitely the design I am most proud of. They have been tweeted and re-tweeted thousands of times including tweets from Dion Waiters, C.J. Miles and World Star Hip Hop. This uniform along with my Cav's skyline uniform helped me win two categories in the ESPN "Redesign The Cavs" contest which then led to me getting small job offers from 4 different people. I hope to keep creating designs that get this kind of response but this one will be hard to out do.
