PSUcelticsWON95
I recently downloaded a free trial of Adobe Creative Cloud. I've been playing around with this concept in Inkscape, and I tried again a little bit in Illustrator since I got the free trial, and I came up with this concept. The idea I have is Illinois-Joliet Scarlet Tanagers. As you can see, it is a very Penn State-like logo, which I just came up with that idea today, as I was recently trying to create a full-body logo of the bird. It's the first draft, but I'd really like to know what you guys think. Thanks!
TheStig
It's too rightward-shifted. Try centering the bird a little more.
Clintau24
It looks sad. "I believe in Auburn and love it!"

sportsherald
It is a small, rather sad looking bird naturally, with a very round eye. Use the rules of heraldry for more effective sports logos! i.e. keep it simple, use good contrast...
jmoe12
Good start you've got here. The one thing that's holding it back is the beak. The red portion is short, but the white part is long and pointy. Evening that out would make it look much better.
PSUcelticsWON95
So I know which direction to go in, which beak do you like better?
