Truth is if any athlete from any sport back in the day would get crushed, mulched and destroyed in today's athletic environment not even Gretzky who was the best hockey player of the last century would make the CHL today. That is because no matter how anybody puts it today's athletes are to quote Daft Punk "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". NOT THIS GUY AGAIN! Just kidding I think that Gretzky is second best next to Crosby because he is overall a better hockey player and is a franchise player. See with Gretzky you could move him places but he would never be as good as he was in Edmonton with Crosby it's a different story (just wait till he gets traded if he does) until the playoffs where players like Bickell play just as good (does not justify big contract)still points don't matter at the end of the day it's work ethic and Crosby has 100 times more work ethic than "The great one" NOT THIS GUY AGAIN!
