LOGOLYMPIAD - EVENT 8 VOTING

Recommended Posts

I received five entries for this event. One has to be disqualified for not following the black and white rule.

The requirements for this event were:

For this new event in the Logolympiad, you will have to create a league logo for a fictional league called North American Baseball Alliance (NABA).

  • You will have to provide two instances of the logo: one colored version and a black and white version, both on a white background.
  • Put both instances on the same image when submitting.

List your 3 favorites, ranked 1, 2, 3.

The poll closes on Monday, October 6th, 12:30PM Eastern Time (three days from now).

Voting is now over.

3pointtally's entry is disqualified because of the gray on the black and white version of the logo.

Reminder

The voting will be open to public voting once the event is officially over. Once the finalists have been posted in the event thread, voting will be open for 3 days.

Judging is open to all board members registered BEFORE August 1st. This is to ensure no one is voting for themselves under an alternate login.

Members may vote once per event and may not vote for their own entry (I'll know if you did, and will not count your vote). You may not disclose the identity of any of the designers of the entries until voting closes.

Voting will be via the 3-2-1 points method. Voters will be asked to post their choice for a gold, silver and bronze winner. Gold votes are worth 3 points, Silver worth 2, Bronze worth 1.

And it seems the number of entries are dwindling.

It also depends on the type of event. I can tell you that I already have a lot more submissions for Event 9 than I had for this event.

Logos are, by trade, more difficult to execute than designing jerseys (at least, to me). With a jersey template, it's much easier to "fill in" than to start from scratch.

I would say that Pollux is right on the logos -- it's a lot simpler to create uniforms or fill in something that is predefined, rather than create a logo entirely from scratch with little guidance. I'm glad to see some solid work in this small batch, though.
