South of South Street
Its been awhile but here is my concept for a Soccer only stadium for the DC United in the Buzzard Point area of DC adjacent to the Anacostia River. The design is for a 24,000 seat place that had deep overhangs and lots of space to see the pitch from the concourse area.http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w487/Ambitarch/DCUnitedStadiumext01jpg_zpsdc26ad13.jpghttp://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w487/Ambitarch/DCUnitedStadiumInt05_zps30b5f50b.jpghttp://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w487/Ambitarch/DCUnitedStadiumInt01_zpsc12558a8.jpghttp://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w487/Ambitarch/DCUnitedStadiumext04_zpsdd9240eb.jpghttp://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w487/Ambitarch/DCUnitedStadiumext03_zpsb0df94b7.jpghttp://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w487/Ambitarch/DCUnitedStadiumInt06_zpsf96b181a.jpghttp://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w487/Ambitarch/DCUnitedStadiumInt04_zpsc6aa1d8d.jpghttp://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w487/Ambitarch/DCUnitedStadiumext02_zpsc1bff598.jpgComment are always welcome!-South of South Street
kewp80
Very cool man! What program did you use to make this? Google Sketch-Up or something like that? I've always wanted to try and do something like this. I'm sure it's real time consuming though. Cardinals -- Rams -- Blues -- Tigers -- Liverpool Check out my music! davidmiller5
That looks great. I also looked through the other stadiums in your file, and they are great. I especially love your Vikings' stadium with the extensions that mimic a viking boat. Fantastic job. (The only one I didn't like was the new Arrowhead.) nas1787
I love seeing these stadium concepts here on the boards. I don't know what it is about conceptual renderings, but they get me every time.As for the stadium itself, it looks quite nice, and a definite upgrade over RFK, but given the stadium arms race currently taking place in MLS, I think it leaves a bit to be desired. Sporting Park, RBA, along with the plans for Orlando and an upgraded BMO all offer a little bit more. I'd like to see a more robust roof and interesting facade. But, that being said, you're talent is clearly evident, and I would love to be able to learn how to use AutoCAD to create something similar. Seems like years of practice though.
PrimaPrime
This design looks pretty solid! I'd love to see some of those ideas integrated into their new stadium.

marble21
Is the structure on this image press boxes? Would that not mean people sitting to the side at the back of it not being able to see the nearest goal?Just a minor critique on what is an excellently thought out and then executed and presented concept. South of South Street
Good call. Those seats would be 1/2 price.

More to come soon too.
