Nah, you should root for United. We're good and close-ish. Kind of.

Don't support NYCFC, they're already going to be annoying enough with the support of NYC.

I have recently become an MLS fan and since there is no team near Nashville, I figured I should ask what teams are good picks.

Atlanta is going to get a team in 2017 which is closer than the other teams so maybe you can wait for them.

If you don't have a team local to you, I'd suggest just watching as many games as possible for the first month or two of the next season. By then one team will probably stand out to you over all the others. That will become your team.

You can't force yourself to like a team...it will just come.

This is a question for which I couldn't find an answer, too. I'm normally rooting for New York's teams but I hate Manchester City and the Red Bull franchises. Not to mention that the least also are a New Jersey team. My favourite team by now, if I had to state one, would be the Crew. Orlando has some potential to become one of my favourite clubs in the league though.

I'm a simple person, I have a pixelated David Beckham as profile photo since 2010.

Nah, New York City FC.

The real NY club. Everybody loves New York.

I would rather do NYCFC I root for real teams that are not named after a sponser

Technically not true. The City in the Clubs name is NOT for NYC but for the City ownership group that also owns ManCity and Melbourne City. So yeah, same deal as with Red Bull.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. It IS for New York City. "City FC" was one of the names trademarked before Mancester City became involved; we might have ended up with "City" even if another ownership group had won the bidding.

It was City before Manchester came along, it'll be New York City long after they sell their interest in the club.
