Who will be No. 1: The 2015 NFL Draft Thread

Well with 4 teams in the hunt for the No. 1 pick in 2015, the Bucs, Raiders, Jaguars, and Jets, and possibly the Falcons it's time to start a draft thread. Granted I know Free Agency hasn't occurred so i'm taking a shot in the dark at what teams need now. IMO the order will go like this:

  1. Raiders
  2. Jets
  3. Jaguars
  4. Buccaneers

The Raiders need everything, the Jets need a QB, the Jags have a solid D-Line, but the O-Line could use some help, and the Bucs need a QB and a new offensive line.

If the Buccaneers drafted a QB in the 1st round, I pray they draft Marcus Mariota and not Winston. Too much problems with Winston.

Mariota could potentially fall to the Buccaneers at 4. The Raiders have Carr, the Jets are the Jets, Jaguars have Bortles, so that leaves the door open for the Bucs.

IMO, the Top 5 QB Draft prospects are:

1. Marcus Mariota

2. Dak Prescott

3. Jamies Winston

4. Connor Cook

5. Bryce Petty

How much does Todd Gurley's suspension hurt him draft wise? He's still probably the best prospect out there.

A.J. Green had the exact same suspension and ended up going #4. It's not as if Gurley is a criminal or even a habitual idiot. His position would probably hurt his draft position more than the suspension.

Exactly. It gets harder and harder to justify taking a RB in the first round, less in the top 5.

A new factor is that the franchise tag number for RBs is going down and may drop dramatically if Peterson is released by MIN.

If I were the Ravens, I'd strongly consider trading up for Gurley, but if they don't do that they at least should go for Gordon

I don't think I'd draft a defensive back, and maybe not even any defensive player at all in the first round. I also wouldn't invest tons in free agent defensive players - D just isn't that important anymore, and the game is being regulated in a way that closes the gap between the top-dollar star players and the cheap average guys.

Maybe an absolute stud DT, DE, or MLB should get some money, but that's about it. Your defense just needs to be "good enough" these days. I think last year's Seahawks were much better than "good enough", but are really the exception - and even then they weren't really that great by historical standards (just based on the eye test).

Glennon is better than people think..... he's kinda like a younger Flacco IMO.

That's not exactly a compliment.

Yeah, Flacco isn't all that great.... but he's won at the highest level.

With pretty good defenses. It's not all the QB's doing.

So now that the regular season is over in CFB, and we've had 12 or more games to evaluate players, has anybody's draft predictions changed?

I'm calling that Duke Johnson goes to the Chargers in the 3rd round. He fits that offense so perfectly.

Philip Dorsett goes to Minnesota or Tennessee.

Christmas came late this year as the Bucs get the first pick of the draft, Titans will pick second.

When I started this thread, I'd bet a king's ransom that the Raiders would pick ahead of the Bucs. What a difference a month makes.

If I'm Marcus Mariota, I'm yanking pages from the John Elway/Bo Jackson Draft Playbook as we speak, telling the Buccaneers, Titans, Raiders and Jets "If you draft me, I won't play there."
