This has been a side project to my MLS series.

And the symbolism:

outer circle: represents a record to go with the Music City nickname. The font is based off the country music industry. The 4 point stars represent a compass paying homage to the city's days as a railroad town.

inner circle: represents Nashville divided by the slash that is the Cumberland river

Shield: represents the Identity as Athens of the South with the iconic tri star in the middle.

Why the color change if the original colors come from the city flag? Is there a reason the slash does not cross through the center point of the circle? I like the idea of the 4-point stars, but wonder if they would look better rotated 45 degrees (vertical/horizontal point alignment) as a map compass would be. Maybe a larger font to fill the blue "blank space"?

it is in that position to resemble the position of the river in relation to the city. I will try that and i changed colors because the city flag is nowhere close to being a recognized as a major symbol of the city. I have lived there all my live and I never knew we even had one till recently.

I really like this crest. Unique colors and a sleek and simple design. My only nitpick is that I think there is to much blank space between the words and the stars on the roundel. My suggestion to fix this issue is to either make the words bigger or spread them out. It looks fine as is, but I think if you filled the majority of the blank space it would really improve the design.

I would definitely increase the type size for the words NASHVILLE and FOOTBALL CLUB and probably also space out these words a little as well, if necessary.

You might also center NASHVILLE and FOOTBALL CLUB inside that blue circle, so the distances are all equal. Same goes for the badge in the middle that is placed too much on the left now.

Apart from that, I like the logo. Good work!

I like it! The lines on the crest actually make me think more of a record than guitar strings. Either way, looks very good!

The crest was inspired by a record in the first place and I see that too.

The original NFC crest was actually made in paint by the owners and they don't like it much themselves. Would it make sense to propose this to the club? If so, how do I go about doing that.

I see that, good imagery. I don't know if it's just my eyes playing some tricks on me, but it appears that the "Football Club" doesn't follow the curve of the inner circle all the way, looks like it curves out more on the "Football" side too.

I would definitely send it to them and see what happens. I have never done it myself so I wouldn't know exactly how to go about that.

I will trim it up to be perfect, but idea wise I think I got it. Does anyone know how to go about proposing this to the club? All I would want out of it is free membership for a year which includes all of the below. Is that too much? How do I write an email about it? I would add kit design into the deal.

Premier Member – $150 - 2015 Nashville FC Custom Jersey - Vote on major club decisions* - Nashville FC Custom Lapel Pin - 2015 Home Season Tickets - Membership Card - Promotional Discounts w/ Membership Card - Nashville FC Membership Car Window Decal

- Entry to Member Only Events

also I have a 1 color version here

The original logo is not yet posted on the NPSL section of this site, although Nashville Football Club joined in 2014. Its use of the fleur de lys surprised me, as I wasn't aware of much of a French connection, and it turns out to be based on the fleur de lys on the compass rose of the city seal, which just comes from an old convention to mark where North was. All of this to say, I support replacing the fleur de lys, and Tennessee's tri-star seems a natural choice.

To drive the point of a record home, a hole in the middle would help, but that poses other design problems. I do like the second version better, and I'm getting used to the unusual colour combination. This would require a uniform change, as the current team wears yellow and white stripes.

Use the rules of heraldry for more effective sports logos! i.e. keep it simple, use good contrast...

I know they do, it hurts my eyes. I would do those and the stripes are based off the border of the flag that was actually done for only design purposes (it means nothing) there is no French feeling or existence in Nashville either. Another reason I like mine is that their motto is "our town our club" which says that the people is what make up the city. While the current logo is what the government makes of the city, mine is what the people make the city. NFC is also the first fan-owned club in America.

I think this needs a lot of work before it would be considered a better option than what the club is currently using. Your guitar strings should be centred within the roundel, as should be the text. The text should be spaced more, as it looks quite squished, and should be typed on a curve, rather than transformed using arch. The shield could be made bigger to fill more space within the centre, and I would consider completely eliminating the foundation year.

A further thought, if the record theme is key, is to use the "spider" adapter in the middle, which allowed 45 rpm singles to be played on a regular turntable's LP (33) spindle, Its distinctive triskelion shape always struck me as attractive, and it would be an appropriate fit here. The shield and the lettering could be moved into the central disc as part of the record's "label," and the strings/grooves could go full circle as the actual record part. Just suggestions- it's your project.
