JJHoser
So, I am a CSU student. And I know we are partnered with Under Armour. And I know that CSU's bowl game would never get this kind of attention. However, I started thinking about a world where Nike decided to design a special uniform for the CSU Rams when they take on Utah in the Royal Purple Las Vegas bowl. I also have always loved the idea of the Rams wearing gold helmets and jerseys. So I put myself into the shoes of a Nike designer and created a concept.First off, the helmet has to have a nice shine to it. A matte would never work, but a chrome helmet wouldn't work either so I created something in between. Second off, Nike is known for doing over the top things and putting sublimated deigns onto uniforms (i.e. Oregon's wings on the shoulders of every uniform) so I took that approach. The triangular pattern is supposed to represent the mountains and trees that surround us here in Fort Collins/ the mountain and trees up behind our stadium. Going with an actual mountain range image seemed very anti-nike design so I thought that the idea of a representational pattern seemed better. Finally, I kept the idea of how their current uniform shoulders already look but I added the TV numbers to match the front and back. I also decided that green is a must. I tried the numbers as white with green outline and it felt forced. I also tried white and gold pants and those seemed to clash way too much. I feel as if this way works out the best.Without further adieu... Colorado Born and Raised!!
martymcfry
My initial reaction was it looks good. My only complaint is the mountain pattern on the pants. It just looks weird. Maybe try removing that and using it as a stripe. Also, could you provide a side view?

Clintau24
I think this has great potential. I like the base design and your ideas - I think the execution could use some work. I love the idea of the triangles and what they stand for. But I feel like having them on the stomach, shoulders, and thighs is a bit over kill. I think you could make them a bit more prominent on the shoulder caps to begin with. Maybe for something different on the pants - making them a stripe. I don't like the "textured" look it gives the front of the pants. When I see the jersey, I see the basketball jersey sweatbacks (and Legend of Zelda's Triforce, to be honest). As I write this, the idea of having a yoke's worth of triangles might work. That's just me pulling something from thin air though. "I believe in Auburn and love it!" ejcooper31
As a fellow ram, I really like how you have the colors laid out. This has great potential. But as for the triangles representing mountains, it just doesn't translate. I think if you could actually illustrate some rocky mountains, similar to what Utah used for their basketball uniforms (below) it would not only convey your idea more effectively, but also be more interesting looking. Personally, I think Nike would be on board with making a stylized mountain range. I think a matte helmet would work for CSU. Right now i'm working on a gray CSU uniform with a matte helmet. Personally, I think the green/gold would work with the orange well; and even more so would an aggie orange/gray. Also, I would add text "Colorado State" or "Rams" above the numbers

And I agree with him there. And I think the representation works better than the actual images especially in this case as they would be play Utah, who already wears the real image. If he were to do just that it would be repetitive. "I believe in Auburn and love it!" Â
JJHoser
I had already tried to create something with a realistic mountain vector and it just didn't seem like a Nike design. It also seemed too much like the old Utah Jazz shorts and that didn't seem too creative. And I made the mountain vector off of and image of the mountains from within Fort Collins. As for the pants with the triangular pattern, this is how it looks without. I don't know which way I like it. I also don't want to add a stripe on the side because I feel like that would not match with the design for the rest of the uniform, since there would be no other striping. Colorado Born and Raised!!
