Was it too soon in 1976?I mean it did help the Avs case to win the Cup immediately and remain good for a decade. My guess is that it's because the Rockies stunk.Just like their uniforms and identitySorry, but I totally disagree. If there were good things about the Rockies, the crest and uniforms were it. Colourful but clean and simple. The Avalanche could have a top-notch uniform if they simplified their uniforms and ditched the black. Both teams were exact polar opposites of each other:Rockies - clean and traditional uniforms, horrible teams.Avalanche - garish and cluttered "lacrosse style" uniforms, great championship teams. I know the Penguins did it until somewhere around 89-90The 80s Blues did the same thing, and their captaincy patch was a single piece of fabric with the design heat-pressed onI wish I had more photos of these, there were tons of examples at the Hockey Hall of Fame I'll respect any opinion that you can defend. It's black. The lighting is likely playing tricks on your eyes.
